I just parted with my second 1965 H-19. Stock it comes with 2 Dearmond pickups with 3-way selector, Hagstom made tremolo unit that is among the best I've used, Fat profile neck, Cheap, open back, kluson knock off tuners. Pretty standard unit, nothing special but special features kill a guitar in my opinion. However for those who like gadgets I'll respect your opinion and give it a 7.

Sound : 9
Guitar sounds awesome but is not properly grounded coming from the factory so it squeals at you at high volumes. That said it is one of the best sounding guitars I've ever heard. These pickups are HOT, often reading around 10 on an ohm meter. Nice compromise between humbuckers and your average single coil.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
These guitars, as most harmony, silvertone, dano, etc. have a pretty cheap finish and set up. I parted with both of mine because they just don't play like a gibson or a fender. A pro set up helps but it's just not there. Harmony guitars will never be super high end instruments due to this category.

Reliability/Durability : 6
Pretty good, but these pickups are starting to show up dead on ebay A LOT. I had a neck pickup die. Other than electronics it's sound. You could attack an intruder or play baseball with it and it would still play.

None I know of.

Well I already sold two so I guess if it were stolen I'd live. I REALLY wish these guitars played as well as they sound. They'd be super hot items if they did.

Mine is what Subway calls a Jizzcaster which means it was heavily modded when I bought it. Mine has a faux bigsby trem and faux rickenbacker toasters in it as well as new paint and better tuners. I bought it on Ebay and it had a few problems such as the strings ratting out on the pickups in the high register. I fixed this by shimming the neck initially with brass and later with a nice hard piece of cherry wood because the brass caused frequency interference.

Made of Alder and maple I understand, probably one piece or two. These American made Harmonys are extremely well made from my experience, if not particularly well engineered (non tapered necks, stick tuners). Never had the slightest problem with the electronics on this forty five year old classic.

Absolutely nothing else sounds like this!!! This is not a shredder, but for surf or jangle this thing is the bomb. Think cross between a Rickenbacker and a good Gretsch with filtertrons. Notes really bloom on this beast. The tone really can't be beat!!!

oh god, i don't know this sad technical stuff, but i can spell which puts me in some sort of elitist group.

Sound : 10
well here we go.i have owned a considerable amount of guitars, you know-the usual suspects-gibsons, fenders- plus lesser known criminals
Godins[damn good] pearls[also damn good]and this guitar kicks all the arses.i play technically incompetent pop and rock but its THE SOUND of this thing WARM and BEAUTIFUL with loads of personality.to be fair to readers, trad. guitar heroes do not interest me long live the smiths, blam blam blam, pixies, galaxie 500,radiohead,husker du

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
i liked it just fine. wide neck, but my fingers ars slow anywho!

1962 Harmony H-19.
-2 volume, 2 tone
-3 way pickup selector
-2 DeArmond single coil pickups
-21 frets
-Made in USA
-Hardtail and floating bridge
Made comfortable (not like a Fender Jag) to hold and play.

Sound : 10
I sold my Fender Jaguar when I bought this guitar. This guitar has it all over the Jag. in playability and sound. Use it for Surf, rock, jazz or blues... it's awesome.... Doesn't go out of tune like a Fender because of the Hag. Trem. Raw, great sound...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Not as pretty as a Jag. but still holds up. The guitar is over 40 years old and has no cracks or other bad conditions. It has very low action and Hot, hot, pickups! The neck is still straight and plays very well. The electronics still work like new and very little noise.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've giged with this guitar and it's a rock... The tuners always need a little WD-40 but work well. It has the plastic strap buttons that are Org. but they seem to hold up. I would not need a backup with this guitar. Harmony made one hell of a guitar when they made this one.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Long gone but who needs it?

Overall Rating : 10
I played 20 years on the road and have over 60 guitars in my collection. This is one fine guitar and if ever lost would get another. If you want a Fender Jaguar or jazzmaster, look at this first. Anyone can buy a new Fender but to have this piece of history in your hands and have it sound and play so good is something else. Besides, these guitars are going up in value every year and soon will be fetching $800 or more.... Grab one now!

I play garge/noise rock(like Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, and the Pixies) and this guitar suits me perfectly. I'm always careful with it because it's my favorite guitar. You can put it through any amp and get a great sound and the some of the best sustain you'll ever hear. Using an old DOD Supra Distortion pedal, I pumped out some great heavy fuzz distortion.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I bought it and noticed a lot of dents, it looks like it's been used quite a lot. The pickguard looks like it was re-screwed in and it messed up the body in two places. It's got a lot of chips and dents on the bottom. Really it was just all cosmetic and nothing noticable unless you're looking for it. The pickups and all the electronics(frets, knobs, ect..) all in great condition.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I wouldn't dream of being too rough with this guitar. I want to keep it for a long time because it's uniqe and it sounds good. The hardware will last because it's lasted this long anyway(about 40 years give or take). If I handle it right, it'll last me and it won't get anymore dents or paint chipped off. I can shurely depend on this guitar and I would use it without a backup. If it fails me, then the show fails along with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Harmony isn't around to support anyone. Too bad.

Overall Rating : 9
If you want a Jazzmaster, Jagauar, or even a Mustang but don't have the moolah to get one, this is as close as you'll ever get. It's USA made so I'm not complaining. If someone stole this I would hunt them down and get it back. I don't like the thick neck alot but that's for the great sustain. I've been playing for about 2 years and I know after all the guitars I've seen so far, this is by far the best.
