Year Unknown.. This is a true to form Flying V copy. The body is very heavy, probably mahogany. The neck is maple, 24 frets, that hold intonation like you cannot believe. The pickups appear to be DiMarzio's or P.A.F.'s, these flat out scream when linked to a pedal.(no matter what kind of pedal) there are 2 tone and 1 volume knobs. 1 split switch. all are reasonably well shielded, with no really 'bad' humming. The finish is a triple deep black laquer, with a touch of red underlay. overall fine finish, with little marring. Has a tune-o-matic tremolo bridge, stays in tune with no problem. non-locking tuners, jumbo frets. Can we say drag racer here? this guitar loves to be abused and played very fast, it seems the harder you play, the better it plays. would recommend this one to anyone who likes fast action guitars.

This guitar adapts to every sound I throw at it, short of bright Tele sounds. And I acheive that with a Pearl Overdrive, so no problem there. I run it through an old Silvertone tube amp, and it explodes into a fountain of sounds. I've an older Peavey that it really digs through also, again with barely any degradation of sound. Full sounding on both the bridge and neck pickups, no tin here. dislikes are that it tends to feedback too quickly when connected to a DOD metal pedal, which is probably understandable. But oh I like that Megadeath/Metallica sound a lot!!!

outwardly this guitar is finished well, with very little in the way of poor fit. The pickup buckets don't fit exactly right, and the strap buttons could be relocated. Bolt on neck fits like a glove, with zero buzz all the way up the scale.

Built like a friggin Sherman Tank... Would take anywhere and play and be confident it would be the same where-ever I took it. hardware would last with a good tech keeping it fit, anything will go to hell if you let it. Paint job is thick, with no apparent wearing down anywhere I can see. would use it on a gig without backup any day.

I've been a left handed player playing righty guitars for over 30 years, and, for obvious reasons, the flying V is perfect for my style of playing. I play heavy bar-chords, and stay away from the lead end of the stuff. I'm not a professional musician, and I barely play well enough to suit myself, let alone anyone else. But if I were on the road, this guitar would suit me everyday. If it were stolen/lost I'd be in a quandry to replace it, but I'd find one like it. I've owned and played many guitars, and I find it played every bit as well as the Jackson V I once borrowed from a guitar fiend I know. A+ in my book
