I just purchased a 2004 Don Grosh Hollow Carve Top Custom T in Transparent Purple with a Honey back. It has a figured Black Limba body and neck with a rosewood fretboard. It has the roundback medium neck, 12" radius, 6150 frets and L.R. Baggs Control X Flat bridge for acoustic type tones and two Tom Holmes 4 wire PAF Humbuckers. There is also a mono stereo switch, push/pull coil tap, 3 way selector for pickups and an additional 3 way for the L.R. Baggs system. The hardware is Gold and there are locking Kluson tuners. The guitar came with a G & G hardshell case.

This is the most enjoyable guitar I've ever owned, both in tones available and workmanship. The Tom Holmes PAF Humbuckers have a very rich and full tone and when split have a very nice Strat type tone thats not quite as biting as a Strat can be. I play mostly all christian contemporary and christian rock music and this guitar meets any need that I might have. I play through a Fender Deluxe Reverb and my effects chain is as follows: Boss TU-2 tuner, Keeley modded 808, Keeley modded TS-9(Baked), Fulltone Fulldrive 2, Tonebone Hot British, Boss DD-3 delay, Boss CE-5 Chorus to the amp. I couldn't be happier with the tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
When I recieved the guitar I was very happy with the set-up. Right out of the case the guitar was set at the proper string height and was perfectly intonated. The Transparent purple top was flawless and the neck joint was tight, with no gaps found anywhere. The top was absolutely beautiful, with this being the best workmanship I have seen on any guitar I have owned. The frets are very smooth and all the switches are top quality.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This appears to be a very well made guitar and I have played it without a backup with no problems noted at all yet. This guitar seems to stay in tune as well as any other guitar I've owned and is extremely solid.

Customer Support : 9
Don Grosh and company are very helpful and reply to e-mails within 24 hours when I've sent something their way. It's a small company, and I believe this is in part why the quality is as good as it is and why they are responsive to their customers needs. The guitar comes with a lifetime warranty to the original owner. Can't beat that!!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 20+ years and have owned several Gibsons, Fender Custom Shop Strats and wolfgangs. If this guitar were stolen I would replace it immediately. I traded a very nice Fender 69 Relic Strat for this guitar, with some apprehension, and I couldn't be happier. It plays and sounds as good as any guitar I have owned and the workmanship is second to none. I think that allot of the workmanship and quality come because the company only has a handful of people, and the owner, whose name appears on the headstock, does much of the work himself. I would suggest that anyone looking for a quality guitar should look at what Don Grosh has to offer. This guitar retailed for $3870.00, which is pretty pricey, but the quality is there. If I could only own one guitar, this would be it.
