Features : 9
Features:

Full body dreadnought. V shaped neck. Enclosed tuners, chromed.

Natural spruce top, top X brace, Flat top. Mahogany sides and back. Rosewood fingerboard. I think the neck is Mahogany. Holds it's tuning well. Lightly decorated with inlays.

Sound : 9
Sound:

Sweet, mellow. Light bass using lt. gage strings, bass better with med. gage but not as sweet. Good volume. Will hold it's own with any other guitar I played beside. Gets better with age. I usually use Gibson light gage strings.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action, Fit, and Finish:

Somewhere between fantastic and better. When it was about 6 years old, I had the neck redone. Two frets were changed and the neck was re-set at the luthier's suggestion. He also re-greased the tuning gears. I have heard other complaints that the tuners tighten up but these are still good. That was 26 years ago and it hasn't needed anything since. I have noticed a lot of guitars need to be re-set after a few years and then handle just fine for the rest of their life.

Inlays are all tight, the finish is still great, the color is great. The action says ?play me and play me as fast as your fingers will move?. The neck is a delight to hold, fitting the hand like the proverbial glove. Considering the amount this has been played, there is little wear showing on the fret board.

Over All:

I bought this in a hurry. My Fender acoustic had cracked so I wanted to buy a Yamaha. The Salesman suggested this and I instantly fell in love. This was about 2/3 the price of the Yamaha I almost bought. I used it on stage that night and it became my number one piece. Anyone who plays it agrees it is one fantastic guitar.

I now have arthritis in both hands and can't play anymore. I got rid of my old Gibson L5(a real beauty), an old, unknown model Fender 12 string (nice), and a beautiful Yamaha 12 string(aahhh), an early '60s Strat, and an antique Gretch electric(piece of crap), but kept the Hohner. My daughter will get this when she is ready for it.

I rate this near the best guitars made. It would take a lot of money to make me like another guitar better, though that Yamaha 12 string was pretty nice. If I could add something, it would be a cut-out but they weren't popular 30 years ago.

The only negative thing is just looking at it makes me wish I could still play.

This guitar was Made in Japan in March 1977. Solid spruce top with redwood back and sides. Straight acoustic dreadnaught style guitar with 20 frets. There are nice fret markers on this guitat with very nice bindings etc.

Sound : 9
This guitar has aged beautifully, nice warm sound with little to no buzz at all. The guitar booms when strummed and sounds great picked. I own Martins, Taylors, Larrivees, Washburns and this guitar holds its own with any of them.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I bought this guitar used and it came with a fast action, strings are pretty low and made to play. The frets were in good shape and I had the guitar set up by my tech and it is wonderful. These guitars are not well known but should be. They are a great bargain compaired to Gibson, Martin etc.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar has played many gigs with me and I depend on it to perform and it does not disappoint. I remember when these were new and they were maid to be played. Age has only added incredible sound to this guitar. I could gig without a back up with this model, but who does? I always have at least one other guitar with me just to be safe!

Never had a need to use it so I am not sure.

I own 10 acoustic guitars that are all quality instruments. Life is too short to play cheap guitars! I really lucked into this one, I found it in my local guitar shop, used for $500.00. After playing it I left the store and kept thinking about it. I know Hohner guitars but this one, Limited Edition Rosewood, really talked to me. I went back and played it several times and I couldn't get over the sound. I bought the guitar and never looked back. I don't know what I would do if I lost this one, it is not a guitar I have seen anywhere else and it was made in 1977 so it is not readily available.
I don't hate anything about this guitar, it plays and sounds really sweet.
