This is the Hohner EBCG Classical Guitar. It has a solid spruce top, striped (Maccasar) ebony back and sides, an ebony fretboard and bridge, gold plated tuners with ebonite knobs and black rollers, and the circle of sound rosette. It also has a plastic nut and saddle, but only the saddle is black.

With the plastic nut and saddle the guitar sound is way short of its potential. I originally had to put a set of bronze bass strings on it to give the sound some depth. With silver bass strings it sounded weak and lacking. After I had a bone nut and saddle put on the guitar the silver bass strings sounded warm and full, which is what I was looking for.

The guitar at first kept buzzing when I played it and I traced the buzzing to the tuners. I tried tightening them but that didn't help. I also noticed that the holes on some of the rollers were a fraction off, making it difficult to replace strings. I replaced the stock tuners with a set of Gotoh tuners with ivoroid knobs. Now I can tune it and string it much easier. Plus the ivoroid knobs enhance the look of the guitar.

Now that I replaced the tuners, nut, and saddle the guitar sounds and looks much better. I have played it for some friends and they were impressed with both the sound and look. Since it has a solid feel to it, unlike some other guitars it its price range, I intend to keep it for a long time.

Since I bought the guitar used, the only warranty was from the dealer.

I've been playing the guitar for 40 years. I have two Ibanez electric guitars, a Dean 12-string acoustic, a 1975 Washburn acoustic, and two other classical guitars - a Fender CG-7 and an Antonio Loriente model Clarita.
This was the first guitar I ever bought without playing it first. I had played other Hohner EBCG guitars in stores but never got around to buying one of them. Since they normally sell for around $380 new I decided to buy this used one for $250 before someone else did.
I think this is a great looking guitar and has the potential to be a great sounding guitar if Hohner were to make it with better tuners and a nut and saddle made of bone instead of plastic.

This is the EBCG Ebony Classic Guitar model. It has a Striped Ebony back and sides, Solid Ebony bridge and fingerboard, Solid Spruce top, Maple body binding, Gold-plated tuners with ebonite keys, and a really nice looking rosette. It looks really nice, but nothing deserves a 10 in any category

Im studying classical guitar. This is my first classical guitar and I know that there is better. This was the best I could afford. I tried alot of other good guitars, many which were made in Spain. It has a different but good, clear, understandable sound because of the Ebony back and sides and the Spruce top. You don't see very many classical guitars with ebony backs and sides. Plus all my friends love this thing. If i wasnt cool with them, they would steal it from me.

As soon as I picked this guitar up, I noticed that it felt very sturdy compared to the rest I picked up. As for reliability goes, Ive only had it for about 2 weeks but it feels like it will last. In the long run I think the only thing that might need replacing are the tuners. Besides that i think it will last a while

A good product For a good price. like I said all my friends want it for the sound. Isn't that why we buy instruments? It looks nice too. I strongly recommend this guitar for beginers.
