Okay, mine is an L6 Lark Jumbo (same shape as J200).Unlike most Larks, mine is all beautiful flame maple back and sides rather than mahogany. I had the old rosewood fingerboard replaced with an ebony board about thirty years ago.Had nice fat frets fitted to it. Also replaced the machine heads that were cheap and worn with Schallers, again thirty years ago. I had the original hard case until I sold it with another guitar ten years ago; I replaced it with a more practical Hiscox case. Also had a quality under-saddle pickup fitted. My bridge is the fixed type rather than the adjustable one. Still has the zero fret, I think they all had this?

This is an INCREDIBLE guitar and suites all styles of playing from fingerpicking ragtime to jazz. I cannot even begin to describe the sound because it is so unique. Closest I could get is a cold pint of beer on a hot summers day with the woman of your dreams telling you your the best bloke in the world !!! well, almost.

I had mine setup real low. After thirty years there is NO BUZZ just melting butter on the fingerboard, MMMmmmm. Beautiful spruce top that is book matched.Finish has signs of playing and age but; it's a guitar for playing. Has a nice maple neck.

If it were stolen I'd bring hell with me to get it back !!!!!!!!!!!! This guitar has stayed with me while woman came and went. I'm giving my beloved Harptone to my youngest son in two years time when he is 18. When he plays this guitar when he is famous, there will be people fighting to by all the known Harptones !!! trust me.

Made in 1963 from maple- blond. Dr.'s daughter got it after Shea, tried to play, gave up, took off the strings and stuck it in closet until my Dad found it in a small guitar shop in Streator, Il. Absolutely unique instrument with arched back perfect finishing. No frills, just quality.

I use Ernie Ball extra light strings. I'm not that good of a player, but a German Pro friend of mine has made Norwegian Wood sound like the recording!

As with other comments submitted about Harptone, it is an incredible piece of craftsmanship. No substitute for quality hardwoods.

Holds a tune forever. After 40 years there is a tiny bit of neck-warp that effects the base e, but all other strings are perfect at two octaves. I've carried it numerous times accross the Atlantic, open the case and play. Solid stuff

I could never replace this instrument. I have been blessed far beyond my abilities. Someday, when I'm gone, my kids will sell this to a very lucky guitar player!
