Mahogony body, 3 piece neck (no scarf joint thank God) Double edge trem and Dimarzio Blaze pickups.THe stock controls are the 5 way switch for the Dual Humbuckers, a mini switch for output options and a mini toggle for going between piezo and magnetic pups.
I am not crazy about the vintage violin finish but it looks nice. All the controls work ver nicely.

THe Mahogony body and maple neck allwo this guitar to sound a bit fuller than a typical basswood bodied RG. IT has some more high end than basswood and therefore sounds a bit warmer and fuller.THe piezo sounds veyr clean and does a nice job if you use that type of sound.I don't like the sound of Dimarzio Blaze pups.THey sound a bit harsh to me because the EQ curve is very scooped.By that I mean that the pups have little midrange response and the highs are a bit too sharp for my liking.I think the Evolution and Duncan JB or Custom 7 are better sounding pups.I replaced d the neck blaze with an AirNorton7

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I bought the guitar used so it had a few dings. Some guys jsut don't care care of their gear.I don't like hte vintage violin color alot but it is decent.Overall, Ibanez does a decent job setting up their guitars but not as good of a job as Anderson or Suhr.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It is a great guitar.Ibanez outdid themselves with the 3 piece prestige neck.It has a great comfortable profile and is actually extremely stable. I think the hardware will hold up well and the double edge bridge is a work of art and the only locking trem with piezo saddles

Overall the 2027 is an excellent guitar and I am sad that Ibanez discontinued it

2000 - Made In Japan. 3-piece solid mahogany body. 3-piece maple neck with 2 extra "wings" for the headstock. Rosewood FB. Two Ibanez-made humbuckers. Double-edge piezo Floyd system. Standard five way switch plus piezo/mag selector switch and piezo mode switch (piezo and mags combined into a single output or each to own output).

Sound : 9
Incredible piezo tone. Two standard humbuckers receive a lot of critism but they're actually decent pups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Awesome craftsmanship!! Not a flaw on this guitar. Woods utilized are all striking. Finish is beautiful. Low action - no buzzing anywhere.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I don't gig but this guitar appears very solidly built. Wouldn't expect any problems.

Dunno...

Playing for 16 years - have numerous other guitars by Fender, Godin, Charvel, EBMM, G&L, Heritage - craftsmanship and materials will hold it's own against any of these. I Love the guitar - very well built, excellent materials. Piezo bridge sounds very cool - I run it through a Boss AD-5 acoustic instrument processor. Standard pups are decent and cheaply replaced with true Dimarzios which can be had for $60 new from Musician's Friend. Guitar was relatively cheap. I like it better than the UV777BK I used to own...

made in 2000,in japan...has 24 frets, double dot inlays at the 12th fret(either MOP of Abalone), no other inlays, but has side dots. Violin Stain on mohagony body, with natural binding on the top, simply looks amazing, and very professional. 5way selector, dual humbuckers(i believe the stock v7,and v8) for 7-strings. on top of that has a piezo pickup built into the floyd rose whammy.(like petrucci's new models) 3 piece maple neck, the classic "strat on steriods" look.. has lo-pro edge whammy, better then the original edge IMHO. flat neck like any other quality ibanez, made for fast playing. I personally think that as a prestige model, it should have come with better pickup(though these are good) like Dimarzios...the tone zone, and a Paf would have been nice, they make them in 7string versions now, oh and there are dual outputs too

Sound : 9
Sounds amazing, i love it. the pickups sound good(odd cause i have a Rg570 with the pickups and dont like the way that sounded, so i put in petruccis) THe neck PU is very warm and great for doing really fast runs. and the bridge is bright sounding and very rockish. i try to play prog rock, as well as all other types of rock/metal. The piezo sound is great, it sounds just like an acoustic(electrified and amped of course) if you EQ you right its nothing short of amazing, great thing to have, allows every sound to be played with out switching guitars. i run this through an ultimate chorus amp(fender) not bad, but personally i am going to get a MEsa Boogie, and run, the out put for the pickups to the MEsa for ultimate crunch, and the piezo to the fender for a nice clean sound

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
was set up great from factory, slightly out of tune, but just a knob or too turned all fixed.. i actually had to order it, unless you go to a major city, the store probably wont have one in stock, i got it from the manufacturer, and amazingly it came in a week!! the finish is beautiful, now if your looking for a death metal look, its not here. i dont believe there were any flaws, this is a prestige model, and is inspected by 5 ibanez employees(so they say)

Reliability/Durability : 9
never played at a gig, just at friends house, never had a problem. everything is high quality and seems like it will last for a long time, provided i dont bang it into a wall or it doesnt fly outta my car on the highway. came with gotoh straplocks, which i like so much more than dunlop, they should last. i wouldnt gig with out a back up, because first off i like to have alot of guitars, plus i use my 6string to play other stuff.

dont think ive had to deal with the company yet, really dont want to have to.

ive been playing for 4 years, own 2 other ibanezs, a 570 and gx40(which i am hot rodding, or mutilating?) i thouroughly researched before buying, was going to get carvin, because i didnt want the rg7620, i dont like that too much, and was thinking about a universe. then i remembered this guitar i saw in the city once, and found out everything about it. and decided on this becuase ibanez makes excelent guitars, and the piezo is there too, its the ultimate, i also knew that Petruccis new guitars had the piezo, figured why not get this. i had this for i guess 5 months, and am really glad i bought it, if it were lost/stolen, i would try to find it, but id mostly likely id be getting a new one(and moving, or not playing at that club) or getting petruccis new musicman 7string. the best advice i can give you is, save up and buy the quality gear, dont settle for the lo end crap, eventually youll buy it, why waste the money on extra crap, when that can be put towards more gear, if your not a gear head, then stop playing, you can never have too much equipment!!!
