Top quality Mosrite Ventures clone. Korean made, with design & setup overseen by Bob Shade -a true Mosrite fan, and top notch luthier who has taken over the Hallmark name from Joe Hall, a former Mosrite employee, who was in on the original design process on the original Ventures model Mosrites. Basic features as described by previous posts. Mine is a 2009 sunburst model. Came with a really cool alligator case, just like early Mosrites. A true bargain for $900.00. Perhaps best vibrato system I've played -and I've owned over 100 guitars, most with vibratos, including a bunch of original Mosrites. Neck and frets are a bit larger and more manageable than original Mosrites. Most would say this is a good thing.

Sound : 10
Thru my Fender Vibroverb reissue or Peavey valveking 110, sound is great. Surf, blues, rockabilly, classic rock even country. This baby does it all well.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Pretty much perfect right out of the case. Gorgeous finish, high quality hardware, lots of attention to detail. No flaws on mine.
Low action/ no buzzes -smooth as silk.

Reliability/Durability : 10
feels very solid.

Bob Shade will answer your email personally, and is a super nice guy, who will go the extra mile. The Mosrite Forum is a great place for additional info. Even Bob himself drops in on occasion. Plus, you think the Custom 60 is cool go to Hallmark.Com and check out the new '59 Custom model.

Been playing 45+ years. If I had just 2 or 3 of the guitars I sold in the 60's, I could trade them for a new Ferrari. But I don't ever remember playing anything better than this Hallmark.

1) Hot P-90s
2) Zero fret & metal string guide
3) vintage style frets & neck markings
4) Carved top & body binding
5) Aligator case

Sound : 10
This is a Mosrite on steroids. The P-90s are very sensitive to playing dynamics and react instantly to changes in picking dynamics. At ther same time, the pick-ups are very quite and, so far, very resistant to feedback. The neck pick-up is great for full bodied chords. The combination of both pick-ups offers bright to mello tones by just altering your pick attack and location. This is one solid guitar.

When I first opened the case I was actually stunned. The guitar is absolutely beautiful. I've alway been a Mostite fan but had not played one in over 30 years. One look at this guitar and I knew I had made the right choice. Playing it was even more incredible. I remembered the Mosrite necks being fast, and the set-up on this instrument immediately took me back to those thoughts. I had only spoken to Mr. Shade briefly about my preferred set-up, and he delivered right on the money. This guitar has the "sunburst" finish and it's flawless. The body binding is tight and the fret work has to be played to be believed.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Tuning stability is unreal for a vibrato loaded instrument. The tuners are identical to the new set of Klusons that I just put on another of my guitars. I have no reason to believe that this guitar as any less reliable than any of mt others. You can feel the quality of this thing just sitting there playing a few chords or practicing your favorite solo. Let those P-90s sing (or scream) and they will.

Customer Support : 10
Mr. Shade has already answered every question I have asked. His responses lead me to believe that he truely believes in this guitar and that he knows what he is doing. It may be some time before I bother him again but I have no dought that he will be there. I have to tell you that it seemed so odd to be talking to the guy that actually designed my guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for almost 50 years and have collected and traded more guitars, amps, and various pedals than I care to think about. I do regret some of those deals and wish taht I had made some of the ones that I declined. That's just life I guess. This is a copy of a guitar that I have been wanting for most of 40 years. This guitar has the looks, the sound, and the feel of the real thing. Considering the quality of every aspect of it, I couldn't be more pleased. Also considering the great reception that this model is getting over on the Mosrite Forum, I think I made a good decision.

Virtually flawless finish, on one of the best bodies ever designed, from the vibrato tailpiece to the Mosrite-style headstock. A stylized version of the classic Mosrite, comes with alligator case, extra trem spring.

Sound : 10
Great sounding guitar, playing through a variety of amps (peavey, Fender, Crate) - has a range of sounds from cutting to mellow.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
One of the best guitars I have purchased, and I am "gun-shy" about purchasing mail-order guitars. Action out of the box was extremely playable, set up was great. A small burr on the headstock overlay, but other than that, I was very impressed with this finish.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Hardware seems durable - I had gotten a roller bridge from Hallmark prior to this to replace one on my Mosrite (Japan) - solid brass, and well built. Again, the finish is incredible. I got the Pearl White Sparkle finish - beautiful. Plan to switch to locking strap buttons.

Customer Support : 10
Too new for any repairs, but Bob Shade has always been very reponsive to all of my emails. Never a long wait for a response, always comes across as friendly and very helpful. With this kind of service, I feel that Hallmark is destined for great things.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for some 45 years, have 11 guitars, a pedal steel, and various amps, and I can say unequivocally that this guitar has quickly become my favorite. The styling, the finish, the hardware - all work together to produce a great aesthetic. If my collection were lost or stolen, this would be one guitar I would definitely replace. I highly recommend it for anyone who has ever wished for a Mosrite ...

65 Mosrite copy w/ bound german carved alder body and a set maple neck w/ rosewood finger board and binding. 2 mosrite style single coils. 3 way switch volume/tone knobs. made somewhere overseas to bob shade's specs. 22 frets w/ zero fret and shade bigsby style wang bar. fire burst finish.

Sound : 10
great output, and cuts through any mix. great sustain, and very quiet for single coils. usable for many genres.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
lowest action i've ever played, and i can bend on the tiny frets without fretting out, amazing. the sparkly fire burst finish is unreal. i threw 11's on it and put a heavier spring in the wang bar, along with stationary lubricant on the rollers and nut, and i gigged it the same night i recieved it. it goes out of tune a bit with the wang, but i think that i just need to file the nut a smidge.

Reliability/Durability : 10
everything from the kluson copies to the switch is top notch. i'd have no issues gigging without a backup. the finish is seemingly bullet proof.

Customer Support : 10
bob responds to every email. A++++

Overall Rating : 10
i've played 18 years. toured for 5 straight with a '78 les paul custom, and this guitar is every bit as well made. i also have a '64 mustang, and i have to say that this guitar is every bit as cool and vibey. i went into debt on an impulse, and it was one of the most gratifying purchases i have ever made.
