Features same as mentioned before by others. Mine is Burgundy Burst. Looks like a Gibson Nighthawk but much better. Abalone/pearl binding. Just like it was made in heaven.

Sound : 10
Just like it was made in HELL! Awsome hot pickups with incredible sound. Just as great as a Gibson! I know, I tried some! Suits all styles except black/death and sorts of because it has passive humbuckers. Coil tap is great! You can start from blues, go through jazz, rock, metal, alternative, modern or classic rock, it suits all. And does it well. I use a Orange Crush 15R at home and a Johnson Amplification JT50 Mirage for gigging and band practicing. In studio I use it on a full valve Hughes & Kettner with rack effects. The neck is perfect! This instrument is something to call a guitar! Hour long sustain. No need to replace pickups. You must get used to its weight. It's neck heavy. Thats the only negative thing if you don't like it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
It was well set-up and had no flaws. You can trust Hagstrom. They won't sell low quality instruments! Don't be fooled by the cheap price! It's as good as a Gibson LP or SG or a Strat or anything else you can think of. I was amazed! I've had it for a year now and as days pass by I love it more and more. I think I will change the pots, they seem a bit weak, but nothing else.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Will last longer than our world. I have backup guitar but never had to use it since I have this beauty. I'm gigging a lot but couldn't do anything it could not withstand. Change pots and it will handle nuclear wars.

Customer Support : 10
Never had to deal with them but they have a great homepage with every detail you should need!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for more than 10 years and had lots of guitars. This is the best I have ever played. I will keep it till I die. XXX quality sound and features. Just listen to the French guy on youtube and you should get what I mean!

Um... this guitar is perhaps the finest example of craftsmanship I have ever layed my hands on. Maybe I just got lucky but... I own a nice Fender and a nice Gibson and a lot of other guitars and this is just a special piece.
The finish is outstanding. The particular look of this guitar is a kind of deluxe vintage vibe because of the pearl binding everywhere. It's very nice.
The neck is just amazing. So fast and easy to control. Almost flat after a rounded curve out past the neck binding. Defanitely not a Gibson neck, but it just feels really good in my hands.
Mine is the vintage burst.

Sound : 9
The pickups are pretty hot. Since I play worship music, classic/milder type rock and country they were a little hotter than I'm used to.
Very usable all over the board.
Havn't found much use for the split coil yet. There could be... it basically cuts the volume in half. Might be nice for switching from strumming to solo, but then again maybe not. But hey, it's a bonus so no points docked.
Good sound.
For a lighter guitar made from basswood... I guess I just didn't know what to expect but the sound is rock solid and clear. Don't see a need to change out these pickups.
The pots are trash. Probably the worst I've ever seen on any guitar I've owned [more than 20]. They work, but sweep is totally uneven.
I suppose it's brighter than a 10 lb LP, but good tone still.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Finish is amazing. I've never seen a better quilt on a guitar and the binding is done well everywhere. There are two tiny flecks of something in the finish on the front. Too small to see from 3 feet away, but should not have been there. Still give it a 10.
This guitar came PERFECTLY set up. I mean intonation, low string height, perfect frets, neck straight. Better setup than I've gotten from guitar techs in the past.
Good nut.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Feels rock solid. Pots will have to be changed and the coil switch is as cheap as they get... but that's small stuff. Love the neck- it is stiff as steal and smooth as a babies butt.
Tuners are excellent, bridge appears to be a real winner. Good simple controls and no problems so far.

Overall Rating : 10
The most fantastic money i've ever spent on a guitar. You would have to be forking over $$ for a Gibson custom shop to come close on the finish work.
Light and easy to play but still with good tone.

Great set of features for the price. You can look the details up on the Hagstrom web site. For me the best parts are the thin neck (Much like an Ibanez Wizard II), pickup quality, and the coil tap ability. The guitar is fairly light as well. Tuners are good quality, it even has a graphite nut to help with tuning stability.

Sound : 10
Coming straight stock off the shelf this thing sounds great. The pickups have a lot of flexibility. Anything from Jazz to Metal. Of course, everybody has their opinions and if you just want to play death metal then you will probably get a set of actives.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I only gave this a 9 because color I got (Bathos Blue) was darker then the pictures seemed but other then that this thing really shines. the setup was great. No buzzing, action was fairly low an I can't find a flaw anywhere.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Seems very well build to me, of course I don't do heavy gigging or the like so I don't need something that I can swing around my head. time will tell I guess.

I just have to say that I spent a lot of time looking into a fixed bridge guitar in my price range, Epiphone, Schecter, LTD, Ibanez etc. I played as many as I could and the Hagstrom fit me the best. Those other companies have some nice guitars as well but for me the thin neck, lighter weight, tone options and the price (lower then most of the other comparable ones) sold me on the Hagstrom Ultra Swede. If you want a heaver guitar or different wood look at the Hagstrom Select series.

I am a big fan at mashing genres, so one of the main required aspects of my new guitar was versatility. So how happy was I when my hours and hours of careful research paid off. I was first drawn to Hagstrom by delving into their history, and I'm a big fan of the major musicians who endorsed them in the 70's (Like Frank Zappa and David Bowie).

Without ever actually playing this thing, I bought it. The Ultra Swede, with the transparent blue flamed maple top. This model was recommended by both of the Hag dealers in my area, both had bought one themselves and couldn't say enough good things about them.

What they told me is exactly what I discovered when the package arrived. So about the sound: freakin' beautiful. What kind of clean tone you want? It does em all, and does them well. You want hot and heavy? Go ahead and shred. It delivers. Hagstrom's custom humbuckers are absolute QUALITY, and there is no need to try and be cool and install Duncans, it would be a waste.

The coil tap is great, allows you to mellow things out at a softer volume, and you can toggle between either of the pickups which cover a range each unto their own.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I could not find a single defect on this guitar, which seems to have a bulletproof finish not of this world. Sure it was made in China, but Geography is not an issue. If something is done right, then it can come from Poland, or the bottom of the ocean. Matters not. Hagstrom obviously has a strict quality control and it just so happens, for the time being, these guitars are more affordable because of it.

Action??? You kidding me? When they say fastest neck on the planet, their not just slinging a catchy sales slogan. The resinator fretboard is genius. It absorbs moisture and stays slick and smooth at all times. Put that on an ultra slim neck and what do you think is gonna happen?

The only issue I had was the factory setup. It was all sorts of wrong - on this one at least. I was getting annoying fret buzz and it turns out the saddles needed tweeking. Tweek them I did, and I can't find anything else to complain about.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Built for battle. I plan on gigging with this thing for years to come, and that unearthly finish I spoke of will likely outlive a twinky in a time capsule. The brilliant H-expander truss rod will likely keep the neck straight as an arrow... we will have to see.

No need just yet.

Lets see... you could spend 2 grand on a Les Paul... OR you can humble yourself a little bit, give your bank account a break, and pick up one of these pretty young things. I dare you to say one is better than the other with a straight face.

I've owned and played Fender American Heritage Strats, various Guilds, and Gibson this and that. Glad I found out at age 30 that you don't have to be rich to obtain the sound and function that any good musician dreams of. A+++++

volume Knob, Tone knob, 3-way toggle, 2-way coil tap switch, 2 kick-*** hagstrom custom wound 58 pickups that come stock. While some people like even more knobs and controls, these more than I use so it's just fine.

Sound : 10
These huitars come stock with 2 Hagstrom 58 pickups which are as good as any DiMarzio or Seymour Duncan I have ever heard! handles all tobnal ranges.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I like a very low action so I made slight adjustments. The pick-ups were adjusted just fine. These guitars are absolutely the best quality I have ever seen in a mass produced guitar. If you didn't know the price they cost you would think you were hold a $1,000.00 or more guitar!

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is so well made that is is what I call a "lifetime guitar". I can't say enough about the quality of these guitars. I feel like I stole it for the price I paid!

As far as the gigging without a backup....why would anyone ever gig without a backup?????

I have never had to deal with them but judging from the product they put out i would imageine they are first rate.

I just can't get over the quality of what hagstrom is putting out for the price. I have had alot of guitars over my 50 years of life but I never had any that I was truly 100% happy with until I came across these new Hagstroms. The quality is just unbeliveable! In fact, if I headed the Gibson company I would be VERY concerned because I feel this is a better guitar than any Gibson at any price and at less cost which means it's a much better bang for your buck.
these guitars are so sweet I've decided to get a few in different colors/finishes. Whether you are in the market for a Les Paul or any electric guitar for that matter, you would be seriously cheating yourself if you did not check out a Hagstrom. Yes, they are that good! I call it my "rich man's guitar", hehe
