Quilt Top, Tiger colour, Double cut away, Tune o Matic bridge, Grover tuners, 22 Frets, 5 Way selector, with mini toggle for Piezo option. Wolftone custom wound pickups, Mahogany with maple cap.

Absolutly stunning quilt and workmanship second to none.

Im no expert, just noodle around playing through a Cornford Carrera, this guitar rocks big time, its very clean, but turn it up a bit and wow, just awesome singing leads. With the 5 way selector you have the strat sounds and the humbucker sounds, with the added Piezo, it just is the best available. (Id like to play one better than this)

I traded the guitar with a PRS soapbar, but it was set up excellent by the last owner.

No problems here.

Just got it recently but its up there with the best.

The guys replies immeadiatly, so no worries.

Ive been playing for around 6 years, and in that time Ive had quite a few high end guitars, PRS, Tyler, Ginson, Fender.

The Tyler was good but this Heatley is the best by far covers all bases, so my other guitar a PRS Singlecut trem, may be going.

This is the blue quilted guitar featured on the front page of heatleys site and you can see more pics on the 2nd page of guitars sold under Dennis Lee's blue modern. Since this was custom made any way "I" wanted it, it must be a 10. I bought this from its first owner and am baffled he was willing to part with it-it is the greatest guitar I have ever owned or played. Master grade blue quilt top(forget a "10" top, not even close!), mahogany back and neck. The neck extends 10 inches into the body and the pickups are direct mounted(duncan JBin the bridge and '59 in the neck). Stoptail and 22 frets with a 3-way and pushpull coil taps. If I had designed this instead of dennis, I would have had 24 frets and a master 5 way switch. Other than these small details everything is PERFECT.

Let me give you a basis for comparison so you will understand my ability and the other guitars I consider great(every one gives their guitar a "10"). I came in 4th in the best guitar player in america contest and won an original ibanez petrucci guitar in a guitar competion-so I really know what I am talking about when it comes to guitars.
My favorite guitar was a '89 PRS classic and my second was the ibanez petrucci. I also really like les paul customs and the ernie ball vh guitar. I love Driskill and Brubaker guitars as well.
This guitar easily destroys all of them-it was very obious when I tried it against any of them. It is much deeper and more full than a les paul or prs custom 24 but is more clear and articulate at the same time-you would never ever say this guitar is muddy. The tone is much better than a brubaker, driskill or my early PRS. The clean counds are insane-no guitar has cleans like this-they are so real and authentic you can feel it like no other. Very "woody" it love it for classical and spanish guitar. As explained earlier the heavy tones are 2nd to none. I play heavy music in the veins of bands like the deftones crossed with tool cossed with system of a down. I like my heavy tone to be deeper-kinda like godsmack. This guitar is truley blistering!!!

Wonderfull action and playability. As stated earlier the reach would be better if there were 24 frets but it was made to someone elses order so it gets a 9 in that area. The finish and workmanship are a 15! No kiding, this makes a mcnaught look average and thats saying something.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Surley rock solid. It is so beautiful that I will be careful as hell playing live(I may just use it in the studio and in pictures-it is just so damn nice). This guitar will hold up easily-no question.

Customer Support : 10
He answers emails within hours! Ultra friendly and willing to do whatever needs to be done to make you happy-he really cares and is proud of his work. You feel like you can really trust him and that he will go any extra mile for you. Very impressive.

Overall Rating : 10
I am fickle as hell about guitars and I played it for hours against all the greatest guitars I have or that anyone else has looking for flaws or anything. There was no one who didn't agree that the Heatley obiously souded better in every area than any other guitar period. I can't say much more than that-he ruined me to other guitars. I will get another one when I have the money. The only changes will be 24 frets, a master 5-way and maby a deeper rout in the body so my hand can get a little higher on the frets. My stratavarious.

I am going to try and be subjective here but, I have fallen in love with this guitar so I am not sure if I can. It is a double cutaway that hangs very comfortably on your body. It has a 3-way pickup selector with Volume and Tone controls. It features Seymour Duncnan pickups a 59 in the neck and JB in the bridge which are individually splittable via push-pulls on the Volume and tone. It is made with a nicely figured mahogany body and neck and Quilted maple top and Cocabolo Fretboard. One of the cool things that makes it even more beautiful is the Rosewood headstock over lay. It has a tune-o-matic gridge and has non-locking Grover tuners. Nothing too fancy but, everything that one would need in a guitar. Anything more would be unnecessary and might hinder tone. It also includes an extended Neck thru that increases the acoustic properties, resonance, and sustain. Oh yeah there are no Fretmarkers on the fretboard just on the top. I can say this is that I don't even miss them.

My rig is a pedalboard with Voodoo Labs sparkle drive, Vintage TS-808, Boss CE-1 Analog Chorus, and Boss Analog Delay through a 69 Vibrolux Reverb. This guitar suits all the different styles that I end up playing very well. I play in sort of a variety type band with all original music but, everyone in the band tends to favor different music and everyone writes music so it all comes together differently from Jazz to straight out Hard rock. This guitar delivers it all flawlessly. It has a beautifully rich clean sound that just makes me melt. Then I turn on the Sparkle drive and I am in heave as it sings. Its tones range from piano like clean to violin like sustain with the Sparkle drive. Everyone in my band always comment on the tones that I get from this guitar. I have been through many, many guitars in the last 2 years and I think I finally got lucky and found the guitar that completes me. Now I just have to keep myself from getting a whim and selling it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was set up flawlessly. No problems in this department. The fit and finish were fantastic, I have never seen or heard anything nicer even in guitars costing 3-4 times as much.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I haven't done much gigging with it yet because my band is in the starting stages but, I know that I could depend on it. It just feels solid. I probably won't gig without a backup because there are times I need a guitar w/ piezo bridge but, hopefully if finances allow I can get Scott to make me another with a piezo and I will be able to take one guitar to a show.

Customer Support : 10
I bought it from Scott Heatley with no real warranty talked about but, I believe that Scott is a real stand up kind of guy and I trust he will do what he can to make sure things are taken care of.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 7 years and I have owned everything under the sun from Japanese Squires, Gibsons, Totem, Brubaker, Ibanez, US Fenders, G & L, Godin, PRS, and many more that I can't remember right now. This guitar outshines them all if it was stolen I would morn terribly and quickly contact Scott to try and get another as soon as possible. The only thing I wish it had as mentioned above is a piezo but, I hope to remedy that real soon.

My Heatley guitar is a 24 fret double cutaway guitar. ONE PIECE curly maple top, honduran mahogany body. Ebony fretboard, and three piece maple neck. Solid mounted pickups, strings through body, gold hardware. Double humbucker set up with coil taps. All premium and choice parts, I encourage you to visit his site for all the details and his philosophy towards guitar making. www.heatleyguitars.com

This guitar sounds fantastic. I play it through a Mesa Boogie 1x12 rectoverb. Absolutely silent guitar. Solid mounted pickups, chambered body, and his "honeycomb" top gave the guitar a great vibe. Seymour Duncan Blackbacks kept it from a 10, a bad decision on my part. Will probably get those changed.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Guitar played awesome! No Buzzes, great intonation, Low action. Pickups were solid mounted, good good stuff. Workmanship on this guitar was just impeccable. Finish looked very deep and as Scott has on his website, his finishes are thin but they look a mile deep.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar feels rock solid, neck joints, pickups, hardware, everything is fit perfect

Scott is very accomodating. I'm a huge huge bitch and he's been putting up with me.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar is really a bad ass guitar. Scott Heatley makes handmade guitars all by himself, with great dedication to his craft. Great guitars, great prices, and best of all he'll really work with you. For a custom guitar with absolutely everything you need, with a lot of interaction, go Scott Heatley.
