Made in 99, 22 frets, 1 vol, 1 tone, bad tremelo, copy strat!! its got 2 humbuckers, thats about all.

Sound : 8
It sounds great on a good, big amp, with clean or distorted sound. Great with distortion!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
Action sucked, so i fixed that with somemore springs in the back, and lighter strings. The tremelo is terrible and gets the guitar way outta tune.

Reliability/Durability : 1
TERRIBLE. NEVER*** use this guitar live, unless yer gonna smash it. what happens is when you put the cord in the jack, it rubs a wire inside, and breaks the wire, and then it needs to be sodered. The pickup sunk beneath the surface, and caused a short before I could get it fixed. Too bad. I guess I was blessed, now I have an excuse to get a strat.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Uhh, N/A

Overall Rating : 1
Ive been playing for less than a year, but i know what makes a good guitar and a bad guitar. if it was stolen, i pray the guy who stole it wouldnt come back and kill me for buying the piece of ape shit.

It has 22 frets, rosewood fretboard, non-locking tuners, 3-way selector, 2 humbuckers (which sux), black finish w/ a kinda dark greyish pickguard. Well I would say this guitar is as good as it gets for such a low price. The factory strings were cheap and useless... I would recomend removing them and putting in some D'Addario stings in them....

Sound : 5
Well..Honestly speaking...this isn't suitable for playing heavy metal. I guess the sound quality is in-between styles of music....nothing really sounds good when playing. Obviously the original pickups were weak as hell...but what can i say...its the cheapest guitar Ibanez makes... If u want a fat tone use the neck pickup...thats what i would use if i play w/ this guitar more than i do now... Well, i have decided to remove the cheap factory pickups and put in Dimarzio distortion pickups or seymor duncan pickups....

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Well...i'm not too sure how it came brand new cuz i bought it from my cousin....I guess it was ok when i got it...not much to complain for only $90..

Reliability/Durability : 6
Okay....never play live with this.... I guess it will last unless u decide to smash it after a concert, which i suggest you should if u have extra guitars... i can tell that the fretboard is wearing off already... Well...it would be downright stupid to play a gig w/o backup. I mean..strings could break anytime...u may never know....so do yourself a favor and don't embaress yourself....

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal w/ the company... All i do is blame my cousin for everything.

Overall Rating : 6
This guitar is good for its price...but if u can afford the Ibanez RG series then go for it...pay a little more, get something worth your money... I've been playing for 3 yrs now and i would have to say that this guitar would be better after the pickups are changed. I have a Epiphone Slash Les Paul Classic, BC Rich Warlock, and a Fender Richie Sambora Strat. The only reason i bought this is cuz i wanna collect guitars and it was dirt cheap. And i plan to purchase a Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Strat if anyone's selling...

I don't know what year it was made or where it was made. All I know is I bought it right at the beginning of 1999. There are 22 frets on it. There are volume and tone knobs and a 3-way selector. It is a black finish. The tuners are non-locking, and the neck is pretty small. I don't like the fact that it is only a 3-way selecter, I wish it were a 5-way. The volume and tone knobs are cheap and don't look very nice. The pick guard looks very ugly from being scratched by the pick and it isn't as dark as the rest of the guitar so it makes it look like black and gray, which looks pretty ugly. It came with a really cheap wammy bar, but the guitar doesn't stay in tune anyway so I just took that off. It doesn't really have any special features.

Sound : 6
It doesn't suit my music style at all. I play guitars very hard and I play alot of heavier Nirvana songs and other punk, alternative, and a little bit of metal. It definitely needs locking tuners for me because with the way I play it doesn't stay in tune at all. Some of it is just because these tuners suck! I use a BOSS Xtorsion pedal and a Peavey Rage 158 amp with it. It is noisy when I have the pickups closest to the bridge turned on. The guitar doesn't have a very full sound, but it does sound pretty good for a cheap guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Everything seems to be fine except that the neck could probably be adjusted just a little different.

Reliability/Durability : 5
I doubt that this guitar would last too long with live playing. I would play very hard on it if I was ever playing in public. I have had one problem with the guitar so far; the eplace where you plug your cable in came loose and the nut fell off and the plug-in fell inside the guitar.

Customer Support : 10
I haven't had to have my guitar fixed yet but I know that the people at the music shop would get the job done and they are all very nice.

Overall Rating : 6
I have been playing for about a year and a half now. I have had the guitar for a little over 7 months and it is okay. I am going to buy my friend's Epiphone Explorer sometime soon!

This 22 fret guitar is a cool one. It was a rosewood fingerboard and a clear pickguard. It has a volume and tone switch on it and you can set up the pickups in three ways. The features on this guitar are great for the price.

Sound : 8
It sounds great. The pickups could be better, but that's life. I play it on a Fender Deluxe 112 plus, see my review. This guitar gives great distortion and has a rich sound. The guitar can make any kind of sound from country to Metallica. It can do it all.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was set up by Ibanez ok. The first think I did was replace the strings with some Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings. The felt like cheap factory strings. The, I had to adjust the pickups to fit my taste. All in all, this guitar is great.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar can withstand alot.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 9
For the price, this guitar has it all. Lows, highs, and everything in between. The only thing I'd do to this guitar is replace the factory strings and the pickups and you have an excellent guitar.

dual humbucker, 3 way switch for the pickups, tone and volume controls.. what more do you need? a coffee machine?
the neck is a rosewood fingerboard on a very thin and fast maple neck came with some allen keys and a lead...

Sound : 9
this is a great guitar for begginers. its cheaps, and the sounds you can get with it are amazing... the other reviews have all said that this is a pretty crap guitar (almost all of them), id have to disagree... i mean this guitar costs less than quite a few effects pedals.
i play everthing from blues, to rock, to alternative, to metal and punk and this guitar hits them all pretty well. the humbuckers provide a nice powerful sound (although the bridge sounds a little hollow), and when theyre split (as i usualy have mine) not only do they produce vistually no hum, but also sound a little more powerful then just single coils...
ok i wont disguse the fact that this guitar is made of a cheap wood, but hey what do you expect? this wood actually seems to be a blessing in disguise. see, the wood is very hollow and seems to resonate alot. this means that you can get a nice soft mellow tone with the right amp... even our drummer was commenting on the nice acoustics of this guitar when played unplugged (and you know drummers, all that pounding...drummer recognising a nice tone... i don think so)
i play this guitar through a danelectro cool cat and a boss metal zone into a fender frontman 25r
the sounds are just great
for the price, you cant beat it

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
the action was set up pretty shockingly from the factory, but it was easily fixed, all else seemed pretty good for a guitar at this price

Reliability/Durability : 9
this guitar is built pretty solidly if i was at a gig i would only worry about the strings breaking. or bring another guitar for a different sound.. like a semi acoustic or something

Customer Support : 9
very helpful and the guys at my local music shop are pretty helpful.. theyll fix anything

Overall Rating : 9
this is a very nice guitar for a begginer... sure its no paul reed smith, but hey, for the price, id buy it again... even just to use a a backup or to take everywhere with me... team this up with a smokey ciggarette box amp, and you have a cheap setup to take everywhere

Made in Indonesia. 22 frets. Volume, tone, controls, 3 way selector. Has dual humbucking pickups. The neck is probably made of rosewood It has a non-locking bridge w/ a tremelo bar.

Sound : 6
It has a pretty good sound when playing rock and some metal/alternative styles. It sounds good on my fender frontman 15 when played w/ distortion, it has a clear sharp sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
The pickups were not adjustted properly on my guitar. Not really a lot of flaws. the guitar has a nice body good shape. i haven't really tested out the wood quality of the guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 7
The fretboard wears off easily, so you have to really take care of it. You could also tell after playing a while. I did drop it once and it seems that nothing happened to it, still working fine. I would use it on a gig without backup if the pickups were changed to better ones.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have never dealt w/ the company..has a 2 yr warranty

Overall Rating : 7
After playing w/ this guitar for 2 yrs, it still seems pretty reliable. Nothing major has happened to it so far. If it was stolen or lost, i would probably buy another one because i am not a beginner anymore. I have 2 other guitars, a Malmsteen Fender and a Washburn Dime333.
