I bought this guitar used in 1995, and used it exclusively since. The guy who owned it before me was pretty much the local guitar tech, so I was surprised to find he hadn't changed the pickups. But he did raise them a little, lowered the action considerably, and adjusted the intonation. So I didn't have to deal with any of the out-of-box adjustments that you normally have to make. Floyd Rose II patented bridge back then was stock, Wizard 19mm neck, (by the way, this neck is FLAT. If you want that U-shaped neck to wrap your hands around, this guitar isn't for you.)and everything else is pretty much the same as all the other reviews. Made in Japan.

Sound : 9
Alright, let me start by saying this guitar isn't intended to emulate a Strat, Les Paul, or any other type of guitar. It's purely Ibanez. There is definitely a distinct "Ibanez sound", and this guitar has it. The bridge V8 pickup is incredible. No, it's not an EMG, and if you want that sound BUY AN EMG. but it definitely has it's own flavor, and I love the thing. It's extremely bright sounding and a little twangy clean, (which offers it's own possibilites-picture the intro to "Tender Surrender" by Vai)but it's real strength is relatively high distortion and a shredding style. It's not noisy at all, and getting sustained pic harmonics is a little too easy sometimes. I really can't say enough about the pickup's dynamic quality, it is very sensitive to The physical amount of attack you put on the strings. It surprisingly good for pedaltone-type riffs like Kill 'Em All stuff, but if you're looking for low end explosions, get off the bridge pickup. The neck pickups are pretty bland, very muddy and almost unplayable with a lot of gain. I'd be prepared to change them immediately if you're planning on buying this guitar. Same goes for the single coil. It's a little noisy, and it doesn't make up for the noise with tone. Once those pickups are changed with whatever suits your fancy, you've got a guitar that you can make some incredible sound with. Keep in mind, this IS NOT A STRAT. If you want fat tone and a dreamy, creamy clean romp in the musical clouds, buy another guitar. But if you want that unique Ibanez sound, along with an utterly screaming high gain earbleed, as the Ibanez afficianados out there will know what I'm talking about, this guitar is ideal.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Let me say to those of you that complain about the Floyd Rose style bridge: take a friend's home for a few days and play with it before you buy one! You have to treat them totally differently than other bridges. Make sure to tune up to pitch (if it's high, tune down and then up to pitch)and it'll stay in tune longer. Plus, change one string at a time, starting with the low E string. And you'll need to adjust it a few times after you change strings to get it to stay tuned. After that, you have to practically murder the thing to get it more than 15 cents out of tune. That's the way every Rose is, so don't buy one if you don't want to deal with that. I've never had any problems with the dropped D tuning staying in tune, and once you're proficient with an allen wrench and the fine tuners, it's easy as pie.
Like I said, I didn't have to fix any factory crap, and that's just what it is. ANY guitar you buy you should be fixing everything to your specs anyway. There is no one-size-fits-all for action and pickups. The pickup selector has always been testy, it gives a lot of static when changing to the bridge pickup.

Reliability/Durability : 8
The main problem is with the plug-in for the cord. There is a locking washer inside that doesn't lock too well, and the thing keeps getting loose and spinning around until the ground wire comes unsautered. I've had to fix this several times, but I think a different washer might help. There is a seperate plate on the back that is screwed on that allows access to just that part, so it's easy to work on. And I have had the problem of the strap coming off the button that I've seen some other guys having. Do not gig without a backup, as it does take a couple of minutes to change strings, even having practiced a lot. This is true with any Floyd Rose type bridge. That being said, I've abused this guitar for 8 years, and it's still going strong.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never been in touch with Ibanez, but if they listen to their customers the same way they listen to the artists about making their signature guitars, it'd be grand. Ive heard elsewhere that this isn't the case, though.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for about ten years, and I've played this guitar through everything imaginable. If somebody stole this guitar I really would be crushed. It's easy to replace, but when you've used something for so long and loved it so much, it's grounds for justifiable homicide. Don't steal guitars! Overall, I'd say this guitar will give you incredible sound for your buck, but it's not the end-all guitar. You'll need other guitars for other sounds, but this guitar's playability and durability, you'll wish it was the only one you had to buy.

If you're reading this you know the features. There are many of them. The jumbo frets are great, nice thin neck, accessible upper frets....It has a floating bridge, aftre years of using the tremolo i decided to block the bridge up on both sides. This makes it solid, so you can use drop D etc without the other strings going out of tune. Once you understand how the bridge functions (just take a close look0 it's simple to adjust and setup etc.

Sound : 6
very hot, more mids and trebble like than bassy. Which I think is good because if you're using a good tube amp you can really alter the sound. I play a lot of old school metal....some rock. I use very little gain on a peavey ultra plus stack-on the crunch channel about 2.5 on the gain. The guitar sounds great when you can drive an amps crunch channel volume wise & just lower the master volume. This will break up the sound nicely & give very tight attck etc. I did put EMG's in 81 & 85, but took them out after 6 months - they lack character! I currently have the stocks in, they sound good, but I would like a little more clarity. Seymour Duncan's I think would be ideal, I've played them in another guitar, very clear, tight - both for distortion and clean. As I said, lay of the gain and let the 'hot' pickups do the work- you'd be surprized how well the sound. Even for metallica like material

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I've set this guitar up so many ways, the factory set-up's action was too low! Ilike it a littler higher otherwise your fingers slip off during leads....it also cam the 42-9's I know use 60-13's tuned down 1/2 step. this improves sound, heavey strings give a tighter sound-meaning better attack. Thsi guitar is very comfortable to hold. T must say it is an excellent guitar. I've owned it 10 years - this one held up better than any, it got better with age.

Reliability/Durability : 10
have to say 10. Mine has worn, but nothing could hold up like this guitar. The frets have a few more years in em, the bridge is no longer a black chrome due to my hand rubbing on it. The back of the neck is now 'unfinished' from my hand - feels awesome now! Few more years that area where your right arm rubs when picking will be worn to the wood. But that's all a bonus the way I see it. Very durable though, it hase been dropped a few times, with no noticable marks

Playing 10 years. I own several tube amps including Fender twin, peavey ultra.....some marshall gear. I'd hate to see this particular guitar stolen. I truly believe this one is the 570's of 570's. I have a Les Paul, Tele, Strat, but this is the go to guitar for everything that doesn't require that 'strat' sound. I tell people "ya, gibson's look great, I'd love them if only they played like my Ibanez......" To talk value, you can get these for about a 1000 canadian, they're worth their weight in gold!

Cant remember the year it was made, probly 2000 or 1999. Made in Japan and if people didnt know it should have it written on the neck at the top. Im sure everyone knows the rest of the features. I put some EMGs to replace the v7 s1 and v8, because i felt that they lacked tone just a little bit, yet i never complained about them. Didnt get a case with it, but bought a 2nd hand one. You really dont need to spend 60 on a case brand new, whats the difference unless its cracked.
With the one volume and tone - depending on what your playing you might be limited.
BITCH = The lock in tremolo when you want to tune down then up again, because when you tune down you have to change the action then once again when you tune back up. Thats why its a good idea to have two.

Sound : 8
This one is more a question on how you set up your amp and pedals and so on. But i think it covers all music styles great, but obviously with two humbuckers its more suited to distorted music. And thats why i chose it. But even better is that it comes with the single coil, otherwise you probly couldnt get any clean sound from it. To me this would have to be one of the most versatile guitars made, along with the rest of the ibanez products. The pickups are not noisy at all which is always a bonus, but what you should expect from a guitar within this price range. What i like about the sound is that it suitas all distortions from rock to metal or anything, as soon as you have distortion it will sound good.
In my band we play mostly rock and metal, so i really dont rely on the best clean sound but like i said before all this info depends on the guitar and pickups used. But i being easy to play and looking good, if you dont like the sounds that the stock pickups create just fit new ones in.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Set up was pretty good like every one else it has low action. But thats because lots of people arnt really good, so they rely on the low action to play better. But if thats what it takes, no one should stop them. anyways. Everything was fine when i got it, although over time because of the position of the input jack the wiring in there can get screwed, so always check what type of seat you might sit on if your sitting.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Word of advise: All damages are made by people not the guitar.
Yeah, theyre pretty reliable, although dont snap a string, otherwise have a backup. Because when you get lock in tremolos its a bitch. But thats a sacrafice i had to make when buying anew guitar. The paint has chipped off a bit, but dont balme that on the guitar. On mine the strap buttons are always loose, i must have sanded the grain in the wood.

Customer Support : 10
Never dealt with them, until recently when i screwed the input jack up. People usually have more problems with there amps. Valve amps im talking about. Transistors never usually break. I have no idea about the warranty. I never usually care about this stuff until the time comes when you need it.
So there you go, i give it a 10 for no reason.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing for i cant remember, because of how long ive been playing and how long ive been playing seriously. If this guitar was stolen, i wouldnt have any idea of what to buy next, maybe an LP or another RG or JEM. WHat i love about this guitar is its playability and its versatility. Favourite feature is the neck although at time you must hate it. Its great because you can finely tune your guitar as close as the note as possible. I compared it to afew other guitars around the same price range, i thought they were all good, dunt know why this one was the one i chose, maybe because ive always been a fan of ibanez and the rg series. I wish it have two tone controls and more colour variations, in the range.
Anything else id like to share is, im bored so im gonna go look at myself.

Ok so here is my opinion
Specs like the others (24 jumbo frets, edge tremolo, H/S/H pickups ..)
I bought it new at Broc'n'roll, a guitar shop in Nimes (France). The model is recent, something between 2000 and 2002. But now 2003 since this model is not sold anymore.
Finish is just splendid, a dark metallic blue colour.
The only thing I don't like about the Ibanez RG series is that you can not control the tone and volume of each pickup separately..

Sound : 8
I have a little Marshall VS-30R and it just sounds great ! I know a lot of people would prefer EMG or Di Marzio pickups, but I just don't have the use for it right now, since I only play home and I love the sound of it. By the way the IBZ V7, V8 and S1 (on this guitar) are produced by Di Marzio. They are excellent pickups, but as people said it, they lack a bit of personality. I love it when I put the selector on positions 2 and 4 to have a bluesy sound, and then put it to 1 or 5 to get a really interesting distorted sound (I honestly prefer the V7, it has more trebles, but the V8 is perfect for punk ..)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Don't know the factory set up, since the guy set this guitar in front of me. I asked him to lower the action as far as possible, even if there would be some buzz. So it's perfect, a little buzz on the E (low) string but that's not a problem when playing through an amp, and the action is REALLY low.
Pickups are a bit high for me, I sometimes hit then with the pick. But I'll get used to it.

Anyway the finish is great.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Seems solid, hard to break.
Just one remark, I would have preferred a jack input on the front of the guitar because they stay better in position like that. I sometimes lose my cable ... (but maybe that's my cable which is wrong)

I love my guitar :)
I hesitated between buying the new line RG-1570 Prestige (which was 100 euros cheaper) and the RG-570 but I got this one because the bridge is much better (Edge Tremolo under Floyd Rose patent) than the new one which is NOT under Floyd Rose license. I've tried both of them, and the old Edge (FR) has a way better sustain.
By the way, this is my first FR guitar, and I understand why people don't like it. It's hard to tune, and changing strings is .. tricky.
But I just love the vibrato arm, you can dive bomb as hell with it ! And if the tremolo system is well set-up you will never have to tune your guitar again (which is wrong, you'll always have to tune it again because the temperature changes and strings dilate..)

If I had to buy it again, I would !

Made in year 2000 in Japan. 24 jumbo frets, solid top, beautiful yellow finish. H/S/H pickup configuration with 1 volume, 1 tone, and a 5-way switch that works great (all black hardware). The pickups are Ibanez V7, S1, & V8s, and definitely fit the bill for this guitar. Beautiful solid maple neck w/ slight gorgeous flame to it, and brilliant body finish. For those of you familiar with Ibanez, it's the typical RG body, with a locking Floyd Rose Tremolo w/locking nut. Non-locking black Gotoh tuners, very solid & stable.

Sound : 10
I play mostly blues, mid-to-hard rock, 70's rock & funk, 80's classical rock, and dabble in contemporary & classic jazz, especially the more complex, delicate arrangements. I am only 15, but please do not discredit my opinion based upon my age. I assure you, I have spent hours and hours on my guitars and in research, gaining enough knowledge about the instrument to suffice your doubts of a 15-year old rising to the "adult standard". Sorry about that, now back to the review. This guitar is perfectly suited to my needs in jazz, blues, & rock. I have also experimented with metal, country, and gospel, and this guitar rises to the occasion. I use this through a Marshall Mini-stack and a Line 6 Spider 1x12. It can blast on power chords, then tone down for articulate augmented jazz complexities, then still run through the most bare-knuckled rock arpeggios. I'm sorry to take part in repitition, but I must give the guitar another 10.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I bought this used, but the previous owner had a professional luthier personally set it up for an extremely-low action and feel. This perfectly compliments the pickups, which aids in excellent sound on finger-tapping. I have inspected this guitar on several occasions, and have repeatedly deemed it as extremely well built, and an amazing value for the price. All the knobs & switches are silent, as are the pickups. A very slight hum could be heard on the single-coil setting, but that is normal. Excellent!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I haven't gigged it yet, but I'm sure it will hold up well. The hardware is 2 years old, and hasn't even begun to wither. The finish is thick, but not too thick, and still maintains a brilliant shine. The strap buttons are a bit large, but that's a good thing. I definitely have no qualms about gigging it without a backup. It's extremely dependable.

I have been playing almost a year & 6 months, and own 4 other guitars (Epiphone Les Paul, Fender Standard Strat, '79 Ovation Balladeer, sweet'84 Alvarez dreadnought). I investigated many other guitars before deciding to invest my hard-earned cash into the Ibanez, including a G&L Comanche, Epiphone Elite Les Paul Standard Plus, Fender American Deluxe Strat, among others. I am glad I bought this one, because it is easily one of the greatest-playing guitars I have ever picked up and its versatility is unmatched. If it was stolen, I would hunt down the person who stole it, and personally beat them within an inch of their lives. I will never sell or get rid of this guitar. It's my favorite!

1998, Japan I believe. Solid black: beautiful. volume, tone, 3 pikups with a fender like 5 way controller. I've sinse put in dimarzio tone zones but almost wish I hadn't. Floyd Rose locking nut trem system...which is alright but makes tuning/string changing twice as tedious!!! Very thin playable neck...probably this guitars best feature. Only complaint: no independant volume controls (no tom morello ish noises)!?

Sound : 8
With my pickups this guitar has a wonderfull thick sound. It is very versatile but isn't good enough to cover up for A- crappy amps, or B- crappy players (unfortunately). The 570 is really a hard rock guitar...it does clean but feels, looks, and SOUNDS most at home with a Mesa Boogie like liquid crunch tone. I play a variety of stuff- funky blues, classic rock, prog, folk...but like I say this guitar is at home with metallica. I don't often use the single coil as it creates a serious buzz and is relatively quieter than the humbucking hickups. I've played it through a variety of amps: fender twin black faces, fender deluxe combos, marshall combos and tube stacks, peavy etc. etc. etc. and it sounds best with a tube amp (but don't they all. Wahs and most line 6 stuff also adds to this guitars beauty.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
nice action...although I prefer it higher than most.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've taken this on trans atlantic airplane flight dropped it onto hard wood flooring and rammed it's headstock into most hard surfaces commonly found in a basement and it never EVEN went out of tune.

Overall Rating : 8
If it were stolen/lost I wouldn't replace it with another...mostly because a good amp is more important than a good guitar at the end of the day...and I'd like something that I can do alternate tunings on.
HOWEVER, If I had limitless funds then YES by all means I'd buy another 570.

BOTTOM LINE: dependable, fast playing guitar for hard rockers!

Made in Japan, 24 frets, lo-pro trem. I don't know what year it's made but definitely pre-2003. Nickel-gray finish, looks a lot nicer in real life than in pictures.
Everything have been said so I won't go on about it.
It came with some manuals and a set of allen keys. They are obviously useful but the allen keys were sort of disgusting. For some reason they're reallt sticky so I have to full wipe them, but no big deal.
The whammy bar took me awhile to push in (I'm just too weak and I was scared I'd break it.) but it works fine after that.
Including a good soft case would be good.

Sound : 10
I play jazz, rock and some shredding stuff. I use it with marshall or peavey practice amps. I've only tested it with the peavey since I only got it a few days ago. It sounded good. I've heard people saying Ibanez guitar sound really "electric" or unnatural. I have to disagree with that. It sounded really nice and natural.
Even though there's only one tone knob on it while my les paul has two, it is versatile. Pickup switching is quiet, unlike my old old peavey guitar.
Humbuckers are very quiet. I tend to use them more than teh single coil pickup anyway.
It sounds really fat with distortion and I can get some really nice clean sound with it even when I was playing with a little solid-state amp.
Nothing I don't like about it so far.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I got it off the internet (my first time.) and I'm really surprised and relief that it was fine when it arrived. Finish was perfect, even better than my Gibson Les paul gothic.
It was really really out of tune when it arrived, which is not surprising but since it is my first guitar with a locking trem, it took me awhile to get everything straight.
Action was nice and low.
You can see how nice the wood is on the neck. The finish is what really surprises me. I've played and seen the same model in differnet colour but I have not see a real thing that is in nickel-gray. I was expecting some sort of dull gray colour, but it turns out it's kind of sparkly. Somewhere between gray and reflective mirror finish, which is cool coz it looks awesome without fingerprints and does not get scratched as easily.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It will definitely withstand live playing and teh hardware looks solid. I think the finish will last. It looks like one of those finish that doesn't get scratched easier but the paint will just chip off. (sorry I don't know about paints and finishes at all.)
Strap buttons are a lot better and bigger than those found on les pauls. I'll probably put a homemade strap lock on though since my strap is a bit worn.
I can depend on it but I won't gig with it with no backup especially since I'm a newbie to floyd rose.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall, it's an awesome guitar for people like me who can't avoid facny models like the Jem whatsoever. I've been playing for almost 4 years. I owned a Gibson Les Paul gothic, an electric acoustic guitar and used to own a Peavey beginner strat.
As I said I only had it for a very short time but so far it's great.
If it were stolen or lost, I'd try to find it again. (it's a close out deal.)
I wish it came with a padded soft case.
I used to dislike Ibanez guitars because the necks are too thin. I preferred chunky LP style neck but somehow I started liking thin necks. That's one of teh reason why I chose this guitar.
I'm hoping it will stay in tune okay. Floyd rose is a bit annoying but I think I'll get used to it.
Also, this guitar is relatively light (may be I'm just used to the les paul.) which is a very good thing for me.
I compared it with other RGs and decided that it's much better for me to get a closeout pre 2003 higher end rg instead of low end 2003 rgs like the rg350 dx. I believed i have made the right choice.
I also tried a few Cort X series guitars but the necks were too chunky even though the trems were nice.
I'm enjoying the extra features this guitar has that the lesp paul doesntt- whammy bar, 3 pick ups and 24 frets.
Cheers.

I've had this bad boy for about a month and must say that I am a big fan of ibanez having owned about 6 over the last 25 years (has it really been that long?) Anyway I got the Rootbeer metallic finish which looks cool. Nice closout price for brand new guitar online. Made in Japan, I don't know what that's about because I heard that the new ones were Korean. The 2003 models are being made in japan under the prestige series so I don't know if maybe they stared the production early. Whatever, It's made in Japan and seems well built.
can get a variety of sounds but it really wants to Rock hard dude.

Sound : 9
I play everything from the Beatles to Motorhead, this is more for Mototrhead. I use it with an Anniversary edition marshall JCM 800 50 watt w/ 412cabinet. It also sounds good with my liittle Marshall lead 12.
Sounds most excellent for metal, OK for blues.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Guitar is built nice but I took it to a luthier for a proper setup. I must say that I am disappointed with the much vaunted Edge bridge which was the reason I bought this guitar online without playing it in the first place. I don't really bash it and it doesn't stay in tune any better than my Roadstars. The action is a little too low and I will ahve to get it adjusted again as my pick makes contact with the pickups when I am in a frenzy.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Don't use it without a backup or any axe with a locking system for that matter because string changes can be times consuming. Besides you have to cut off the ball end on this baby.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Who knows about customer support never tried it.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing over 25 years and currently have two other ibanez roadstars and a Takamine acoustic and an Alvarez twelve string. The one thing I should have checked out first was the tremolo which seems overrated. Check out the tremolo on the new RG's from Korea it is a new type of Edge.
If it was stolen or lost I'ld probably get a different model with a tremolo that actually can take a beating.
I love the way it sounds and looks and the neck is sweet. The action is too low and the tremolo is overrated.
However for 425 with a hardcase you really can't beat the value. I will probably ship the guitar to Jem for a set up next time, if they can't get that trem to sing nobody can.

ok here is where i have to bash ibanez... these guitars are built very well (japanese) but the 2 screws on the back of the neck are where the major problem is... myself and a couple other musicians have had this problem so im not alone... i dropped the guitar one time and there are 2 LARGE cracks starting from the screws and going arround almost to the fret board... i have to give it a 5 for reliability... do not count on this one as ur only ax for live shows

Overall, it has alot to offer, but I hate the bridge. Its fine if you stick to one tuning the whole time but switching tuning is a pain. I do like he super thin neck.

Sound : 8
Will fit pretty much any style of music, yet it doesn't do any certain style great. Neck pickup is nice and warm, but the bridge pickup could be hotter. I never use the middle pickup. It does give some unwanted feedback/noise, but ill survive.

I love the super low action, even more when there is no fret buzz. The neck couldnt be better. The body has been punished the past 2 years but there is only one chip in it.

Sounds good for metal, punk, rock, or anything with distortion. Once I switched to clean (on any amp or effect) the sound is too lound and gives too much bass. IM probley going to change the pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The whole reason I bought this guitar was because I hear everyone say that its realy fast and comfortable. I think my begginer Ibanez feels a little better, once I got used to it, it was pretty cool, you can bend notes really far and easy tho.

Reliability/Durability : 9
My first Ibanez, the strap holder falls off the guitar. I havent tried this out tho. The paint seems fine.

Customer Support : 10
Warranty is forever, pretty cool i guess

Overall Rating : 9
I like it alot. I think it feels a lot better than Gibsons and Fenders and everything. Has everything and sounds good with distortion, just need to change my presets on my amp and effects for clean.

2002, Japan made. Rest of the specs are already posted here.

I had an Ibanez (Corean) JS100 but I quickly got rid of it and bought this instead. This one is not as sexy, but by far this axe is much accurate build.

The materials are of excellent quality for the money.

My only complain is about the E string because it is too close to the end of the frets and drops off when i press to hard. (Check as well the lower E string also, if you intend to buy this guitar)

Sound : 8
I play most Heavy Metal, and this guitar is definitely made for it. I am using a Digitech RP300 effects, and a Fender Deluxe 90 amp. The overall sound I get is really good. The hardware is not noisy at all.

Consider seriously the replace of the V7, S1 and V8 pick ups. The stock pick ups lack of personality, but if you throw in a pair of high quality pick ups, you'll get a really excellent quality guitar for the money.

After reseraching on the subject I installed Dimarzio PAF PRO on the neck, and Dimarzio Evolution Bridge. This is a killer combination.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The guitar factory setup was terrible, a los of buzz mostly. But after spending bucks on luthiers I decided to set it up myself.

The finish is very good, anyway, you should examine it carefully specially on the E strings detail I mentioned above.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I use this guitar as my main one, I trust this for live playing, but I always have a back up. Restringing and tuning takes a lot, but once you are done, it stays in pitch.
One thing you must consider in order to achieve a long durability is to store it on a hard case, and be warned that only Ibanez hard cases will accomplish that, because of the special bend on the neck of this guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used it.

Overall Rating : 9
I ve been playing for 15 yrs already, and this is my second electric guitar. I was looking for a IBANEZ RG770 but these beautys are not made any more by Ibanez, as they were as good as the best Jems. If you see one, do not heasitate.

I think you can not go wrong if you buy this guitar and replace the pick ups, my only advice is that you look carefully at every detail before taking it to home.

If It were stolen or lost, I would definitely buy it again.

1987 built in Japan. Thin, 24 jumbo fret Wizzard neck (rosewood f-board on maple). Ibanez's own H/S/H pu config. Floyd Rose licensed Edge locking tremolo and nut. Gotoh tuners. 5 way selector switch. Basswood body in the Strat style, etc.,etc.etc.

Sound : 7
This guitar tries to give you the sound of a LP and a Strat in one axe. While it doesn't deliver either exactly, it does give you a wide variety of electric/metal sounds. The bridge pu gives a good bit of distortion and works well for the darker, heavy stuff. The middle, single coil pu is powerful and fairly clean, provided it isn't overdriven. The neck pu was a dissappointment to me- very thin and whimpy. I replaced it w/ a Bill Lawrence L-500, but I'm still not happy (it's too low of an output). I run this thru a Peavey Backstage Plus and a Line 6 MM3. You won't get any kind of an acoustic sound at all, which is OK if you don't want it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Got this used. Finish is in remarkable shape when you consider it's age. It does have the neck pocket crack in the finish that is pretty common, but other than that it looks almost brand new. I needed to adj. the pu height when I got it- who knows whose fault that was.

Reliability/Durability : 8
The black trem and tuners have held up great, but the strings are a major undertaking to change out. NEVER RELY on this one axe when playing live. Bust a string and your hosed!! The locking trem does stay in tune, no matter how hard I push + pull the whammy. A big plus!! I replaced the strap buttons w/Schaller strap locks, just 'cause I felt like it. The orig. buttons are pretty large- making a quick change difficult.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know-never used.

Overall Rating : 7
This is not the guitar for you if you're a beginner or unfamiliar with the Floyd Rose locking tremolo system. It will frustrate the
$#@* out of you when you change out strings or replace a broken one.

Being primarily a rhythm player, the positioning of the volume control is a big problem for me. I'm constantly hitting it and turning the sound down. I also seem to always want to rest my heel on the bridge (too many years playing acoustics only), which actives the tremolo unintentionally.

On the positive side: the neck is very fast and easy to play. You can jam for hours on end w/o tiring. The trem stays in tune 99.9% of the time, provided you pre-stretch your string when you first put them on. The hardware on this Ib is pretty indestructable, and still looks great after 16 years. The 3 factory pickups give you a wide variety of sound possibilities, more so than a Strat or LP; but just not up to the level. This makes sense given the difference in price between them and the 570.

The resale value of these guitars SUCK. While they list for like $800, and sell for the $600's, you can pick them up used, in excellent condition, for only $200-300 (check eBay to see). I don't understand this, given that they are extremely versital and built to last (at least the older Japanese ones). The Korean models are supposed to be of a lesser quality, at least that's what I've heard.

Bottom Line - If you want an inexpensive, reliable, heavy metal/hard rock axe that can approximate the sound of a LP AND a Strat in one, and you don't mind spending significant time changing strings, then by all means buy a used, not new, RG 570. If not, then look somewhere else, especially if this will be your only axe.

This guitar is made for Rock/Hard Rock sounds, but it is suitable for any sound if you get the guitar-amp-effects settings right. I use a Peavey 35W amp, a zoom 505 effect and BOSS OS2 dist/overdrive pedal.
It's noisy only when you push the volume up using the mid S1 pickup.Avoid using it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The quility of the instrument is extremely high especially for the money you pay, the settings need a little adjustment(I play with the strings almost touching the frets) and the neck pu had to be raised a little.

No need to fear this guitar, it's not that I am a pro, but I would definately take it anyware with no worries and without a backup.

I've been playing the guitar for 15 years, I also own a Fender Squier. The RG570 is great, I love playing with it, if I would change something on it, it would be the pickups and the controls, they are average. Watch out the jack input, if you dont it will get loose.

I bought this guitar with metal in mind - it delivers!
The V8 bridge humbucker has a reasonably high output, it also retains clarity where other stock pickups would become "muddy". Sounds closer to a Dimarzio FRED than an EVOLUTION. It probably is comparible in output.
The S1 single coil is a bit of a waste on an RG - what sort of metal head would use a single coil? It is of reasonable quality and sounds like it could be useful for something - Radiohead perhaps ha, ha, ha. The between positions are good especially the middle singlecoil selected with the neck humbucker. RGs can get a fairly wide range of sounds.
The V7 neck Humbucker is not quite as high in output as it's V8 bridge counterpart. The V7, in my opinion, actually sounds better than the V8 but then again I play on the neck too much considering I'm supposed to be a metalhead. The V7 is also prety good for playin' the blues though.
I play the following setup:

IBANEZ RG570 > IBANEZ DS7 DISTORTION > MORLEY PRO SERIES WAH > MARSHALL VALVESTATE 2000 AVT150.

I use the Ibanez DS7 DISTORTION to boost the Overdrive One channel on my amp.
I get the rest of my effects from my amp.
The V8 bridge humbucker has a dark sound which adds a distinctively metal sound to this guitar. It is by no means an EVOLUTION. I am assuming that anyone most of the people considering an RG of any sort are a fan of Ibanez players - Satch, Vai , Gilbert and Petrucci(former Ibanez player). The V8 can get a "Satchish" sound with a ton of delay and chorus. Vai and Petrucci are definately out the window. The V8 favours tone over output. A bad thing? You decide. Saying that the V8 does get a good harmonic response but in comparison with a Peavey Wolfgang Special QT it isn't that high in output.
The S1 middle single coil is supposedly high output but it still is a fairly pointless feature on a Rock Guitar unless you need John Sykes style clean sounds.
The V7 neck humbucker is quite bright but cannot achieve a Les Paul type P.A.F Slash sound.
Most seem to be replacing the stock Ibanez V7 neck and V8 bridge humbuckers. I will do like wise. I will probably get an EVOLUTION put into the bridge but I've heard that a STEVE'S SPECIAL sounds better in an RG than an EVOLUTION and both have an output of around 400mV.
I'm set on a P.A.F. PRO for the neck position JEMS and JS series Ibanez guitars both use them in the neck position - I'm guessing it is the right choice of neck pickup for an RG hopefully it will be.
The V8 bridge humbucker is surprisingly noisy compared to the V7 neck humbucker. The between positions and the S1 middle single coil are also noisy but what else can you expect with a singlecoil?
The V7 neck humbucker is completely noiseless. This will undoubtedly vary with different setups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I lowered the action when I brought it home but I use a low action for others it may have been perfect.
I was concerned about the angle of the to the top of the guitar - it wasn't flush.
I set up the guitar and the EDGE keeps almost perfect tuning still no match for an Original Floyd Rose though but good luck trying to get one on a guitar in this price bracket. The bridge cavity has been well routed but I think Ibanez should make more of a big deal over the paint in the back and bridge cavities. No one can see this kind of thing but it is probably the little things that seal the deal.
Overall the paint job is excellent - Cosmic Blue is the coolest colour ever. I 've heared all the stories about how the paint on RGs is willing to be talked off the guitar but a few chips always look cool. If you through the guitar about (I DON'T) then the paint is bound to come off.
One of the two major annouances I have with the paint on this guitar is that it scratches really easily. Most noticeably on the headstock. It is black and scratches when removing a string from under the retainer bar. The Mirror Silver Ibanez logo is just so cool and whats more it doesn't scratch!
The other problem is that if you palm mute and sweat as much as I do the Iron Pewter paint will be rubbed off the saddles on the bridge. Again no big deal but Ibanez should review their choice of paints so that longevity rather than looking the daddy's bollocks is what is most important.
One last thing was the irregulary huge strap buttons that Ibanez have used. The screws are so big that the choice of strap locks is limited but the strap buttons are so big that I haven't needed them as of yet.
However,I blame Sound Control for knowing Jack about guitars and having staff that are mostly ,literally, idiots.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar will withstand gigs aslong as it is treated with the love that all guitars deserve and not thrown around all over the stage.
The bridge's paint will come off fairly easily but apart from that the hardware seams to be made of a reasonably hard metal (e.g. not gold) unlike some other RGs I have heard about you can't snap the bolts for the locking nut.
The finish won't come off.
The strap buttons are the best I've had on a guitar, their size is questionable though. They won't come out when you stage dive like my friend's ones did either but that was on a Korean made Ibanez GIO and as anyone with experience of Ibanez will know that Korean made guitars are in a waord SHITE!
I doubt whether I can depend on this guitar or any guitar with a recessed FLOYD ROSE, one snapped string and you're on the way to the knackers yard.
I will get a non-FLOYD ROSE guitar as a backup at some stage but until then I'll just pimp someone else's guitar as a backup whenever I'm gonna be playin' a gig.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with Ibanez. Thank GOD! I know this thech guy and he waited seven months for a replacemeny locking nut for an RG a couple of years ago.
I'm sure just by reading some reviews you'll get an idea of how much Ibanez care for their loyal customers.
They should have an advertising slogan; "Once you've bought one of our guitars you're on your own."

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for almost four years but I can shred a bit.
If thie guitar were lost or stolen I'd probably consider an RG550 or a Peavey Wolgang Special QT.
I love the bridge (the original JEM and JS series guitars used EDGEs prior to the introduction of the LO-PRO EDGE). The pickups are good considering their stock still gonna' change them though. The Super Wizard neck is trully amazing especially if you've got small hand like me. I love the guitar in general except for that bloody single coil.
I compared it to the RG550 and the Peavey Wolfgang Special QT. I played five RG550s and they all played like crap compared to the five or so RG570s I also tried. My brother already had the Peavey so no point in me getting one.
I wish this guitar had a coil tap. It would just be so cool - like one of the old JPMs.

I know it is an RG570, but since I bought it second hand, I do not know its year. It is the standard thing: 3 pich-ups neck V7, middle : single coil, and bridge V8 ( V7 and V8 are the hum-buckers). Bridge is floyd rose tremolo I think. And it has 24 Frets on a very thin but solid neck ( with the nuts on the top to keep the strings in tune).

Sound : 10
I think it sounds great. I play heavy ( 80's & 90's) and some black metal. My first guitar was a fender Stratocaster, which is great for that eights stuff, but the single coils just can not provide the sound you want for heavy metal. Allso the neck on the strat was to thick to go fast and to short to reach the high notes. I am using a Fender Frontman R25 amp, but I am planning to buy a bigger amp for gig's. When I put the gain, bass, and treble on max, the medium on minimum and select my V8 humbucker, it comes pretty close to the sound I want( that of an F16 taking off with afterburner ;-) ), except for the low sustain. Especially on high notes, but I think that can be helped with a better amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Since I had it second hand, I do not know the factory set-up, but at the time when I got it it was OK. Just one scratch in the paint, but who cares. Everything is perfect, except the fitting of the tremolo bar. I can not remeber it being like that from the beginning, but it shakes in its fitting ( it is removable via a click-in, click-out system), but I think I will be able to fix that.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I never played a gig (yet), but if I would, this axe would be the (only) one I would take. It has never broken down or failed me in any way, very reliable.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 4 years, and the only other electric guitar I played is my strat, but the Ibanez kicks its ass when it comes to metal. The V8 sounds great, the action is nice and low on a thin neck, wich makes for high speed playing. I read some-where that it was no good for palm muting, but that is not true, I mute allmost constantly and fast, and on this guitar I can keep up with Manowar and Judas Priest when it comes to fast muting. I allso love the tremolo, you can bend it down till the strins hang lose, let it go, and the tune is right back ( good luck trying that with a strat). I can get some better pinch harmonics out of it too. oh yeah, and the long neck with the deep body cut-in gives easy acces to those high screaming notes, very handy for solos. And on the shallow side, I just love the way it looks: Black body, dark rown-black neck and no pick-up guard ( or what do you call that white plate strats have ??).

From Japan, probably made in '93 or '94. Same as all the other RG570's. Pup configration is quite fun.

Sound : 8
I just play w/ the original pups and it can get muddy quickly. Sustain is a problem. I play it through a Marshall Valvestate 100 stack with a 4x12 cab; the distortion w/ the Ibanez is great, but I attribute that to the amp. Don't try to play anything more complez than metal or 80's rock on this. If you don't wan't to use the tremolo, don't buy this guitar, the floating bridge will just drive you insane.

For features this thing is great, 24 frets, which isn't a must have but it's definitly an advantage. The floyd rose tremelo is sweet, it's gives you a lotof room to dive and stuff. The wizard neck is easily my favorite part, it's so thin and fast and suits my small hands perfect. And the locking nuts at the top of the fret board keep you're guitar in-tune for days, and with the fine tuning on the tremelo brigdeyou don't need to unlock the nuts everytime you retune.

Sound : 9
For sound it kills my first guitar. The pickups will do the trick for ya but if you want outstanding sound then i suggestswitching, but there is no hurry with these ones. I ever you the single coil s1 though, it just tends to get in the way.

The factory set-up was really good, the action was a little to high for me but it wasn't to bad, the intontion was colse enough. The pickups were in good placement. I love my finish which is rootbeer metallic, it looks nothing like the website. It's a lot darker and almost looks black but when the light hit's it right it's amazing.

I don't need to tell you about the ibanez's features you already know.

Sound : 4
Although the pickups are pretty hot the tone is still flat and airy, if your looking to by a guitar for metal try something else. I play 80's metal(Van Halen, early Ozzy, Dokken, etc.), Classic rock, blues and jazz and the RG570 wasn't really good for any of those styles. The highes are to shrill and the lows are to muddy. I'm not playing through crap amps either. I tried quite a bit to make the Ibanez sound good through my Marshall JCM2000 DSL100 and my Fender Hot Rod Deville 410 but nothing worked. Although this guitar was intended as a "shredder" guitar i'm better off shredding on my strat.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
The Gray Nickel paint job looked alright when i first bought it put for some reason the paint just doesnt want to stay on. The guitar is only six months old and i can already see wood in four differnet spots. IF lightly hit by anything the paint just comes off. There's only a one ply paint job really poor quality. The frets are pretty bad too. I got this guitar brand new right out of the box and even after i got everything set up by a pro there was still a lot of buzzing from certain frets so much so that on certain frets no pitch is produced. i know they want to make this guitar comfortable but c'mon. By the way the pots on the volume and tone were pretty scratchy too.

Reliability/Durability : 5
The only thing good on the RG570 are the strap buttons, nice and large. But is it reliable, no. I wouldn't practice at home without a backup. Tuning drifts after heavey trem use. You might as well have a strat bridge if you don't use floyd for some dives. The hardware seemed like the most reliable part. I'm worried about the neck.

My USA Fender cost the same as the Ibanez. I expected more from this guitar for $550 even though it was made in japan. I sold this guitar just because i couldn't look at it anymore. Way over priced. Whatever you do don't by the RG570 or any Ibanez for that matter, even the $1700 Ibanez guitars suck, Buy a Kramer or a Jackson. Never in my life will i ever buy an Ibanez again. If it was stollen i'd feel sorry for the guy that stole it. Ibanez is the Martin of electric guitars all it is, is the name. The quality of the guitars is very bad. If you can find a USA Ibanez from the 80's get that, those are a lot better than these pieces of crap.

Made in 1998 (I think), purchased new in 1999, Grey Newton finish. Basswood body, 24 frets, maple fretboard. Hum-Sing-Hum configuration, with a Floyd-Rose Edge tremelo. Volume and Tone control, and a five-way selector switch. Gotoh tuners, far as I know. 25.5 inch scale. All been covered before...

Oh yeah, it came with an Ibanez hard-case, a Crate GRX20 practice amp, cheap strap and a cable. Part of the package I negotiated with the clerk. Happened to be a good friend, so I wound up paying less for the whole package than the actual list-price of the guitar. So the price above is what the guitar itself cost.

Sound : 10
I love this guitar! It's my first (and so far, only) guitar, had it for three years, been playing for 3 1/2. I'm a metal freak, it's all I play, pretty much. If it's remotely metal, I'll probably like it. Fear Factory, Korn, Metallica, System Of A Down, mainly newer stuff, but I love the older stuff as well. Play through a POD Pro, through a 50 watt RMS power amp. This guitar sounds awesome! I recently put in a Duncan Distortion in the bridge, and very heavy strings. While I liked the sound before, the bridge pickup was a bit too trebly for my liking. After the pickup change, perfect sound, heavy as all hell.
I can get any kinds of sound, from U2 to death metal. I've found it's very versatile.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This guitar was set-up by the store, so when I took it home, it was great. After about two years, I had put on heavier strings, tuned down to C. Still, no problems, intonation was fine, action was still low as all hell. Recently, I went to a guitar tech, and put on much heavier strings, with a .60 on the bottom. Tuned down to B-standard.
Still no problems at all with the intonation, action. Still great.
The only thing that bugs me is the tremelo, I know it's not its fault, but I constantly change my tunings to drop-A, and as its a floating bridge, this throws the entire tuning out. I had it blocked, and while I do miss the trem when soloing, it's worth it. Gives a bit more sustain, as well. The finish isn't brilliant either, nice colour, but it chips easily. I wouldn't knock it too hard.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Except for the finish, which chips easily, this guitar can withstand ANYTHING. I've heard others have problems, but seriously, I don't think anything can break it. I've been gigging for a year now, and I'm active on stage, and this guitar has survived much abuse, virtually unscathed. Except for the finish. The strap buttons are fine, but I would buy strap locks as well, be on the safe side. I've had no problems, at all. I don't have another guitar, because I've never felt like I need another one! I do gig without a back-up, every weekend.

Customer Support : 10
I've only dealt with them once, just a question about one of their pedals, and they got back to me the next morning. No problems there.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar is my pride and joy. It's my only guitar, because I've never seen the point in buying another one if this one does everything I want it to, and more. It will never break, and sounds fantastic. I play through a POD Pro, with a 50 watt RMS power amp (made about 20 years ago, but f--k, it sounds good!), and two no-name speakers (sounds great). If it was stolen or lost, I would buy another in a heartbeat. If you want a great guitar that won't cost you the earth, get this!

Features : 9
My beauty was made in 98,99 somewhere around there. Typical 570 set up, h/s/h, single vol, single tone and a 5 position pick-up switch.
I have the stock neck and center pick-ups, but I upgraded to a duncan distortion in the bridge position to tighten her up a little. She has the rose wood, ultra thin, ultra fast 24 fret Wizard neck and a Floyd Rose razor locking trem., the paint is a flat grey/black with blackened chrome hardware.

Sound : 8
I play metal, not with Godsmacks simplicity nor with Jason Beckers complexity, however I do like my riffs heavy and crisp, the stock bridge pick-up just didnt do it for me. As I wrote before, I replaced the stock V8 pickup with a Duncan distortion, it takes up the slack of the V8, though it is passive, it is aggressive. Aside from that everything else was exceptional. The guitar itself is very light yet due to the basswood construction it still maintains a good thick resonance. The neck is smooth and with the rose wood fret board, once again the heavy nature is maintained. However even though my use of the other pickups is limited I do play a considerable amount of clean stuff and I can say that for what these attributs are to a heavy tone, they are directly proportional to a full and beautiful clean tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action was tremendous and to say it was the factories doing I would be cheating the shop I bought it from. They are notorious for making every guitar for sale perfect, or at least perfect for the style of play the guitar was intended. The playability is out standing as far as the speed of the neck of course it should be, considering the neck is one of the, if not the thinnist necks manufactured, the frets are like 3/32 and the action is damn near the same. I mean this thing is ideal for running scales as well as just chunking along on the E

Reliability/Durability : 9
My beauty is tough, and I'll tell you what, I also have two RG520's and an old 7/8 body RX that I play. Ibanez for me has made indestructable works of art. But beware if you thrash or strum alot, because your in store for some wear on the face of the guitar, I've worn threw to the wood on three of my guitars. That doesn't bother me because they still sound good, on the same token the beautiful blacked chrome that is on my humbucker rings is all worn off ,but like I said I thrash so you may not have that problem, another problem I noticed was excessive corrosion on the bridge and nut
but I think thats due to my profuse sweating when I play, however If you happen to run across the same problem, WD-40 after every gig seems to help the problem and it cant hurt especially if you use the trem. alot or if you do alot of palm muting. I have yet to replace the volume or tone knob and my pick-up switch does not crack when switching
Aside for the asthetic problems this guitar is a beast

All of the customer support I've dealt with was online and every thing I needed was easy to get. the web site is WWW.Ibanez.com
they have cool stuff to download and to get schematics you pay nothing. I do all my own repairs so I don't deal with the warranty stuff to much but as far as parts go Ibanez puts the same electronics in all of their guitars the only real difference is in the pick-ups and depending on the set up, the type of pick-up switch , or way that the pick-up switch is hooked up. with these common denominators it is obvious that parts are not hard to come by.

Ive been playing for 8 years and for those 8 years I have played primarily Ibanez. The price for the quality is right. The playability is impeccable in my eyes. And the durability is good. What else could you want in a guitar?
I have done some playability comparisons:
Jackson: seems like you have to be really double jointed or something to be able to play more than mary had a little lamb beyond the 12th fret the body where the neck bolts on just gets in the damn way and forces your hand into an unnatural and uncomfortable playing position how randy did it I'll never know.
Gibson: A total 180 in my eyes, action is high the neck is like an inch thick though they are the highest caliber of guitar you can buy (or so they say) you would have to retrain your self how to play if you developed your self on a neck like the wizard I mean how the hell could somebody scream on a neck like that, blues and 70's rock I can understand mess was bliss in solos but what kind of crack is zakk wild
smokin and where can I get some.
In closure I say take time in choosing a guitar, play them you'll know when it feels right.

2001 model, made in Japan. 24 jumbo frets. 1 vol knob, 1 tone knob, H/S/H configuration (V7/S1/V8 respectively), grey nickel finish, Floyd Rose Edge locking trem w/ locking tuners, THIN neck

I play it through a Marshall Valvestate 232 combo most of the time, and it sounds pretty good. Only a couple complaints: First is the stock pickups. They're better than average but they are definately not worth writing home about. They shred decently and dont sound that bad but they come off as bland and muddy. Second, the Floyd Rose trem eats up tone and sustain like you wouldnt believe. Because I dont use the trem a hell of a lot, I made the decision to stick a bridge block into the guitar to keep that thing from moving anywhere. That helped the tone and sustain a lot, and its totally worth it if you dont use thhe trem very much. You can always take it out.

Something to keep in mind if you go to replace the pickups (because you most likely will want to): While EMG's and Invaders and stuff like that sound great for high output, massive distortion and crunch in this guitar, you'll be totally limited to that kind of sound if you put those in. Instead, I'd recommend something with more tone and less pure noise. I stuck a DS Jeff Beck in the bridge position and this thing just sounds great now. I can play anything i want except for country, but who plays that anyways :P

This guitar had been in the store for a while and Im pretty sure they set it up. It was alright I guess, but I had it set up again after I bought it anyways just because im anal like that :)

The finish is gorgeous, the black hardware looks really sweet against hte grey nickel body. I havent had any accidents with this guitar yet so I cant really say how well it holds up to abuse, but if you abuse any guitar its going to bust.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Ive used this guitar a few times live and had no problems. The bridge block on the Floyd Rose greatly reduces the risk of strings snapping on stage, which is probably this guitar's biggest single flaw. With the block in, I would most definately gig without a backup if I had to, although I never feel quite right about gigging with a backup no matter what guitar im using.

The finish seems to be pretty good, its been scratched a few times by some stuff around the house but it doesnt have a mark yet. Strap buttons are big and unless you have a really old worn out crummy strap, its not going anywhere. Very reliable overall.

Never dealt with them. I wanna give the guys at Gear Music in Oakville, Ontario credit though, they do a great job with anything you bring to them. 10 for them.

I've only been playing for a couple years but in that time I've played a lot of guitars and developed a pretty solid preference as to how a guitar should play. This one is absolutely perfect for me. Its got the looks and the sound to go with the type of music I play, which is mostly punk, hard and classic rock, and a little blues. I wish I'd known more about the Floyd Rose system before I bought it, but i doubt it would have altered my selection. Everything else about this guitar rocks too hard.

I really wish the stock pickups were a bit better. I would not mind paying a bit more money for this gitar to get something nice like DiMarzios or JB's in it off the shelf but what can ya do.

I play Punk/Hardcore/Metal (Propagandhi, ispy, Swallowing Shit, Slayer, NOFX) and this guitar TEARS SHIT UP. It does everything from jazz/country (don't ask) to extreme death metal. It is the most versatile guitar i have ever played or heard. Rich/Full high output sound from STOCK P/Us. I replaced the bridge humbucker with a Dimarzio Tone Zone and now my Steve Vai (yes i said Steve Vai) solos sound fucking great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Guitar was perfectly setup, jammed right outta the both....didnt go outta tune til i changed strings. Floyd's hard to get used to at first, but still great. Guitar dents easily on body, (Fucking Basswood) but besides that its great. It always feels perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I HAVE TRIED TO DESTROY THIS MOTHERFUCKER AND IT WONT FUCKING DIE!!!!!!!!!!! It has withstood many long night gigs and all day practices, getting through into walls, its hit the ground from 10 feet up before, picked up, played like nothign happened, this guitar can def. be gigged with no backup (but if you break a string on a floyd...youre fucked)

Never dealt but with their prodcuts....they know their shit.

I beleve its a 96. The jumbo frets are bad ass.one volume, one tone, 5-way selector. Still has the V7,S1,and V8 pickups. It has a floyd rose EDGE. With locking neck this bad toy will never go out of tune. i play on a JCM 2000 marshall full stack and it sounds soo pure but put the distortion and it can be like death metal.

Sound : 10
I think this guitar is ment for people who mostly play hard rock like metallica, godsmack, pantera etc.........

It sounds a lot better now that i have a custom dimarzio in the bridge spot and a paf pro in the neck,in the middle i put in a dimarzio HS-2.
The stock pickups are above average, but did not have the tone i like.
With the custom dimarzio, i cant do anything from country to megadeth!
If it came stock this way i would give it a 10,so it gets a

This is the best playing guitar i have owned yet(i have had over 70 guitars through the years!)It has a really ultra low action that gets NO FRET BUZZ! This had to be worked on by a tech who really knew how to dress frets, becuase even my USA jackson soloist did not have this low of a action! everting else is way above standard as well, finish is done excellent, neck joint is tight,no flaws at all! i would give it rating of 10+

It was made to play hard, VERY solid feel,
