Ibanez 2020 XAV

THis guitar is basically J Custom quality.In case you don't know, Ibanez has the double edge bridge on this which is a Lo-Pro with piezo saddles designed by L.R Baggs.The neck is 3 piece maple and has "no" scarf joint.THis is somethign people should take special notice of.Scarf jointed headstocks are a cheap way to build a neck so chances are that you will eventually have issues with your scarf joint.IF not sooner, then later on.

The body is Mahogony and is finished in a translucent blue.So overall, you aregetting a great guitar with good wood and solid neck construction.THe profile of the neck is ver comfortable.It is thicker feeling than the Ibanez wizard profile but definitely not huge by any means.Ibanez never does the kind of fretwork that a company like Suhr or Anderson does but that is not a huge deal for me since I have my tech level the frets on my guitars when I buy them.Since this guitar is less than half the price of a New Suhr, I don't mind.

THe guitar sounds a little brighter than a typicalbasswood RG models.IT is a little warmer for that reason and the guitar is put together well. I find it to sound excellent as far as super strats go.

THe pickups are average and I replaced them with a Dimarzio Norton, and Air Norton.THe guitar has a 5 way switch and 2 humbucker configuration as stadard hardware.The 5 way switch will split the pickups in position 2 and 4.

My rig is mainly made of a Boogie triaxis preamp,and 290 power amp.I sue my effects in paralell through my Sylsonic mixer.My Sylsonic mixer allows me to tap part of the preamp signal and send it to the processor and then recombine it with the dry signal.THis allows for the truest and most dynamic tone when using digital processors with your analog preamp.Email me if you have questions about the gear

I can't complain about the set up.I bought it used from Rich HArriss at www.ibanezrules.com He personally set it up and it plays fantastically.IT is nearly the best 6 string I have owned or played.

All the hardware works properly.However, the piezo and magnetic pups will not operate at the same time so a Double throw/double pole switch needs to be used in place of the stock 3 way mini toggle.It isn't a big deal.

The finish is nice but isn't as good as what you would get from Anderson.Definitely one of the better finishes that Ibanez offers though.

The guitar is ver solid nad has a solid neck.This neck is veyr stable nad moves the least of all my guitars.I would trust it out on gigs.Plus the piezo abilkity makes it very useful for getting a m,iced acoustic tone

Ibanez is not a good company for customer support unless something physically fails on the guitar and you need a replacement.That is hte only way you can get Ibanez to talk to you.

What can I say, the only thing this guitar hasn't got that is a 23rd and 24th fret! Beautiful finish, a real wood smell (Mahogany)everytime I open the hard case, dual humbuckers, and with the 5-way selector I can get every sound from a Les Paul through to a Strat! Fantastic neck, and what a bridge! The best floating trem in history has got to be the Lo-Pro Edge, and this little baby is packing Peizo's! Unbelievable sound through those peizo's!

This guitar has inspired me to no end! I have had it for ages, and still cannot put it down! The peizos are a tad bright compared to the humbuckers, but that is why god made EQ pedals! There is absolutely nothing else to even remotely complain about!

They do not call them Prestige for nothing. Utterly perfect! So beautiful to look at, and so silky to play! All of my friends are looking out for one!

The only way to hurt one of these guitars would be to really want to kill it! I am a very heavy handed player, and it takes everything I can dish out, and has remained the same as the day I got it! Makes my other/previous guitars look like crap!

I am 28, have been playing since I was 8! If this were ever stolen, I would buy another without any hesitation! (If I could live through the ordeal!) I will never lose it, as I take better care of this than I do of my family!

All the features are pretty much covered above. I play through a zoom 505 11 and a marshall solid state and find that having the choice of accoustic or electric on top of the FX is a dream come true and heaven for FX addicts. The Floyd Rose on this guitar is awesome and has a clip in arm which takes away the hassle of screw in arms and is extremely smooth and responsive.

Pretty much covered this above too so I will just vouch for the fact that this guitar has to be heard to appreciate the range of sounds from deep blues to Hard rock! And accoustic at the flick of a switch

Like any new guitar it needs to be set up. The finish is virtually faultless. though a little bit more attention could have been given to joins and also adding a truss cover

This is a new guitar so will have to bee seen

I Think I have fallen in love with this guitar and definately reccomend it to anyone, have fun with it!
