Mine is a 2001 Ibanez GAX70 in Transparent Red made in Indonesia, 22 frets, etc. Hardtail bridge, 2 humbuckers, 3 way switching, 24.5" (?) scale, sort of a double cutaway Les Paul shape.
Sound
:
5
Well, it did moderately okay in sound. I put a Duncan C5 in the bridge and it sounds much better now. The stock neck pickup is pretty fine. The guitar seems best for metal with the hardtail bridge and 'dark' tonewoods. It doesn't have much variety stock. Just the standard cheap electric tone. But now I prefer single coils anyway.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
6
The action was set low at the factory and I've never adjusted it. The pickups were too low. The bridge was laid in fine. The bridge position pickup route is a bit slanted. The inside leaves a bit to be desired when working on it, with rough, unfinished edges and it just looks very sloppy inside.

This guitar will not withstand live playing. Not for me. It didn't for my friend at a show, either. Three of the tuners have come loose at points in time. The factory switch broke, the jack came undone, and my strings break at the bridge all the time. Contrary to what some people say, the finish isn't very durable at all. I've dented it and scratched it a lot, not even through roughing it up. It fell the other day and a chunk about 4x2 was ripped out of the back paint. It's very cheaply finised. Squier/Fender/etc have a much better finish.

I've never had to deal with Ibanez. They're probably too busy with FiElDy wannabees anyway.

I've been playing 2 1/2 years, I have a Strat, P-bass and Jazz bass. I would not buy this again, I'd probably get a Telecaster or something. I love the fact that it's not going to be mine much longer. I chose it because I liked the neck at the time. I don't like it anymore.

Year: 2001
Don't know where it was made
22 frets, beautiful black finish, 2 vol/2tone, H/H, Powersound 1 and 2 humbuckers, passive electronics, mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, double cutaway body like a wider SG, Tune-O-Matic bridge, non locking tuners, thin neck with medium frets.
Pretty much a simple guitar, but kicks severe ass

Good for any style, this guitar is versatile as hell, but awesome for heavy stuff especially. I use it through a Crate MX65R amp with a Danelectro Black Coffee Metal Distortion, sounds great through both. Awesome metal sound. I'll probably put some better pickups in sometime, but no complaints with the ones it comes with.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

Factory set-up was good, but I toyed with the action to make it higher and raised my neck pickup. No flaws anywhere. Finish is beautiful!

This guitar could withstand WWIII if it came to that, as everyone else says it's a tank. Hardware is durable, and the finish will last for forever. I'm going to put in straplocks because my strap falls off all the time when I move around, but that's like every guitar. No guitar is complete without straplocks. This thing is as dependable as they come.

I've been playing for a year and a half, and I love this thing. It's like my child. If it was stolen or broken or lost I would bawl like an injured baby, than I would hunt down and kill whoever took it. Then I'd buy a Gibson SG, but that'll be in a long time.

Very nice. Dual humbucker with a nice rosewood body and maple neck. I got mine i transperent red, and it's a damn beaute. Plays cool, with a
nice, crunchy, baritone sound. Great tone and well worth the cost(even though I got mine pretty much for free from a friend).

I really like the tone I get from this baby. I have to compare it to me Squier Bullet, and it get's the gold. I play it through a Fender Frontman 15, and it brings out alot of good sounds.I usually play metal-rock type stuff and this guitar is really bold with the crunching and pounding. Sweet-ass sound.

The finish on it is beautiful and it looks really cool with the wood showing through the red finish. The action is almost pefect, and the Ibanez manufacturers did a superb job. It even has a little black smudge on the back of the body, and makes mine recognizable. It gives it character and it is my new bestest friend!!

I think that it'll withstand a very severe beating it hasn't even come close to chipping, and the scratches on the back from my belt are very minor. If it were alive, it could probably kick my fuckin' ass. It's a freaking monster.

My guitar is a 2001 Ibanez GAX-70, with a transparent orange finish, which isn't bad. It features two volume and tone knobs each (one for each pickup, of course), mahogany body, a maple bolt-on neck with a rosewood fretboard, tune-o-matic bridge, two Ibanez Powersound humbuckers. This series is shaped like the Ibanez Artist series, or like a double-cutaway Les Paul. The neck scale is 25", I believe, with 22 jumbo frets. Pretty good features for its price!
Sound

I use this guitar (I'm borrowing it from a friend) with a Morely wah, Ibanez ToneLok delay, and an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff, all plugged into a little Peavey Rage 158 practice amp. The sound is a little disappointing, yet, it's appropriate for the price. The sound lacks bass and midrange. The neck pickup sounds a little bit better than the bridge, the neck sounds a little more full. Keep in mind that this is only true in the case of the stock Ibanez Powersound pickups. The tone knobs are suprisingly useful, they actually make up for the treble overuse when rolled down some. Pickups don't give much buzz, either.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

The action on this guitar is great. Hard to break a string on this thing, except for the 1st string, which isn't unusual. A bit of buzz on the first few frets of the 6th string. Not too much complaining here.

This guitar is durable, but the tuning is not. The paint job seems to be thick, but if you drop this and you expect it to keep tune, forget it. It does keep tune when cared for, though. The only thing that bugs me is that the grip of to the pickup selector fell off. One more thing: the strap hook closest to the neck comes loose quickly.

This guitar is pretty good. I've made up my mind that I like it more than my Squier Jagmaster, and I could have saved $50 if I bought this guitar instead. Compared to my Jagmaster, this thing plays alot better and has more features. The only thing the Jagmaster has over this is sound. But if you set your amp right, it can sound alright. Really good value

I play anything from Blind Melon to Mudvayne and this guitar dose it all pretty good.I play this straight into a Fender Roc Pro 1000 head into 2 eminence 12s. The pickups sound fine but do leave alittle to be desired but I am a 11 year guitar veteren. The bridge pickup got good harmonics but is alittle to bright. The tone controls are better than an my les paul!

I got this used and it was set up pretty well. The finish is awsome! I couldent find one flaw an i got it used! I was very impressed by everything on this guitar considering the price. There is NO! unwanted feedback. Most cheep ass guitars have just compleatly shitty pickups but these arent that bad.

The finish is awsome! The hardware seems good. The shop where I got it had to replace the strap buttons before I got it so I wouldent trust them. This is my backup so it better not screw up! I wouldent use it without a backup just because I wont even use my Gibson without a backup so take that as you will. But I do think this guitar will last.

I've been playing for 11 years and I own a Gibson Les Paul a Warlock and hamer standard. I bought this guitar for something to accessorize so anything that I dont like I will just cange so I'm not worried about it. If it was stolen I would buy a more expencive ax model. By two favorite guitars ever built are the Gibson Les Paul and the Ibanez ax body styles. For the price you CANNOT get a better guitar. It would be imposible! If you are a begginer or someone like me that just wants to change all the hardware and put in active pickups an coil splits and shit this would be great.

This guitar was made in Indonesia (probably around 1998-1999).
2 "Powersound" humbuckers. 2 tone 2 volume knobs. 3 way selector.
22 frets. Double cutaway body. Transparent butterscotch (a.k.a. orange/yellow)

doesnt suits my music style (oldschool punk, metal, blues) very well, does a good metal but not punk. I practice with a crate GFX-20 with a kramer digital delay. GIVES LOTS OF FEEDBACK OVER VOLUME 5! Crunchy, bassy sound. The stock pickups on this guitar really give a bass sound, especially the bridge pickup. Can make a good crunch, but very bad for lead guitar. I like the crunch it gives, but I hate almost everything else.

The tunes on this are horrible, they came loose after a week of having this guitar, the guitar never stays intune. The finsish is really ugly.... I have tons of scratches on this thing, and it actually looks better now. Ive had to get it fixed three times because of the soldering in it. The bridge seems to cut my strings so they break faster.

I would never do a gig with this again, even with a backup,I did once and I dropped it because of the really crappy strap buttons, and it failed to make sound at one point. I think that the knobs are going to fall off! The finish doesnt last and will not last.

If had this guitar for almost three years, and it just keeps getting worse. Go get a Gibson if you have the cash, or get an Epiphone or Schecter if you dont have very much.
This is a good beginging guitar... seems sensable for the price.

the stock pickups are damn muddy and noisy. i changed the pickups with seymour duncan jazz model in the neck and seymour duncan 59 model in the bridge. it sounds so much better with seymour duncans in it.

it was well set-up at the factory. the action was to high for my taste. the finish was perfect and flawless. the nut is not a good nut. it's cut too deep. the tuners are very cheap, i changed them with gotoh tuners. and the bridge doesn't intonate well.

never bring this to gig. the hardware will last, except for the tuners, but they are not good quality hardware. you should use a straplock system otherwise the strap will lose from the guitar. don't depend on this guitar to much and don't gig with this unless you have upgrade this guitar with better hardware and pickups.
