New, made in China, 24 frets, flamed maple top on solid basswood body. 5 way pickup selector, coil splitter switch, 2 tone controls, one volume, Hagstrom full contact tremelo. H/S/H passive pickups. Maple neck, Hagstrom ebony/synthetic fingerboard, high gloss polyester finish. Strat style bridge, Hagstrom Imperial style tuning keys. Extra thin neck with jumbo frets. Came with warranty card, allen wrenches, whammy bar, etc.

Sound : 9
I play mostly Contemporary Christian & Bluegrass/Country and from time to time a little rock & metal. With the coil splitter switch, 5 way p/up selector, and 2 tone controls this is an extremely versatile guitar capable of many different styles. I'm using it with a Behringer V-Tone modeling amp. The pickups are noticably quieter than than on my Strat knockoff, even with the coil splitter on and the humbuckers in single coil mode. It has a lot of sustain and is more musical and better acoustically than my Strat knockoff. I wish the humbuckers were a little hotter when switched to single coil mode, but they do sound good. The pickups on this guitar are apparently custom made for Hagstrom, and I like their voicings better than the EMG pickups in my other guitar. Using the coil splitter switch and the 2 tone controls and 5 way selector, you can get just about any sound you want out of this guitar as long as you aren't trying to simulate an acoustic.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
From the factory intonation was slightly off on two strings, but the pickups were adjusted very well. The flame maple top is not perfectly bookmatched but still looks good. The cavity routing is of very high quality, and the middle single coil routing is done with the "triangle shape" to where any single coil pickup should fit. I saw a couple tiny finish flaws, but the high gloss polyester finish will accent any flaws. Fretwork and hardware are perfect, no controls or wires were loose. The 2nd tone control was set too deeply into the top and rubbed slightly, I had to remove the plate on the back to fix it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The polyester finish seems very durable and resistant to scratching. The hardware is thick and heavy and seems durable. The tuners are very nice and very precise. The strap buttons seem solid and it seems as if it would be a dependable guitar. I would never gig without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have not needed to deal with customer support. Lifetime warranty for original purchaser.

I'm a banjo player but also play the guitar. My other guitars are a Martin acoustic and a Super Strat knockoff with EMG pickups. My main amp is a Behringer V-Tone modeling amp, and I've had other amps in the past. I like this guitar and it was a good choice. I was looking for an H/S/H guitar with a Strat body, long scale, standard tremelo, and some other features. The coil splitter is an added bonus on this guitar. Before buying this guitar I was looking at the AXL Fireax and several others.

It's lightweight, looks great, and sounds great. The neck is super thin which is great for thumb behind the neck players. Those who wrap their thumb around or those who have big hands may feel the neck is *too* thin. The body feels lighter than my alder bodied Super Strat which is basically the same size. The polyester finish is interesting and something new. It's high gloss and rock hard, which makes me feel better about the body being basswood. The bridge is very solid for using the whammy, but will only allow dives the way it's configured. It does look like it might be able to be adjusted to float. I like the sound and really have no complaints except that the humbuckers are pretty quiet when you switch the coil splitter on. I went with the "cosmic black" finish but wish there were a few other options for colors. The only other ones are red & sunburst. I also wish this guitar came in short scale. Hagstrom makes a similar guitar in short scale but it doesn't have the middle single coil. This is a real nice guitar that feels "expensive". I like it.

Okay If you havent play one of these. Get out their and get one in your hands. If your a lead player youll thank me. Going into your 4th set. The pick up setup and the coil tap. Gives you a hotter and deeper sound than a Les Paul. With the 5 way up one gives you a strat. That smokes a Fender even with hot wound pickups. Thier right now going for about 450.00. But this is going to change once they start selling. I play PRS, Strat and Gibson. This guitar is a PRS with the action of a Hagstom.
