Features : 9
This is a 1955 Harmony H-63 Black Espanada; it is known as the "Holy Grail" of the Harmony collection; Color black; it features the very
cool-looking Harmometal aluminium binding which was done in that
period; it has 2 Harmony single-coil pickups, 2 tone, 2 volume controls and a 3-way switch. Body style is a round single-cutaway.
the color is black with white controls. Bridge is of metal. Neck
is a little wider than normal, around 1 3/4 inch.

Sound : 10
I play West-Coast, Jump, Traditional Blues (Teddy Morgan, Junior Watson, Hollywood Fats, Kid Ramos);
the sound of this guitar is dark, full, fat, but clear;
Neck pickup: warm, full, jazzy, fat, but remainin clearity;
Bridge Pikcup: full, bluesy, fat, a bit more mean;
Both pickups on: T-Bone sound, (neck pickup reversed position):
full, dry, mean, clear 50's sound.
overall sound is rich and very full, not so bright.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action is good. Guitar plays ok; neck has no pin, but the guitar
is stable and good, so this doesn't bother much and playability is ok
guitar has no logo, because somebody tried to make 12-string out of it, made 6 extra hole's in the head, which was filled up and refinished black. Pickups had to be repaired, they were a bit loose
from the inside which produced hi-tone feedback.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a work-horse, 47 years old, but it looks like it can have
another 47 years;
This is a TANK built to last and destroy!!
I added extra strap button to make it play okay;
never use a guitar without backup, my epiphone ES-5 will do.

Customer Support : 9
Rothmans guitar in NY; very good store; people who love and know
about guitars;

Overall Rating : 10
I play for 3,5 years;
I (have) own(ed) Epiphone Zephyr Blues deluxe, Epiphone ES295,
Unicon archtop, danelectro 56u2, squier strat;

This H-63 is the best guitar I ever got in my hands, only Gibson's
and Gretsch's can be better, but you don't get a Gibson archtop
for 599 dollar, do you??
