Bought new in 1975. I went into store buy a Gibson or Martin acoustic. After playing every high end guitar in shop I bought the one that sounded the best with great feel and action.
Made in Japan. 20 frets Dreadnought. Fine grain spruce top very thin laminate top, laminate rosewood sides and back. Adjustable neck with small cross-section. Chrome smooth tuners. Rosewood neck and fret board. Very nice binding and large rectangular fret markers.
High quality Japanese guitar. Unlike today's cheap laminate guitars this guitar was well made and still plays as good or better than new.

I have played electric and acoustic for over 40 years. I played professionally in 1960's. I play a variety of music and styles today. I'm currently in a Bluegrass phase. I thought I'd write this review because of all the praise this guitar gets at the Bluegrass jams. Seems nobody can believe how good the sound is from a laminate top guitar - full harmonics, booming bass and trebles and full mids. This guitar sounds as good , if not better, than my Martin D16.
In 1970's many guitar makers were switching from solids to laminates because the laminates were thinner for same strength and sound, plus good quality laminates are not prone to cracking and splitting.
Unfortunately, a lot of cheap laminates flooded the market about the same time and players began to associate "laminate" with "bad". Seems we've come full circle again - check out the new laminates from Martin, etc.

This guitar was pretty good off the shelf. However, guitar shop customized action for my personal playing style on the spot. (I don't see this type of service anymore....sad. Many of todays guitar shops don't have an experienced luthier - just wanna be's.) I've had more than one guitar "ruined" by music store techs. I now go to experienced luthier shop!

I've been playing for over 40 years. I have several acoustics. I play this one the most, and also a custom made mexican classical, and my Martin D16. Electrics include two strats, ES335 copy, and 4 string P-bass.
