This is my standard guitar. It has that funny shape - looks like a crossing between a Strat and an Explorer. Besides my other beauties which I really love (Gibsons, Fenders, Hofners, Hoyers and my Tausch Tele ) this is the one guitar which has always given me the sound that I wanted. Practically speaking this is the only guitar that I really need. It has a 24 fret fingerboard which allows easiest access even to the highest frets. It has a solid mahogany body and neck. Schaller Tuners and a Hofner bridge. It is equipped with two SShadow humbuckers with coilsplit and out of phase option and it has that interesting Hofner multi-sound system which allows tho shift the resonance frequency. It is similar to a tone control but doesn't only cut the treble frequencies and is not active either - if you have the chance, give it a try !

Due to the coilsplit option and the multi-sound system you can create any sound with that guitar, from Strat to Les Paul ! Play it through whichever amp you like, you will always be satisfied with the sound !
Action, Fit, & Finish

Super - I mean everything is perfect on that guitar. Nice, fast playing neck with super low action. Very well balanced.
Reliability/Durability

I'm not gigging anymore so I can't say anything about that, but it is very solid and I am convinced that is also very reliable under live conditions. It is very, very reliable in the studio. It is equipped with Schaller tuners and Schaller locking strap buttons which I think are standard on that guitar.

Hofner have always been very helpful and friendly. I have been in contact with them for about 25 years now.

I have had it for 2 years now and since then it has been the one guitar which I keep within reach. I would definitely buy it again if it were stolen !
