nice body i love to **** with it

Sound : 9
here is the deal...READ

the pickups may sounds weak, that is because both capacitors used in the volume and tone pots are 0.033uf with makes this sound too muddy/bassy or say too jazzy...

replace both with a 0.022uf mylar capacitor(which is the standard btw) and you will definitely sound alright

I personally use an even lower capacitance of 0.015uf for a brighter higher frequency treble bleed to mix with the volume pot

try it out! you might never know what will surprise you!

at stock i would rate it about 6.5
with a lite mod say 8.5

This guitar is really great, but could be better. it didnt have any cool **** like a killswitch or anything. thin neck, and ibanez stock pickups, also ibanez tuners... but those get out of tune very easily

Sound : 8
I play all sorts of stuff, but this thing is made for most things, with this guy you can get alot of really cool sounds. It can go from a ACDC tone, to a nirvana tone, then onto a jazzy and blues tone as well, this is made for anything. but this isnt everything, playing fast solos can sound wierd, but im preety sure its not made for that stuff, so why complain?

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
every thing is setup fine on this guitar, but... the tuners get out of tune way to easy (especially the G string its just really lose for some reason) this guy is preety light though, and is very comfortable playing sitting down or standing up, which helps playing live, so you dont have anything distracting you.

Reliability/Durability : 6
Dont go around bumping into walls... this guy is delicate as a flower. but treat it well you will be able to play it for years. but if you do drop it, expect things to be way out of tune, and if you play around with the knobs and toggle switches, expect a wire or 2 to break, but live... this guy is preety good as long as, you take care of it as i said

Customer Support : No Opinion
i never needed it

Overall Rating : 8
Im preety satisfied, but i just wish it had a killswitch, i love those :)

22 frets, two humbuckers, symmetrical body, I liked the look of this guitar and after playing strats all my like wanted to venture into the Les Paul humbucker world without the weight. This I thought looked nicer than all the LP copies around. It was also light and I could bash about a bit.
However, any string bends puts the guitar out of tune. I was suprised Ibanez would put such primitive tuners on this model.

Sound : 4
This guitar is great without amplification but with it? I'm afraid the humbuckers are weak. They aound okay in the middle position but there is not much variety. The spec says these are powersound pickups which should be the same on my Ibanez GRG. It must be due to the body material (agathis) and weight that makes some difference. For a cheap company I could understand but from Ibanez it was diasppointing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I expected to file down the frets and sand the scratchy neck neck and lower the action but nothing needed to be done. I even received it in tune!

Reliability/Durability : 8
It really depends on where you would play live. On a school stage it is okay (providing you have changed the machine head).

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea

Overall Rating : 5
I put on a machine head from a Behringer strat and now it plays well. I was thinking of upgrading the pickups so that it sounds good. As this is aimed at the beginner, I'm not sure these actions will be taken so it may remain in the back of a wardrobe for many people. It is a shame as I like the neck, the shape and the lack of clutter on the body encouraging more fingerpicking styles. For a starter it's not too bad though you could get a Guvnor, Crafter, Vintage, Aria guitar at a similar price. It does seem strange that for a few pounds more you could purchase the Ibanez GSA60 which is almost a perfect guitar.

i personally like to play play rock blues classical and pop punk and metal which this guitar handles brilliantly also this guitar is a great gig back up for every band i play with which ranges from a screamo
band to a country and western out fit apart from (as everyone else has said) the guitar is perfect apart from the tuning knobs but i solved that problem by making some washers out of rubber tubing which on reflection it may have been easier just to invest in some new machine heads but each to his own eh?

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
i brought this from a friend so i can't say how it was out of the box and i am unaware as to if he changed the action but it was perfect from when i was playing it and nothing else was wrong with it however i did re=solder the pickups and other electronics and changed the input socket but none of that actually needed doing i just like to know it's all done well

Reliability/Durability : 10
lightweight but solid can withstand alot of abuse but at the same time makes you not want to abuse it. i'm unsure as to if i would rely on this guitar totally but it's a great backup and certainly the only one you would need for anything up to and including local touring although i have often relied on this guitar for a band in which i play rhythem

Customer Support : No Opinion
never spoke to them doubt i'll ever have to i'm sure the warranty's void by now and if anything went wrong with it i'm sure it'd be easy to fix

Overall Rating : 9
although i brought it second hand it seems to play like new and one of the major things i love about it it's possibly the best looking backup you can buy and possibly one of the best sounding with just a little bit of modification which probably any guitar player can handle you'll have a great sounding versatile guitar perfect as a back up and also a good studio guitar in some cases i've found it to be better for recording then any of my jackson's or gibson although to be honest i don't know enough about recording as to why that would be

the red GAX30 glossy finish. made in indonesia. basswood i think.....
two humbuckers. three way switch.

Sound : 5
used this guitar for 4 years now no problem... except the pickups. If you can , change the pickups. The stock pickups have a very muddy sound. The guitar in nature is actually bassy. I now used SD Invader in the bridge and SD JAzZ in the neck. The sound really satisfies me. The invader can go to extreme metal genres and the jazz model is really smooth. I play mainly metal n rock music the stock GAX30 can play this types of genres. After the pickup change the pickups i really liked the invader sound, it has very nice sounding palm mute. cause of the wood i think. rating is for the stock pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
the action is high. i have to mod the nut a bit. then its okay.

Reliability/Durability : 7
used this guitar for 4 years now. It has fallen 4 to 5 times.

Customer Support : No Opinion
i have nvr used the warranty.

Overall Rating : 8
Overall the guitar is reliable, it served me good.
The place where you put the input jack tends to get loose often.
I recommend this guitar too beginners who wants a good price to value ratio guitar and a beginner who likes rock,metal..

Style is Les Paul junior/SG type double cutaway,Twin humbuckers, one vol and one tone pot, threeway selector toggle, strat feel neck with rosewood laminate fretboard, strat style bridge. The guitar is a no frills model hence the mediocre rating.

Sound : 7
This is a very basic guitar with only one tone and one vol pot so the variety of sounds are limited ,however if you are playing punk or garage rock this guiar will be right up your street. The humbuckers have a bright almost single coil twang to them but when the tone pot is set at its lowest it actually produces a good thick growl which is great for power chords. The body is really slim so you dont get the great thick tones you can get from a Les Paul or the inherant sustain.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar is a beginers model which is reflected in the price,it is a no frills punk thrasher. The paint is good with no visable flaws, the neck feels awsome, the pick ups sound ok,tuners are best upgraded, the only bad point is the scratch plate which looks really cheap and lifts away from the guitars body, other than that for ??140 the guitar feelslike an instrument twice its price

Reliability/Durability : 6
The guitar is an entry level instrument so the hardwear probably isnt up to the rigours of years of gigging but its light weight makes it comfortable to play all night long .

If you are looking for your first guitar or a cheap guitar to play your favourite punk songs in your bedroom you cant go wrong with it.The thing looks great and the sound is perfect. It weighs next to nothing and takes no setting up,just plug in and play. However if you are looking for a more versatile guitar you may soon tire of this guitars sound. When i first played this guitar i was impressed by the quality feel it had and was amazed at the low price, the neck feels awsome to play and it looks cool round your neck in the mirror. For the price i would say it is an absolubte steal,i cant think of another repected guitar maufacturer making anything this affordable.

Pretty basic but solid but i guess that means there is less to go wrong then. Two humbuckers (one at the neck, the other at the bridge), 3 way switch, single tone and volume controls, 22 rosewood fretboard, mahogany body.

Sound : 9
I play most kinds of rock, everything from SOAD and Metallica to Coldplay and Snow Patrol and this guitar, along with my marshall 30MGDFX amp, bring out all the different tones and distortion needed. The neck pickup brings out the better rhythem and louder bass with a full sound while the bridge pickup is great for punk rock, less bass but a little brighter.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Bought the guitar from the shop fully set up and everything still works perfectly. Does get slightly out of tune when bending the strings or playing with some venom, but for general playing it plays fine.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Had this guitar for about 10 months and as forementioned its still in very good working condition. I have used it to play live but I did have a backup just in case, because it was the first time playing live with this guitar so I wasnt sure if it would stand up to it but it did. I did however managed to loosen the bridge pickup so much that it comes out of its pot but nothing that I couldnt fix.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed to contact them.

Ive been playing for 3 years and wanted a cheap guitar to thrash with. I own a Wesley LP acrylic and a Squier Satin Trans Strat, but there just mainly for show, I prefer my good old workhorse, the Ibanez because it can take all the abuse I give it. I would like some extra features though but for the price I paid it plays better then any other budget guitar I ve played. In my opinion it would make an excellent beginners guitar but is solid enough in all aspects to be used by all types of players.

Neck appears to be rosewood, passive pickups, 500K pots, one volume one tone, three way switch. 22 frets, pearl dot inlays, nice finish, strong, haven't been able to put a major ding in it and I'm really good at that. One more thing I'd like to add is a Floyd Rose bridge. Neck is thin, but my chubby fingers don't have a problem.

Sound : 9
I live on a sailboat and travel quite a bit, and have a regular gig during hurricane season in the Caribbean. I didn't want to lug around a Marshall stack or a vintage Les Paul, so I looked around for an inexpensive guitar thay played well and sounded good. I got that with the Ibanex GA30X, plus it looks good.

By themselves the bridge pickups have to much treble for my taste, I prefer the neck pickup for jazzier stuff, the neck and bridge pickup for Motown tunes, and I never use the bridge by itself. I'm changing the pickups in a few weeks, going to install a couple of Seymour Duncan humbuckers which should improve the tone, especially at the bridge.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action was high, don't know if it was like that from the factory or because of the geeks in the music store where I bought it. After putting on new strings and setting up the rig she's fine. I had to raise the pickups as they were way too far down.

The tuners were crap, toss 'em and put on some Grovers, you won't regret it, the guitar will stay in tune better, the head will be a bit heavier, but you'll have more sustain. The output jack did have a problem coming loose, and the jack itself is not quality, spend a few bucks, install a good quality jack, tighten it down and you've solved that problem. Strap buttons, no problem The first time I took the strings off the nut came off with them. Although there was dried glue on it and the neck, it just did not adhere or the bond gave way. I dealt with that and it's no longer a problem.

No problems with the pots or the pickups other than that. No other cosmetic or structural flaws that I could find and I've had it all apart and even the neck off it.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I use this guitar all the time, along with two acoustics, it has no problem enduing the rigors of playing, it loves it. I'm very happy with this guitar, I looks great, it plays well, the action once set up correctly is smooth and fast.

It's not a top of the line guitar, no Les Paul or Strat. But if you invest a few more bucks in it, replacing the pickups, tuners, and output jack, you'll have a nice-playing nice-sounding guitar that you'll probably be very happy with.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to deal with Ibanez, hope I don't have to. Whatever the warranty was, I've owned it now for a couple of years (bought it new) and I suspect the warranty has run out. I didn't buy it for the warranty, I mean, hey, it's a $150 guitar.

Made in Asia somewhere, but not sure when. 22 frets, rosewood fretboard, bolt on neck, double cutaway basswood body. String through body, double humbuckers, 3way switch, volume & tone pot, standard ibanez tuners. came with basic gig bag, strap, etc.

Sound : 8
i play a lot of alternative and some experimental. The double hums provide sufficient tones for the rock sound. I play through a marshall 100dfx halfstack and it's distortion and special effects could make almost anything sound decent. The clean can be muddy through this amp, but when played through a fender twin reverb the clean was much better. It is a very versitile guitar for such a low price

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar has a super fast neck, it is substantually smaller compared to most fender/gibson makes, which can suck if you have chubby fingers. Pickups were adjusted fine, but i sometimes mess with them to get a variety of sound. The only flaw was that the input jack comes loose, it is annoying and sometimes creates a buzzing.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar is a great beginner guitar. It can withstand a beating. I don't think it will last forever, but it is fun to experiment on now. The strap buttons are ok, a good stiff strap will stay on but without one the guitar will fall. It is a dependable guitar. I wouldn't recommend it to be a guitar of choice when playing live, but it could be a sufficient backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion

This is an excellent beginning guitar, but it will never stand up to a fender or gibson. Basically a good guitar to learn and grow on, but not the best.
