A german acoustic guitar with cutaway, handmade in the late 80's.
Originally it was available with or without pickups. Mine has 2, one on the bridge and one at the end of the neck, but I'm playing only acoustic. 2 controls, 2 strap-buttons and gold plated tuners. Nice binding around the corpus. 2 output-jacks.
The used woods are: Neck: Maple, Fretboard: Ebony, Soundboard: selected massive german Alpine-Spruce, Body: Rosewood. The block inlays are genuine Abalone.

The whole soundrange is great. Crisp highs, present mids and deep basses. Everything you need. Nothing to complain here.

I bought it used, but it hasn't any flaws. The finish, the woods, the hardware: everything is perfect.

This is the best acoustic I ever had (and I had many). Although the body is smaller than the one of a dreadnought, the basses are excellent.

Playing for 15 years now. My other guitars are:
Rickenbacker 330/6, Fender Highway Telecaster, Johnson 12-string (Ric copy), Lester California (Strat copy), Yamaha FG 413S-12 (12-string acoustic), Hofner HZ-27 (classical guitar)
If the HA 43 was stolen, I probably would kill the thief. If the guitar was lost, I probably would kill myself. This guitar is ultra-rare so I can't replace it.
I compared it to some other old Hofner's, a Yamaha FG 433S and a Fender, but everything was better on the HA 43, the sound, the finish, and I can grip very well. Of course it was more expensive than the other ones.
One dislike I have: On the tuners there's written: "Made in Japan". Jesus Christ! Hofner has a relation to Schaller since some decades. So why they are using japanese tuners for their most expensive guitar ever? (Price for a new one was about 1000 Euro incl. PU's.)
Anyway, the tuners are good. ;-)
