not sure when it was made, it says made in japan but i know it is a limited edition model and was assembled in a US Custom Factory. 22 frets w/shark tooth inlays and 'custom made' fret inlay on 19th. S/S/H IBZ USA pickups (i am pretty sure they were made by dimarzio for ibanez, are not on dimarzio website). wizard neck. edge pro trem, rounded strat style, jewel blue. passive pickups. 5-way switch, 1 volume, 1 tone.

i like to play blues, metal and satch (joe satriani)(whatever category you can put him in!), and this guitar is pretty good for all of those things, harmonics both pinched and natural are a dream to pull off on this guitar, especially with the whammy bar. i sometimes think i would like a bit more power on the neck pickup like the PAF Pro, but it doesn't bother me if i use a good amp (i have a fender frontman 15w,...dont laugh)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the guitar was perfectly set up, had just had a respray. as far as i can see there are no problems like trem going out of tune, maybe slightly, but it is to be expected with new strings. the wood on both the body and the neck is superb, great even unplugged. whammy bar is a bit loose but i think thats because i bought it form my guitar teacher who bought it from his teacher, so it been around a while, can probably tighten it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
the hardware appears to wan tto last forever, the bridge is solid, would almost certainly withstand live playing (only had it a short while). ridiculously solid strap buttons. you should never gig without a backup and especially because of the locking trem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 10
i have been playing for over four years, own a crappy ibanez GRX 140, a crybaby wah, a zoom 505 pedal (surpisingly good btw). is the best guitar ive played, and ive also played a gibson es-335, it sounds almost the same, gibson is more bluesy, but this is MUCH MUCH easier and more comfortable to play. like i said i sometimes want to put a PAF Pro in it and sometimes i think i dont need it, down to personal opinion and the mood your in! best fearue has got to be the neck, fast as hell and a dream to play. hum pickup= v. good for stock IBZ US F3.

1992, made in Japan. 22 jumbo frets, super-thin neck. Active H-S-H configuration, 5-way switch, 1 tone, 1 volume control. Double-locking Edge trem. Aerofoil body design - very comfortable. Side jack for leads. Good strap buttons. Bought second-hand, so strap, picks, slide, case were all included. The 10 refers to the fact that I received these extras as well as the features on the guitar.

Sound : 10
Now this is what a guitar is for, right? To sound good. And boy, does this sound good. A fair amount of this is probably due to the little device that the previous owner installed to make the pickups active. This guitar can cover blues, shred, and most things in-between. It'll even do jazz on a clean setting - which is where my only grievance lies. It loses volume when switching from the humbuckers to the single coil. But as I rarely use it unless I want a quiet sound, it's not a problem. Hence the 10, but others may find it 'a bad thing'.

Harmonics (all kinds) are made superbly easy, no more major digging in to get the squeals.

I'm playing it through a Dunlop Wah and an Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer into a Marshall G80RCD. My settings vary, but it still sounds great. Smooth, full, chunky. Just the way I like 'em.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Low action, stable trem, no flaws. Perfect condition.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Well it seems to be built like a brick shithouse. So I'd say it'll hold up to most forms of abuse. I'd keep a backup, due to the locking trem though.

Playing 12 years. Own a Fender strat (put together from other Fenders). This guitar is exactly what I've been looking for. Nice body design, lovely colour (metallic red), extremely stable trem, fast neck, great pickups, versatility. Even the jack design is a nice touch - it doesn't get lose like Les Pauls and Strats can.

If it were stolen, I'd be devastated. It's a fantastic piece of work. My favourite feature is the trem - it refuses to go out of tune. But everything else is also very good. Proof that Japanese quality is just that. Quality.

I bought this guitar over ebay...it is guitar #17 or so out of my collection. The neck is thin and fast, is graced with beautiful shark fin inlays and feels smooth to the touch. The body is thin, color is a gorgeous deep blue/purple and is very comfortable and light. I have owned this guitar for about a year. Compared to the quality of some of my other instruments (Tom Anderson etc) the guitar is about middle of the road as far as quality. I would like a heavier guitar as I feel that the tone of this guitar is thin comoared to other Ibanez guitars that I own, namely my Paul Gilbert PGM40 which is most excellent

Sound : 5
The guitar is THINNNNnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn I have a Marshall JCM900, a Jubilee Marshall, and effects processors out the wazooooo. Through a straight to the amp set up, the guitar is sub par, thin...it fairs better with effects...if you plan on having rack effects and a power amp the guitar is fast and comfortable and a good vehicle to drive a processor..this guitar is good for metal

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The guitar has electrical problems for some reason, crackling etc, the neck is a little rough, this guitar appears to be a middle of the road quality instrument..for the 400 that I paid, I was satisfied...but, I do not play this instrument that often..action is very good but I feel there is not enough to grab on to with the neck

Reliability/Durability : 5
I would never gig with this guitar, it doesn't sound good enough, if I were to gig out, I would use an American Jackson, my TOm Anderson, a Les Paul, or my Paul Gilberg Ibanez...the pickupss succcckkkkkk bigg time, they are weak

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never tried to deal with the company

Overall Rating : 5
I have been playing for 17 years, I love metal and bought this guitar because Alex Skolnick from Testament, one of my heros, played this guitar....I am not the least bit in love with it and if it disappeared, I would be upset because it was Skolnick's model, not because of the guitar itself, I have American Jacksons, six other Ibanez guitars (of which I can only recommend my Paul Gilberg PGM40), a Tom Anderson, Les Paul Custom Plus, Gibson SG, Parker fly, charvel (awesome awesome guitar made for metal much better quality wise than anything Ibanez could dream of)

Made In 1991
22 Frets
Solid Basswood Body
1 Volume, 1 Tone & 5-Way Selector
H/S/H Configuration. Ibanez/DiMarzio F1/C3/F1 Pickups
25.5" Scale Maple Neck With Rosewood Fingerboard And Sharktooth Inlays
Double Locking Ibanez Lo-Pro Edge Floyd Rose Licensed Tremelo

This guitar was the pre-Satriani JS Ibanez Radius Guitar. It has the same aerofoil rounded strat shaped body as the JS, but it has a middle single coil pickup and the super thin Wizard neck.

Sound : 8
The combination of the basswood body and the DiMarzio pickups give this guitar a suprisingly good sound for a "shredder" style guitar. With creative use of the tone, volume and selector controls you can get a wide range of sounds. This is however mostly a hard rock/heavy metal guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar came set up perfectly. Very low action and a properly set up bridge. All of the hardware was flawless and the gloss black paint was perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I have had this guitar for 11 years now and it has held up great. The basswood body is fairly soft and it has sustained a few dings over the years, but none of them made it down to the wood! The paint is still as shiny as ever.
I have used it live, in the studio and everywhere in between without fail.
Because of the locking tremelo, I always have a backup (an Ibanez SCA-220)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with Ibanez.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for over 13 years.
I currently own an Ibanez SCA-220, a Marshall TSL-602 Combo, a Morley Mark Tremonti Power Wah, a Digitech Genesis 3 processor and various stomp boxes.
If this were stolen I would probably buy a new Ibanez JS-1000
