This is a made in Japan dreadnoght acoustic guitar. It looks like a high quality Martin. I'm told it is all solid woods: mahogony and spruce, and the fretboard and bridge are rosewood. Also, the binding around the neck, as well as the dot markers, appear to be wood. Real nice work all around.

Sound : 10
This guitar sounds absolutely beautiful. If I went to Guitar Center and tried to pick out an acoustic based solely on sound, I'd end up with a $2,500 martin. This guitar sounds very much the same, and it cost me about 1/10 the price used. I'm told it has the same bracing as a D-28, so maybe that's the reason.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The neck and the frets are very comfortable to play on. Everything is well finished; the workmanship is top notch. I've never seen one of these before, and I probably won't see one again, but if I did I'd buy it. It's a real steal.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've only had the guitar for a little while, but it's probably from the 70's. If that's the case, it is in excellent shape for it's age. There are no cracks in the body, and the neck is straight. You can't see it, but there is a truss rod you can adjust from inside the body.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have no idea, but I would imagine whoever made this isn't around anymore.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for a long time. Usually, I buy only US made guitars. If money were no object, I'd buy a Martin. But companies like Martin and Gibson make it extremely difficult to buy a nice American made guitar. Even the used guitars cost a fortune. So your choice is to buy a cheap Martin or something like this. IMHO, this guitar blows away any American made guitar anywhere near its price range. I still think the best guitars are made here. But the best values are in these older MIJ guitars. Some of them are really nice. And this is one of the nice ones.
