Lot of the features have already been said.
I bought the Acoutic/Electric model with a fishman pup(sonicore) and fishman "classic 4" preamp--?.
Mine was a 2000 model without a satin finish neck- would have preferred satin finish, but I bought used, so I can't be too picky.
For $315, lot of guitar for the money.

I play rock/blues/bob dylanish folk type of stuff. Sounds absolutely amazing. Seeing how I started off on a $80 Hohner, this guitar sounds awesome!! Solid top and piezo make this thing sound incredible unplugged or amplified.

Little bit of buzz on the E string. Maybe needs some new strings. Mine had a nick in the headstock and scratches on the back- nothing to get too worked up over. It didn't come from the factory, so I can't really just Ibanez's workmanship firsthand.

I've been playing 2.5 years now and own a Fender Fat Strate with modified pickups and strings as well as an old Peavey Pacer amp, a Marshall MG15w practice amp and a Crate BX15 bass amp. Sounds great plugged into all three. It blows my Hohner away.

My AW100 was purchased new in 2002 and was made in Korea. Other than that, the description is identical to other that submitted by other reviewers.

I went shopping for a guitar in this price range and spent a lot of time comparing different brands and models. I found that, dollar-for-dollar, the Ibanez products sounded better than their competitors. This three hundred dollar guitar sounded almost as good, and in some cases better, than most big name six hundred dollar models. It has plenty of volume and the sound is well balanced.

I haven't found any flaws on the outside fit and finish-there is a bit of sanding "fuzz" on the inside bracing (if that even matters). The wood is nice but not fancy. The action is fine with no buzzing. The hardware is attractive and the tuners (gold Grovers) are very nice.

I began playing 25 years ago but stopped for several years. I still consider myself a novice. I would not hesitate to recommend this guitar to anyone looking to make a purchase in this price range. I checked out similarly priced guitars by Yamaha, Fender, Alvarez, and a few others. I alternated playing between these brands and much higher priced guitars by Martin and Taylor. The Ibanez wasn't far behind them in sound quality or playability. The others weren't nearly as close. If my AW100 was lost or stolen, I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with another Ibanez.

FOR THE MONEY YOU WON'T DO ANY BETTER IN A NEW GUITAR. I HAD AN AW 10 WHICH MY KID DROPPED AND BROKE THE HEADSTOCK OFF OF (THIS WOULD HAPPEN TO ANY GUITAR AND IS NOT A KNOCK AGAINST IBANEZ). I WENT AND BOUGHT A $700 MARTIN D-15. THERE WAS ONLY ONE PROBLEM, I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH SUCH AN EXPENSIVE ACCOUSTIC. I CARRY MY ACCOUSTIC ALL AROUND THE HOUSE, WHEN I PLAY WITH FRIENDS ETC. I NEEDED A GUITAR WHICH I REALLY DID NOT CAR TOO MUCH ABOUT (PRICE WISE I MEAN). BELIEVE IT OR NOT THIS THIS PLAYS BETTER THAN THE MARTIN. IF YOU NEED AN INEXPENSIVE ACCOUSTIC YOU OWE THE AW 100 A LOOK!!!!

This is a full size dreadnought with a solid sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. It has a rosewood bridge and fretboard. The AW100 comes with a high gloss finish as opposed to the AW 70s matte finish. Grover tuners are a big pluss as is the ivory binding on the body as well as the neck. It has MOP inlay name in heah and fret dots. Its only negative is being made in tiwain but that is just in my head because the craftsmanship and attention to detail are excellent.

I am just a beginner and am just starting to develop a musical ear but the more acoustics I hear the better this one sounds. It is full and deep and since I put on new martin light strings it has quite good volume. The action is set really nice, it dosen't tear up my fingers and is very easy to play. My friend, who ownes a Guild , played it the other day and was soo impressed he wanted to buy it.

No flaws that I can see. Again , the attention to detail, materials used playability are exceptional. I am curious to get my hands on someone elses AW 100 and see if they are all this good or if I just got lucky.

Have only been playing about 3-4 mos. but have looked at 100s of acoustics. I also own a Martin Sigma ele./acou but this box blows it away. I don' know what I like better the look or the sound. I got a steal on this guitar but even at retail it is a good value. Check out the guys at the GUITAR GALLERY they are good folks.

The day I went to buy an acoustic guitar, I was ready to spend a lot more money on "the right guitar". I played Takamines, Martins, Guilds, but when I pick this one up I was blown away, as far as Bang For The Buck! The action was set perfect, the sound and playability were exactly what I was after!

Haven't had any problems, but recently noticed that the wires inside came loose and rattle a little when I shake it, so until I restring it and fix the problem,... I won't shake it.

Bought new in March 2000. The review above covers this as well as I could, though I will say that the black colouration of the saddle spoils the overall look of the instrument.

I bought this guitar for a second to my D45: the sort you can take to festivals and bash around without worrying too much if it gets destroyed. However, it turns out to have a rich, full sound and I find I`m using it more and more, especially for fingerpicking, as the basses balance beautifully with the trebles. That said, it`s not so dusty flatpicked either: it has a mellow quality particularly suited to single-string fiddle and jazz playing, and it rings true for jazz comping, though it may be a little light in the bass for bluegrass rhythm playing.

This guitar was beautifully set-up, with a low action but not a hint of fret-buzz. Finish was clean and good looking, and there are no obvious flaws in the workmanship.

With its solid spruce top and nahogany back and sides it feels at least as durable as more expensive instruments I`ve played. I have gigged with it, switching it with my Martin for fingerpicked numbers, and have found it very satisfactory.

I`ve been playing semi-professionally for thirty years, ofetn backing up visting US country artists relying in the mainly on Telecasters and my D45, with one rather pointless visit to Taylor (too bright for me). I must say that this guitar surprised me with its tone and quality: I certainly didn`t expect to want to play it as much as I have. I`d recommend it as a backup, or as a first guitar for those on a budget, as they won`t be disappointed.

This is a 99 Ibanez dreadnought style acoustic guitar. It's got 20 frets and has a solid spruce top. Back and sides are mahogany. Sweet grover tuners. Scalloped bracings (you don't see those on a guitar of this price very often) A very solid guitar.

I'm mostly into acoustic rock (DMB, Guster ect.) but play pretty much everything and this guitar can do it all. The sound is very bright and punchy due to the bracing. Clear, clean loude sound. I love this guitar. The best value i've been able to find.

the only thing wrong with this guitar was the factory strings were far too light for my taste, after i slapped on some meds it played like a dream. action was perfect. I must have gotten a tech on a damn good day. nothing wrong with it.

the finish on this thing is bomber. I've dropped it a few times and nothing shows. hardwear is rocksolid. giging without a backup would be real easy.

For a guitar of this qualitly to be at this price, i'm still waiting to wake up from this dream. Nothing short of a martin would sound better (at 4x the price). most def recommend this to anyone in need of a basic, sweet sounding instrument.
