Features : 10
Les Paul shape, ash body and neck with an ash german carved top. 2 gold plated super 70 humbuckers, i think, with the ibanez logo. Small toggle switch which i think is for phase select of neck pickup.
Other than that its basic Les Paul layout.
Mother of pearl tree of life vine inlay and ornate scroll headstock with the old Ibanez logo. All hardware is gold plated or at least was when new it's now very worn ( aged to perfection ?, no just shitty looking ).
I say it's a Randy Scruggs model even though it was sold as a Bob Weir professional as it most closely resembles that model but as there is no serial number or even marking on the truss rod cover it could be anything, even a fake, who knows? I for one don't care.
I won't rate it for features as it always seems a waste of time, lets face it pub / bar room posers go for features, players go for feel and quality which this guitar has in bucket loads so 10 it is.

Sound : 9
Not to everyones taste i would have to say. Not massivley versatile in that it won't sound like a strat or a les paul, it sounds like itself which is very articulate although somewhat dark. You really have to find the right amp set up to compliment its unusual sound so jack of all trades it is not but as a unique and powerful sound you can't beat it. It reminds me of the bassier Zappa tones from the mid 70's or the ballsier Santana tones. It doesn't do clear sparkle sounds, having said that the clean tones are very good and almost jazzy. It reminds me most of the guitar sounds i used to hear on live captain Beefheart shows. I play through a Proamplifiers VSQ 65 all valve amp or a Cornford Harlequin and it works well with both although i generally only use a Boss Vwah and a variety of overdrive boost pedals with this guitar anything remotely time based turns the sound into mush due to the odd low frequency response of the guitar.
I rate the sound for quality of the tones it does produce and not versatility.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Okay this guitar is probably made sometime between 1974 and 1976 and obviously the gold hardware has suffered visually and there are a few dents, scratches e.t.c as the thing has no doubt been played to death but it is still solid and stays in tune remarkably well especially as the D tunning peg is bent. The action when i bought it was so low it was obsene with very few rattles which did not distract even unplugged and this was with 11 to 52 strings. I have replaced the strings to 10 to 50 and raised the action considerably to my liking. All this with no truss rod adjustment and now absolutely no rattles only a small intonation reset. There is a small gap in the binding at the cut out and the frets will need replacing soon but i am loath to get this done as the guitar plays and looks so wonderful but it will become a nessesity for a fret job soon, ohh well as peter green might ( or indeed did say ).

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar has withstood 30 years or so of playing and i hope to give it at least that again. No rest for beatiful guitars.

Customer Support : 1
I keep meaning to send Ibanez an email asking about this guitar but have not got round to it yet. If however my experience of trying to get a replacement tremolo bar for my 1988 ibanez jem is anything to go by i probably won't bother at all. I got a local machinist to make me a replica in the end for #5 les than a genuine item would have cost me, if i could have got it.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 25 yrs love Zappa mostly but like Hendrix, Page, Trower and just about every other good guitarist there has ever been.
I have or have owned most commonly regarded guitars.
I play rock, Jazz and folk mainly but never let perceived labels bother me.
In my next band i would like it billed as Humour rock jazz ragga metal classical pop grunge sleaze music, ohh and just to be different play a three hour set of just acoustic chamber music....for a laugh like.
