I do`nt know where this gtr. was made, but I THINK somewhere in china, which really surprizes me cause this one is hot. 22 frets on a comp. fret board, laminated top,one vol and one tone, a 3 way for the 60`s humbuckers, and a splitter for a single coil sound. It has a mohogany body with a stuning cherryburst flame top.Not sure who makes the cool classic style tuners, but they`er none locking.Oh yea, nice addition of an f-hole on the bass side of the top.

I love it for blues with the f-hole, it really gives it a full and hollow sound that my es-335 had. When I switch the splitter, the rockabilly sound I love from a p-90 comes through loud and clear.WOW what a full range of GTR from one axe.

The action is just high enough to play open tuned blues,(the only way),but low enough for the best picks, perfect for me. The pickups needed a little adjusting, but not much.

I`ve been a singer and harp player for 25yr`s,when I picked up GTR about 15yr`s ago. Now I`ve owned lots of GTR`s but nothing sounds like this ONE GTR. Sold my Tele, my Strat, my ES335, and my Les Paul Classic after buying this GTR. No, really! Just try it, you`ll see.

This is (finally) the forementioned follow-up review I promised months back. My guitar is a sunburst chambered LP-type Hagstrom. The "phase switch" (switch function description was lifted out of several other Hagstrom reviews) is most defintely a coil split switch and is very usable as a Lead/Rhythm selector. Wow. I have gigged with it indoors and out and have received many compliments on both the look and the sound. The neck pickup is very strong, not to take away anything from the bridge unit, and is my favorite in 'bucking mode. This guy gets a fantastic woman tone and is very capable of reproducing Eric C's "Disraeli Gears" and the Mike Bloomfield LP tones, which is what got me into all of this in the first place. The split (single coil) mode is reminiscent of P90's with a Gretsch sort of jangle and the instrument exhibits good snarl. Switching to full output from single-coil mode, especially on the neck pickup, slams my system hard enough to effectively act as a lead boost. Everyone who has picked it up has trouble putting it back on the stand.

I have not been able to knock it out tune yet when playing live. I generally bend the strings a lot and install a fresh set before gigging out of habit. My Strat is getting lonely and has not been out of its case since I got the Hagstrom, although I still take it along as insurance.

As stated in the first review, this thing ROCKS. It feels solid enough to drive nails. The flame and 'burst are breathtaking every time I open the case. My wife is thrilled because I stopped trying to figure out how to afford a much more expensive instrument. I would definitely replace it if some *%$!* stole it, but the sunburst models seem to be rarer than the sparkle-finished ones, which might be a problem. Like the other reviewer, I would much prefer a selection of solid-color finishes to choose in the event that mine disappeared.
