Features : 7
22 frets, one volume, one tone, 3-way pickup selector. Five pickups. Based on the same body shape as the Ibanez RG series, with slightly more curved edges (can hardly notice the difference though). Came with gig bag, strap (not comfortable one, so I attached a special strap cusion to it), cable, tools, soft case and an Ibanez GTA10 amp. It's all pretty good value for the price. It was in a jumpstart pack, which usually has an Ibanez GRX20, but it was a special (though more expensive) edition so they put the GRX70 in there instead.

Sound : 8
This guitar is great for my music style (not sure what they call it, but it's the type used by bands like Hillsong and Planetshakers. I play these songs in a youth group band at a church. At home I use my GRX70 with an RP50 Effects Processor and an Ibanez GTA10 amp. At youth group I use the guitar and RP50 as well, but with a Fender RAD-BASS amp. This guitar really only buzzes noticeably when it's plugged into the GTA10 on full gain. Has all sorts of sound abilities. You can make it sound acoustic (but it buzzes a bit) or go flat out heavy metal.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Genrally everything was OK with this guitar except two small guidance things at the top in the headstock which came out because of small screw size but I've fixed it. The finsih is keeping its colour but it seems to be fingerprint prone; they are very easily seen on stage at youth group. But I just wipe it down afterwards.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar will certainly withstand live playing (I should know, every Friday I give it that test). The hardware is very shiny and appears to be holding fine. The finish, although fingerprint affected, isn't fading. The strap buttons are OK I guess; it's more the strap it came with that's causing trouble. I can depend on it and I use it on stage confidently.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I havn't had to deal with the company so I can't really say. I only needed to change the screws in the string guides.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for over two years. There's nothing I can think of that I wished I'd asked before we got it. I own a classical guitar but no other electrics. If it were stolen or lost, I would probably buy it again (either that or an Epiphone or something). What I love about the GRX70 is the fantastic looks and sound. I've looked at it next to other guitars that come in beginners packs and although it costs more it's much better value for money. If there was anything I wish it had it would probabaly be the locking-trem locks that feature on most Ibanez RGs but I can live without that.

For beginners and even some experienced guitarists I'd recommend lookign at the Ibanez GRX70.

22 Frets, 1 tone control, 1 volume control, 2 humbuckers and 1 single coil, nothing really special, but it works if you want to start playing.

Sound : 6
If you are into hard rock/metal you will really like this sound. It rocks pretty hard and the solo's sound good aswell as the powerful riffs. But if you are aiming for a blues/clean sound, don't get this one. It's a pretty noisy guitar, but then again, good for hard rock/metal etc.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
I haven't been playing for that long to know alot about different setups and such, but I do know that the basic setup isn't too good. The action is pretty high and I suggest you adjust it to get a nice feeling of it while playing.

The finish wasn't that good. If you look at some areas at the guitar you see real messy stuff sometimes, but ok..what do you expect from a cheap guitar?

Reliability/Durability : 9
I dropped it a few times by accident but I am sure that you could smash this guitar in the wall or ground a few times and it would still work. The electronics are a bit poor but nothing that would let you have the feeling it's gonna break any second.
The strap buttons are pretty poor though, if the strap is a bit twisted it just breaks loose and the guitar drops, thats a downside but there are ways to avoid that.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to receive support for anything..

Overall Rating : 6
I've been playing for about two years now and this is the only guitar I own at the moment so I can't really compare it to any other guitar, but that doesn't mean my feedback is worthless because I know what this guitar can do compared to other ones. I picked this one because it sounded nice (played hard rock/metal back then) and it looked nice. But now I notice the downsides of it and I am going to get a new guitar soon.

If you want to start playing, and you are into hard rock/metal you will love this baby for sure though..

bought new in 2003, all features pretty standard for a guitar of this price

Sound : 7
Very good for heavy metal, good for solos, dont buy this if you want crisp indie stuff

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
Poor electronic jack connector, very loose and kept interfering the sound, very annoying

Reliability/Durability : 6
Guitar fairly solid, finish is pretty manufactured standard, no brilliant, but once again what you expect for a guitar this price

Great for metal players, pretty sturdy and good sounds, let down by poor electronics for the jack connector

I play heavey rock and it plays well for solos after having the action lowered it is great. im using a carlsbro 100w with a digitech grunge effect (sometimes). sounds great for what i play no problems.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Action was awful when first brought but i had it set up a year ago and it has held very well. the finish is still very nice it has had a lot of abuse but still looks great however the toogles for the tone on the guitar has come loose and is prone to fall of at will.

Reliability/Durability : 10
No question about it this is so sturdy it has been thrown an bashed about for 4 years but still plays fine would definatly use as back up to my epiphone in a gig wouldnt use as a guitar on its own in a gig without back up as the strings snap easily the jack socket need to be replaced but that it the only thing ive had to do very solid reliable durable guitar (minus the snaping strings)

Ive Been playing 4 year and own an epiphone les paul standard. no problems with the ibanez was prefect as a beginner guitar an still is very easy to play especially with fast solos and for when i want to go nuts during a practice, not the best for chords. if it were stolen id claim insurance and buy another guitar but i would miss this one so much. compared to my les paul the les paul wins hands down but thats obvious.
overall a very good beginner guitar provided me with years of fun highly recomended

2000, Indonesia. The body is Agathis, thin rosewood neck, strat-style tremolo. The rest is just like the RG.

Sound : 6
If you are a bluesman you will hate this guitar. BUT... if you play hard rock/heavy metal/thrash and such, this is a good axe in its price-range. Sounds pretty good with mesa/boogie rectifier or peavey 5150. (If you are on budget, you will find these in a roland C30 combo.)
It is noisy, the pups give too much highs, the electronics suck- but what do you expect from a cheap guitar??? Pay thousands for a REAL GUITAR, and you will see the difference.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The factory set-up was terrible, but after the things being adjusted, I was very pleased.
No significant flaws, just a small one on the neck.

Reliability/Durability : 9
You shure can use it on a gig, if you're not embarrassed by the hum from the pups, and you have a tuner (it won't stay in tune for long). So if you are a member of a garage/school band and have eventually small gigs, it's OK. But no serious musician will use a Gio Ibanez ever.
Owned it for 4 years and encountered no problems. It's like brand new. The only problem are the tuners. They sound weird while tuning up lately. (Next time I change strings I will check it out.)

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 5 years. I owned this guitar for 4 years and I'm going to change it asap for something that suits my musical style:blues/rock.
IT IS A BEGINNERS GUITAR. It's cheap, sounds like $hit and you should buy it only if you don't want to invest more in a musical instrument or you want to smash it onstage.
It's worth the money, but if you can afford it, buy a Fender, Gibson, or at least cheaper versions such as Epiphone, or if you are a headbanger, try out an ESP, a japanase made Ibanez or something. Always buy the most expensive axe you can afford, because a good guitar inspires you!

22 frets, 1 tone control, 1 volume control. 2 humbuckers 1 single coil, 5 stand pickup switch, thats about it. Pretty good features for a standard guitar, except too bad it has no second tone control. No grade for features guitars are all about SOUND...

Sound : 5
I own a Squier affinity strat and i play a lot on this ibanez grx70 of my friend. The grx70 sounds very different but the clean really sucks compaired to the Squier i own. It also sucks with distortion , 2 humbuckers... but the single coil ruins it. The humbuckers ruin the clean, the single coil ruins the distortion, i dont hope every HSH guitar has this problem.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Its built even cheaper then my squier affinity strat... You can see glue and the humbuckers are wrapped with tape and you can see wires etc.

no idea, those are my friends worries

Overall Rating : 4
Why is this guitar made? Guitars twice as cheap sound and look even better. My friend bought it with a starter pack, if youre a starter buy a Squier or richwood. I also tried this guitar on 2 different amps it sucks on both.

22 frets built around 2002, volume, tone, 5-way selector, H/S/H, Im not sure what kind of wood, but it has a nice heavy feel. A strat type body without the scratchplate. Floating (NON LOCKING) trem bridge. Good for a first guitar.

Sound : 5
It suits my style Metal, im using it with a Marshall valvestate 80W, i find the sound is good. Quite a lot of variety in the sounds thanks to the pick up setup, if only the pickups were actually any good. My only real dislike with this guitar is the non locking of the trem, which means it has the tendancy to go out of tune when you dive.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I found the set up to be ok on this guitar, but the shop i got it from set it up so I dont know about the factory settings.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar has taken being beaten off walls with only a small chip in the headstock. My wall has come off worst with its exchanges with the guitar, this thing can take a beating.
The neck strap button came out when i started using plastic straplocks (the kind you twist on after the strap is on) but this was fixed easily enough using some Araldite glue.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

been playing around 2 years, this is my only guitar, ive played some other guitars, JEMs, Jackson Vees, it doesnt compare soundwise to them, but it holds its own against other entry level guitars.

Made in Indonesia, just read the reviews below to see the features.

Sound : 6
I play blues and classic rock, which this guitar is not suited for, this guitar is made for heavy-metal. The single coil is too noisy and can't handle distortion, the neck humbucker way too bassy; it is pretty useles because it is just the same as the bridge but more bass. For clean the single coil is good though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
The action is way too high, and it is not possible to lower it without fret buzz. The pickups are easily adjustable (except the middle) so it's not really a problem. The tone pot is scratchy, but that is probably due to old age. The neck is way too curved, and it can't be adjusted since it is only bent at the lower frets (1-5).

Reliability/Durability : 8
I've played gigs with it, and I'd say it's reliable, the finish too.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt eith them

It is a good beginners guitar, but for better players it's useless.

It has Triangle inlays, If thats a feature.

Despite what another review here says it is INDONESIAN MADE. Only Ibanez RG400 series up were ever made in japan. Now ONLY PRESTIGE MODELS are made in Japan. I think that other review was written by some over excited little kid.

Good ENTRY LEVEL guitar.

Sound : 4
Neck and single coil soud pretty good for an enrty level guitar.

Bridge p'up lacks any power and is very muddy sounding. Even my Westfield strat copy had better bridge sound.
However This can easily be changed by putting it through a larger amp with a distortio pedal. (I put it thru a Marshall full cab stack and it seemed ok.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Bought used so I dont know how theyre set up, but takes about 3 seconds to set up as it doesnt have a locking trem or demanding p'ups.

Flat black finish.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I know that this guitar is built like a brick so play as hard as you want. Finish is ok, had one dent when I got it but none since.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed customer support as I have a very good guitar shop friend.

Ive been playing for several years now, I've sinced moved up to an Ibanez RG570EX Japanese made. (Now thats a guitar!). When I got this guitar no model number was given and the picture was poor so I thought I was getting an RG270, oh well. I quite like it and for what it is it does its job quite well, other than the bridge pickup. Perhaps it could be altered but probably not worth the money havin a shop set it up. DIY. The new Ibanez GRGs which are bery similar are a bit better. If it was stolen i'd claim insurance an go buy some good cds.

The guitar was made in 2002. The you probably know the rest from the other reviews :]

Sound : 7
I play many kinds of music, mostly rock, metal and blues. Im running it through a old german tube combo and a Digitech Rp100A. I think that the sound is ok but I thought that it would be better for that kind of money. The bridge humbucker isn't too good, it doesnt make any noise but the sound hasn't got enough low's. The single is great for clean tones but when overdriven its too noisy. The neck humb is quite good for solos and stuff like that. The sound is not bad but i expected somthing better.
I play rock(AC/DC,Rainbow etc.)metal(thrash, heavy, black)and sometimes blues. It's quite good for distorted sounds and has really nice cleans on the single pickup.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I've bought it second hand. It was in great shape but the bridge was messed up. I took me about 2 hours to regulate it but now it's ok.
I can't say how it was when it was new.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I think that it's quite a reliable guitar. I didn't have any problems with it (except the bridge)

-(H/S/H)
-22 frets
-1 volume 1 tone 5-way
-Really Bad pickups(were you expecting better for the money?)
-No accessories
_non-locking tuners(they do the job )

Sound : 5
I play all sorts of music (classical/blues/metal)
-It can be a very noisy guitar with stock pickups
-Very trebley harsh sound
-Its good for most styles, shred is difficult and doesnt sound good
-Good as beginer/intermediate guitar/not plugged in

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action was almost perfect the strings were not much use
-Pickups badly set up
-Flawed finish on the neck
-Sharp egdes to frets
When I got it the neck was uncomfortable and very difficult to play with little give in the strings, with new strings and a wee bit of work its more comfortable to play than my stratocaster

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar is built like a tank it holds up well to my hitting of things (bed/stairs/cars/walls) the finish is sturdy and doesnt scrath obviously much its really hard to keep clean however one of the strap buttons fell out once fixed ive never had a problem i use it on stage and its fine

Customer Support : No Opinion
NEver had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 10
Compared to my strat , dean mlx or bc rich it can be more comfortable and as stock it cant compare in any other way, with new pickups (seymour duncans)it sounds as good as any other guitar through a lot of distortion, still trebley but in a good way. With a fixed bridge and better pickups it would be one of the best guitars under 500 pounds, Well worth the money, maybe not the most friendly beginer guitar

Well its all been said in the other reviews.

Sound : 5
personally i think the pick-ups on this are terrible. you just can't seem to get a good sound without it sounding very thin, and it doesnt seem to pick up the lower frequencies all that well, so the first and second strings sound very twangy, and overpower everything else.

sounds ok for beginners, but youl hear a difference in sound after if you have been playing a little while.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the action on this is fine, and if it is'nt, its nothing that you cant soon fix. i quite like the tone and volume dials on this, but the rest of it i think is a little too much like a lot of other guitars (you can see pictures to make your own mind up about that).
the jack socket on this was loose, and so was the volume control, i heard some other people had the same problem but its nothing that can't be fixed with a spanner. the neck on this is very thin and smooth, it feels nice to play if you like that sort of thing.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I have never had any problems with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
Well this guitar is great for beginners, it plays very well, but doesnt sound too great.

Features : 5
The guitar is made in Indonesia..has 22 frets and has 5-way selector, standr tremolo and the classic Ibanez pick-ups. The manual included said it was all made from Agathis woods...nd unfortunately the tuners have no locking.
The greek Ibanez distributors sell it with just the gig-bag and its tools...

Sound : 7
Well I play from classic rock'n'roll style and bluesy solos to distorted power chords and a little bit of wah...and it never let me down..
I'm also using a KORG AX100 multi-effects processor and a 65W Marshall Valvestate amp and well...it's the perfect amp for this guitar. I've tried it with a Fnder twin Reverb 65W and it sounded more than horrible!
The sound of it could be described as a "treble sound"...well with the double pick-up and don't have all those bass frequencies I'd like to. But it's a very good sound when you need to play mostly chords and arpeggios and you are not doing fast distorted solos cause then the lack of bass frequencies will be annoying obvious!
The variety of sound I can perfectly produce is realy satisfying! Echo and flanger effected sounds are the best clean ones and the line-distortion with a little wah or a violin-like heavy distortion are my beloved "hard" sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
When I first played with it I found out that the distance between the fretboard and the strings was huge...I couldn't even play a barre chord at the 7th or 8th fret...My fingers were aching!
But that was the only bad thing...when I lowered the strings and the pick-ups (a litle bit) then I got what I wanted!
The wood is OK to me..although I know it's not the best quality but right now a two years since I bought it, I have no problem with it, it's in a very good condition!

Reliability/Durability : 6
I can still remember my first live performance with this guitar...I was so nervous cause a few days ago, I thought found out that the bridge had a little problem which caused the B string to break with just a little more tension than normal! So I was thinking of the possibility of a string breaking during the gig...and it was enough to believe i would never use an Ibanez on stage.
But it was just my idea that the bridge caused my string to break...the gig was perfect with no broken strings...and I never again noticed that my bridge has a problem! Since then I use it with no back-up on stage...I just always have my old Japanese Squier Strat on stage just because I need it for a special set of instrumental tunes which would never fit with my Ibanez's sound!

Customer Support : 8
The Greek Ibanez distributor is a very good guy...always helpful and you can trust him for everything. I remember last April when I brought my guitar for the regular service...it was ready within 48 hours and when I took ot back...it was like I have just bought it!

Overall Rating : 6
Well it's not the perfect instrument but...it's reliable and has a nice feeling when playing...it's price is really affordable and has all the sound variety that Ibanez presents at almost every guitar they produce..So I think it was the best choice for the money I wanted to spend!

The guitar was made in Indonesia. 22 frets. 5-way selector. With cool Humbacker pickup. 1 volume knob and 1 tone knob and of course with tremolo. Gig bag, cable, tuner, case, tools and strap are included.

Sound : 7
This guitar is really nice for rocks and heavy metals. I'm using my tiny 10W Marshall amp and a Super Chorus effect with it. The single coil pickup produces a bit noise, just really a bit, it can't bother you when you play. It has a crunchy-rocky sound, really nice for rocks. But it's still not clean enough for other kinds of songs.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
The set-up was quite poor. I encountered some problems with it. First of all, the pickups weren't set properly. When I switch to another pickup, the guitar then went "off"(soundless). Then the tone knob became loose so I have to... I don't really blame the quality if the guitar or the guitar itself. The factory didn't set it up well.

Reliability/Durability : 6
At last, it's good. It just needs a lil bit set-up. I can depend on it. It's also good without a backup.

Customer Support : 3
The guys in the shop are nice and the guitar has one year warranty. BUT... I mentioned that i had a problem with the guitar, so I brought it back to them. They sent it to their maintenance center to get it repaired. I waited for a MONTH. When they called me to get back the guitar, I went for it. When I tried it at home, oh no... The problem is still there. At last, I just seek for my dad's friend to fix it.

Overall Rating : 7
This is really good for beginners. Because it is inexpensive and it includes tons of aceesories. And the guitar itself looks nice. Without those problems, it's nearly a perfect guitar for beginners especially for rockers. For those who plans to buy it, just don't forget to try it out and check the sounds and setups THOROUGHLY. I'm sure you'll it.

I like to play most styles of guitar except punk which requires no skill.

I build my own effects and i can get nice tones out of my Ibanez.
Sometimes i think my guitar maybe is meant for heavier stuff than what i play mostly but when i want to get aggressive it sure does the job. Good old Ibanez.

Made in Indonesia, 2000. 22 Frets, 5-way selector, Volume and tone knob. H/S/H config.
Smooth black finish without a "scratch plate",
Standard bridge with a tremolo which i keep with the tools that come with it.
Smooth neck (rosewood)

I'm a beginner (6 Months) and from the other guitars i've had the pleasure of playing this is the best for features

Sound : 8
I play mostly the heavier metal like 80s Metallica and Slayer style with my band. I have a Laney HCM15R which produces a nice clean tone and a good thick crunchy overdrive.
Yeah the single coil does seem to be noisy but its not as much as a problem as people make it to be.

Overall this sounds great on any amp or pedal, can do no wrong.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The guitar wasnt set up as well as it could have been but once my teacher had altered it, it was a lot better.

Strings are fine, tuning pegs are good for fine tuning. no problems as of yet

Reliability/Durability : 8
I've not had the chance to play live yet but i've played it for hours on end and its maintained throughout, it'll last a long while before anything needs to be repaired or replaced.
Strap buttons aren't fool proof, my strap fell off once while i was playing.
I'd use it without a backup

1 year warranty. The guy at the shop was very helpful, gave me a good deal (20 quid reduced!)

I've been playing for 6 months, i also own a Stagg guitar which aint all bad but compared to the GRX70 its nowhere near as good.
I'd probably save up for a BCRich or Gibson or somethin if it were stolen or somethin like that.

I love the sound and how easy it is to play, it's comfortable and doesn't give you any problems

It was made in Indonesia, 2000. It has 22 frets, 1 volume, 1 tone knob, 5-way selector. H/S/H
It has a pretty cool black finish, but there isn't a pickguard on it. Standard bridge with tremolo, but I never use it. Rosewood neck(really comfortable!!) It hasn't got any extra, but it's enough for me.

Sound : 6
I play mostly pop-punk with my band. Green Day, Offspring, Blink 182 etc. I used it with Boss DS-1, DS-2 with Laney HCM-30. This setup wasn't really good, with the original pickup... it was too muddy and weak for me... I can't find the right distortion.
It has OK sound with the original pickups, nothing special. I think for this price it's a good tone, but my friend have a Squier Stagemaster and it has lot of better factory pickups. Of course it's more expensive... and i don't like the Floyd Rose bridge (maybe i'm dumb)... The single coil has cool thin sound... but a bit noisy.

I bought a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck model and now I use it with Laney TF300 with the built in distortion. It's suit my music style perfectly... I love the JB in it. With the JB i would rate it for 8-9!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The factory set-up wasn't too good. If it's your first guitar, go to a good shop, or to a friend to set-up it right! First of all: change the strings! I recommend Earnie Ball Hybrid Slinky.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This is a very good guitar for it's price! You can depend on it, but after some time you can loose one of your knobs... I play live with it and i haven't got any problem.

It was come with 1 year warranty. Now i play on this guitar since 2001.. I haven't got any problem...

Overall Rating : 7
I recommend this guitar to anybody who just want to start playing the guitar. I simply love this guitar. Maybe there is some other good deals: check out the Squier guitars too. After 2 years i will make some work on it... I will change the volume knob, clean it inside, outside.... It's a cheap guitar with pretty good features...

It's all you need when you are a beginner

I play metal, punk, blues, rock and soft. And I don't understand why some people are complaining about the sound. I use a marshall AVT100 and a MT-2 of boss and you can reach every sound that you like! Just 1 thing: it is true that the single coil gives a fuzz sound, but only when you aren't playing. hen you begein playing, it stops.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
No problems. But i'm wondering. Lots of people are complaining. I think that when you can play guitar, you set your guitar up by yourself. Only the bridge could be better, but it's lots better than an epiphone bridge. Because with Epiphone, strings are breaking every second. The input jacket came loose to, but you can fix it yourself, and the volmue knob fell off to. (Is it that much trouble to put that knob back?)(But for that price, it's not bad)
Nut lockers should be welcome, that'll solve the trem problem.

Reliability/Durability : 8
You can rely on it live. Certainly.

It is a great beginner guitar. It's a lot better than squier and other brand that are saying "made by"
I'm going to sell this one and buy a rg570expk, but if I wasn't to buy another I wouldn't sell my precious honey.

I really like this guitar, it has 21 frets, 5 way seletor, only volume and tone controls. The pickups sound good, it has a couple of Humbuckers, one at the neck one at the bridge and a single coil in between, they sound amazing with distortion. I like the finish of the body, although it does kind of scratch easily. It has a nice weight to it and a strat style bridge that sometimes makes the strings go out of tune. For #169, I think it's a bargain.

Sound : 7
I play Alt rock, so this guitar suits my style perfectly. I think I might change the pick-ups but they do sound pretty good. it sounds great with my friends Peavey Milestone III Bass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I love the fast neck on this guitar, i think it is one of it's best features. When I got the guitar, there was absolutly nothing wrong with it. Frets are pretty good and a filed down pretty well.

Reliability/Durability : 7
This guitar is solid. I've bashed it a few times and it still remains flawless. I can depend on it and i think it'll last for a long time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to use them, but i hear they are quite helpful.

Overall Rating : 8
They have been many harsh reviews about this guitar, but I think it a cool guitar and it's pretty damn good for the price. If it were stolen I would track down the theif and beat to death with his own shoe.

well its all been said in the other reviews.

the neck Pup aint really worth playing unless its too your taste, but like all guitars in this price range you aint gonna get very good quality. but i think the bridge Pup is great for metal. suits my style perfect.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
had mine a while now and only thing that annoys me is it goes out of tune quite fast other than that its great, the guitar is very light with a thin neck which is easy to move fast on. so all you speed metalers will enjoy the feel of it.

Reliability/Durability : 7
well i wouldn't gig with this guitar but sure as hell wouldn't put it away during practice, i think it plays great for the money and nothing goes wrong, but like i said "for the money" so if i gigged with it i wouldn't trust it. would make a good back up tho.

couldn't tel ya

Overall Rating : 9
overall id give this guitar a 9 i think its great for begginers up to about 2 1/2 years. if you been playing longer than this then save for a better quality guitar. but still i love this guitar i dont think many of the other reviewers gave it a chance they seem like they were looking for things to go wrong just because its a budget guitar. so if you want to buy it give it a play or if this will be your first or second guitar get someone to show you what it can do and i bet you like it.

This guitar has 22 frets, body strat style,a H/S/H pickup configuration. It appers a great guitar for his price! I still using it and a Ibanez SA160 (it's better), but i never have problems since i was a beginner of electric guitar.

Sound : 7
I play punk-rock,punk,and sometimes rock. This guitar has in my opinion a very good blasted sound, using the bridge Humbucker, and a Marshall Amp. The punk-sound distortion sound very well.I have also a Zoom GFX-707 guitar FX processor, and this guitar works great with it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I have no problem with this guitar, but i don't like the cheapy construction pickup with Standard Tremolo (like a Strat).

Reliability/Durability : 7
I play this guitar with a Marshall JCM 900 saeries amplifiers and it sound very well. Heavy Palm muting can perhaps detune the guitar, but it's not a very big problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
i never deal with them.

Overall Rating : 9
I think this guitar was perfect for me when i was a beginner. Now i have an Ibanez SA160qm that sound muche better, but i sometimes use the GRX70 because it's a very good guitar in my opinion.

I think the GRX has limited features. It would be nice to have more than two controls. I think the neck is good as it has 22 frets and has a very cool headstock look.

Sound : 7
I like the sound it produces. I think it has a very heavy sound and is great with Distortion. But the Bass pickup often causes trouble. I like playing with the treble pickup only.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
As I said, the neck is great for me. I dont like the shape of the body of the guitar. It feels big and a bit akward. There are problems with the input socket and volume controls though. I have had mine for 3 months and the socket has come loose once and the tone control has fallen of three times.

Reliability/Durability : 5
I can only say that the strap buttons are brilliant, Mind you I have a really good strap.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
I wish it had more electic features for the pickups. I am planning to take off the neck and stick it on a different guitar though.

Pretty basic beginners heavy metal guitar. Standard tremolo (strat style), 22 frets, H/S/H pickups, 5-way selector, 1x volyme, 1x tone, dark blue finish, rosewood fretboard, crappy tuners.

If everything on this guitar would have higher quality then this guitar would be perfect for any beginner! But as it is now then I pity the fool that buy this crap.

Sound : 6
Let's just say this guitar is only for beginners... The middle and neck pickup is worth NOTHING. You can rip them off and throw them away immediately. The bridge pickup is "usable", it's not good but you can use it and not be totally embarrased about it. The sound is kind'of dead and bad.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The finish doesn't seem to be that much crap, but still I don't think it would last that long.

The neck feels like a toy guitar. Cheap and "plastic". The neck and body joint is poorly made so the neck is straight but still the action becomes crappier for every fret. Cheap crap.

The tremolo is also kind-of crap. Sometimes it can keep the tuning like a good floyd rose, and sometimes it drops an octave or two (exaggeration) after a slight touch.

The pickups adjustment is crap. They're basically just crammed in there and "let the customer do the real job" style adjusted.

Reliability/Durability : 4
This guitar could probably stand a little bit of live playing, but I would use it onstage only if it was the last guitar on earth and I had a gig in 5 min. The hardware would probably first start to brake down, because the cheap tuners with a "plastic-feel" doesn't seem to be reliable. When I think of it, the whole guitar feels "cheap" and plastic. The strap buttons won't hold crap (you'll have to buy strap locks if you don't mind some bumps and bruises on the guitar).

But if you would use this one on stage then it would probably be a backup of a backup guitar, because I don't trust this guitar. It may not be true, but when I use it it feels like a cheap poorly done "made in china" toy.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 6
Four words, you could get better. This guitar would be great for a beginner, but stil you could pay less and get better. A lot of people have slagged the Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 but still it cost about 100$ less and is mutch more better than this piece of crap. I really don't understand why Ibanez doesn't care about their overall quality, they make great guitars like the Jem and a lot more, but still they make cheap crap under the same name. They should do like Fender & Squier and make the cheap crap under another name so they don't drag Fender in the dirt :)

But if you're a beginner and want to impress your friends then buy this. You can always brag that Ibanez guitars are also used by Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci etc. And it looks more like a heavy metal guitar than a hard rock screaming Les Paul or a rednecks best friend Telecaster. This may sound harsh that I'm saying you should only choose this guitar for it's looks, but let's face it... this guitars sound sucks so the looks is the only thing keeping it from the junk jard.

So if you want to look cool while practising then throw your money away and buy this crap. Fool.
