It's my first guitar. It's cool. A 7 would do it it is not a wonderful piece but at that price it is not bad. The tremolo bar is fragile but the neck is very confortable.

Sound : 7
what i can say it is not wonderful but still good it has a pretty good clean sounding not as a strat but if is your first guitar that would do it. I don't have anyone problem with my guitar. I have 3 years of playing guitar mostly metallica, maiden... but also offspring, or three doors down and even the new shit slipnot or system of a down. It work for me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
everything good.

Reliability/Durability : 8
any problem with my guitar so far. but I take care of her I don't treat like a piece of shit. If you treat it right is cool. I think my guitar is here for another 3 years, she is a thought mother fucker.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never heard.

Overall Rating : 7
Good guitar a solid 7.

made in indonisia in 1998. has 21 frets, and a horrible sounding laminated top. basically a strat minus the second tone control. ssh config. ibanez "powersound" pickups. if you ask me, ibanez has no business making pickups. its basically a strat knock-off. complete with the same style bridge, neck, etc. gig bag included. not to many great features. pretty much a one-trick pony.

Sound : 4
i play everything. jazz, blues, metal, punk, and funk. this guitar sounds horrible. its made of some obscure wood called "agathis" it might as well be made out of plywood. the finish makes me think that the body was just dipped in a vat of paint a few times and left to dry. the pickups are noisy as hell, (except for the humbucker of course). there is NO Character in the tone. it sounds like your playing a synthisizer.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
the factory setup on this guitar was horrible. the strings were so high, i thought i was gonna cut my hand! the pickup adjustment was too high. the finish is horribly thick, and takes away alot from the tone. probably just to cover up the crap wood they used on this guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 5
not reliable at all! a few months into the use of this guitar, the pickup selector switch crapped out on me. had to take it in to get replaced. the bridge is a little rough, and breaks alot of strings. the finish gets dented easiily. definately wouldn't gig without backup. wouldn't even gig with it at all, it sounds horrible. i could probably rip the neck off this guitar with a little effort.

Customer Support : No Opinion
have never used them

Overall Rating : 4
if you are thinking about getting this guitar, DON'T!! there are many better options in this price range. go for a used epiphone or squier. or maybe a used mexi strat. don't get this guitar! i promise you, you won't be satisfied.

I bought it in 2000, think i'ts 1999 or 2000 Model.
This one was made in Indonesia, 22 Frets and a nice RG-like neck, Black Finish w/ white Pickguard. It has the typically Ibanez 5-way selector, 2 Single Coils and a Humbucker (Powersound Pickups are not the Best but do think they will put Dimarzios on a 250 $ Guitar???). The Fretboard is made of Rosewood, the Body is Agatis. It has a RG designed Body and comes w/ a Standard, non-Locking Tremolo (Strings thru Body, I like this because it is similar to an fixed Bridge).

Sound : 9
I play heavy shit (METAL) and I think this one can do it, I'm using a Metal Zone and some other Effects thru an Marshall MG80RCD. The single coils are not made for high-gain (buzzing too much). The clean Sound is OK. I think the Humbucker can handle the Metal Zone quite well, it kicks Azz !!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I think the Setup was good, there were enough Space between the Strings and the Pickups were set nice. I only tightened the Finetuning-Screws on the Bridge a littlebit cuz I need a bit more String Tension (I tune it very low). The Tuning machines were OK (It absoluteles stays in tune).
When I bought it the Jack was a bit loosen, I tightened it and got not any problems again. I said it before this one normally have a standard Tremolo, but I bought it without a Tremolo-arm, so I am not sure if it stays in tune if you are tremoloing but without using the Tremolo
it's stability is fine.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would definitley use this Guitar on a Live-Show (without a Back-Up) cuz I am playing on it for over 1 and a half year without problems. There are no problems with the Hardware, once my Strap slipped off but that was not a problem with the Strapbuttons (I was holding the Axe a bit too vertical).

Customer Support : No Opinion
I had never to deal w/ tha Company cuz there were no problems with the GRX.

Overall Rating : 10
This is my First Guitar, I bought it and got no fuckin' Info before but I NEVER regret anything. This is definitley not my last Guitar but I will still love it. I think everyone knows that this is a Beginner-Guitar and all these Punks should stop to compare this one with for e.g. an 1000 Dollar Axe.
This Guitar works very nice, I think it the Price can't be beaten and the Money/Value Relation is fantastic. Maybe it would look a bit better if the Pickguard and Pickups were black too but this doesn't really matter. If it was stolen I am absoluteley sure that I would buy it again. I think it is
a PERFECT Beginner-Guitar but you'll like it much longer, even you are getting professional. Nice Guitar, buy it !!!

Features : 7
this is a 1998 model, made in Japan oddly enough, most of the 40's are made in china. 22 frets, solid agathis body with rare electric blue finish, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Comes with 2 passive powersound single coils at the neck and middle, and a powersound humbucker at the neck. It's got a basic strat style body, personally i like the more pointed ibanez body style over the traditional strat, i'm not a fender guy. Strat syle bridge, 6 saddle, each with 2 allen screw adjusters. Non-locking tuners, that work really well, even though they're ibanez made. Medium thickness neck, comparable with a strat or tele, thinner maybe even.

Sound : 6
Suits my stlye pretty well which is rock/grunge, it also can get pretty nice clean channle sounds though it gets a bit fuzzy on clean chords. I play it through a 25 amp ibanez amp most of the time, but gigs i play it through either a roland 4x6" digital amp, or a fender m-80. Mine had a short in it from day one so everything buzzed, but that got fixed along with another minor problem i'll explain a bit later.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The factory setup was superb, nothing to complain about but the short in the humbucker, which made everything buzz. everything routed out fine, no scratches anywhere. everything was great

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar stands up live, probably as a backup though. In my band we call it the beast though, because it's been dropped so many times and is still going strong. no chips or scratches even after a dozen drops or so. I trust the strap buttons, they seem to hold without moving at all. Dependable all arround. I don't have a "backup" so i always gig with it. now to the problem... after about a year of hard playing the humbucker burnt out, so i took it to the local BCR and got all the pickups replaced. Seymor Duncan's all arround, 2 hot rails in the single slots and a screamin' deamon in the 'bucker. it'll shred anything now.

Customer Support : 4
Never needed it, when it burned out it was already out of waranty. normal 1 year warranty on it

Overall Rating : 8
Ive been playing it for about 4 years now, and i also own a squire (i know laugh, but it's a great bass) 5-string p-bass. no regrets about this guitar though, it'll beat anything for the price i paid, which with the new pickups was just over 350 bucks. If it were stolen i probably wouldnt get another, simply cuz i've got this one so custom to me, it'd be tough to do again. i particularly enjoy it's toughness, i love being able to bang it arround a bit and not worry about it, it's a tank. i compared it to a jap-strat and epiphone les-pauls and it won hands down. it's made me an ibanez man for life

Features : 6
i dont know where this guitar was made or when, and frankly, i just dont give a f*ck.
it has 23 frets...
laminated top... black, solid black color...
it has tone, volume w/ 2 pickups and a three way selector...
s/h PC...
the wood is mahogany (i think)...
with a satin finish...
double-cutaway...
rosewood neck...
this guitar came in a kit, gigbag, GT10DX amp, cable, GA20 tuner, strap, pouch, book, video, distortion pedal and picks were all included...

Sound : 7
i think the guitar is better for hard-rock sounds and should stay away from alternative w/ this...
GT10DX ibanez amp, and an ibanez ds-7 distortion pedal...
it isn't all that loud which is good i dont like to blast my music so i would recomend this guitar to NEone who plays it in they're room :)
the sound is pretty dull now but it used to be better...
it sounds the best w/ the overdrive turned up all the way... so i would stay with rock music.
it is my first guitar so hell ya im gonna like it!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
this is my first guitar so i dont know jack sh*t about this category but as far as i can tell, it was set up well in the factory, and no, there weren't NE flaws...

Reliability/Durability : 9
i could probably rely on this guitar, it has put up w/ all my sh*t so far, it can take banging around and prior to that i do take good care of it... the only thing on the guitar that gives me trouble is the godd*mn strings... everything is solid on it.

Customer Support : 10
i hav not had NE problems w/ this guitar so... well the store that i bought it in has been wayyyyyyyy helpful... props to SWISSVALE MUSIC STORE... thanks :)

Overall Rating : 7
i hav been playing for only a few months now so i am not an expert, but, i can tell that for the price i paid this is a fantastic guitar. if it were lost or stolen, umm, i would probably stay w/ ibanez so it would be the same type (for now)my fav. feature.... i dont really have one. i didn't pick it so i didnt choose it and yes i do compare it to other ones. but mines still the best:)
i wish it had flames( blue and green )
ya if u hav NE coments email me at: doctorkay2001@yahoo.com

Made in Indonesia in 1999. Strat style, 22 frets, Volume, Tone, 5-way pickup selector. S/S/H configuration. Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard. Agathis body. Non locking tuners and tremelo. Mine is Metallic Grape color. Which means Blue/Purple with sparkles. When I bought it online I thought it would look kinda fruity, but it turned out to be nice looking in my opinion. Standard features for a beginner guitar.

Sound : 9
I play emo, punk, rock. This guitar is good because it has a humbucker pickup, which makes the clean sound that I need to play. My setup is the GRX40 > No name 10 watt amp. However, I bring it to my friends house and play with his amp and effects. Then, it is the GRX40 > Dunlop Original Crybaby > Boss Metal Zone > Ibanez Smash Box > Digitech GNX1 > Crate GFX65. Nice clean sounds on the singlecoils. The humbucker is also decent. It sounds like any strat in the same price range. It sounds very good with the effect pedals and the amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I got this brand new online on Ebay. The action and intonation were pretty much on the spot. I didn't have to tweak it any. It came with warrenty and an instruction manual that tells you how to change the action, replace strings, etc. The pickups were fine. The controls were fine. The strings were below average. Everything worked as it should, which is not the best considering this is a $160 guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 7
It's a beginner's guitar. It looks like it would last aslong as you don't abuse it. I've had it for a month and nothing has broken. I would gig with it, but not without a backup. The strap buttons could've been bigger.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 9
This is my first guitar. I plan on getting better pickups and a new amp and some effects processors soon. If this were lost or stolen, I would save up for something better as I would need something better by then. There's nothing I love or hate. It's a good beginning guitar. I compared this to my friend's Squire strat. This is better in my opinion, but I might be biased. I don't wish for anything more for it because then I would just be greedy. I got what I paid for, and unlike other people who reviewed this guitar, I knew what to expect from it.

My guitar was made in 1998. I'm not gonna go over the features because everyone else covered it.

Sound : 9
The sound was good when I got it, but I changed the bridge pickup to a Duncan JB. Now the guitar sounds awesome. Currently my practice rig consist of GRX40 -> Zoom 505 II -> Ibanez Thrashmetal -> Ibanez GT-10. I only use that one for my "At-Home" jamming. In my band, I use the GRX40 -> Zoom 505 II -> Laney g130. I don't like the sound of the laney (it's not my amp anyway), so I'll probably get a Crate GFX-212 or a Marshall MG80RCD. I've tried the guitar with both and both sound amazing. The JB really brings out the sound of the guitar and I just love the sound of the 2 single coil (stock) pickups when they are on together.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Everything is pretty good now, I just want to get a little lower action without fret buzz.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Well, I have to rely on this guitar ... it's my only one. But I trust this guitar. I've been having it for over 2 years and I believe it'll hold up live.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with Ibanez

Overall Rating : 9
Good guitar. I'd buy it again, if I didn't want anything better. It's a good guitar for the money and it is my first so I'm a little partial to it. If anything would happen to this guitar I would definitely take out the JB and use it in another guitar. Something with similar features to this one, of course.
