It's the Junior's big, pissed-off brother. It has all the stuff you'd expect from an LP junior. The main attraction is the pickups. Gretsch made its reputation off of crazy pickups, and these are no exception. I like the sunburst, I just wish there was another one because I had the same paint scheme on my last guitar. There's nothing too fancy, but it's worth a lot more than the money.

Sound : 8
I'm a chicken-picker, and I appreciate the clean tone this gets. While lots of Gretsch guitars have a really heavy twang or a mellow tone, when played clean, it has a sharp, twangy tone similar to a mid-level accoustic. I play classical and jazz-type stuff, and it has replaced my trademark accoustic.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I think there was a little problem with the pickups (The last one seemed way too clost to the strings), but the action was great. I almost got the Country Club (One step up from this), but its action was not nearly as good.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar is a beast. It cannot be stopped. The body is extremely strong and the paint is there to stay (Something I can't say about my accoustic and Tele). I have relegated my other axes to the closet. The only problem is that the cover on the knobs is a little weak, but you can buy a replacement for nothing.

Customer Support : 10
I haven't needed any help on this guitar, but I'm a Gretsch guy, so I've talked to them a lot, they're the best.

Overall Rating : 9
I have a couple other guitars, and let me say this first, I hate Gibson, so my friends were rather suprised when they saw me with a double-humbucker singlecut. This guitar easily trounces the LP junior and Special. It's a great guitar that plays and sounds like a dream.
