Pretty much a spring for the trem, which supposedly stabilises tuning, making it near impossible to go out of tune. Comes with instructions, there's also a video online about installation.

Doesn't affect the sound, really, just the tuning. However, doesn't work in the slightest, so has made my fairly expensive custom guitar useless, not staying in tune, therefore in that sense, sounding rubbish. I got it installed properly, it didn't work, so i got it removed and the guitar has never been the same. Don't waste your money on one.

Everything seemed ok, just wish it didn't render my guitar useless after fitting.

Looked a bit flimsy, but i had trust in it. I'll just say it again - doesn't work. My guitar has been sent away for repair to try and fix the problems the tremsetter caused. I should've left the strat-style trem as it was, it's ended up costing me much more in the long run.

Good at first when i asked about installation and stuff, but when i had a problem, they ignored one email, then on my second try at asking, said to try it again. Then have ignored me when i told them it didn't work. I wouldn't trust dealing with them again.

Terrible. Not worth it. I bought a new Charvel instead, with a floyd rose, to deal with trem stuff. May have cost around 30 times more, but much better value for money. I've been playing for 11 years, i use trems lots. Any strat style trem can be adjusted to stay in tune to an extent. The tremsetter won't help. It's a waste of money, time, and effort.
If it were stolen, i'd give the thief a reward.
Useless company, useless product. Short-cuts like this just don't work.

Its a little device that replaces one of the springs on your vibrato bar. It balances the tension with the strings more accurately and returns the strings into tune after you use the bar. Why this isn't standard on strats i don't know
Sound

It doesn't effect the tone whatsoever

It works perfectly and smoothly. I had heard that it made a little bump when it passed by the home-spot if you bent below and then pulled above standard pitch, but I have NOT found that to be the case for mine, of course i had it professionally installed, which cost about $20 or something, come on
if yours isn't working correctly, go get it set up correctly, uuuh derrrrr

I've been using it about a year and I can't recommend it enough for a strat.

This thing really works, i couldn't believe how well. I had it professionally installed on my 1971 4 bolt stratocaster. The vibrato bar was pretty useless before, now I can seriously get extremely aggressive with it and return into tune. Its not a locking nut floyd rose, but floyd rose systems destroy the sound of your guitar. it won't quite be as liberating as those are for not even having to think about tuning but I was really taken aback, I didn't expect it to work as well as it does.
If yours isn't returning your guitar into pitch correctly, go have it adjusted by a pro, it has to be set properly for your string tension. It really works. When I got it back from my luthier I made ridiculous divebombs up and down all day , and didn't have to touch the tuners for about 3 days. seriously. on a vintage strat. what do you want?

The only thing it does is it stabilizes the tuning when you bend strings, but that's about it, It makes dive bombs extremely hard, and when you pull the whammy bar up, it never goes back to tune unles you hit it down.
The main reason I bought it was because I wanted to have a more stable bridge, hoping it didn't go out of tune every time i rest my hand on it, But it actually made the bridge a complete nightmare, not only does it go out of tune when I rest my hand on it, it STAYS out of tune unless I hit the bar down.

Like I said it only does one of the things it's supposed to be good for, and even that thing which is to make bends more stable, is not good enough

If you really use the whammy bar you are not going to like how this thing feels at all, It becomes very hard to raise or lower the pitch, and when you do it it doesn't go back to tune.
Besides that, the bar is kind of locked in one position and when you use it you actually feel when the springs go back to their "original position" or Zero position as they call it because you feel like there was a little plane crash inside your guitar.

I don't know how durable this thing is (although it doesn't seem very durable), but certainly I don't want to see how much it lasts, because I don't want to have it on my guitar anymore.

I've been trying to contact them via e-mail since I bought the tremsetter, which was in the middle of january, and now we are in march and they have answered none of the six or seven messages I have sent.

This is not only NOT WORTH THE MONEY, but it is also NOT WORTH DRILLING HOLES IN YOUR GUITAR, I installed it on my Jackson RR3, and I'll always regret it.

This works. It will affect the feel of your whammy bar but then everything with guitars is a compromise. The guitar is no use to you on stage once its out of tune anyway, and you will just have to get used to the new feel, which at least you can now adjust. I put this onto a Schaller Floyd Rose licensed copy on a Charvel guitar and wonder now why I put up with the tuning problems and detune when bending a note for so long. You will need to drill a hole into the guitar next to where the springs are held in place in the trem cavity. This is not easy if you do have the skills or right tools. Next time I will get a luthier to do it for me, but even my ham fisted attempt worked. If you have an expensive guitar, think seriously about letting a craftsman do this.

I think you will immediately notice benefits particularly with a Floyd Rose because you can start to haul the strings around and use vibrato without affecting the overall tuning. I've got the tremsetter set to maximally stablise my strings and can start to think big Les Paul abuse now instead of constantly having to exercise restraint for fear of pulling that bridge down. Solos are now possible like on a fixed bridge, for example bending the B string note up to the same pitch on the top E. Prior to this the more you pushed the B, the more the bridge came down, as did the pitch on the E string you were aiming for. Net result - a unique sound.

Like I said I'm no woodwork hobbyist and drilling into the guitar's body is not for the faint of heart. You have to drill a straight hole parallel to the line of the trem strings within the trem cavity. Your domestic drill is going to be too big to fit in the cavity and control to do this perfectly. Unless you know what you're doing, I would not risk it with a cherished instrument. Ir will be cheaper in the long run and you'll sleep better at night letting a craftsman do this. Otherwise it involves changing the spring claw by unscrewing the screws with a screwdrive and unsoldering and then resoldering the earth lead.
I only give a six here to caution people that it is not a five minute job and you don't just drop it in and start playing. Some effort required.

Once I had fitted it, I tuned my guitar and thrashed the living spit out of it to punish it for all the nights it was out of tune after three songs and I had to stop gigging it. We are now friends again because of the tuning surviving the 30 minute ordeal(with my pre-stretched old strings) and its coming back out on the road. I really don't foresee any issues with the device wearing out.

I bet you never knew that the holes in a Schaller block are a different size to that in a Fender block, I found out the hard way. The initial attachment was too big to fit cleanly into the tremelo block, so I began to push and bend it and it snapped in two. I contacted the support team and they made me a smaller one and shipped it to England free of charge. Top flight support.

If you have got whammy induced tuning problems you can only eliminate so much by a locking nut, but you are still left with the problem at the other end of balancing string tension against a set of springs hoping that they will always return to the exact point at which you tuned them. If you have some hot shot tech working for you who can achieve this, you have my best wishes and admiration. For the humble majority this device offers a way of setting the exact return point and keeping you in tune. It will change the feel of the arm and it will affect the sound of the guitar - you 'll be in tune for once and without the downpull of a bent note the other strings will sound subtley different, so the "voice" will change. Maybe you like the effect of being slightly out of pitch but I now wouldn't consider a Floyd Rose type system without one of these being added and if I was going to start regular divebomb abusing my Strat I would add one to that.
I've been playing and gigging since 1977 and have tried most solutions that have come and gone in fashion starting with rubbing a pencil into the grooves of the nut. For all out whammy divebombing widdley diddley rock and roll, I think this may be the end of the evolution. There might be some digital tech approach in the future, but for the money you pay for one of these, provided you accept "the costs of doing business" I've outlined above, I would go for this. I've not seen any better approach to solving the whammy dilemma.

It doesn't really have features. I doesn't really need features though either. One bad thing is it eliminates your ability to do tremelo flutters, which are totally bitchin'.

So far it's been completely durable. I've used it rather viciously at times and nothing has happened yet. It looks like it could break since the main support is so thin, but no hint of weakness has shown yet.

I've been playing about six years, and whammying for a little over one. I use it on my Carvin DC127T with the Wilkenson trem, which isn't locking. It holds the guitar in tune much better than with just the locking tuners, but not perfectly. Heavy dives, especially fast heavy dives or hard shaking will put it out of tune, but not too bad. I took it out to play around with my tremelo, and I didn't understand how I played without it. It holds the guitar in tune through stretches perfectly 95% of the time, which is extremely helpful. It also keeps unison bends in tune, and the guitar just feels tighter, in a good way. It loses one point for not holding the guitar in perfect tuen, and the other for making the tremelo feel a whole lot worse. Before I put it in my tremelo was buttery smooth, but since I run this thing wound up so tight it makes is rather uncomfortable, at least compared to before. I do recommend it though, if you go out of tune or bend a lot.

Main person Al was helpful but complained about how it wasn't there problem it was Fender's, because it came on the guitar. I heard nasty comments in the back ground and cancled my replacement order. And will never deal with Hipshot again. They need to watch thier mouths when dealing with coustomers.
