I know it is an RG570, but since I bought it second hand, I do not know its year. It is the standard thing: 3 pich-ups neck V7, middle : single coil, and bridge V8 ( V7 and V8 are the hum-buckers). Bridge is floyd rose tremolo I think. And it has 24 Frets on a very thin but solid neck ( with the nuts on the top to keep the strings in tune).

Sound : 10
I think it sounds great. I play heavy ( 80's & 90's) and some black metal. My first guitar was a fender Stratocaster, which is great for that eights stuff, but the single coils just can not provide the sound you want for heavy metal. Allso the neck on the strat was to thick to go fast and to short to reach the high notes. I am using a Fender Frontman R25 amp, but I am planning to buy a bigger amp for gig's. When I put the gain, bass, and treble on max, the medium on minimum and select my V8 humbucker, it comes pretty close to the sound I want( that of an F16 taking off with afterburner ;-) ), except for the low sustain. Especially on high notes, but I think that can be helped with a better amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Since I had it second hand, I do not know the factory set-up, but at the time when I got it it was OK. Just one scratch in the paint, but who cares. Everything is perfect, except the fitting of the tremolo bar. I can not remeber it being like that from the beginning, but it shakes in its fitting ( it is removable via a click-in, click-out system), but I think I will be able to fix that.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I never played a gig (yet), but if I would, this axe would be the (only) one I would take. It has never broken down or failed me in any way, very reliable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never contacted them

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 4 years, and the only other electric guitar I played is my strat, but the Ibanez kicks its ass when it comes to metal. The V8 sounds great, the action is nice and low on a thin neck, wich makes for high speed playing. I read some-where that it was no good for palm muting, but that is not true, I mute allmost constantly and fast, and on this guitar I can keep up with Manowar and Judas Priest when it comes to fast muting. I allso love the tremolo, you can bend it down till the strins hang lose, let it go, and the tune is right back ( good luck trying that with a strat). I can get some better pinch harmonics out of it too. oh yeah, and the long neck with the deep body cut-in gives easy acces to those high screaming notes, very handy for solos. And on the shallow side, I just love the way it looks: Black body, dark rown-black neck and no pick-up guard ( or what do you call that white plate strats have ??).

From Japan, probably made in '93 or '94. Same as all the other RG570's. Pup configration is quite fun.

Sound : 8
I just play w/ the original pups and it can get muddy quickly. Sustain is a problem. I play it through a Marshall Valvestate 100 stack with a 4x12 cab; the distortion w/ the Ibanez is great, but I attribute that to the amp. Don't try to play anything more complez than metal or 80's rock on this. If you don't wan't to use the tremolo, don't buy this guitar, the floating bridge will just drive you insane.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Action is high. Pups set up fine. Intonation was off (but, hey, I bought it used...)

Reliability/Durability : 6
Used live a few times, didn't have any problems.
I've had the g'tar fall off the strap before. You never know what problems you're gonna' have. Gig at your own risk...

Not bad. 24 Frets is fun, but the jumbo frets get in the way

For features this thing is great, 24 frets, which isn't a must have but it's definitly an advantage. The floyd rose tremelo is sweet, it's gives you a lotof room to dive and stuff. The wizard neck is easily my favorite part, it's so thin and fast and suits my small hands perfect. And the locking nuts at the top of the fret board keep you're guitar in-tune for days, and with the fine tuning on the tremelo brigdeyou don't need to unlock the nuts everytime you retune.

Sound : 9
For sound it kills my first guitar. The pickups will do the trick for ya but if you want outstanding sound then i suggestswitching, but there is no hurry with these ones. I ever you the single coil s1 though, it just tends to get in the way.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The factory set-up was really good, the action was a little to high for me but it wasn't to bad, the intontion was colse enough. The pickups were in good placement. I love my finish which is rootbeer metallic, it looks nothing like the website. It's a lot darker and almost looks black but when the light hit's it right it's amazing.

Reliability/Durability : 10
everything seems to be holding up for me, nothing breaking or anything.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never have to use it

Overall Rating : 10
Wicked deal, it fits mostly rock but can play amost any style, definitly a good buy.

I don't need to tell you about the ibanez's features you already know.

Sound : 4
Although the pickups are pretty hot the tone is still flat and airy, if your looking to by a guitar for metal try something else. I play 80's metal(Van Halen, early Ozzy, Dokken, etc.), Classic rock, blues and jazz and the RG570 wasn't really good for any of those styles. The highes are to shrill and the lows are to muddy. I'm not playing through crap amps either. I tried quite a bit to make the Ibanez sound good through my Marshall JCM2000 DSL100 and my Fender Hot Rod Deville 410 but nothing worked. Although this guitar was intended as a "shredder" guitar i'm better off shredding on my strat.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
The Gray Nickel paint job looked alright when i first bought it put for some reason the paint just doesnt want to stay on. The guitar is only six months old and i can already see wood in four differnet spots. IF lightly hit by anything the paint just comes off. There's only a one ply paint job really poor quality. The frets are pretty bad too. I got this guitar brand new right out of the box and even after i got everything set up by a pro there was still a lot of buzzing from certain frets so much so that on certain frets no pitch is produced. i know they want to make this guitar comfortable but c'mon. By the way the pots on the volume and tone were pretty scratchy too.

Reliability/Durability : 5
The only thing good on the RG570 are the strap buttons, nice and large. But is it reliable, no. I wouldn't practice at home without a backup. Tuning drifts after heavey trem use. You might as well have a strat bridge if you don't use floyd for some dives. The hardware seemed like the most reliable part. I'm worried about the neck.

Customer Support : No Opinion

My USA Fender cost the same as the Ibanez. I expected more from this guitar for $550 even though it was made in japan. I sold this guitar just because i couldn't look at it anymore. Way over priced. Whatever you do don't by the RG570 or any Ibanez for that matter, even the $1700 Ibanez guitars suck, Buy a Kramer or a Jackson. Never in my life will i ever buy an Ibanez again. If it was stollen i'd feel sorry for the guy that stole it. Ibanez is the Martin of electric guitars all it is, is the name. The quality of the guitars is very bad. If you can find a USA Ibanez from the 80's get that, those are a lot better than these pieces of crap.

Made in 1998 (I think), purchased new in 1999, Grey Newton finish. Basswood body, 24 frets, maple fretboard. Hum-Sing-Hum configuration, with a Floyd-Rose Edge tremelo. Volume and Tone control, and a five-way selector switch. Gotoh tuners, far as I know. 25.5 inch scale. All been covered before...

Oh yeah, it came with an Ibanez hard-case, a Crate GRX20 practice amp, cheap strap and a cable. Part of the package I negotiated with the clerk. Happened to be a good friend, so I wound up paying less for the whole package than the actual list-price of the guitar. So the price above is what the guitar itself cost.

Sound : 10
I love this guitar! It's my first (and so far, only) guitar, had it for three years, been playing for 3 1/2. I'm a metal freak, it's all I play, pretty much. If it's remotely metal, I'll probably like it. Fear Factory, Korn, Metallica, System Of A Down, mainly newer stuff, but I love the older stuff as well. Play through a POD Pro, through a 50 watt RMS power amp. This guitar sounds awesome! I recently put in a Duncan Distortion in the bridge, and very heavy strings. While I liked the sound before, the bridge pickup was a bit too trebly for my liking. After the pickup change, perfect sound, heavy as all hell.
I can get any kinds of sound, from U2 to death metal. I've found it's very versatile.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This guitar was set-up by the store, so when I took it home, it was great. After about two years, I had put on heavier strings, tuned down to C. Still, no problems, intonation was fine, action was still low as all hell. Recently, I went to a guitar tech, and put on much heavier strings, with a .60 on the bottom. Tuned down to B-standard.
Still no problems at all with the intonation, action. Still great.
The only thing that bugs me is the tremelo, I know it's not its fault, but I constantly change my tunings to drop-A, and as its a floating bridge, this throws the entire tuning out. I had it blocked, and while I do miss the trem when soloing, it's worth it. Gives a bit more sustain, as well. The finish isn't brilliant either, nice colour, but it chips easily. I wouldn't knock it too hard.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Except for the finish, which chips easily, this guitar can withstand ANYTHING. I've heard others have problems, but seriously, I don't think anything can break it. I've been gigging for a year now, and I'm active on stage, and this guitar has survived much abuse, virtually unscathed. Except for the finish. The strap buttons are fine, but I would buy strap locks as well, be on the safe side. I've had no problems, at all. I don't have another guitar, because I've never felt like I need another one! I do gig without a back-up, every weekend.

Customer Support : 10
I've only dealt with them once, just a question about one of their pedals, and they got back to me the next morning. No problems there.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar is my pride and joy. It's my only guitar, because I've never seen the point in buying another one if this one does everything I want it to, and more. It will never break, and sounds fantastic. I play through a POD Pro, with a 50 watt RMS power amp (made about 20 years ago, but f--k, it sounds good!), and two no-name speakers (sounds great). If it was stolen or lost, I would buy another in a heartbeat. If you want a great guitar that won't cost you the earth, get this!

Features : 9
My beauty was made in 98,99 somewhere around there. Typical 570 set up, h/s/h, single vol, single tone and a 5 position pick-up switch.
I have the stock neck and center pick-ups, but I upgraded to a duncan distortion in the bridge position to tighten her up a little. She has the rose wood, ultra thin, ultra fast 24 fret Wizard neck and a Floyd Rose razor locking trem., the paint is a flat grey/black with blackened chrome hardware.

Sound : 8
I play metal, not with Godsmacks simplicity nor with Jason Beckers complexity, however I do like my riffs heavy and crisp, the stock bridge pick-up just didnt do it for me. As I wrote before, I replaced the stock V8 pickup with a Duncan distortion, it takes up the slack of the V8, though it is passive, it is aggressive. Aside from that everything else was exceptional. The guitar itself is very light yet due to the basswood construction it still maintains a good thick resonance. The neck is smooth and with the rose wood fret board, once again the heavy nature is maintained. However even though my use of the other pickups is limited I do play a considerable amount of clean stuff and I can say that for what these attributs are to a heavy tone, they are directly proportional to a full and beautiful clean tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action was tremendous and to say it was the factories doing I would be cheating the shop I bought it from. They are notorious for making every guitar for sale perfect, or at least perfect for the style of play the guitar was intended. The playability is out standing as far as the speed of the neck of course it should be, considering the neck is one of the, if not the thinnist necks manufactured, the frets are like 3/32 and the action is damn near the same. I mean this thing is ideal for running scales as well as just chunking along on the E

Reliability/Durability : 9
My beauty is tough, and I'll tell you what, I also have two RG520's and an old 7/8 body RX that I play. Ibanez for me has made indestructable works of art. But beware if you thrash or strum alot, because your in store for some wear on the face of the guitar, I've worn threw to the wood on three of my guitars. That doesn't bother me because they still sound good, on the same token the beautiful blacked chrome that is on my humbucker rings is all worn off ,but like I said I thrash so you may not have that problem, another problem I noticed was excessive corrosion on the bridge and nut
but I think thats due to my profuse sweating when I play, however If you happen to run across the same problem, WD-40 after every gig seems to help the problem and it cant hurt especially if you use the trem. alot or if you do alot of palm muting. I have yet to replace the volume or tone knob and my pick-up switch does not crack when switching
Aside for the asthetic problems this guitar is a beast

Customer Support : 9
All of the customer support I've dealt with was online and every thing I needed was easy to get. the web site is WWW.Ibanez.com
they have cool stuff to download and to get schematics you pay nothing. I do all my own repairs so I don't deal with the warranty stuff to much but as far as parts go Ibanez puts the same electronics in all of their guitars the only real difference is in the pick-ups and depending on the set up, the type of pick-up switch , or way that the pick-up switch is hooked up. with these common denominators it is obvious that parts are not hard to come by.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for 8 years and for those 8 years I have played primarily Ibanez. The price for the quality is right. The playability is impeccable in my eyes. And the durability is good. What else could you want in a guitar?
I have done some playability comparisons:
Jackson: seems like you have to be really double jointed or something to be able to play more than mary had a little lamb beyond the 12th fret the body where the neck bolts on just gets in the damn way and forces your hand into an unnatural and uncomfortable playing position how randy did it I'll never know.
Gibson: A total 180 in my eyes, action is high the neck is like an inch thick though they are the highest caliber of guitar you can buy (or so they say) you would have to retrain your self how to play if you developed your self on a neck like the wizard I mean how the hell could somebody scream on a neck like that, blues and 70's rock I can understand mess was bliss in solos but what kind of crack is zakk wild
smokin and where can I get some.
In closure I say take time in choosing a guitar, play them you'll know when it feels right.

2001 model, made in Japan. 24 jumbo frets. 1 vol knob, 1 tone knob, H/S/H configuration (V7/S1/V8 respectively), grey nickel finish, Floyd Rose Edge locking trem w/ locking tuners, THIN neck

Sound : 8
I play it through a Marshall Valvestate 232 combo most of the time, and it sounds pretty good. Only a couple complaints: First is the stock pickups. They're better than average but they are definately not worth writing home about. They shred decently and dont sound that bad but they come off as bland and muddy. Second, the Floyd Rose trem eats up tone and sustain like you wouldnt believe. Because I dont use the trem a hell of a lot, I made the decision to stick a bridge block into the guitar to keep that thing from moving anywhere. That helped the tone and sustain a lot, and its totally worth it if you dont use thhe trem very much. You can always take it out.

Something to keep in mind if you go to replace the pickups (because you most likely will want to): While EMG's and Invaders and stuff like that sound great for high output, massive distortion and crunch in this guitar, you'll be totally limited to that kind of sound if you put those in. Instead, I'd recommend something with more tone and less pure noise. I stuck a DS Jeff Beck in the bridge position and this thing just sounds great now. I can play anything i want except for country, but who plays that anyways :P

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar had been in the store for a while and Im pretty sure they set it up. It was alright I guess, but I had it set up again after I bought it anyways just because im anal like that :)

The finish is gorgeous, the black hardware looks really sweet against hte grey nickel body. I havent had any accidents with this guitar yet so I cant really say how well it holds up to abuse, but if you abuse any guitar its going to bust.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Ive used this guitar a few times live and had no problems. The bridge block on the Floyd Rose greatly reduces the risk of strings snapping on stage, which is probably this guitar's biggest single flaw. With the block in, I would most definately gig without a backup if I had to, although I never feel quite right about gigging with a backup no matter what guitar im using.

The finish seems to be pretty good, its been scratched a few times by some stuff around the house but it doesnt have a mark yet. Strap buttons are big and unless you have a really old worn out crummy strap, its not going anywhere. Very reliable overall.

Customer Support : 10
Never dealt with them. I wanna give the guys at Gear Music in Oakville, Ontario credit though, they do a great job with anything you bring to them. 10 for them.

Overall Rating : 9
I've only been playing for a couple years but in that time I've played a lot of guitars and developed a pretty solid preference as to how a guitar should play. This one is absolutely perfect for me. Its got the looks and the sound to go with the type of music I play, which is mostly punk, hard and classic rock, and a little blues. I wish I'd known more about the Floyd Rose system before I bought it, but i doubt it would have altered my selection. Everything else about this guitar rocks too hard.

I really wish the stock pickups were a bit better. I would not mind paying a bit more money for this gitar to get something nice like DiMarzios or JB's in it off the shelf but what can ya do.

I play Punk/Hardcore/Metal (Propagandhi, ispy, Swallowing Shit, Slayer, NOFX) and this guitar TEARS SHIT UP. It does everything from jazz/country (don't ask) to extreme death metal. It is the most versatile guitar i have ever played or heard. Rich/Full high output sound from STOCK P/Us. I replaced the bridge humbucker with a Dimarzio Tone Zone and now my Steve Vai (yes i said Steve Vai) solos sound fucking great.
