Yeah, offered $5 for this bit of unpriced garage sale merchandise, but the lady insisted I have it for $3... She must've felt sorry for me, I do look mighty scruffy on my days off. It only had one string on it then (I guess this is my equivalent of whining about how it "didn't come set up properly"). Because I'm a guy who really cares, I strung it up with some used electric strings I had just taken off some other guitar, and would you believe it didn't work? Sounded like crap, and since I have very little tolerance for the avant-gard, it proceeded to sit in my old bedroom at the 'rents for a spell.
But the other day I decided that $3 was too much of an investment to have just sitting there, so I modified the nut and saddle to accept nylon strings. Works pretty good now, definately alot of fun trying to get my fat little fingers to navigate the tiny, tiny fretboard. Playing open chords is an exercise in frustration.
This is a children's guitar, basically a toy, but as a connoisuerre of really crappy guitars, I can tell you that this instrument is better sounding and more fun to play than it has any right to be. If those little numbers mean what I think they mean, this guitar was manufactured August 13, 1972, during a veritable age of innocence compared to our current situation.
The fret board appears to have some plasticky-veneer type thing going on, and the "inlays" are nothing more than dabs of silver paint. But the construction is solid, no visible warping or cracks, and it still has a nice, albeit generic, finish on the body. So lightweight that a length of hemp string makes for a reliable strap.

This thing has a surprisingly rich resonance, although the high notes tend to get lost (could be those cheap strings). This guitar absolutley refuses to stay in tune - once again, could be the strings. Many of my guitars seem to steer me in some musical direction or another - this one seems to prefer basic blues derivitives. And Modest Mouse songs.

Little kids are sensitive things, so this guitar is built for comfort. Add the nylon strings, and you have a guitar that even a severe burn victim could play with ease. I've got a nice little blister on my thumb after my Thanksgiving weekend turned into a particularly agressive, whiskey-fueled jam nightmare, and this guitar doesn't bother it a bit. This guitar really grew on me, I was going to give it to a friend's wee cousin for Christmas, but now I think I'll just keep it.

Sure. Guitar's older than me, and much better looking.

I really suck at guitar, but that doesn't mean I don't own a whole mess of them. I've never paid more than $6 for a guitar (although my first was a gift) and I do enjoy fixing guitars that other view as hope/worthless. Perhaps the best example of this is some generic Global, found in pieces at a construction site - they were using the body as an ashtray. Now it is a very bitter guitar that fights you every step of the way, but dang it, it WORKS. And now, so does this one, quite well thank you.
I'd rather spend less than $10 for a unique sounding guitar than take out a second mortgage chasing somebody else's idea of perfection.

This is one I didn't see a Review on and it deserves something.
This is a little 30" sucker for Children. Totally Miniature scale of a Std Guitar with 14 open Frets,19 in all. Open Tuners,Pick guard,(rosewood Bridge) Really! Nice wooden Bridge covered with ugly black paint. I aussume all Laminates. Neck is not adjustable. One screw holding Bridge on covered with pearloid of some kind.
For what it is,it's fine! Rateing this is hard since it's for children. On that I have to go 6 for enough! Made in Taiwan

Now 2 me this is where this little Rascal rocks! One sits next to my chair and when I want---there it is,small and load. Classical Acoustic would be difficult but enjoying your self with one of this is wide open! Real low setting--extremely easy to play. Sounds GREAT for the size. More sound that you would expect for sure.
I added a Pickup to one I have and it has a sound unlike any other. Between Bass Mandolin and Guitar. I'm impressed! For what it produces and considering it's really a cheap POS I have to give it a 9.

Neck can't be adjusted so you get what you get,Bridge can come off easially with 1 screw. It holds up fine considering I'm mean to it!
Has one strap button. This is good for children especially and fun for the Biggins too. Great next to the Chair to ignore the Old Lady while you pretend to listen and care.

How long have I been Playing? I don't need Viagra quite yet! Been at it a while and still not as good as some others and never will be! Have lot's of Acoustics. I play what "I" want for ME only. So.......I don't gig! I record myself with a couple others on Tape and listen in the truck without a Radio and Tail lights but has a Tape player that works. Speedometer works too! Have a couple semi Hollow Bodied F hole Ac/El Gibson Guitars but I don't play them often. Couple old Archtops. Lots of Fender stuff mainly. Couple Taylors too. (That's why I like this little thing!=No care really required).
What I wish it had? Truss rod I could get to,better installed Bridge and a Solid top! What I love? Like I said "Great to ignore others with whenever absolutly necessary and still look like you're listening"! Also for what it is, it's a good little guitar. I would suggest buying one that needs the bridge reglued so it will be done right.
