I just bought this guitar! Its a 2000 model so its brand spankin new, it was made in japan. It has 24 jumbo frets, the finish is kinda thin ive heard so i think ill be paying attetion to that. The guitar also has one tone and one volume control,5 way selector,H-S-H pickup config.,the pickups are a bridge v8 a middle s1 and a neck v7 these pickups are outstanding!!!The body is great as well, nice feel super thin neck for fast playing! Its got a liscensed EDGE floyd rose on it and a locking nut so once you tune it you rarely have to tune it up again unless you play constantly.I got a good discount on a case that was marked 150 and i got it for 85 not that big of a deal but it helped a bit.

Sound : 10
AWESOME SOUND!!!!!I play anything from punk to heavy metal especially old metallica and this guitar is perfect for that! Right now i have no amp i have this little crappy pocket amp that i use witha pair of head phones so i cant tell you much on the sounds from different amps. Although i did play it on a mesa boogie when i bought it and a nice little peavey and it sounded great on those! The guitar has no noise what so ever and even on the tiny pocket amp i ahve it makes no noise and that little amp is old and the wiring is kinda faulty so that means this guiatr has no noise at all whic is good. The guitar has a real lively sound full of deep rich sounds to high bright sounds its very versatile in sound.I love distortion so when i played on the mes boogie and the peavey naturally i selected those soudn settings and it was awesome it, but all i cna say is that the guitar sounds great any way you make it sound so its very workable.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Great set-up no problems.Pick ups were perfect when i got the guitar and havent given me trouble yet.Everything looked nice on the guitar it was all set up really well.Although ive heard about those finish complaints so im gonna watch for that and if worse comes to worse ill just get it repainted and refinished with something more durable.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is built like a titanium bomb shelter it will withstand anything so i dont have to worry about damaging it excpet for the damn finish.Starp buttons feel like they were niled on there and then melted directly to the guitar i feel confident about using a strap on it.So far this guitar ios real dependable, i dont gig so i cnat say mcuh about that.

Im not a professional player in fact ive only been playing about a few months but my dad knows his shit and he saw that this guitar was a killer guitar hes been playin for 35 years and he is aweosme at playing he has an old 70's telecaster american deluxe series and is interested in buying an american dleuxe fat strat so he knows his stuff! And hes been teaching me to play so as of now i am getting pretty good and when we were at the store he realized rtight away that this was the guitar that he knew would be perfect for me.I didnt wnat a run of the mill pos beginners guitar i wnated a guitar i could play forever and this guitar is it everythign is perfect on it! If iot were stolen id kill the person that stole it and then buy a new one so that i could have 2 guitars! I compared this guitar to an ESP-M-100 AND M-200,and this guitar was far superior i also played a few of the other cheaper ibanez rg's and this one kicked their ass so im happy with this purchase! In fatc i was even impressed by the color which was called sour apple sparkle but it really looks more like a greenish gold or champagne color so i like the guitar its awesome i recommend it!!

RG570 in Gray Nickel finish(pretty),'99 or 2000 model,Japanese,24 frets, basswood body, stock Ibanez humbuckers in the neck and bridge (v7 and v8, I believe), single coil (S1)in the middle. 5-way selector, 1 volume, 1 tone, licensed Floyd Rose double-locking EDGE tremolo, gunmetal hardware. Maple neck with a strip of Bubinga. Jumbo frets, rosewood fingerboard. Came with a couple small booklets about the Floyd, and a bag of allen wrenches.

I'm probably forgetting something, but I'm pretty sure someone else has me covered.

Very Standard stuff. The Edge tremolo beats the hell out of the Lo-TRS on the cheaper Ibanez guitars, though not as nice as the LO-PRO EDGE (JEM, Prestige editions only, I think).

If it weren't for the bridge being so nice, I would have rated it a 6.

Sound : 4
I play mostly heavier alternative rock. A lot of people like this guitar for metal, and that's why I bought it too.

I think the tone is very empty sounding. It doesn't really lack for bass or anything, it's just on the 'thin' side. Hard to describe, other than saying the sound is sterile. No life in the tone. Unfortunate setback considering how comfortable it is to play.

Pickups are garbage, at least on mine. They're stock, but still. The middle pickup is useless, and the guitar hisses on positions 2 through 4. Zero difference between the rhythm and treble settings. Disappointing.

Currently I use a Boss GT-3 and a Trademark 60 combo by Tech 21 (sweet). Like I said, the guitar hisses on 3 of the 5 positions, audible even through the headphone out on the GT-3. I have a cheap plywood Kramer 111s with 3 singles that makes less noise than the Ibanez. Sad.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Factory set-up left a little something to be desired. Strings were nice and low, which was good, but the low A and E buzzed like crazy from the 7th fret on down. Raised the action slightly and adjusted the truss rod, which eased the buzzing. Middle pickup was so high it interfered with playing. Otherwise okay.

Putting the first impression of the set-up aside, the neck plays great. Smooth. Not as nice as a Musicman Axis, but pretty damn slick. Too bad it sounded like crap.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Seems pretty solid. Banged it into a ceiling fan (!) and it didn't get a scratch. Neck is thin, but sturdy. I'm not worried. Never gig without a backup, teenage America.

I've been playing for 8 years now. I have a Gibson Les Paul, and a cheap ass Kramer Focus 111s that keeps surprising me. I was really disapointed in this guitar, especially considering I played one in the store and liked it before ordering one. I checked out some others too, including a RG520QS (same guitar minus the middle pickup), an S-series Prestige model, and some of the other lower end Ibanezia.

I've sent the guitar back for a refund, actually. Whether or not it was just a problem with the pickups/wiring (it was just so NOISY), I'm not getting another. Just don't like that Ibanez tone. I'm a Les Paul addict, though.

My advice: Hear any guitar you're interested in THROUGH YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT. If they have it at the store, great, otherwise bring in your own crap and get a REAL estimate of how that instrument's gonna be at home. Wish I had.

Ultimately, guitar's not terrible, neck feels good, but just not what I was looking for. And the pickups sucked.

Made in 1992. It is the year they came in cherry sunburst finish. H-S-H humbucker configuration. Very smooth and fast neck. Very slim. It definitely doesn't play like a gibson. Pickups are of high quality and put out as good as any on the market. Great tuners.

Sound : No Opinion
Can cover any sound but it really doesn't have its own sound. This is a great guitar. I can get rich sounds, smooth sounds, bright sounds, pretty much any sounds.

The japanese make the best cars, the best electronics, hey why not guitars too. This guitar is very well made. No dead frets and no buzzing strings. It is very clean sounding. The original finish is long gone. I had this guitar painted in a metallic green burst finish by a custom painter. It looks pretty good but the guy didn't really nail the color I wanted and I went through a lot of trouble.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
This guitar was my first electric. I have had it since 1992. I learned many of my first licks on this guitar and I will always keep it no matter what. I have played shows with it and it holds up very well but I am scared to death to play with out a backup. If one string breaks I am screwed because the whole guitar goes out of tune. This guitar has a floating trem which I don't really like but oh well. Anyway I have moved on to teles because they are simple and they suit my style. hell they suit almost any style with the right pickups and they are very comfortable. But like i said i will always keep the guitar because it was my first.

Great guitar but if I was thirteen again and buying my first guitar I wish I had gotten a just a plain old fender strat.

Made in 95 in Japan, NOT KOREA!!! Just to let you know if you are reading this and own an RG570 or are looking to buy one pay special attention to the details. There are a lot of people trying to pull off their RG470's and such as 570's. There is a difference!!!
The RG570 is made in "JAPAN".
It has the "bubgina strip" down the back of the neck.
It has the "REAL Original Wizzard" neck.
It has the "Edge" trem.
It has the "V7, S1, V8" pickups.
If your RG570 in question doesn't have all the above features than it well......isn't a 570.
Just thought I would let you know, I used to own an RG470 and the 570 is by far more superior. The neck and trem deffinitely are of higher quality.

Sound : 10
This guitar suits my style perfectly, which is blues to death metal crunch. I use it with several Marshall amps(6100, JCM 900, 1987X plexi RI)and a line6 pod. I have previously used it with a Mesa DC-3 and a Marshall JMP-1 and a Digitech GSP 2101. More recently I have used it with a Visaul Sound Jeckyl&Hyde pedal also. I haven't found this guitar to be noisy at all. The sound to me is very rich, full and agressive but can be sweet and buttery when the volume control is rolled back a bit. I think this guitar can make just about any desirable sound there is. Very versatile. Definitely the most versatile guitar I have ever played. I have owned several quality usa made strats and they just don't compare, the 570 sounds more like a "strat" than a strat does. Put the pickup selector in positions 2,4,or 5, roll back the volume a bit and can we say "and you paid how much for that Fender?" That's the nice side of this guitar, but this guitar is mean also. It can put out the most powerful crunch when ran straight into a Marshall 100 watt tube amp, Tone to the bone -in your face. This guitar can cover SRV to Sepultura.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar came setup with very low action. Not to my preference so I raised it some. The finish is very nice, no flaws whatsoeverafter.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I think this guitar could withstand a nuclear war. This thing is built like a tank. I have never owned a guitar this long without having to replace at least a pickup switch. It's been 5 years and it still is all original and works like it did the day I bought it. Every thing after 5 years has been very durable. I have banged this guitar against things so many times and it still looks like new. I would and have used this guitar without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed any.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 14 years. I would definitely buy this guitar again. As a matter of fact I have. I love everything about this guitar, it is as close to perfection as can be.

its a great guitar...just try one out for yourself. its neck is ridiculously thin...very comfortable to play. the only downside is that the strings are spaced further apart...a tad too much for my liking, but thats not too big a deal. has an h-s-h pickup configuration and locking trem. this thing was built for metal. i use a dod fx7 for distortion and noise gating and with that alone you can get some real evil sounds. like everyone else said, though, break a string and your up a creek. definately bring a backup. thats the only reason i give it a 9 instead of 10.

Sound : 10
like i said, perfect for metal. it sounds great with distortion. i use the neck position almost 100% of the time, but when you go clean it sound isnt all that clear...kinda a little muddy. the second position though is great for clean parts if you have the ablility to quickly switch, something that im just too lazy to learn.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
the action is the best i ever played...but dont ever attempt to set this up yourself. dont even think about changing tunings by even a half step or your bridge will get real messed up (drop d type tunings the exception to this rule). even be careful with changing strings...its best to go 1 at a time where once its replaced, tune it...otherwise it will take forever for the bridge to readjust. finishes on this good...mines iron peweter which kind of looks like a metalic black.

Reliability/Durability : 10
when i play live i really let this thing have it, and it can definately take it. never goes out of tune no matter how hard you hit the strings (unless you break one). the most solid guitar ive ever played. my one gripe is the paint job...VERY THIN!!!! probably the worst ive ever seen. i once dropped an allen wrench accidently about 6 inches form it and the paint just flaked right off. ive also had numerous other paint chips. ive never chipped paint on any of my guitars except this one. i really dont care about cosmetics so i still give it a 10.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had a problem, never dealt with them.

ive been playing for about 7 years now. other guitars i have are a kramer zx30 (crap) and yamaha pacifica 112 (nice sound, not so sturdy), so i consider this my first GOOD guitar. its a good guitar at a decent price. i was even considering getting another for a back up. im definately happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.

99, Japan. 24 Frets. HSH. Gray Pewter, nice look. One tone, one volume. Floyd rose rip off tremolo. Not bad, but I've seen better.

Sound : 3
I play everything except country. This guitar doesn't cover any of them. Maybe if you're into noise. I'm using it with a Fender Stage 160 (GREAT solid state amp, go try it, now). It's awfully noisy. The humbuckers are too hot, not fat, and just plain muddy. The single coil is okay, not terrible. Most unversatile guitar I've ever tried. I hate it. I'd sell it, but I'll probably keep it for decoration.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Good action, nice wizard neck. Too bad it has a rosewood fingerboard, and a 13" radius. It was in perfect condition when I got it, but it's a little thin paint.

Reliability/Durability : 7
It's pretty durable, and the hardwear is like a rock. Finish will probably wear off soon. I replaced the strap buttons, I always do. I woudln't gig with it if my life depended on it.

This guitar has a 24 fret neck, tone and volume control and a licenced Floyd Rose tremelo. Passive electronics with low profile fat frets. A pitch black finishand gotoh tuners

Sound : 5
This guitar has extremelyt high output pickups. To spicy for a good clean sound .This is a heavy metal shredders guitar. It gets a 5 becouse of its lack of versitility, but good metal guitar

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar has amazing action. When setup right. Out of the box it was not exactly a dream machine. The finish was well done but nothing special. My biggest complaint about the actual guitar was the sloppiness of the interior, it was and still is not done very well at all

Reliability/Durability : 6
As long as a string does not break your home free. Because of the tremelo if one string breaks they all go horribly out of tune. You could not even fake it if you had to. I'm giving it a six because of the string problem

Customer Support : 9
Ibanez is a good company. I have even returned a guitar and they did not give nme a hard time at all. Mine had a one year warranty

Overall Rating : 7
This is a excellent intermediate shredders guitar. It has a very very fast neck which I have come to love, a tremelo system capablr of going three steps either direction and it looks like a guitar that would kick your ass. If your upgrading from beginner and are in to metal this is the guitar for you

First and foremost IBANEZ GUITARS ARE CHEAP PIECES OF SHIT, the hardware on this guitar seems like it was made of aluminum, it is that bad. What do you expect from a mass produced guitar from japan which is made by 5 year old japanese girls? The pickups are thin sounding, my single coil sized humbucker sounded thicker than these pickups! The body is cheap basswood (bad for tone) and some odd colored maple for the neck. The tuners are ok. But the finish is real real thin, be careful! And the neck is not one but TWO pieces of maple laminated together (cheap cheap) just look behind the 3rd or 4th fret.

Sound : 1
The sound of this guitar is the worse part, i have no idea why ibanez sells so many of these shitty guitars, they are crap. It sounds like a piece of plastic. I found it to make only one sound, the thin sound. Like a real bad strat copy. It is VERY NOISY even on low-gain settings.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
The frets on this guitar BUZZED like a jar of motherfuckin' bees! I raised the action up high just like how i likez it, and it still buzzed, and i even adjusted the truss rod, and it still had buzz on frets 1-5 like a mofo. The electronics were noisy on the pickup selector as well as the volume knob, not bad for a brand new guitar!

Reliability/Durability : 1
This guitar wouldnt last very long if you had to defend yourself with it, i dropped a little dinky boss pedal on it and it went right through the finish and put a nice 2inch long cut in the wood. So i dont think the durability is too good on it. Quite frankly i'm afraid its gonna fall apart.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I have been playing for 6 years and i think if i had to buy another new guitar i would save my money and buy a NICE USA JACKSON GUITAR there is no comparing the two, USA jacksons are built like fuckin tanks. If i could do one thing for this guitar it would be to sell it to some stupid young sap who likes ibanez guitars because of all the ad space they buy in magazines and all the no talent motherfuckers they pay to endorse their shitty guitars. I even played a S Prestige series and it was no better. IBANEZ BLOWS!

I bought the guitar around 97, not sure exactly. The color is Iron Pewter, a cool color. Made in Japan, its Ibanez....no need to further explain. It has 24 frets, Edge Tremelo,H-S-H pickup configuration, V8 V7 and S1, decent sounding pickups for being stock pickups. Neck is the Wizard neck, real thin, easy to play.Has locking nut, not sure what the tuning machines are, has five way selector switch. Body is basswood. There's really alot to play with on this guitar.

Sound : 10
The guitar suits my style well, which is heavy rock/metal/alternative with some classic oldies and classic punk for good measure.I play the guitar through a Fender Super 60 rackmount head, and a handbuilt speaker cab with two 12 inch Eminence speakers. I plug into first my Boss metalzone, then into a DOD 7 band equalizer, then i run into a Digitech RP7 then into a DOD flanger then into the amp.The guitar is extremely quiet. It has a full rich sound. and can be very bright at the same time. You can coax a variety of sounds from the guitar.Im sure all the effects I use help in that department too, but isnt that the point of effects??? I dont really have any gripes.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar was set up pretty well, the pickups were adjusted pretty good, but I had to tweak them anyways, to get the level of sound I wanted out of them. The guitar was/is in excellent condition. Nothing was loose or improperly adjusted or setup.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar could withstand live playing. It is extremely rugged, and would more than likely hurt someone before it got hurt. The finish is great, I have yet to put a scratch, nick, or dent in it. The strap buttons are pretty secure. It's a dependable guitar, but I wouldnt gig without a backup guitar. It takes forever to change a string with the Edge tremolo, which is just like a Floyd Rose, one string breaks, the whole thing goes out of tune. thats my only complaint.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never dealt with Ibanez before. I have my own guitar techie that I go to. Hes actually a Luthier. He takes good care of my guitars.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing guitar for about 9 years now, and this is my favorite guitar. I own three others, and am always lookng to buy more guitars. I currently own along with the Ibanez a Fender Heartfield Talon IV, a BC Rich Warlock, and a Washburn Acoustic. My Ibanez is my favorite, I do most of my playing with it. If it were stolen or lost, I would definitely buy another one. I would like to see it come with maybe some EMG"s or Seymour Duncans, but the stock pickups are pretty nice in and of themselves. The guitar is cool.

1999 Model. Made In Japan. 24 Frets. 1 vol, 1 tone, Ibanez V7, V8 andS1 pickups. 5 way selector. (Bridge Hum, Bridge split with middle, Middle, Neck split with Middle, Neck Humbucker. Maple neck with bubinga strip on back. Basswood body finished Grey Nickel. Sleek start style shape. Ibanez Edge temolo. (similar to a Floyd). Ibanez non-locking tuners. 25.5 inch scale. Rosewood board. Jumbo frets.

Sound : 8
I play prog rock, pop, blues, 80's metal, fusion and modern country mainly. It does all these better than any other guitar I've owned.(fenders, gibsons, kramers etc etc.) I play through mesa boogie and peavey amps. It is only noisy on the middle setting (single coil). It has a bright sound that cuts well. As I said it can do almost any sound that you use (for the styles I've mentioned). I would prefer less bright pickups with a little more fatness.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It wasn't bad. It needed a litle tweak to make it suit me (a little higher action). The only flaw is that the locking nut is fractionly off centre. If it cost more for the guitar I would be more concerned. It's a fraction of a millimetre. Otherwise, very good.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This is a very solid guitar. The hardware is wearing a little already (3 months old) but will definately last. The finish seems pretty durable. I Do gig without a backup. (Is this an American thing? All you guys surveys always ask this question. I've never used a backup ANYTHING on a gig. Who can afford it?).

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 19 years. Professionly for 16 years. Currently I also have an Epiphone Les Paul, a Peavey Classic 50-410 and a Mesa Boogie Quad Preamp. (Among other stuff). I would probably buy it again if stolen or maybe a Yamaha Pacifica or Carvin. I love the neck, it's great to play. I basically chose this guitar after I had narrowed it down to 3. It had to have 24 frets, floyd, 2 humbuckers and a single coil (and I loved the color). The ibanez had all the features I wanted. And it sounds like ME when I play it. It really suits the way I play. I f I had a choice I would have had different pickups in it. I do like the ones in it, but I get the feeling I could do a little better with Seymours or something.
