Features on a guitar? Well, it's got vol. and tone knobs. That's enough for me. I just got it today and spent the night playing it. I'm not much of a guitar player, but is just looked so sexy that I had to get it. It's great looks are a feature I suppose.

PHENOMENAL! I played it through a Vox AC-30 and a little Fender Junior that I have. It sounded so heavy - so gritty - with tons of balls. It blew my mind. Once in a while it feeds back, but its totally controllable. I tested it out against a Custom Shop Les Paul and a Custom Shop Fender Strat. Totally diff't sounding of course, but equally great. It stood up really well to the Les Paul in terms of sounding heavy. Not as "biting," but just as gritty. I think it would be great for any type of music you wanted to play with it - other than thrash metal I suppose.

Excellent. A beauty in every sense of the word. One of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. Was finished off very nicely.

Too early to say, but I was told that the latest Gretsch's are better made than the ones from the '60s. The store had both, and the guy told me that the new ones are in fact better made, and sound just as good. He didn't have an old Black Falcon around, but he did have an old Country Gent and a Tenneseean.

I actually talked the guy into renting it to me just so I could try it out. I guess he figured that once I got it home I wouldn't be able to bring it back. He was right. I'm gonna buy it. I think I got the last Gretsch Black Falcon sold in Canada that was still made by Gretsch. Now, the company is owned by Fender, so who knows what will happen. What a shame. I'm amazed that more guitar players don't play these wonderful guitars. They sound incredible, and seem to fit beautifully into any guitar collection. I know I'll use it a ton in the studio. It will complement my Strat and Lezzy very nicely.

Baltic maple rims, top and back. DEEP BLACK, NITRO-CELLULOSE, GLOSS finish. Single cut-away that is "deeper" than a semi Hollow but a bit thinner than an L-5 or Super 400 gibson. This nails Jazz-a-Billy, Swing, 50's/60's rock'n'roll, Merle Travis. I use this with a 1965 Super Reverb or a Princeton RV / Deluxe Reverb and splitter. A touch of analog delay (on demand) to one amp and an Octave pedal (on demand)to the other. The guitar is quiet. It can be sweet or nasty depending on your individual ability. The guitar is capable of more than I need. I like the playability and solid construction. The durability and balance are a pleasure.

I bought this guitar used. It was unplayable. Corroded acoustic strings, amateur set up. But the neck, frets, binding and hardware are all "THERE". A bit of oxidation scratchiness in the tone pots. Dust bunnies in the body.

This guitar withstood a brutal childhood but suffered no long term affects. The finish is fine with the exception of a few checks on the back and minor scratches from laying on old string ends in the case. Strap buttons are threaded Gretsch. I have used this live and in the studio. Plus I have loaned it to pro players on occasion. They said they never had to re-tune it.

Gretsch Customer Support didn't even know they had ever made this guitar. Said it was probably a one off custom for a (un-named here, Las Vegas star) customer.

I've played for a long time. I currently own other Gretsch, Gibson and fender pro-grade instruments and mostly tube Fender amps. Plus a Peavey T-60 and a 2 X 10 Kustom Tuck and Roll.
I wish I had asked for the previous owner's name so I could have forced him to learn the Kazoo.
I could never replace this. Art Wiggs of Wings Guitars had never seen one. I have heard rumors that there is another but have not verified it. Jay Scott did authenticate it.
I love the sound and the playability. I hate that its so rare that few other players will ever get to experience one. It is a bit exclusive for my needs.

This guitar is one of the most beautifully cheesy guitars I have ever seen. The black finish is amazing with sparkle gold on the edges. The hardware is gold-plated. It is a single cutaway and features a tremelo by bigsby and a floating bridge. Intonation can be set on each individual string. The pickups are new Filtertrons. The controls on this peice of art are master volume, tone, volume for each pickup.

This guitar suits my style in every aspect. I grew up listening to the Cure and is now one their main guitar sounds as well. I play a lot of Jazz, blues, rock-a-billy, and even goth and it handles all very well. It can go from a thin sound to a very deep, dark tone. I use a combo of a Peavey Bandit 112 and an old early 80's Roland JC hooked in series with the bandit functioning as the main pre-amp. I use boss pedals (Chorus, delay, flange, overdrive, phaser) and a Vox wah.

This guitar was set up great when received. Upon opening, it was reminiscent of the breifcase in Pulp Fiction!

I wouldn't want to take this out much, I have too much respect for it. It will last if proper care is adhered too. I would use it without a back-up, but the thought of not ever having a backup is stupid, remember Murphy? But if one is in the position to play it live without the risk (a crew to look after the gear) then it would be a great treat for the audience, and the player as well

I have been playing for about 15 years and have always dreampt of a girl like her. If it was stolen, that person better be fearing for their life! I don't know if I would have the money to just go and buy another one.

Same as the current generation White Falcon 7593, except its black with gold all over it. See the Gretsch website for all the construction details.

It is a typical Gretsch, and sounds like old early '60s Gretschs I've had -thats with the current Filtertron pickups..in fact it probably sounds better. I play everything but a probably a lot of rockabilly at the moment and this axe nails that sound. I use a modified Tele for other material.
I play through a Marshall 50w high gain head and a quad box- or a smaller box when needed. The sound cuts right through -I love it. I bought it for its individual sound and looks.

Geat neck and overall balance when standing up and playing. It is the sexiest guitar I have laid eyes on and didn't even know they existed -once the dealer opened the case, I knew I had to have this guitar. I traded my Gibson semi in immediately.
The pickguard has a minor paint flaw which I will ask to be fixed under warranty -the truss rod cover isnt exactly dead-centre on the headstock..I'll thing about that, but the finish is superb and it is worth paying ridiculous money to have that thing standing across the room to look at. Make no bones -it plays great too !!!

It is like no other guitar I have had in 30 years of playing - I got sick of the Gibson and Fender merry go-round, my other guitar is a Mex. Fender Tele special with a humbucker neck pickup. I fitted a Bigsby kit to it and it is better than any other Fender I have owned. Dont buy a Gretsch and expect a Gibson or Fender vibe -it is an individual thing. No good for fat blues or metal, but it put a smile on my face -I'm still grinning.
