I love this thing. I traded my Jackson Performer for this because I love the way it plays and feels. It sounds better through my setup, also. I play it through a Randall RH200, and it has such a thick low end and a really sweet clean tone.

I got it used, but in good shape. It has the mirror pickguard with black finish, and it's fuggin' awesome-looking. The only beef I have with it is the way the pegs come loose, but that's because I thrash madly while playing live shows.

It's a tank, but nice and light. Like I said, the strap pegs are weak from much abuse.

I love it, and since I see it got for $160, there is NO better deal. Buy it as a ain or a backup to a more expensive guitar. I love it.

I play tons of punk, Zeppelin, AC/DC, and other stuff along those lines. This guitar works great for all, it's very versitile, good for a beginner. I play through a Marshall amp with digi effects and it sounds great. especially with delay, and flange

Only thing that has been changed in a year and a half were frets filed down. when i got it, the frets were so sharp on the ends that your hand could be cut.

I would use this guitar as a backup at a gig without a doubt. the strap buttons are getting loose is the main problem, but like i said, it is excellent for beginner to learn on.

My guess it was made 2002-2003. 22 medium frets. 3 way pickup selector and H/H config. Passive electronics. Nice maple very fast, rosewood fingerboard and an alder body. Mine is gloss black looks really nice. Strat style body with non locking tuners and mine came with a fat20 bridge sdo they must of screwed up at the factory in indosenia. no included accessories. for $400 AUS its pretty good.

the pickups are pretty shit and the volume knob hums at everything but 0 or 10. The guitar sounds alright for punk or metal/rock.

The guitars action was too low but easily fixed just raise the bridge. in australia the wood gets hot and swells and a little fret buzz happens but on cooler days its fine.

Made in 2002 in China. 22 Frets. One volume, one tone, three-way pickup selector, H/H pickup configuration (my personal favorite on guitars), Powersound 1 humbucker at the Neck, Powersound 2 humbucker at the Bridge, Maple Neck, Rosewood fingerboard, Alder body, black finish, FAT10 standard tremolo that keeps getting out of tune, nonlocking tuners which I plan to replace with these tuners from Planet Waves that automatically cut off excess string after restringing, 25.5" scale, came with a couple of allen wrenches that I have lost. I wish this axe had a Floyd Rose, though. I also wish it were a baritone also, because I love to tune low.

Using a clean sound is the only time I ever use the neck pickup or the middle position on the pickup switching. Using it through a 10-watt beginner amp that I have had for a year now and need a better amp. My amp has no fancy clean sounds, which is what I am looking for, but because it doesn't have enough distortion, I always use distortion pedals with it. The bridge pickup sounds the best when the tone is pushed all the way to 10, and use only that pickup with distortion. I use this axe with a Dime Crybaby Custom wah pedal, an Ibanez SM7 Smash Box distortion pedal, a DigiTech Metal Master distortion pedal, an Ibanez TS7 TubeScreamer overdrive (which I use in conjunction with either my amp's own distortion or with either of my Distortion pedals), and an Ibanez CF7 Chorus/Flanger. By the way, if you want a shorter sustain for any reason, use this guitar with factory-set pickups equipped through the SM7 smash box and turn the guitar's volume to about 1 or 2, maybe 3. I'm thinking of moving my Powersound 2 pickup to the neck position and getting a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker in the bridge position to push my sound further. I'm happy with my sound, I just want to push it harder.

No complaints about my guitar's set-up at the factory. My only complaint is the bridge routing. I need to find someone who actually knows what they're doing when re-routing the bridge. Needless to say, I want a Floyd Rose on my axe, and if it's going to mess up in the long run, I'm better off getting an axe that already has a Floyd Rose on it.

Well, the tremolo cover does have some chips on two of the corners. I've never played it live, since I don't have a band and have never played live before. I have chipped the finish in two places on the body, but it still seems to last. I DEFINITELY need a backup guitar if I use it on a gig, because there's really no excuse not to have a backup guitar on a gig anyway. You'll never know when the wiring in your favorite axe screws up, or when you break a string. Speaking of strings, ALWAYS use GHS Boomers with this axe! Those things lasted me about 3 months on average, and sometimes even more. Just remember to adjust the spring tension on the tremolo cavity when using different gaguings, ESPECIALLY the Zakk Wylde boomers, which have 10, 13, and 17 on the higher notes, and 36, 52, and 60 on the lower notes. And if you use that particular gaguing, DON'T lose those allen wrenches like I did! It took forever to find the right size, and when I finally did, I had to mess with the Tremolo height just to get it parallel to the body. The only thing you have to worry about is the tuning. This tremolo takes a while to get all six strings in tune, however, I recommend cross-tuning; tuning both E-strings to pitch, then the B-string and A-string, then the G-string and D-string, and repeat until all six strings are in tune. All your strings will be in tune with the same tension on all six strings. I tried the Zakk Wylde GHS Boomers on this one, and cross-tuning not only saved me time, it also saved me a lot of trouble, because on two occasions, the tension of my A-string was so great that I actually had to use a string winder to get it tuned to pitch. Unless you have a locking nut alone or locking tuners, this is one tremolo you do NOT want to have, because it gets out of tune EVERY time you even try to dive-bomb it, or do any crazy string-bending. I have had some string buzz and bad action, and that is easily fixed, but I don't even know the first thing about truss rod adjustments, so I leave all truss rod adjustments to professionals. The tremolo is the main thing I hate about this axe!

I don't know anything about a "warranty" for this axe, because it was not me who actually bought this guitar. My dad got it for me as a High School graduation present last year, and this is my first guitar. I have had to have it restrung a few times, and that's it. The people who restrung my guitar even showed me how to restring it myself, so I am really happy with the customer support I've gotten with this axe, even though I've only had to take it in for service about three times. As I mentioned earlier, the finish on the body was chipped in about two or three areas, exposing the wood. I was too lazy to take it in the shop, so my dad took a black permanent marker and colored in the exposed wood to hide it. I've never had a truss rod adjustment, so I need to learn how to do that, and learn what effects it has when you tighten it or losen it.

I've only been playing guitar for a year. It was my first axe, and for that reason, this guitar is definitely a keeper for me. The sound could've been improved if it were equipped with Duncan Distortion or EMG 81 humbuckers, however, the guitar, itself could DEFINITELY have been better if it had a Floyd Rose tremolo, and it would've fit my style better if the scale was 27" instead of 25.5". Other than that, I am pretty much satisfied with this instrument. I wish I had gotten an RG for my graduation present instead, though.

The original pickups were more noisy than I cared for, but I replaced them. However, the sounds are bright, like there's chorus on. The only two volume positions without hum are 0 and 10 (and I doubt you'd want 0). Tone isn't that much of a change, and anything between at 10 there's hum when running through effects such as distortion. I replaced the bridge pickup with a Duncan Designed HB103. I like the neck pickup for distortion though.

The setup wasn't the greatest. The action was decent. The floating bridge was (lack for a better word) crap. It used to go out of tune whenever the bridge moved (plus crappy tuners), so you'll probably have to tighten the tremolo springs significantly (be careful to loosen the strings first). After awhile, there was fret buzz, so I had to adjust the bridge screws. However, the bridge isn't adjustable (for height). I replaced the bridge with a hardtail bridge and replaced the tuners with Gotoh 16:1's.

Because it went out of tune, I played a small gig and it went out of tune too many times, so I would use this as a backup. But, with the changes I've made, I trust it and it's good.

For the small price tag, it's a decent starter. But with the mods I made (which almost totalled the guitar price), it's a good guitar. Some things (like how much the cheap agathis weighs) can't be fixed, but everything else can. But for a price. So I would advise getting a better guitar for a little more money.

Made in 1998 in Indonesia. 22 Frets. 3 way selector. 2 Humbuckers, etc. Body is Metallic Blue, and is a very nice color. Overall, the guitar is extremelly light, which probably has something to do with the hollow sort of tone it has to it. Fretboard is Rosewood and is very comfortable. Strings are perfect distance from fretboard and it is very easy for a begginner to play.
Sound

The Clean sound it puts out is decent, but nothing special. Distorted it sound very good, but it definetaly has a sort of "light" sound to it. It just sounds a bit to "processed", if you know what I mean. I have Ernie Ball Super Slinky's on it and Pinch Harmonics and Bends are extremely easy (Compared to my Les Paul). Overall, I like the sound, but it isn't nothing to jump for joy about. A beginner wouldn't know the difference (I didn't when I bought it).

The guitar was set up great. The paint is superb, but it does have a few chips (All being my fault), but those come with almost 5 years of abuse. One of the springs that hold the humbucker up did fall out and was lost, but I just fixed this myself. The 3 way-switch is started bugging out a few months ago, but I haven't check it out yet. Probably just bad wiring. Remember, this is after over 1000 hours of use and abuse, so like I said, I am not surprised.

I've been playing for almost 7 years and I own 3 other guitars (Including a Les Paul Classic). This is by far one of the best beginner guitars I've every played. If it was lost, I doubt I'd buy another, mainly because it gets little use anymore. Mainly it is just used for playing while sitting in front of the TV or the PC. I recommend this guitar to anyone learning to play. A great value for the money.

Made in Indonesia.Has 22 frets. It comes in Black or Metallic Blue mine is metallic blue. It has a volume dial and a tone dial with a three way pickup selector for two humbucker pickups. It has the classic strat style body shape with a normal tremelo bridge. Standard tuning pegs and a nicely sized fret board.

Ok sound for metal or rock music but struggles for clean stuff. I use it with an Epiphone ep-1000 and it sounds ok through my danelectro distortion. Quite hard to get a nice clean sound out of it theres too much bass so it gives quite a fat sound. Theres not much variety in the sounds it can produce but harmonics are extremely easy on it. I geaerally like the distorted sound but the tremelo sounmds really crap so i don't even bother with it any more.

Very reliable. Has withstood a good beating from me and its previous owner and still works like a dream. It will play live fine and has done many a time but you need to keep your eye on the tuning. The electrics etc and solid and the neck is pretty indestructable but the body is weak and chips very easily. Paintwork will also last and it has nice solid strap buttons. Very dependable and would recommend gigging it.

Have had it over a year now and still working fine. Have added a range of pedals - a danelectro grilled cheese(beautiful), a bespeco wahwah pedal and a phaser. Ihave also just purchased a compressor but havnt had it long enough to comment.I love how hardwaring it is but the tremelo sucks and the tunings a bit eratic. Comparing it to other beginners guitars i feel it is the best you can buy. If it was stolen id be a bit pissed off and i'd probably set about getting a new one. Still desperate for a 50's Fender Telecaster Bond style.

This was my first guitar. It was good for playing metal but you just can't get any decent clean sounds out of it! I used it with a CRATE GX15 and a ZOOM 505II. The pickups were pretty silent. One thing I liked about this guitar is that it was pretty easy to get pinch harmonics out of it
