This review based on a 2001 Heritage H150CM Gold Top Custom ordered w/ebony fretboard and Gibson style stop tail and adjustomatic bridge. What a beauty! I'm not sure about what is actually under the gold paint, but whatever those boys in Michigan used, sure works. (I suspect a maple cap on mahogany body...) The back side of the instrument is a clearcoat, so I do know that it is mahogany. Mahogany neck, with deep black ebony fretboard, and the finest trapazoid inlays that I've ever seen. Note to Gibson: REAL MOP inlays here... Came with original HSC, and some paperwork. VERY similar to the Gibson Les Paul Standard in design, but with a twist. Hard to nail down exactly what makes it different, but very much an enjoyable axe.

Sound : 10
Play through a small Laney TubeFusion and equally small Ampeg SuperJet, when not doing the D.I. computer thing or using the Ramsa PA system. Sounds great through it all. Typical LP HB tone and controls, and can be adjusted through Digitech RP21D to sound about any way I want to play it. I like that. I like that alot. I've had a Strat fixation for years, and could never get the tonal geography I wanted to play with, and heard others use. It was the single coils. I needed the HBs for the fatter, fuller sound. I'm happy now...(Thank you, and drive safely.)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Absolutely-friggin'-out-of-this-world-knock-you-on-your-backside PERFECT! These jokers KNOW how to put a guitar together, and DID IT with this one. I looked, and looked, and looked for a defect... It's not there. It's just not there. NO DEFECTS. The only kinda cheap-o feature on the finish is the name on the headstock. Looks silkscreened. Makes me wonder how the Koreans can inlay on a $500 copy, but the local companies can't on a $1500 unit? Hmmm... It would have been a really nice touch, and I think you can have it done as an extra for mo' cash, but to heck with that.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Seems like it's rock solid, but only had it for half a year now. We'll give it some time. I'm sure it'll hold up, and I think people are beginning to recognize the quality involved. The good ones are getting harder to find used on eBay. And prices are going up. I watch 'em. Every night. Some are so pretty they make me weep.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know, but heard it just fine. Hope I never have to use them in any way, unless it's to order another one of their guitars.

Been playing for about 30 years now... Still like to learn new stuff, jazz chords, etc. This Gold Top Heritage is my favorite guitar now, and I know I couldn't afford to replace it if stolen or lost. (Lost? WTF?)"Hey, anybody seen my Heritage Les Paul? I seem to have lost it..." I PRAY that nobody would make the mistake of trying to snag it. I'd have to open the proverbial can o' whoop-ass, and make 'em eat up. It wouldn't be pretty. If you like a LP style guitar, better check these out. Half the money or less than a G*bson, and better quality, as far as I can see. Go on now. Go buy one. If you don't like it, put it on eBay. I'll be waiting. Those people at Heritage have their sh*t wound real tight on these mothers. A fantastic job. Really.... If I could give 'em a "20" on this survey, I would.
