This guitar was made in Germany between the ?68, ?69. It was a very special type of Hofner guitar. It has 23 Frets, solid top. 1 Volume, 2 Tone, 2 white-way selector down the bridge pickup. It has two 513 bar magnet Hofner Pick ups. Sunburst finish, golden Hofner logo, black finish on the pickguard, neck and shovel. Classic Hofner bridge and tuners of all the 172 models. It has 23 frets and rosewood neck. A cheap old gig bag inclosed, but i guess not original.

I play old rock'n roll, garage, psych beat style music and i use a Twin reverb. This guitar is a little rebel tiger on this amp. The sound is rich, wild and loud. it has 2 real great kind of sound. It's for this kind of music i guess; not for 70's or 80's.

The action is low, very well adjusted pick up and all the feature is great. The wood is of very good quality.

I played her in 2 live. This instrument can do the difference. The vibrato bar is enough good and the guitar keep the tune. Very good finish.

I play from 14 years. This Hofner for me is a great little surprise. I have another of these, of a similar model, good instrument, but this one is of another world. My friend buyed recently a similar 172 standard model with different 511 model pickups and different finish. I tryed it, and i guess it's a very good instrument, but not the same thing, not so cool. I like some old european guitars like Musima, Jolana or Japanese like Teisco, Aria, Zen On. This is one of my favourite solid body guitars.
