US made obviously. It was brand new in the store that had it from new, would you believe since 1988! The old price sticker read approx EUR 1300. It's a slim body telecaster with quite a thin neck, grover mini tuners, strat style headstock, Les Paul style bridge, dark cherry translucent finish over a (I truly believe) one piece body, wood unknown. Twin humbuckers, probably Schaller. It also has the Heritage D-variphase system, and four Les Paul style controls. Medium size frets. Anyhow, loaded with features, all top notch components.

This guitar has a wide range of sounds. Just getting through all the various vari phase, tapping selections took a pleasant weekend. I always like guitars with some messy bite (Neil Young style) but also that British clarity. It lacks the real heavy tele-twang, but that's not a sound I would use much. It's the best sounding guitar I've ever played, can't imagine a better one!
Action, Fit, & Finish

Even without taking into account that it spent 17 years hanging in a store(!!), it played really well right from the off. Took some minor setting up and trying various string sets until it was perfect. Everything works well, only minor flaw being the nut which could use some smoothing out on one or two strings. The finish is beautiful, the neck straight, and no crackles and pops from the electronics. It has such sweet smooth action but doesn't fold with abuse.

Although I think this guitar would stand up to gigging, I'll keep it in my house for now though. Due to the quality of components used I would use it without backup.

This is a great guitar. I'm not a really good guitarist, some of my friends are and they really rate this guitar. Even guys with endorsements from Fender and Gibson have told me they really love this little guitar! On a final note, I feel fortunate to own this guitar, I walked into the store and bought it without playing it, which is usually a stupid thing to do, but it worked out (there was another guy eyeing the guitar up, he followed me to check out to see whether I actually bought the guitar).
