Not sure what year it was made, it was made in Japan. 24 frets. 1 volume, 1 tone, and 5 way selector switch. S/S/S active pickups. Came with a licensed Floyd Rose tremelo bridge. Strat archtop body style. Non-locking Grover tuners. FAT jumbo frets with shark tooth inlays.

Sound : 9
I play all kinds of rock, and I get GREAT sound with this. There are so many different tones I get out of this it's amazing. This is my only guitar with three pickups and a 5 way switch, so I have a lot of fun with settings and exploring what sounds I can get. No buzzing pickups. I can play clean on this and get a great buzzsaw grindcore thing going too. It's wonderful.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I made no adjustments when I bought it at the pawn shop. I put my 10 gauge GMS Boomers on it and was rocking right away. The Floyd Rose licensed bridge looks a little small compared to the ones on my BC Rich, but it plays great and stays in tune, even after repeated dive bombings.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar will survive a nuclear explosion. I took it apart, packed it in a sea bag, and had it with me for a year in Iraq. It survived the trip going and returning and I would have lost my mind without it. This guitar can take all the abuse you can give it and then some. I swear you could chop down a tree with this thing if you had to.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had a problem with it. I have a lot of guitar experience so I can do most repairs. I don't even know if Hondo is still in business.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing 20 years or so. I have a lot of guitars in my arsenal. If I lost this guitar I would be VERY disappointed. It became a great friend in Iraq and I have a lot of sentiment for it.

I??ve bought this guitar 10 years ago from a pawn shop.It is a Strat Style guitar in cream white, white pickguard, matching headstock, skunktstripe, bullet truss rod. Its called Hondo Fame Series 7600. 3 Single coils and 5-way selector.

Sound : 10
This guitar has an incredible sound spectrum. You can play that classic Strat sounds but also play that 80 hard rock sounds. For metal its not usable. I play it with Fender Pro Reverb Amp and 4/12-Marshall cabinet. This guitar outranges my Ibanez Strat copies by far. The PU soak sounds out of your tube amp - you cant??get with any other guitar I??ve owned.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar is high class made quality out of Japan. The tremolo base plate is 2 times as thick as the usual Fender tremolo. So you get more sutain out of it. I??ve been playing this guitar for years - the neck is in perfect action and had not to be adjusted. Overall the neck is the best of this guitar - it plays like my custom Fenders (no exageration). The finish is cream white and it aged by itself the years passing by (wonderful colour. Nothing had to be replaced because of the god quality of the guitar. Maybe the tuners are not so good (but at this period of producion the tuners of all manufactures were poorly )

Reliability/Durability : 10
It??s a work horse - undistructable. I??ve played it every weekend on stage for a several number of songs. The guitar is a everlasting companion.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I didn??t care of this.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing since I??m 16. Now I??m 40 and I??m still going strong with playing Rock and Blues. I??ve it would be stolen I would engage a private agent to cut off the ba..s of this damned rourke. When you get this guitar buy !

This one is cream with black hardware and pickguard, Floyd Rose kind of bridge with matching locking nut, Grover tuners, rosewood fretboard, typical Strat copy with volume and 2 tone controls. Nice neck, not too thick, not too thin. After more than 20 years the finish is still very nice and has yellowed nicely to give it a nice vintage color. Origin not known, possibly Japan or Korea. It was made before the Hondo II era.

Sound : No Opinion
The pickups are quite good, very hot (8500+ Ohm) with the neck and middle producing a nice growl with lots of middle and bass, and the bridge very twangy and bright. As any normal single-coil pickups they are sensitive to electrical interference and can be noisy. I play mostly accompaniment in rock and world outfits, so this is good enough for me! I use a simple Crate GX-80 combo with no effects pedal.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Very nice action, can be lowered quite a bit before getting the strings to buzz. The bridge seem well made as an imitation Floyd Rose, except the strings are a pain to change (it does work best with bullet-end strings, it does not have the real Floyd Rose system where you need to cut the end of the strings). Still perfectly playable. Pots are not scratchy, only the 5-position switch lever shows some corrosion. I removed the locking nut (one locking screw was missing) and replaced it with simple string retainers. I don't use a whammy bar anyways.

Reliability/Durability : 8
For a 25+ years old guitar this one stood the test of time, very solid, no visible fret wear. Looks very dependable. The finish is still good, the black hardware looks fine.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Which support?!?

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing guitar on and off for many years, this is not for professional use anyways. It's no Fender or Gibson but for $70 it plays amazingly well and is fun to use. It's also a vintage imitation Fender with the spaghetti lettering on the headstock imitating the Fender logo, which is a conversation piece. No one is likely to steal this guitar, if anything happens to it I'll buy whatever I can find!

I don't know where and when it was made. 21 frets, 1 volume 2 tone, 5-way selector. S/S/S pickup configuration. I dont know the type of woods that were used. Strat style body and bridge. Grover non-locking tuners. The guy at the pawn shop threw in a gig bag that was laying around.

Sound : 7
I play metal and rock. It suits me well for what I play. When it is pluged into an amp alone it sounds like shit, but when it is plugged into my effects unit it is a lot better. When I first got this about 6 months ago, it sounded a lot crappier than it does now. When the selector would be on the neck and neck/mid combonations, they would both sound the same, and that sound would be really muffled. Also, the tone knobs really didn't do much. With the volume knob, it sounded like there were only 2 settings, 0 and 10. That all changed when I pulled out my good friend WD-40 and cleaned the pots and selectors. After I did all of that, the sound improved greatly. There was one problem though, the bottom tone pot was dead. Ocassionally I still get that selector problem. The intonation on this guitar was awful. Some of the springs for the saddles are a little bit whacky and that made it a little hard for me to fix the intonation. I'm trying to find a cheap but good inexpensive assembled pick guard that I could get to replace the existing electronics.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I already told you my beef with the sound so here is the other things wrong the guitar. The is a 2mm deep chip in the back of the guitar that is a little bit larger than the size of a dime. Also, the tuners are a litte bit loose. The action on the guitar is a little bit high for my tastes and I would lower it if I could find some wrenches. That is pretty much it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
There is one good thing about this guitar, it is built like a tank. This thing has been dropped about 3 times and it has been fine. The reason for 2 of the times it has dropped is because of the strap buttons. Once, I was playing in mid song and both strap buttons fell out and the guitar hit the ground...hard. I picked it up to see if it would still play and it was fine. Then, I grabbed a couple toothpicks and glued them in the stap button screw holes, waited for the glue to dry, then put the strap buttons back in. The second time, the strap came off the button on the horn and then I thought to myself that maybe I should get some straplocks. If I were to gig with it, I would deffinetly use a backup. Or maybe this would be the backup to a different guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Well, the guy at the pawn shop was friendly.

Overall Rating : 7
If this were stolen or lost I would go back to the pawn shop and get a different guitar for 50 bucks. This is getting a 7 because of the whole sound factor. But when you get a guitar at the pawn shop, play it through an amp first to see if it is worth the money. In my case, this was a great first guitar for me.

Bought second hand in the 80's. 21 frets sunburnt top with leapord skin scratchplate. 2 pickups 3 way selector. tele style. Dunno what it is made of but it is very heavy

Sound : 7
The middle setting is very good for my style (rock, red hot chili peppers) unless you REALLY like treble i wouldn't use the other settings. I put it through a kustom (no idea what one) and its usually allright. Although the 6th strings always fuzzing

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The finish is great. All ive ever had to do is replace the strings. The pickup switch is a bit dodgy. the 3rd string is impossible to keep in tune for more than 30 seconds. Everything else is solid and works perfectly

Reliability/Durability : 8
It would probably fall apart playing live. If the hardware has lasted for 20 years itll probably last for 20 more. the strap buttons are great.the finish will probably last forever

Customer Support : No Opinion
bought 2nd hand

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing for about 25 years now. Incredible that it stil works. If someone tried to steal it. the part they were holding probably would fall off and the body of it would break their foot.

Year made??probably 80s, cause it's pink and looked a little disco/deco before I repainted it. Standard Strat setup. Laminated body. Heavy. Nice neck, best feature. Maple with rosewood. Heavy varnish. Bridge is a standard strat base with Floyd-Rose saddles (fine tuners). Stays in tune, but the sucker is a little high for a hand rest for my taste. Grover tuners work nice.

Sound : 9
Well, the middle pickup was DOA (got it used). So I added a high-gain distortion pickup in the middle position. The neck and bridge are pretty good considering Hondo stock--classic strat. The 5 way switch only works three ways... don't know if that is an original "feature". I use a Boss ME30 multi-effects, crybaby wah, and a Boss Metal pedal. The guitar is classic strat except for the Sentell over wound pickup I added. It gives great distortion but doesn't blend too well with the other pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action is very good. I like a natural wood neck with a maple fret board for a strat. But this guitar was abused and the neck is still in great shape, easily adjusted. I might change out the "Floyd-Rose" custom bridge for a traditional one. It's already too heavy and there's just too much metal in the way of my playing hand. The controls are cheap.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar has been through the mill. I broke it down, stripped the paint, repainted it, cleaned up the electronics, put it together, reset the action and it plays great. I put a funky salmon-aqua sunburst paint job on it since I live in South Florida and the guitar was pink originally. It's solid. too much moisture might break down the body laminates, though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
HONDO?? Could I contact them and maintain my self-respect... uhhh... no.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing guitar for over 20 years. I've gotten on an electric kick the past year and half. I own 7 now, including a nice Washburn, Jap Tele, Squire strat with killer pickups (it cries and sings). This guitar is a player. I haven't had it long, but I probably won't end up loving it because it's so heavy. There's just something wrong about a plywood guitar. With the nice action, a few upgrades might change my mind. I need a SD 59 Jr!

It's a strat copy and i'd say it's a good one too. I bought it from a second-hand store for $200 Aus dollars with all it's old features then I upgraded it, I shielded the inside, changed the pickups to 2 single coil and a double coil Seymour Duncan Pickups. The jack then got screwed up(u get these problems if u get second hand stuff) so I fixed it. It has a tobacco sunburst body, black pickguard and a maple finger board, the headstock looks much better than a strat's. The guitar has 21 jumbo frets, 1 volume knob and 2 tune knobs, 5 way pickup selector. It was supposed to come with a whammy bar, cheap second shop didn't give it to me so I got my own instead.

Sound : 9
It sounds sweet arse, especially through a 30 watt Marshall amp(dunno what kind the one with many knobs, with an Ibanez Smash Box, DOD Chorus Pedal, Dunlop Wah Pedal) It just sounds beautiful. I've also got a Zoom GFX 707 and I get to make weird sounds with it. I play mainly Metal and Alternative and it just fits my style.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
It had microphonic single coil pickups before I changed them to Seymour Duncans. The wood is supposedly good. Dunno much about the bridge and tuning pegs though.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's a good guitar, I use it to play for my school and a band me and my mates started, I jump around with the guitar and it doesn't seem to bother the guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Since it came from a second hand shop, they didn't give me any number to call. But for help with the guitar I go to a good friend of mine who repairs and fixes guitars and gives stuff to me like pedals and amps for a discount

Overall Rating : 7
It's a good beginner's guitar, I've been playing for a year already. If somebody stole it I'd probably bash the guy up, take my guitar, steal his money and get an Ibanez 7 string or something.
I love how it doesn't hum and gives off feedback with my pedals.
I've played other guitars including Squire Strats, Strats, 335 Gibsons, Jacksons. But I like this guitar because it's built almost like the way i wanted it to be, after i modified it :D

i have no idea when or where it was made. it has 21 jumbo frets and have 2 tone knobs, 1 volume knob, and a 5-way selector switch. the pickup i think are 3 single coils but i dont know who makes them. I dont know the type of wood the guitar is made of or the type of finish. its a strat knock-off. I think the bridge is a tune-o-matic and the tuners are grover non-locking. it didnt come with a tremolo/whammy bar but i guess you have to expect that type of stuff from buying guitars at a pawn shop.

Sound : 9
i dont really have any certain type of style, i just play whatever is on the radio. im running this through a digitech GSP PRO 21 legend, a dunlop crybaby, and into a shitty no name amp, but it doesnt sound bad at all.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion

this could stand live playing. the finish seems good. one of the strap buttons fell out but my mom fixed it.

never dealt w/ them

Overall Rating : 9
ive been playing for about 3 years and i own some shitty cort guitar, a DIGITECH GSP PRO 21 Legend, a Dunlop Crybaby, and some shitty amp that i think is a bass amp. my favorite feature of the guitar is that it works well. thats about it
