I bought my sunburst GX-90 at Attina's Music Fayetteville, Ga. April,2004. The model had been discontinued (why?) Anyway it was new,
I paid $500. tax included with a hardshell case. The first thing that
attracted me was the simple straightforward looks. Iam a singer/songwriter and I was looking for a simple tool for work. For the price point the guitar is superb. Mahogany back & sides, Spruce top. Nice sound. The Masa magnetic pick up is much warmer than piezo
pick ups. The neck feels great in my hand and gives outstanding playability. Tuners are very good and electronics are very usable.

I am a country writer. The guitar looks the part and sounds the part.
The eq features a knob to increase or decrease boost for the B & E
strings. Really cool.

This was made in 2000 in korea. Solid Sitka Spruce Black great pickups. Mahogany back and sides, Black Gloss finish, Dreadnought, A/E/ I can't figure out what kind of tuners they are, they don't have a specified name on them though they are gold. Guessing Grovers. Nice neck

well the sound is pretty great. I used to have a Takamine EF-341C but it broke and I couldn't find anything as comprable to it than this. it is bright and rich plugged in, deep and full unplugged.
I have had to take it in twice since i bought it because of a buzz that won't go away.

Terribly set up because the buzz would not go away. Pick ups great, Buzz, buzz, buzz on the 15th frets

Well, it has been a nice piece so far. I just wish I could find out more about it. It seems like a solid guitar all around. There are strap buttons that are gold, tight. I haven't played it upright live for longer than 45 minutes but it seems to hold true. I would always have my old crappy guitar I built from scratch as a back up because though it looks like junk, my old guitar is solid wood and sounds great, the finish just looks terrible considering it was my first one to put together.

I have been playing for nearly 16 years and I have had a Takamine EF-341C, Martin DM (which I destroyed on accident which stinks, that is why I had to find a new guitar which was this one...though it is totally different all around) and an old Samick which was my second guitar I have had for nearly 10 years. I won't throw it away because it has given me so much joy, though it is junk in reference to my other guitars. I don't know if I would by this guitar again considering I haven't had it but for 4 months. I think I would buy another Martin. I have looked all around for guitars that are semi-professional to professional considering I perform, but due to funds, I could not find one to fit my needs, this one was one I found that sounded great. I don't know what catagory it is under, but it sounds great. I wish it had a different pick guard because it is ugly looking, I'll most likely have it switched soon. If anyone knows anything about this guitar i.e. value of it new, if it is a semi-professional guitar or not, anything about it please contact me at kingzub@hotmail.com Thanks a bunch...pn

This is a 2000 model made in Korea. It has a solid top with a SWEET Black to cherry sunburst finish. What makes this guitar so cool is the MASA90 humbucker. It gives the guitar a great sound, more to follow. The top is solid spruce w/ mahogany back, sides, and neck. Dreadnought shape w/ the one downside; no cutaway. but col none the less. 9 for no cutaway.

This is what makes this giutar stand out from its peers. I played this one in the shop plugged into a fender princeton chorus and it sounded very sweet. I play (try to at least) a lot of acoustic rock like Sister Hazel, Hootie, Dave Matthews, etc. and needed a good solid top axe. The pickup has nice, deep tones and no piezo brittleness, even though the highs are clear and very controllable w/ the eq. the humbucker sounds great. the top is also very loud, so it sounds good unplugged

The finish on this guitar is good, especially for the price. The sunburst is cool, much better than the black finish this guitar is offered in. the woods seem to be of good quality, relatively. the only flaw/ disappointment is the fretboard. the rosewood seems to be a little dry and will need some TLC with some lemon oil to get in shape. the neck is thin and is pretty fast.

I would use this guitar for a gig, if i could get one. If I needed a backup, I would get another GX90. The finish seems thick enough to last a while. I replaced an ovation celeb with this guitar, so it feels a little light and i am used to haaving the plastic back to bang around. have to be more careful now.

Have ot dealt w/ Ibanez. Gordon's Music was great. I origionally bought an Ovation, but it was defective. I took it back and they gave me a loaner while I waited for them to special order the GX90 for me. Great service

I have been consistently for about 2 years and have had an Ovation Celebrity for most of that time. I searched and searched for my upgrade to a nice, solid top guitar. Looked at Dean, Cort, Ovation, Taks. The sound of the humbucker on the GX90 is much better and most complete from bass to treble than the piezos on the other guitars, plus the finish on this guitar is SWEET! If you are looking for an upgrade to your first solid top or just a second, third, fourth, etc. guitar with a great sound, check this one out. Ask about the Sunburst finish, i haven't seen it much on the net and they had to order it for me, but it was worth the wait. For the price, definately a 10.
