It's got the same basic features as any Les Paul-style guitar, so I won't go into great detail. However, in researching this model, I've noticed a number of slight variations, mostly cosmetic, depending on what year it was made - things like headstock design, logo, bindings, etc. I'm not positive what year mine was made, but it's in the vicinity of 1975.

I bought mine used about a year ago and it was not in total stock shape, as evidenced by the chrome hardware and gold tuners. However, I changed the gold tuners for a set of chrome Sperzel locking tuners (fantastic). I also swapped the pickups and put chrome covers on them, but more on that later. Mine is black with the white bindings on the front and back of the guitar, but not on the edge like some other 2350's I've seen pictures of. Mine also has the tulip inlay on the headstock rather than the split diamond like some of the others.

Sound : 9
It's hard for me to accurately talk about the sound of the guitar in stock condition since mine had some mods done before I got it. Initially, the neck pickup was extremely loud and boomy and the bridge was weak and thin. Not surprising since I discovered when swapping the pickups someone had put the neck pickup in the bridge and the bridge pickup in the neck. The neck pickup was an Ibanez Super 70 and the bridge had no name on the back. I had a couple of other humbuckers laying around from some other guitars and I decided to give them a try. In the neck I installed a Seymour Duncan Jazz and in the bridge a Gibson 500T. Both were black open coil pickups and I put chrome covers on them mainly just for looks - the guitar looks awesome now. Since these aren't the stock pickups, I won't talk too much about them. But briefly, the Jazz sounds great in the neck - it's warm and smooth with plenty of clarity and note articulation. The 500T was a major surprise however. I'd heard this pickup before and was not that impressed with it, but I figured it would be better than what was in there. But, wow, this pickup in this guitar totally rocks for high gain distorted leads, which is all I ever use the bridge pickup for. The sustain is beyond belief - the best I've ever had on any guitar in over 30 years of playing.

I use this guitar for classic rock, blues, jazz fusion, etc. and it's great for all of them. My lead tone is very Santana-influenced and this guitar (with this pickup) nails it. I have a number of friends who are skilled guitarists and they have been very impressed with the tone of this guitar. But once again, I can't really comment on how it sounds with the stock pickups, although I've read very positive reveiws about the Ibanez Super 70 humbuckers. So my rating is based on the guitar with the changed pickups. I've got tube and solid state amps (Mesa Boogie Studio 22+/ Fender Princeton Chorus) and it sounds equally good with both of them, as well as direct into the PA system through a Zoom G9.2tt or G2.1u. I've also gotten good results recording it direct into my ProTools setup.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Not much to say in this category since I bought it over 30 years after it was made.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The fact that it's still hanging in there over 30 years later is a testament to it's durability. It's obvious that this guitar was not babied - it's got it's share of nicks, dings, and scratches. But it's still totally solid and I have gigged it without a backup, although I usually don't make a habit of doing that.

As I mentioned above, I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and own a lot of other equipment - Gibson Les Paul, Fender Strat and Tele, and more. I originally bought this at a guitar show (actually I got it in trade for a Fernandes Sustainer guitar and a couple pedals - but the price tag on it was $350). My plan was to use it as a secondary or backup guitar (a "beater"). However, it sounds so damn great, after the pickup swap, that I use it lot more than I had planned. It's definitely comparable, and in some ways, superior to my Gibson Les Paul.

I don't like guitars that weigh a ton, and this one is slightly heavier than I would like, but still within an acceptable range - nothing like the Les Paul Custom I had a few years ago that felt like it weighed 15 pounds. Since then I've wanted another black Les Paul Custom- style guitar, and when I saw this at the guitar show I thought this would be cool to have in my collection as a second line guitar. But it has totally exceeded my expectations and I am really enjoying playing this guitar.

Sound : 10
Fur meine Musik: perfekt!

Customer Support : No Opinion

picture yourself a black les paul custom but it says "Ibanez" on espaguetthi logo. 1978 japan made 22 frets 2 tone 2 volume 3way switch 2 sweet n warm hums bolt on mahogany body, this one says "77" on serial and has the "no moustache" headstock, the axe still stock on everything an two or three good rock n roll scratches, its built like a tank, original case, even the original "leather" strap, just straight forward rock to jazz axe, with killer look , even my mother enjoy to look at that guitar!!!

Sound : 10
y mostly used fender tele and gibsons, i discovered this amazing sounding guitar as the cool high output guitar that anybody got to have into collection, y use mostly standard vintage and modern analog stompboxes , electroharmonix, boss , and jim dunlop stuff, and other oddyties as very dirty fuzz stuff. Plugged into my 1977 twin reverb you really got that rounded sound, and i play it loud LOTS of sustain w/ stock pickups, very quiet operation, I use the guitar for rock but fret action will allow you whatever style you want just remember change your haircut. in my case if you put a 78 guitar with 70-80s fx boxes and a 70ties fender imagine how sounds

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
when i got the guitar it was already tuned very good and its calibration is actually in good shape for a guitar that is two years older than me, minor details around for finish a good overall level, remember those 77-78 ibanez had a lot of experience with those guitars, 28 years later i got to replace the 3way switch cause it doesnt stay at much into rythm position but still working quietly, i will replace it on year 2025...jumbo frets

Reliability/Durability : 9
y use it live, it will last almost forever if you have a good guitar care, you wil need a good strap for this one

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A ssshhhh dont even tell ibanez that you have this guitar!!!!!, they should make them again mmmm better no

Overall Rating : 10
i have two years with it, i have a new ibanez 2354 (SG) 1973 also and a american telecaster fender 94, as mains also owned fender mustang 74 gibson sg especial 64. fender twin reverb 1978 . yeah i wish i asked if there was another f this guitars around, if it where stolen or lost shhh don even think about it, i never leave this one in no place than my room if its not in my hand, cool for small hands soft action, les paul owners feel this guitar very close or even better than many LPs around, forget about epiphone get one like this and get a serious guitar, i got this guitar from a exchange for a NEAT fender mustang 74 (wich sounded witout a scrach but i didnt enjoy that guitar as much as this ibanez even beeing a little more expensive)

original pick-ups sound great , love the sound with tone turned down,
perfect for blues and rock .

ajusted trus-rod ,lowered the action wich is better than a fender close to gibson., allmost a "fretless wonder". Neck is not thin but is narrow , not for big hands.
Flawless apart from one rattling machine head.
Good player.

Ibanez les paul custom 2350. Black beauty. Made in Japan in 1976. In the time of the lawsuit made by Gibson. 22 frets. Bolt-on neck. Two humbuckers. Actually... what more do you need?

Sound : 10
Now we're getting in to business! The sound is absolutely fantastic!!! I use a Marshall drivemaster and a Marshall 2553 with it and it's as perfect as it can get. The sound of the neck pickup is very fat.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Great playability. Not for shredding - at least not for all kind of shredding but I can do almost any kind of sweep pickind and all sorts of things with it. The action is very low but there are no fret buzzes. Something I've never experienced with another guitar. It's old but in great condition. They don't make them like they used to.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar can do it all. Great for both studio recording and live playing. It's built like a samurai sword.

If it was stolen I guess I'd have a hard time finding another one of this quality. I love this guitar! But sometimes you got to let go of someone you love. I'm selling it in need of money. Maybe someday I'll find a new love... ;)

This is a 1972 mod#2350 Ibanez Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. It can be seen in one of the first pages of the 1998 25th aniversery edition catalog from Ibanez. Apart from the Gotoh tuners and the tail pieces its in complete original shape. All the Hardware is now in Crome witch matches better with the inlays. It came with the original ugly and heavy case.

Sound : 8
It is so round in sound I fall off my chair playing it. I run a sucsessfull studio deal. Lots of the artists who have heard the sound insists me playing fills on their songs. So the clean light overdriven modes suits this gitar wery well. Its not much of versitail gitar in that sense. I've actually played this guitar at huge live metall gigs, when I was young. Sqeeching is kind of a problem for it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
This gitar was made eight years befor me and the action is wery low but not buzzy. The guitar is well made and doesn't really show it's age. The finish has sustained some blows and is therefore not flawless. But there are no HUGE blemeshises.

Reliability/Durability : 4
Its now becoming so rare in this good condition that it will be unwise to punk around with it. But adult behavioure and mellow mood suit it to the peg. I will shurely stay in its shpe for years to come if treated with care and knowledge.

You dont get help for Ibanez's in Norway if your not i millionair.

I've had this guitar since at started with music five years ago. I relly do love it. If it was stolen I would track 'em down and kill 'em, twice! The thing to love about such a guitar is it durability. I've dropped on its head and worse but not a mark on it from that. Thats quality! I also own a Ibanez UV7 rebuilt by a legendeary deceaced Norwgian gitarist named Marius Muller. And finally a Ibanez RG470TRB signed by Dream Theaters John Petrucci.
He wanted to se the Custom wich he'd never seen before. Then he signed my babies. BLESS HIM!
