I really like the longer 25 and half inch scale, also the neck shape is like a refined historic Les Paul( slightly smaller). The notes have more top and bottom. I ended up swapping out the Duncan pick-ups for a set of Rio Grandes (texas&BBque). Both sets sounded very good, just like the Rio Grandes a little better(a little fatter sounding).

Very versatile, can cover almost any style of music. The only sound that I can`t get is a Strat clean sound. As far as the feedback issue,it`s only a problem if you play at very loud levels( twin on 8)

The only other guitar that I take to the gig is a Parker Classic, It`s able to get the fender sound in the middle position. I recently have tried Baker`s,McInturff`s,Suhr,Anderson PRS,and have owned more than 400 Gibsons &Fenders old &new and both the Hamer &Parker I feel are 2 of the finest instruments available at any price or time period.

I play jazz/rock so I figured this would be a good choice with the hollow tone chambers. It sounded really good with distortion and notes sustained will with good thick bucker tone. Clean was a different story. I didn't like it. Notes were not well defined and sounded muddy. I TRIED to make myself dig it but I couldn't.

O.K.... I sent the guitar back under the return policy. LOVED the overdriven tones BUT hated the clean tones. ALSO: Quality was a disappointment. I was expecting PRS type quality but the stain where the fretboard binding meets the wood was SLOPPY and looked like a kid did it. File marks on the fretboard were also very obvious. A good guitar, but not impressed with Hamer quality.

I agree with everything that the prevous rater said about the Superpro features except the pickups on the guitar are a custom and a custom-custom.Not a Pearly Gates. Also, the weight is probably closer to between 7 and 8 lbs.
The guitar has all the features it needs.

This guitar is from the new Monaco line from Hamer USA. The Super Pro is a single cutaway design with a carved maple top and Honduran mahogany body. Its sligthly larger than a Les Paul and slightly smaller than a Gibson 335. What makes it unique is the solid maple top on a guitar with large sound chambered wings and a solid center semi-hollow body design with no F holes (the standard Monaco has a spruce top with F holes). My guitar has a stunning book matched quilted top in Aztec Gold. I don't have an accurate scale, but this guitar is way under 7 pounds and lighter than my '61 ash bodied strat. It is a featherweight for sure.
The fingerboard is rosewood and the inlay a new Hamer "victory" design. The Super Pro has a tune-o-matic style bridge and a stop tail peice, a master tone knob and two pick-up volume knobs. It has a three way pick selector on the upper bout and Seymor Duncan humbucking pick ups, a Pearly Gates in the bridge position and a Custom design at the neck.
The scale length is 25 1/2 inches, the nut 1 5/8", the board radius is 14" and the tuners chrome Schallers. The guitar body, neck and headstock is bound in a very nice ivoroid binding. The workmanship, set up, finish quality and components are as nice as any guitar I've ever owned (Gison, Fender, Suhr, McInturff, PRS, yada, yada...).

I guess the most striking feature of this guitar's sound may be its acoustic volume. It could be literally be miked like an acoustic its so loud and resonant. Plugged into a Carr Rambler or a Z-28 it goes from woody jazz to wailing overdriven blues and rock. Its a brighter guitar than a typical humbucker PRS, McInturff or Gibson. I'd say with better note definition as a result. The Duncan pickups have plenty of output to push even the clean Carr tone into blissfull break-up and the guitar's volume controls allow fine gradations of distortion to clean as desired. It can get very close to a P-90 sound with a little dialing.
What it doesn't do is feed-back wildly like a guitar with F holes. At max volume, a very neat and controlable feedback can be generated, but only if you get positioned close to the amp.
I don't really have a style, per se. Most of what I play is blues oriented.

Most of this has been covered above. Absolutely superb fit and finish. Perfect intonation and set-up. You'd have to go to the custom shop of most manufacturers to get this quality.

I haven't dealt directly with Hamer. I will say that the folks at Willcutt Guitar Shoppe in Lexington, Ky. are extremely knowledgable about Hamer guitars and have a great selection. Not only do they sell them, they play them as well which says a lot given the quality of their inventory. Eric at Willcutt is the best person I've dealt with buying gear in the 35 years I've been doing it.

These guitars are a terriffic value, and offer some neat features that aren't generally available. The maple topped semi-hollow design creates some unique sounds and is a blast to play.
