Probably 2007. I had my eye on this for a year or two. It was sitting at an online dealer, and because it had a unique pickup setup, I think most T-type fans avaided it. The listing said it had 2 Fralin humbuckers, push-pull splits, Braz board. All wrong. Upon closer examination, I saw it had Fralin P-92's, a humbucker-sized P-90 with little or no hum. 3-way, Indian rosewood board. I sat and waited, waited. Then they got dropped as a Grosh dealer, cut the price. And I waited. Then they dropped the price again, and offered a 10% discount to past customers. I jumped. Very sweet guitar. It has a bridge baseplate that incorporates the humbucker-sized P-92 which I thnk looks great. The neck is a wonderful thin profile with a satin finish. A killer.

Really bright when I want it, gets growly too. All the P-90 tones, less the interference. It's my first P-90 in a long time, and it is a great alternative to the SSS and Humbuckers on my other guitars.

This is the amazing part. It feels and plays like it has a hundred hours on it already. so smooth, so "right" felling out of the box. Don' build is spectacular, there was nothing I could think of to improve.

I have emailed them 3 times and gotten very thoughtful and quick responses. I think they value their customers very much.

The guitar exceeds my expectations in terms of looks, build quality, tone and value. I frankly bought it because of the deal and the Sherwood Green color, but I was floored by how much I reach for that when I want to play my favorite. I would buy it again and even pay more (within reason!), because it it a great guitar. Played for 40 years now, and I have had all of the regulars over the years (sold too many of them too!), but I think I have a perspective on what "works". This one does.

This guitar is a better 52 RI. The locking vintage tuners are a nice touch. Mine has the Fralin Vintage T pickups. The body on this one is a one piece ash, the guitar is very light.

This guitar suits all my playng styles, from clean to distorted. It is well balanced. It sounds like my friends '51 Tele on steroids. Great sustain and resonance.

This guitar came set-up perfectly for me. It has a beautiful one piece ash body. The laquer finish is impecable. The fret work looks like it was done by true artist, and it plays like a dream as well.

Been playing for almost 40 years, this is the best tele I have ever played. Try a Grosh for yourself.

Built in 2004. Hand made in Santa Clarita Ca.
Frets are 6105s. I ordered it this way for that vintage feel. I have heard that larger frets work well too.
The RCVT is Don's take on a classic design. Single cut, with a special comfort cut to make the guitar easier to hold close to my ribs. In my opinion Don has improved the appearance of the Tele with the little changes that he has made.
The guitar came with a 3 way switch and a push pull on the tone to split the humbucker.
Fralin Unbucker in the neck position and Broadcaster in the bridge. The Unbucker is really nice and warm. Chimey harmonics jump off of this pickup. It is 3 dimensional. The broadcaster gives the guitar the classic honk. I do make minor adjustments to the tone control pot when switching. The tone pot makes a noticeable difference on this guitar.
The body is alder, the neck is rosewood on maple. Don met my request and found a nice dark piece of indian rosewood for the fretboard.
The finish is black lacquer the pickguard is mint green.
Vintage T bridge this was strongly recommended by Lyle at A#.They have ordered many of Don's guitars so I listened to what they had to say.
Neck is 1 5/8" round back medium but I am under the impression that Don's shop can build anything you want.
The case is nice too.

I ordered the guitar so I hope it suites my style. Actually I have been playing for 15 years and I am still learning. I find that I am creative with this guitar and I hate to put it down. The 6105 frets are a little tall so they force me continue to work on improving my technique.
Don shields his guitars pretty well so the noise is less than I expected. I plug straight into an Allen kit amplifier that I built a couple of years ago.
With the push pull spliting the neck and the broadcaster back aft I can get many different tones.
The Unbucker took a while to get used to. It is different than other humbuckers. I am very happy with it now.

For me, out of the box the guitar was perfect.
The pickups are adjusted just right. No intonation problems and plenty of power.
The pick guard fits up perfectly. The finish is flawless, tough to do with black. The neck is really smooth and fast. I like the straight grained maple. That is what I ordered.

I have had the guitar for 9 months now. It is as solid as a rock.
The hardware is top drawer. The nitro finish will wear and probably check. That is the price you pay for a guitar that breathes.
I have a couple of other guitars but I always seem to grab this one. I have total confidence in this guitar.

Lifetime warranty. The guitar is so solid that I will be surprised if I need it.
I have never had to get a Grosh guitar repaired. I have a Retro Classic as well and have never had an issue in the 4 years that I have owned a Grosh.
Don is an artist. His company builds a limited number of guitars every year. They are sold through NICE Music Stores by professional musicians. They represent Don and his company very well. I know that A Sharp has always treats me very well.

I may have looked at a Fralin PAF instead of the Unbucker but, like I said I have grown fond of the Unbucker tone.
I would definately replace if lost or stolen.
Certainly as nice as any other custom shop or builder out there.
I did check out Andersons, nice but just felt like something was missing, Fender Custom Shop, nice but inconsistent and I could not find THE guitar. Both of my Grosh's have the mojo.
I wish it came with a set of Keefs fingers.
