The tuner is non locking with a 5 way tap exactly shaped like a Fender Strat Double humbucking pickups which create very chunky sound. 22 fret board the neck makes the guitar look mean like an ESP.

Sound : 9
I was using a Peavy amp (until the bastard thing blew up) which creates very mean and chunky sound it can also be changed to a mellow sound with the flick of a switch this guitar is the one for me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
It must be very well set up because ive been playing it for 3 years now and havent had a problem with it well maybe because i change the strings thats all this guitar is in mint condition

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would use this guitar highly in a gig which i have before and it has'nt gone screwy on me and yes if you are wondering the hardware will definately last.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have had no problems with this guitar to consult anyone with

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 3 years and have a lot of training up my sleeve and find this a very excellent guitar if it was stolen i think id wak the bastard over the head then still be able to play it. But the one thing i would like to say is if this would have had a floyd rose bridge this would be a mighty seller any where. If you would like to buy it contact me on my e-mail and we might be able to arrange something

The GRX20 from Ibanez is as basic as u can buy a Stratocastor. double humbuckle HIGH OUTPUT pickups, with a standard tremlo bar with no locking tremlo.....It is a ultra light axe and isnt very flashy looking. Overall with the features its not tha bad of a guitar, i would DEFINITLY reccommmend this guitar for BEGINNERS ONLY!! If u played for more than 2 or 3 years only use this guitar asa bang around.

Sound : 8
The GRX suits my guitar style somewhat. I play Metallica ( da older crap mainly ) Kid Rock, Nirvana, AC/DC, Blink 182, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Creed and Papa Roache's Last Resort. I plug this axe through a Boss ME-30 and straight into a LINE6 Flextone. I usually slam on the strings and use a lot of palm muting to get a rich chunky sound, but i could get this sound from this guitar a lot but not to the full extent as if i was gona use a ESP Ex-250 or something. Its not very noisy it has a GREAT clean sound and a very nice dist. sound. I am very content with the sound i get outa this bitch.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Shit!! Forget it this guitar came outa the store in mint condition, they had plastic on it n it was all tuned up n dey made sure it was good. I played the living crap outa it so i hada replace the HIGH E string (1st). I bought it from SAM ASH and they did a great job and giving me the guitar.....Hey and for a price of only ***$$200*** how could u go wrong??

Reliability/Durability : 5
I dont really think this guitar could stand a lota hell. My other guitar American Showster s/s metal load, DAMM!!!!!! u could throw tha off a building and it wont even chip!!!!!! If the GRX weights 10 lbs tha axe was like 30 lbs, it was real heavy!! Not good for concerts. THE PAINT JOB!!!!! WOW!!!!! THIS BABY SHINES EVEN WEN SHES FILTHY!! Oh ya and this guitar, i carry it around ina hard shell Case sooooooooooooo it doesnt get knockd around.

Customer Support : No Opinion

2 Humbucking pickups, a three way switch, a volume knob and a tone knob. Standard bridge. I replaced the bridge pickup with an EMG 81 (the standard pickups just suck) and added two knobs (2x volume, 2x tone) for the EMg and the standard pickup. I'm replacing the bridge with a shaller 456 bridge, somehow the original bridge has some sharp edges at the place where the strings come through the body to the top and I break my low E and A strings all the time).

Sound : 8
In this setup it suits my style perfectly (metalcore tuned down 1 1/2 step, and old school hardcore). This is mainly because I replaced the pickup. Even though it's a relitivily cheap guitar it plays great, I rather play this guitar than my strat and les paul. Somehow I really like the setup of the neck, it's thin and flat. The neck makes me play the fast metalriffs a lot easier and I don't get to much irritation to my wrist.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Everything about the guitar is great exept the pickups and the frets weren't filed right, I slit up my fingers a few time, so I brought it to my repair man and he did a great job on it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar does keep up with the live playing (exept for my strings breaking due to the bridge, but the problem will be solved soon). For the rest the guitar seems to last my playing (I play really hard and jump around, run and hit the guitar like it is some punchbag). I replaced the standard straps with Dunlop straplocks so I won't drop the guitar when jumping and the strap comes loose. I can really depend on it yes, I would never play without a backup though, I always bring my les paul with me for backup whenever I break some strings or when the battery of the EMG pickup runs out of power.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had to deal with em yet, I bought the guitar in New York and I live in Holland (Europe) so I can't go back to the store for warrenty issues. But I know a guy who always repairs my stuff for a cheap price and does a really good job at that, I've never had any problems with the stuff he fixed, on any of my guitars.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing bass for about 8 years and guitar for about 5 and until now it the best guitar I've had. The stuff I use:

Bass: Crate bl200x top
Trace & Elliot 4x10 300 watts cabinet
TCS bass with EMG active pickups

Guitar: Marshall JCM 900, 4100
Marshall 1960A 4x122 300 watts cabinet
Ibanez rgx20 with EMG 81 pickup
Epiphone studio Les paul with standard pickups and steinberg bridge and locking system.
Korg DTR1 tuning system (19")
Boss 7 band EQ (will be replaced by a DOD stereo 15 band EQ, 19" rack)

If it would be stolen or lost I'd buy another Ibanez (It's probably the only guitar and bass brand I'd buy from now on, I'm hooked to Ibanez). I'd get a Ibanes S series.

This guitar was made in 1999. I'm not sure where. It has 22 frets, 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob, and a 3-way selector switch. Pickups are H/H powersound 1 and 2. This guitar is jewel blue with a black pickgaurd. It has a normal bridge and comes with a whammy bar. It has a body that is like a cross between a strat and one of the RGs. The tuners are non-locking. I bought this guitar in a starters pack, so it came with a 15 watt Ibanez amp, a cable, a gig bag, and a strap.

Sound : 8
I don't really have a specific style of music, but this guitar can cover plenty. I am currently just using a 15 watt Ibanez amp with a Zoom effect processor. The pickups are not amazing, but for a starting guitar, they are pretty good. There is some noise with the Humbuckers, but it can be controlled with a noise reduction effect. Compared to other guitars I have played, the attack of the pickups seems to have a slight delay. There are ways to model your sound on the guitar itself. The bridge pickup sounds really good with distortion. In my opinion you can play a good variety of music with this.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
When I got the guitar, the body was covered in plastic. There were no flaws on it. Nothing was loose or crooked on it at that time.

Reliability/Durability : 6
This guitar could stand live playing if you are not too active while you play. During one of my rehearsals, I was playing and neck pickup started falling out. The screws and the springs are gone, and now that pickup has just sunken in the body. I have not had it fixed yet, so I just use the bridge pickup. The jack where you plug in your cable has fallen off a few times and sunken in the body, but it was nothing a pair of tweasers and a screwdriver couldn't fix. The finish seems like it would last, and the strap buttons are pretty solid. I would use it without backup once I got it fixed.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 2 years and my other guitar is an acoustic. I like this guitar for a starter but I plan on getting an Ibanez AX7221 seven-string soon. If you only plan on having this as your guitar, you should replace the pickups. When I was buying it at the store, I compared it to a Squier Strat, and chose this because of the sound. Even though it is a starting guitar, it is still Ibanez, so that is why I trusted it. It is a great guitar for the price.

This particular guitar was made 1999,in Indonesia.22 frets, soliid body It has 1 vol.,1 tone.Pickups are H/H,Powersound 1 and 2.The body is agatis, neck is maple.Black finish,as well as the pickguard. The body is RG/Strat style.Bridge is just a standard one.Non-locking tuners. The fretboard is rosewood with medium sized frets and a skinnier "C" shaped neck.No accessories with mine.

Sound : 5
When this guitar comes to fitting my style of music,{grunge, heavy metal, and other stuff} it does a fairly nice job on doing it.You might wanna be careful with input.I've read a few reviews and they said some things in the input can get messed with and would need re-soldering.I use it with a Marshall MG-15RCD amp,and sounds great through it.One minor note though, you might want to change the humbuckers to Seymour Duncan,EMG,Dimarzio or whatever cause they're not as powerful or distorted as the names mentioned. The neck pickup is the more of the deeper, bass tone. The bridge pickup is the cleaner sounding one, with kind of a hollow sound to it.Buy new humbuckers when you get the chance for this axe.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
We'll say just buy a new bridge, strings, and don't screw with the input. Also,if your a ludicrous detuning freak like me,take the cover off the back, unscrew the 2 screws next to the springs a little bit, and Voila!,you got a lower, even more detuned sound.

Reliability/Durability : 7
this guitar could stand live playing, after you modified it.I can't say I'm stupid enough not to have a backup, witch I would have. The finish is none to durable, but who cares.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with Ibanez

Overall Rating : 8
This is a great begginer guitar,it looks cool, and could be bad axe after its modified and tweaked. If it was stolen,I would buy a Fender, or PRS or something. Also, buy some new knobs for it.

Made in 1999, Indonesia, 22 frets, volume, tone, 3 way selector, H/H, Ibanez Powersound pickups, passive electronics, Maple, Strat-body (RG), non-locking tuners. I really have no complaints with this guitar, other than the non-locking tuners and the bridge (like many others, I discarded the bar).

Sound : 9
This suits my style fine. Unlike all of the Metallica-heads who reviewed this guitar (who are wasting their time trying to mimic the one-dimensional genre of metal and should give up guitar-playing NOW), I play a wide variety of things, trying to compose my own music that is non-conventional. This guitar sounds pretty unique and crisp for the price, let-alone compared to more expensive guitars. I use it with an Ibanez Black Noise, Ibanez Super Chorus, Ibanez Digital Delay, Boss Dual Overdrive, Boss Acoustic Simulator, DOD Milk Box, Korg AX1G processor all through an Ibanez Tone Blaster 25W amp. It has a very nice full sound, and the body being cheap wood actually helps more than hinders the acoustics of it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
If you're not a clumsy idiot who's always dropping things or breaking your guitar to be like someone else, I believe any guitar would withstand live playing (ever heard of the word careful? you don't have to be a raged maniac to rock). But yes this guitar in particular would withstand live playing. The hardware does seem like it will last, although I'm a bit scared of the output jack. They never seem to last on the more inexpensive guitars without re-soldering later. You can depend on it, but the strings more than likely will break. Backups are always good no matter what the situation.

Customer Support : 9
The warranty is one year. I've never dealt with Ibanez as far as service, but I believe in their products. Their cheaper stuff (pedals, amps, etc.) still sounds wonderful and better than most expensive stuff.

Overall Rating : 9
Pay no attention to the Metallica/Pantera/punk-wannabe morons (their time will come when they're fat and old and still playing the same three chords and jackoff solos). They obviously don't know what they're talking about and never should have picked up the guitar or any other instrument in the first place. I've been playing for 6 years, I own one other guitar (Kay) that is very unique that I've used for everything under the sun. I switch between that and the Ibanez depending on what sound I'm looking for. I would probably not buy another guitar nor would I play a Jimmy Page Les Paul if it was given to me (well you never know I guess). If it were stolen, I don't know. I don't believe in being rid of something and then replacing it with the exact same thing. Some things are omens.
