Excellent rock guitar. It beats my customized Strat sometimes. As the Ibanez site states though, this guitar is not made for shredders. The lower model pickups (G75) can give off alot of hum. The pickups on the 220 however, are very well balanced between tone and volume. The top is made of mahogany, which I find is pretty good. 24 frets, for those of you that like getting those higher notes. 1 year warranty included from where I bought it.

My setup: 220, Zoom 505II, Boss MT-2 into a Peavey Rage 158 hooked up to a Peavey cab. Excellent sound on clean, and a standard tone-filled sound with distortion. Amazing wah effects. Very rich sound compared to my custom.

The sides are plastic coated, which makes for easier sliding. Color selection could be a little better. For anyone who's seen a 220, it's red/black. The site describes this color as Blueberry Transparent...Odd isn't it?

I've played live with this guitar, and it has put up pretty well. A few scratches here and there from heavy picking, but not very noticible. Strap buttons are very solid, good for high jumps and such =).

Haven't delt with Ibanez...yet.

Beats my custom for rock. Beats buying an RG too for those of you who like playing in Dropped-D. Has the features of a PRS with the Ibanez name. Mahogany top, 2 humbuckers, plastic nut (could be bone) and double cutaway.

I purchased this guitar a number of years ago. It is virtually useless in the factory setup. I replaced both of the "powersound" Ibanez stock pickups with EMG81's which contributed marvelously to the sound, and i replaced the imitation floyd rose with a real one that locks and actually does stay in tune. Looking back, it irritates me that i was tricked into buying this guitar because of my inexperience. The bridge is purposefully made to look almost identical to a Floyd Rose, however it has no likeness whatsoever past that. All visual similarity is merely trickery to persuade inexperienced players to buy it, thinking they are getting a deal. I am embarassed to say i fell prey to this in my youth. But the stock setup is two wimpy humbuckers, a poor quality locking nut, and an imitation Floyd Rose bridge. However, the tuners are of good quality. The neck also has an excellent fast feel to it, but the action is too low and causes excess buzzing and poor sound. Electronics are not of exceptional quality either. But if you make like i did and spend 500 bucks upgrading this thing for fun, it can come out to be okay. The other reviews of this are from solid newbies, but then again, thats what this guitar was made for. I suppose it is a fine starter guitar.

The setup and components dont suit any musical style. The humbuckers are so wimpy the guitar is virtually useless. Almost no versatility at all. I made it worth owning by adding two EMG81's and a real floyd rose setup. I'd suggest you just buy a guitar with those things already on it if your ear is trained enough to notice the difference.

The guitar was hardly set up at all at the factory. Action is extremely low and buzzy, adjusting pickups would make no difference because of their poor quality. Fret dressing leaves a hell of a lot to be desired, this contributes to its poor playability. Routing is fine, neck fit is good, neck joint is excellent like on all Ibanez RG's. Finish is weak, Color kind of lame but that doesnt mean much.

I've had to fix strap buttons a couple times, Hardware has all been replaced, Finish is thin, Fairly dependable now, but not with original components, and i certainly would not use it without a backup.

Ibanez is a pain in the ass to deal with unless youre a superstar. Dont return calls, dont tell you anything useful, dont seem to care. Buy Sadowsky.

I've been playing for many years now, own loads of processors and a number of excellent guitars and amps. If stolen, i wouldnt bother to replace it. I do like that i dont feel too bad about it and that i'm not worried about experimenting and messing with wiring and stuff like that. I wish it was a different guitar.

I dont know what year i have. it has 24 frets, volume tone, and three way toggle switch with two humbuckers. The finish is a very nice looking silver. It has floyd rose tremolo, and its stays in tune great, even after dives that leave the strings dangling literally off of the fretboard. It has locking tuners, which is kind of a pain, but they help the guitar stay in tune way better than if it didnt have them.

this guitar has an awesome sound for metal, alternative, and even blues. its relatively quiet, except for when i switch the toggle. it can go from bright and clean to muddy. when it is on the bright and clean (bridge humbucker) it can make all those squeals and shreaks like pantera and van halen.

as i understood, the guitar was not set up at the factory, but the music store set it up for free. i set the pickups a little higher and i love the sound. the only compaint i really have here is that the intonation is very hard to set, and takes forever.

This guitar is solid, and the finish doesnt look like it will fade, peel, or anything. i would use this at a gig with no backup.

ive been playing for around 7-8 years, and i started with something called a series 10. from there, i went to a strat, and now to this, and this is the best guitar between them. if it were stolen, i would probably get the model up with the shark fin inlay, just because it looks cooler. it plays easily, very fast. dont listen to the other review guy, i dont think hes been playing long (...my fingers hurt...)

I'm just starting to play, but I've already mastered several Jimi songs and some Steve Vai and I think this guitar sounds really good, especially loud.

It is difficult to hold down an F chord, so my dad says he might take it back and have it looked at.
My fingers also hurt after playing for awhile, so I'm not impressed...

I have never played live, but hope to start an Oasis tribute band, so I will use it then.
