Purchased with the intent of traditional bluegrass guitar sound. This guitar is a rings like a bell with great base and excellent sustain. Classic mahogany sound - very "woody" and very loud and mics well. Switches easily from balanced tone to percussive without sounding harsh. Great low action that keeps it's integrity whether flatpicking, crosspicking or really bearing down hard on a rhythm. Everything I could ask for.

Great action, great finish. Very clean and beautiful but simple lines. What a pity that it has to be played and used.

I've played for 20 years. I own a 1973 Martin D-28 and play the daylights out of it. I've also owned a D25 Koa. I have played many many guitars and of course every one has it's own signature. As far as the traditional "woody" kind of sound for bluegrass as well as the ability to be played hard but keep the integrity of the sound, this guitar will stay with the best of them. I love it because it's not fancy looking. All the "fancy" is in the sound. It is a gem!
