Ibanez RG 570. 24 jumbo frets, volume, tone, 5 way selector(HSH), V7, S1, V8 pickups, basswood body, I believe, Grey Nickel finish, Edge double locking trem, Wizard Neck.

Sound : 9
This midel sounds fairly well. The neck pickup is a bit bassy and somewhat muddy but the bridge pickup sounds pretty good. It also has a nice sound when using the split humbucker and single coil pickups. It produces nice clean sounds as well as raging distorted rhythms.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The factory set up was ok, on mine at least. The bridge wasn't quite balanced but that was easily fixed. The action seemed ok at the time, but I later had problems with it. It buzzed terribly, maybe I just didn't notice it at the time. The nut had to be raised but even after that, it still buzzes pretty bad. The bridge also had some strange bubbly lookin thing on the metal, almost like it was bubbled off by heat or something, it just looks bizaar. I do love the Wizard neck though. It's nice and thin and extremely easy to play. The finish looks nice too, I love the color. That playability though will cost come points.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I wouldn't play without a backup with this guitar. I find it doesn't stay in tune very well for whatever reason. I'm startin to think the saddles slip or something. Even after you lock it all up it still drifts out of tune after about 5 minutes. Extremely aggrivating. Other than that everything seems solid. The strap buttons are solid, finish is nice and thick, little wear affect.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them.

I'v been playing for about 3 years now. I've tried out a whole lot of guitars after having troubles with this one. Its not a bad guitar at all, but I wish it performed better. I'm not sure how other ones would compare but with my settings/string guages, i wasn't very impressed. I do like the look and feel of it, but thats just not enough for me. If it were stolen, I'd be relieved. It would give me a damn good reason to buy a new, better guitar.

I'm sure by reading the other reviews you know what the features are. It has V7,V8, and S1 pickups which are great for all types of tones. My guitar's color is Nickle Grey which definately is sweet. It has really cool silver knobs. Only crapy part is my tone knob crackles but I'm getting it fixed. Jumbo 24 frets. Wizard neck. Floyd Rose tremelo which is extremely sweet. The Floyd Rose is really cool because you can bend natural harmonics which sounds really cool.I had to buy the case seperate but i got it for $50. The case is well worth it.

Sound : 10
Great sound in this guitar. It has pickups for everything. The pickups give a good variety of clean tone whether you want a chunky clean or a nice soft clean tone. The distortions can get from really bright to chunky to really hard and angry. You can play anything from Slipknot to Incubus on it. Very versatile in the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Everything was great on my guitar. The finish is spectacular and the pickups and everything were adjusted great. Some crackling when switching from tone to tone or pickup to pickup. Some minor feedback but not really bad at all (its a guitar, what do you expect).

Reliability/Durability : 8
The guitar is very reliable. I haven't had a huge spill with it so I don't know how it would hold up if something significant would happen to it. The paint comes off quite easy which is kind of a bummer. The paint is really nice so you don't want to mess it up. I can depend on it so far and would'nt say you'd need a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with the company. I got it from Ted Brown though and the people will take care of it anytime.

Overall Rating : 10
Veeerrrrrrrrrrryyyyyy solid. What a great guitar with great sound and looks. I've played many Ibanez guitars and I knew right when I played this one I would buy it. I can't put it down. If someone stole this guitar I would die. I wouldn't know what to do. It would take a long time to get over it. JUST MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THE FLOYD ROSE SYSTEM IS NOT USER FRIENDLY TO PEOPLE WHO CHANGE TUNINGS ALL THE TIME. YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE BOLTS OUT EVERYTIME. YOU CAN STILL FINE TUNE WHEN THE NECK IS LOCKED THOUGH. Buy this guitar, you won't regret it. I would have paid even more money for it.

This guitar has it all V7 S1 V8 pickups(which are high output)
floyd rose (edge)trem, not one those shitty ass low pro trems
24 frets jumbo nice guitar

Sound : 10
I play mostly metal stuff but lots of stuff using clean also . The pickups ar over all very quiet. The single coil can be a little noisy but what do expect, its a stock single coil. I play it through a marshall EL34 100/100 poweramp with a rocktron piranha preamp, which is very kickass, and a marshall 1960A cab. It souds killer. When i got this guitar i used it with a boss metal zone and a peavey practice amp even with that setup it was great sounding.

I think it's a 97 or 98 year model, 24 fret, floyd rose trem... blah blah blah, it's all been covered by other people. Though I hate the trem, a steel plate bolted to the bottom of it and to the body, instead of springs fixed my complaints about it. Gotta love the thin neck, a through body or at least a set neck that thin would be nice but the bolt on hasn't failed me yet.

Sound : 5
It didn't have pickups in it when i got it, the kid I got it from took them out for is ax120, so I ended up with the ones from that, they sounded like poo so I got a lawrence XL500, now it definatelly has some punch. I'll give it a 5 since I haven't heard the stock pickups, but it does sound good the way I have it set up.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Well I did get it used, and in several pieces (had to bolt the neck back on, wire it, and rig the trem) but it's pretty hard to screw it up if you know a thing or two about guitars. The neck needed a lil adjustment (truss rod) but after that it played great.

Reliability/Durability : 5
The finish is, well, krylon i think, it originally was like purple metallic or something but the kid spray painted it a few times, it's black now. Would definatelly be better from factory.

I think it was made in 2001, Japan is stamed on the headstock,it has 24 frets and one smoken wizerd 2 neck not the cheap one i,ve read about in other reveiws. This neck has a buguda wood strip, or what ever you call it,(more on this later).pickups h,s.h v8,s1,v7 it has a basswood body two peace maple neck(love that neck). The finish is rootbeer matelflake, simply beutifull.Floyd rose lo pro, jumbo frets.I did get a cord and strap. I got this guitar for $500 new.

Sound : 9
I,m a youth leader at my church and I lead praise and worship too,I play a variety of music in the youth band.I have 1985 Fender prinction course, and my new to me (used)Line6 Flextone plus. The sound is great, sooooooooooooooo much better than my squiar strat Ha! or my Areio Pro2 I can get a realy good clean sound, all the way up to Satch and Vie with the help of my Line6.One of the youth in the band has a RG560 an older one he bought used, mine seams to have a warmer sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I bought it at a music store in Spokan Wa.( Rock City)It was set up there and very well might I say. Action is awsome low and alive no Buzzzzzzzz. The finish is flawless every things tight, no chips or dents, pickups are quiet.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It seames to be durabul I do wipe it down though whin I,m done playing, and I do play it at least two hours a day.Strap buttons? these things could hold up a tank there solid. I have never used a backup with my other guitars (had strigs on my pro2 for a year and never broke one ),and like I said I play at least two hours a day.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I,ve been playing 20 years and have had and played a multatude of guitars , I now have an old pro2 got it at a pawn shop, and a sqiare strat, oh by the way I have a 1967 maxitone that was my older bros, needs some work though.
Ok THE NECK is to die for, I played Jaksons,Wasburns,Fenders,Gibsons,Arieo pro2,Yamaha,and to tell the truth ,there necks are like 2x4s compared to Ibanze wizeird and wizeird two necks I cant say enough about them this is my favorite feature. Pickups and other componets can be replaced but the neck to me makes the guitar and Ibanez has the best, in my opinion

Year 1992

24 frets
Solid body
Strat styled set-up 2 knobs, V,T. 5 way
2 humbuckers 1 single coil in the middle.
Colour: Black
Floyd Rose locking Trem
HSCase, Wrenches, and set-up book.

Sound : 8
This guitar is my first new instrument. It was a total departure from the "classic" stuff I was playing up to that point.
Very clean and Strat-like sound. It gets better with some gain and volume.
I changed out the Humbuckers (bridge and neck). That helped beef it up some as well.
The only dislike is the frets. They (in retrospect) are a little too big. My fingers get sore slammin' into them, though on the action side and Shred-ability, I could play this guitar all day!
A great overall Guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The factory set up was O.K. They supplied a handy "how-to" book with set up instructions so I tweaked it a bit, and for the last decade it has been the shred-machine. I haven't had to adjust the neck or intonation. It does take FOREVER to change the strings though.

I do suffer with the old sky-high Floyd Rose Bridge, my palm will brush the fine tuners and I have to stretch my hand around to pick notes at the bridge.(now of course they all have the lower styled model.)

Body finish and mechanicals were first rate. No fill holes like some Fenders I've had. Fortunately for me, this wasn't someone elses' first guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The hardware has held up beautifully and it has never faultered. It has been a great utility axe. The cool thing is that if you break it, you can go get another, for the same price just about.
I have owned this same 570 for a decade. If this was the only guitar in the world, that would suit me fine. But I am looking to change it up for a JS1000.

With reasonable maintenence this Axe is MINT!

With the locking tremolo you do need a back-up guitar though. Not because of the bridge, but because STRINGS BREAK. Just like drumsticks.

Customer Support : 7
I never needed to contact Ibanez. The guitar has been great.

Overall Rating : 10
Been actively playing live, rehearsals, and Jam sessions for 17 years.
I play with an Alesis Quadra-Verb GT and a Fender Bassman 4x10. Blues based rock and Heavy Metal.
If I replaced it, it would be another IBANEZ. Probably a JS1000.
Loves: reliable, always playable, totally shred-able neck. Beautiful blacl on black finish.
Dislikes: Huge frets(speed bumps), Old styled Floyd Rose bridge. The fine-tuners stick straight up.
If you want a guitar to be continuably playable, you have to take care of it and buy a better than average instrument.. at least!

mine is a '95 made in japan 24 jumbo frets. H/S/H config ah you kno the specs. Basswood *good tone but a little soft and dents easy. thin neck but not the cheap ass shit wizard 2 they put on cheap ibanez. LOVE the finish. Its irridescent purple metallic *changes to blue at diff lights

Sound : 10
well, i play all types of music, so i have all types of guitars. this guitar isn't noisy at all, plays like a dream, love the action. floyd rose edge is awesome if ur a shredder and kno what ur doing. but if you have it cause u like to bend it up and down then i am going to slap you. some complain about not staying in tune but if u can set it up right you can smack the bar down to the body and back up and they stay in tune fine for a bolt on. i run through mesa triple rec halfstack and the sound is to die for. these people expecting these gibson-rich full tones are fucking morons. you dont buy a metal guitar if you want to play fucking jazz. If you buy a guitar PLAY IT FIRST. jesus christ some of u people amaze me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
i bought it used and set it up myself. it plays like a dream. pickups needed to be raised but no biggy there. i LOVE THIS FINISH. its trully awesome. strap buttons are screwins so u hav to tighten once in a while but after i set it up 10 10 10 10

Reliability/Durability : 10
very reliable. i would gig w/o a back up but be bitting my nails the whole time. you never kno with a floyd whats gonna happen to the strings so be ready. finish is gonna last. scratches dont show at all. overall great.

Features : 10
My review is going to be a little different, before writing this I read almost ever review on this guitar to make sure I covered a little new ground to put peoples minds at ease..
It's made in Japan, 24 frets, H-S-H setup.. Edge Bridge, Wizard Neck, Basswood body.. Mine came with a nice Grey Nickel finish..
Ok.. I've read a bunch of reviews with people complaining about features.. I see no point to this, why the hell would you buy something that doesn't have the features you want!!! It's just stupid people b!tching about stupid things.. This guitar suits all of my playing needs.. I give it a ten.. I can get tons of different sounds out of it..!

Sound : 10
I believe sound is more in the way you play then in what your playing with! That said, this thing will get a bunch of different sounds if you play with the volume and tone as well as the settings on your amp.. Many of the people shooting off at the mouth are crying over it having a crappy sound.. Well thats not the guitars fault!! Get a better amp!!! I'm playing through a 100watt Marshall Half-Stack with a Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Wah-pedal, a boss Delay, an old TubeScreamer and whatever else I find lying around. I play Heavy Metal, Industrial and Hardrock, but also like a little blues now and then.. And I can get any sound I want with a little fiddling...
It has a nice chunky sound in the neck position, and can easily handly palm-muted power chords.. Switching to the single coil does bring a little noise.. But what regular single coil doesn't.. You can get some nice glassy strat like tones out of it, the bridge humbucker is bright and tight.. It's not muddy.. I have nothing bad to say.. And if I did, it would be my own damn fault for buying it without playing it first!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Firstly, who cares how it came from the factory.. Thats a stupid question! Unless you buy direct, it just doesn't matter... When buying any guitar, get the techies at the store to set the thing up when you buy it...! That's their friggin' job!!! I got mine from McCauley's in Cambridge Ontario.. These guys are incredible.. They set this guitar up exactly how I asked, and I haven't had any of the other problems I've read about.. Then again.. I picked the guitar up and looked at it before I bought it.. When buying a guitar, if something looks wrong to you, put the thing down and move the hell on!! The Edge bridge does take some getting use to for people new to the whole floating trem' thing... www.jemsite.com is a great help for people new to Floyds.. Other then that.. I tend to rest my hand on the bridge most of the time and have had no problems.. The finish was awsome.. I've never banged my guitar yet so I can't comment on the paint.. What I can tell you is if you bang any guitar, your going to wreck the finish..!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Does this guitar withstand live playing..? How does one answer such a stupid question... Ya I guess it does.. I play live with it twice a week, have had no troubles.. I guess if people were throwing beer bottles after it it wouldn't.. Nor would it if you thought it would be fun to beat the floor with it! The finsish on mine seams to bew holding up fine.. And it's used a lot.. Both when I teach and when I play live... The strap buttons are decent, strap locks are better for playing live though.. I depend on this guitar for teaching, recording and everything else.. I never gig without a backup.. It's just a dumb idea.. Even with a fixed bridge guitar...!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Ibanez has no real customer support... Unless your Steve Vai or Satch!
My advice is to get in good with a guitar shop near you.. Talk to them.. Ask for advice, and if you buy from them, get them to fix it.. There isn't a store that I've been too that won't fix stuff they sell.. And DO NOT BUY ONLINE!!! You never can tell what your getting!

I give a - 1 for Ibanez (for a so so web site)
I give a - 10 for McCauleys.. They've never let me down

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since 1989.. I've owned Fenders, Gibsons, Epiphones, Jacksons and ESPs.. Each have something to offer, so I'm not going to bash them, nor am I going to tell you this is the best guitar in the world! That is a matter of opinion.. My advice is, go to some shops, pick up some guitars.. Don't be nervous about being new to the guitar and sounding like crap in a shop.. Everyone sucked at one point including the guys in the store!!! Find something that feels good to you.. Think about where your going to play.. are you going to stand a lot..? sit sometimes..? you should ask yourself these things when looking.. A $2000 Les Paul is a great guitar, but it's heavy, and isn't the best for sitting back on the couch for playing.. Nor can you get as many sounds out of it.. This guitar has been perfect for me and my needs.. It's not to heavy, has easy access to the frets, sounds good, and I can sit back and the body is contoured enough to be nice and comfortable! If it were lost or stolen, I'd buy another, but lets face it guitars are a very personal thing and you can never replace something your really enjoy.. The only thing I wished it had was a button I could push to make it spit out money! (dumb question.. sorry..) If your looking for a well priced guitar, that can do what you ask of it and more.. Then go try one out.. sit with it and play it.. plug it into a bunch of different amps.. Hell.. Get the guy in the store to play for you and just listen.. In the end you'll find something you like.. for me, it's this guitar..

Good features for $570, 24 frets. The previous comment about 'i worked at ibanez...blah blah made out of scrap' you are an IDIOT!!! I'd just thought that you might want to know that, because.. you are. You've never worked at ibanez.. or you got fired for being an idiot and wanted revenge by posting bad comments. There are not many guitars that are as good as the 570 for this price range. I'd prefer a $600 Jackson to this.. but that's about it.

Sound : 8
The sound.. the sounds good for the money. I installed EMG's in it. Overall sound is better now.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I never played an Ibanez fresh from the factory, mine was already set-up. Pickups were adjusted fine. Frets were files smoothly, no jagged edges or anything. Everything was fine on it :)

Reliability/Durability : 9
this guitar is very reliable and durable... I've had it for over 3 years now.. strap buttons need tightneing every couple of months.. it does use SCREWS which will always loosen with use. I would use it on a gi w/o a backup. The frets have good wear on them.. as with any 'nickel' frets. Unless you have a Parker of course.. those beasts basically DON'T wear down.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them

Overall Rating : 7
I'll give it an 8. There's alot better out there.. but also ALOT worse. If you're in the market for a mid-priced performer, definatley check the rg-570 before you buy something else. Along with some jacksons in the same price range. For the idiot who made the comment about the "flexitone" did you mean 'flextone' and if you did... .to say that all guitars sound the same through there is RETARDED! That thought is halarious and just NOT possible. You are definatley mentally retarded!

Typical fender style guitar with floyd rose I copy tremolo.
H-S-H setup, all Ibanez pickups
3 Piece guitar.
- Bolt On construction
- 2 Piece Neck

Sound : 1
Very dull, muddy clean sound for ALL pickups and betweens.
Very low output pickups and noisy

Only good thing about the sound it produce is that it doesn't have ANY characteristics of it's own. so u can play with the sound in studio.. like put those 'lost in space' type of fx on to it.

Distortion sounds just plain...CRAP
clean sounds just dull... CRAP

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
the way i got it,
-1mm action from 12th fret
-neck bent
-tremolo fully unblanced(meaning its arse pointing right up)
-pickups touching the strings

Meaning - FULL BUZZing machine
I fixed it and now i have decent action, BUT the frets iteself are crap.. so the buzz is still there... it's IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of it.

The pickups were touching the frikkin 1st string, and couldn't use the tremolo cuz of it.

The Neck is too thin..

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would depend on it for gigs but i wouldn't take it neway cuz it sounds shit..

Customer Support : No Opinion
Good people I worked at IBanez...so I know who to contact...

I rang them and told that i felt about the guitar.. how shit it was..

Overall Rating : 1
Ironically, Ive worked at Ibanez in the past... Ive designed new models and tested them.

I gotta say this guitar is just fuckin piece of shit that Ibanez made with the scrap woods and hardwares.

Other RGs are pretty good for their money but, this is just SHIT

I have
for amps
Fender Super REverb Reissue '65 and a Marshall JCM 800 on a A/B splitter.

for guitars
Jackson - JS 20 (Modified by me. changed pickups, tremolo, body, and electronics in side)
Fender Strat 50s Relic

gotta say.
It really sounded good in the shop.. but come to think of it the guitar was plugged in to "flexitone" the one that sounds the same no mattar what guitar it is plugged in to. The neck seemed ok but when u play for over an hour u start to feel its dicomfort.

All the same features as listed by others, 24 jumbo frets, basswood body, maple neck with rosewood finger board, humbuckers in neck and bridge, single coil in the middle position, Edge locking trem.

Sound : 7
This guitar can get a lot of different sounds with it's pickup combination. It sounds pretty good overall and gets a great high gain type sound but the cleans are a little mushy for my liking.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar plays great, that's what I love most about it. I've owned several different models including a RG550 and a RG770DX. I scalloped the neck on this one which I really dig. It's one of those things you either like or you don't like but I do. The factory set up on this guitar was fine, no complaints here. The finish is a great looking metallick red which looks great with the black hardware. The Edge trems are my favorite. I actually like them better than Floyd Roses, they feel so much smoother to me.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
These are very durable guitars, as I said before, I've owned several of these and they can take a serious beating. I would always gig with a back up but that's no fault to the guitar, you just never know what could happen live.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 8
I think that these guitars are a good value especially what you can get these for used, I see them all the time for under $350. Tone wise, it's not anywhere near that of my USA Jackson but it does have it's place in my arsenal of guitars. I would pick up another one of these or maybe just get another Jackson if this were lost or stolen.

I BOUGHT THIS ONE USED- IT HAS THE METALLIC SILVER FINISH. IT IS A JAPANESE MODEL PROBABLY A YEAR OR TWO OLD. THE BODY IS SOLID BASSWOOD AND THE NECK IS MAPLE WITH A ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD. THE PICKUPS ARE DIMARZIO EVOLUTIONS(NOT STOCK) AND IN A H-S-H CONFIGURATION. THERE ARE 24 FRETS, JUMBO I THINK, AND A VOLUME AND TONE CONTROL. THE BODY IS LIKE THE STEVE VAI JEMS AND ARE VERY COMFORTABLE AND COOL LOOKING. THE TUNERS ARE GOTOH STYLE. THE BRIDGE IS AN EDGE TREMOLO WHICH IS A LESS STIF FELLING VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL FLOYD ROSE.

Sound : 8
IT CAN SCREAM OR PLAY BLUESY SINGLE COIL SOUNDS. IT IS VERY VERSATILE BUT BETTER WITH ROCK AND METAL. THE SOUND IS VERY RESONANT AN WARM, AND THE LOWS AND HIGHS PREVAIL. I LOVE THE GROWL, CRANK, AND DISTORTION THEY CAN MAKE, BUT THE WOOD IS SOFT AND GETS DENTED EASILY.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
THE ACTION IS LOW AND FAST, ALTHOUGH THE NECK IS A LITTLE THIN FOR MY TASTE. THE PICKUPS ARE EASILY ADJUSTABLE AND THE FRETS SEEM NICE AND TIGHT. THE FINISH COULD BE A LITTLE BRIGHTER AND THE ROUTING BEHIND THE BRIDGE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. THE NECK POCKET IS ALSO HAS A SLIGHT GAP SO I HAD TO PLAY WITH IT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS ALLIGNED RIGHT. THIS MAY AFFECT THE SUSTAIN A LITTLE, BUT NOT MUCH. THE HARWARE LOOKS COOL BUT WEARS OF A LITTLE. THE SWICH IS FINE THOUGH AND THE ACTION IS THE BEST PART OF THE GUITAR.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I USE IT LIVE BUT TAKE A BACKUP IN CASE I BREAK A STRING. THE HARDWARE WILL LUST ALTHOUGH THE FINISH ON IT MAY WEAR A LITTLE. THE STRAP BUTTONS ARE SOLID AND BIG AND THE GUITAR IS VERY DEPENDABLE. YOU CAN ALSO GO TO TOWN ON THE BAR WITHOUT IT GOING OUT OF TUNE.

Customer Support : No Opinion
NEVER DEALT WITH THEM.

Overall Rating : 8
I'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR NINE YEARS AND OWN AN RG550, EX1500, AND A CARVIN LEGACY. I WOULD DEFENITELY BUY THIS GUITAR AGAIN BUT IN A DIFFERENT COLOR AS THE GREY NICKEL AS THEY CALL IT IS SPARKLY BUT STILL A LITTLE DULL. I LOVE THE ACTION AND PLAYABILITY BUT THINK THAT A LITTLE MORE ATTENTION COULD GO IN THE PRODUCTION. THE TREMOLO IS THE BEST OUT THERE AND THE GUITAR IS VERY VERSITILE AND CAN REALLY GROWL. I WISH IBANEZ MADE A VERSION WITH A TREMOLO THAT STOPS AT THE BODY AND DOESN'T PULL UP. A LOT OF PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE THAT BUT IT WOULD ADD MORE SUSTAIN AND YOU COULD PUT A DETUNER ON IT. BUT SINCE IT IS FLOATING, YOU CAN ABUSE THE HELL OUT OF IT WITHOUT IT DAMAGING THE BODY LIKE A NON-FLOATING ONE. GREAT ROCK GUITAR OVERALL BUT HAS A FEW PRODUCTION FLAWS IN THE FINISH. TYPICAL JAPANESE MASS PRODUCTION.

I bought this guitar used so i'm not sure when it was made. I do know it was made in Japan. I really like the two humbuckers with the single in the middle position. The Double locking Edge Floyd Rose bridge is really cool. It's got a Wizard neck and 24 frets, the neck is very comfortable and easy to get around on. The finish is a very cool Blue mixing into black type of color, I guess it could be called a Blue Sunburst. It came with an Ibanez Deluxe case. It came with just about the standard stuff except the whammy bar which I bought later for 10 bucks. It came with a strap and is strap lock equipped which is very good. I have an Explorer that took a fall and the top of the headstock got smashed off. I was able to fix it but a strap lock has been a requirment of mine ever since!

Sound : 9
It suits my music style quite well, I play Metal/rock for the most part. I'm running it through a Peavey Ultra Plus Half stack. I have a Crybaby Wah before the amp and I run a Digitech RP-2000 through the effects loop. The pickups aren't bad. I am thinking about changing the bridge pickup to a Dimarzio super distortion for extra power, but the V2 pickup thats in there has a warm quality to it that I also really like. It's not as high output as some but it still rocks, so I may or not leave it in there. I am completely satisfied with the V1 Neck Pickup. It sounds great with clean tones and extended chord voicings. I love to use the neck pickup with a bit of chorus. It also sounds great for leadwork too. The Single coil S1 pickup produces a good strat like sound. I like to use the single coil to produce Tones like The Edge from U2 would use. Overall with all the pickup combinations it can cover a wide range of tones. The pickup switch did make a bit of noise but I cleaned that out and it's fine now.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action on the guitar is low but not as low as i've had it before on other guitars. Since this guitar is used it has some Dents and Dings here and there but nothing huge. The The top of the Pickup selector switch has been changed to a white one, apparently there was something wrong with the original one.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This seems to be a pretty reliable guitar. It stays in tune very well. I could depend on this guitar for the majority of the time. I would probably use my Epiphone Explorer as a backup for this guitar on a gig though. When a string breaks with a Floyd Rose Bridge it just takes to much time to mess with when you are playing live.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had to deal directly with Ibanez.

I'm quite happy with this guitar. I wasn't even planning on buying it originally. I was just getting some strings at the store and I saw that that this guitar was in good shape and had a killer price on it. If it were stolen or lost I would probably get something else just because I like to have different kinds of guitars. I've been playing for over 6 years. I also have a Fender Duo sonic, an Ibanez RG-270, an Epiphone Explorer(with a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge position)and a Gibson Sg Junior(with a Seymour Duncan Screaming Demon in the bridge position). I play a Guild acoustic that my Mom Gave me and a classical guitar that has no brand or serial number on it. The Classical was given to me by Mom as well. I also have a Fender Rock Pro 700 Amp, Crate Gx-15 amp, an Ibanez Tubescreamer Re-issue pedal, a DOD EFX prossecor and a shure Wireless. I haven't tried it through my old amps and pedals but i'm sure it would sound good through them. I love the fact that this guitar looks beautiful and sounds great! It will be on the front line of my guitar squadron from now on!

My style of music is mostly metal, but if the song is good I'll learn it. I've used this guitar with various amps, Marshall JCM 900/1960A Half stack, Crate G200CXL ministack, Peavey 5150 Half stack, it's sounded great coming out of all of them (with a little tweaking on both the amps and the V/T controls on the guitar). After 9 years of playing this guitar in different climates (Mississippi, New Mexico, etc.) it got a little noisy when switching between pickups, but after a shot of contact cleaner I was ready to go again.

I can best describe the tone of this guitar as "warm". Basswood really seems to stand out as the wood to use if you're stuck as to whether to pick a Ash bodied or Mahogany bodied guitar. The sustain isn't huge, but its there. To sum it all up this guitar's tone really fit the sound that I wanted.

With the H-S-H pickup configuration you can really get any kind of sound you want. The effects you have, your amp, and in the end your own personal style are really going to determine what you can get out of this guitar.

Personally I have no dislikes about this guitar. The only thing that got close is the stock pickup sound. But 30 mintues, a couple of pickups, and a soldering iron can fix that. The balance of this guitar is excellent, the Wizard neck is the most confortable I've played. Even having large hands I became very confortable with this neck very quickly, Fretting the E-string with my thumb has allowed me to do some really fun stuff since I bought this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was bought from American Musical Supply originally and came setup perfectly. I popped open the locking nut tuned the strings to pitch and was able to play this guitar within half an hour of opening the box. The guitar was packed in the case and shipped in the original box from Hoshino USA. The fit on this guitar is awesome. The frets where perfect, and the neck pocket finish crack that so many people have noticed with Ibanez's has yet to appear at all.

The Black Finish on this guitar was impeccable, and even after ten years of use is still impeccable (some minor pick and buckle marks aside). The black finished bridge has a very small amount of pitting but its nothing compared to the Original Floyd on my friend's Fender Strat.

Overall, this guitar came out of the box in excellent condition, and has maintained that condition over the years through 3 interstate moves (and a little bit of polishing on my part over the last 10 years).

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've played this guitar live many times, I've used and abused it on many an occasion and its withstood everything I could throw at it. The worst that's happened was the High E-string breaking when I decided I was going to see how high I could raise the pitch pulling back on the bar (first time I ever had tried a FR style bridge at the time).

With a little maintenance (just like any guitar needs) I've had no rust apeear on the hardward, no paint chips, and no problems with the durability of the hardware.

The stock Ibanez strap buttons are excellent for live work, I opted for a change-out to Dunlop Strap-Lok's after getting my second guitar to speed up change-overs.

I've depended on this guitar for a long time. It was and still is my amin guitar, live and in recording. I'd use this guitar without backup anyday of the week, month or year. The absolute only reason I'd use a backup is because of strings breaking. Until there's an unbreakable string I think guitars with a Floyd Rose installed are gonna need a backup.

Customer Support : 9
I've never dealt with Hoshino USA concerning this guitar, but I've dealt with Ibanez/Hoshino USA on a few aoccasions. In every instance they've been perfect. My biggest problem has been with a few select authorized retailers who didn't understand the difference between the Edge and Lo-Pro Edge bridges and some of the other Ibanez parts.

The warranty that came with the guitar was for one year. Its no lifetime warranty, but then again guitars aren't exactly a solid piece of steel like a Craftsman wrench so I didn't expect anything huge.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 12 years now. I had a MIJ Fender Strat before this guitar. Compared to the Strat this guitar has been a god-send. Since buying this guitar I've bought 6 other RG's and everyone of them has proven to be just as reliable, and well-built as my first. The only thing I wish I would have known more about before buying this guitar was the Floyd Rose system, but I've come to believe through years of use that the benefits of the Floyd outweight the cons of it. I choose this guitar originally after checking out it and some other guitars at the local music store. after comapring it to BC Rich's, Peavey's, Washburn's and HM Strats I felt it was the guitar that best suited me. If this guitar were stolen, I'd replace of course. I'm not going to make the usual death, torture, and mangling threats I've seen. I would say however that "severly pissed" would be a massive understatement.

Overall, I'd say this guitar is one of the best I've ever played. It's not an Ibanez JEM/Universe, PRS, Les Paul, or anything like that obviously. But this guitar is a workhorse, it sounds like I want it to when I need it to. For the money this is the JEM you can afford, the Strat that can do much more, and a Les Paul without the chiropractic bills. Alot of the mail-order companies are selling this guitar for $609 now, compared to an American Strat for $800+ I'd say this is the better value.

Bought this guitar in 1995. This is an excellent guitar but it comes with some cheap junky pickups. Dump those suckers. I replaced them with a PAF Pro and a FRED. (same as on the JS1000). NOW, this guitar truly sings and it can "growl" as well. The neck is great. Good deep cutaway body.

Serial Number:42479. Made in Japan in 1988 or 87 bought in 98 from idiot friend for 170$. It has 24 jumbo frets,5way selector ,h-s-h configuration to give the split hum position in the 2 and 4 position. Original v1 and v2 humbuck and s1 single coil. It's got a rosewood fingerboard thats a dream, the original wizard thin neck (very thin)
with reinforced carbon rods, 3piece basswood body. The body has does deep cutaway like the jem style guitars. Though it was bilt to match the Jem in many ways the angle of the neck and some other things are the only main differences. It's a nice sparkle wine red finish.
Floyd rose Edge trem not that new lopro crap.
Gotoh fine tuners are rock solid for keeping the guitar in tune.
It included the hardshell case and all tools.

Sound : 9
It is the guitar i always wanted. It's great for metal to Jazz because of the split feature on the pickups. Great for that midrangey strat tone and to get that pantera style sound. Great for Vai and Satch fans to.

I currenctly use a marshall g 10 mk.II amp with only a digitech whammy pedal. When playing with the pedal the sound gets so fat it's incredible. The 5 position is so full and rich. The tone matches yngwies soloing tone. All and all the guitar is excellent for multiple varietys of sound the pickups will take the abuse.

only thing i don't like about it is the tone nob is useless.
It doesn't add weight to the sound. Maybe i'll have to change it
But its a classic guitar so originall must be better.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
When i bought the guitar from my friend he had removed the locking nut and had locked the brige in a fixed position. I of course got it up to the original setup and ajusted it to the buzz tuning system(At least i think). Anyways the action is very low i mean 4/64 of the frets. The pickups are never a the same position but i found that putting them a 1/8 of an inch away from the strings give the real sound of the guitar. The guitar was beautiful. No nothing i could notice execept for the multitude of scraches and dents in the finish. If you want to buy this type of guitar don't get the sparckle finish it's to easy to dent. The only other thing is the volume control knob was loose. I quickly fixed that and just put a flat head screw driver in between the hole and pushed down to split the apart.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This is my main guitar i play it live and practice. But i learned the hard way that floating floyds can speal disaster when strings are broken. So now i carry a back up guitar with me every were. The only hardware problem i have is on the 2 string saddle there is a wear that always seems to cut my string at the same place i just use a file to remove it but i thing the metal is to soft. i might have to change that little thing but other that that it's ok.
I know that i can depend on it when the strings are brand spanking new. I can pull the bar up 2 steps and it'll sound off the wall.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them my music store had everything i needed.
Anyways the guitar is almost 14 years old i think the warranty is over.
But i would not have to ask them i'm a very good guitar tech i learned everything i know on this guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
i've been playing guitar for over 11 years now. I've owned a fender 666 guitar that was made only for like 5 months and sold it to my bro.
i owned a couple of other no name guitars that were all spared for parts. I have a classical yamaha guitar and i own a ibanez 7 string gio wich is my backup guitar.
if it were stolen or lost i would probably cry my ass off. This is my first guitar and i did everything with it. my favorite thing on this guitar is the pickups you would think after 14 years of playin the would die out but not the case. the out play any seymour or dimarzio pick up out there.

And it you would like a good guitar thats is almost identical to the jem series guitar buy a rg570 it's almost half the price and it's as good quality as those 1500 dollar guitars

Oooh, a chance to wax lyrical about my favourite guitar. Love it to bits. Bought it in 1991, I used to have a Roadstar II which I liked. The RG570 second hand even then, so it must have been one of the first in Australia. Midnight Blue, crazy hot pink humbucker at the bridge (never been able to figure out what model it was), S1 simgle coil in the middle, and V1 at the neck. Ibanez Floyd Rose I used to have a Gallien Kruger 2100 amp with blue and pink stripes that matched (this WAS coming out of eighties, after all). Other than that pretty standard RG.

Sound : 9
This is the fun bit. I angsted over sound for years. I had a Strat I regret selling, a '65 Epiphone Wilshire, an Ibanez A40 hollowbody. I ended up really poor with only the RG570 left. When I got money again I thought about selling it because I thought the sound was too neutral. The guy in the shop told me I was nuts, this was one of the most versatile-sounding guitars ever made. I took his advice and I'm glad I did. I'm running it through a Marshall 9001 valve preamp into an original 65 Fender Bassman 50 Watt Blackface with a 2x12 cab. I also use a Boss ME-30 and a Dual Overdrive sometimes. It was all a matter of learning to use the pickups and volume settings on the guitar properly. It'll never really sound like a Strat, it's but closer to a Les Paul, but now I've got my own sound going I don't care.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Well made indeed. Love Ibanez. The neck's wide and flat and superfast, I treat it with lemon oil. The only faster neck I've played (never having been able to bring myself to try out things like PRS' in a shop) was a Gibson SG90.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I don't have much use for the Floyd Rose, I like to bend two strings at once so I chocked the bridge underneath behind the springs. I left three springs in for resonance, and it's rock solid action and tuning wise given I hit the strings pretty hard. The extra resonance has helped me squeeze strat-ish sounds out using the middle pickup. It's lacquer is still great despite years of hard work. After 10 years the only things need fixing are disrty contacts in the pickup selector and one of the pickup mountings came adrist when one of my kids attacked it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them. Love Ibanez tho.

Overall Rating : 10
The only other guitar I have (I play trombone and bass as well) is an old Profile Strat copy with Di Marzio's which sounds great but needs some work. The Ibanez I could never part with. The new ones look nice too. If you find one cheap second hand, go for it.

This guitar has 24 jumbo frets, Wizard neck, iron pewter finish, and an Edge Tremolo system (Floyd Rose licensed). It has a H/S/H pickup configuration with a 5-way selector switch.

Sound : 8
This guitar is pretty versatile. I can rock hard with the bridge pick-ups, play some funky rhythm figures using the middle pick-up for single coils, and even get some mellow jazz tones with the neck pick-up.

There is just one tone and one volume control, and the light body tends to cut the sound fullness a little, but I can get around that by adjusting the amplifier. All in all, a good sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The finish may be kind of plain for some, but that doesn't bother me. At least the neck is fast and the action is adjustable. This guitar is relatively lightweight and is comfortable for both sitting and standing.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've had this guitar for two years, and it will last a while as long as the neck holds up in the ever-changing New England weather. That was a big problem with my last guitar, but that's another story. This guitar should be all right as long as I keep the guitar in case when I'm not playing. The finish is solid and the strap buttons seem very reliable.

I'll have to use a backup only because if a string breaks, it will throw the rest of the guitar out of tune. But the guitar stays in tune really well.

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A. I've only dealt with the dealer for an occasional setup.

Overall Rating : 9
Any electric guitar is a good guitar as long as it plays well and stays in tune, two of the strongpoints on the RG570. It also has a good sound. Reasonably priced. I tried a Fender Strat and couldn't justify paying an additional $250 for that.

This guitar has all the features I need. 24 fret Wizard neck, H-S-H, Edge Floyd Rose Bridge. One tone, One volume knobs.

Sound : 8
Sounds Awesome. It can de used for basiclly any kind of music. The bridge pickup sounds excellent. Great for leads. The single coil however is not up to par with the humbuckers. It's even hard to get a good bluesy sound out of it. The neck pichup is great or rythmn and jazz playing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I've actully gone through two of these guitars. The one I have now is great with action fit and finish. No problems. However the first one I had I bought when I was still fairly new to guitars. Since I wasn't very observent I didn't notice that the bridge was put in crooked. That caused a whole bunch of problems to the guitar. But otherwise they're fine.

Reliability/Durability : 5
These guitars a fairly durable. I've never dropped mine or anything like that so I'm not sure if they can with stand heavy impacts. However they hold up to every day use pretty well. I've had this one for about a year and things are starting to fall off. The string saddles on the bridge come loose and that bar right behind the nut came loose too.

Customer Support : 1
Ibanez's are great as long you don't have any problems. The first one I had, had to be sent back three times and I was without it for about 4 months altogether. I was never able to get any information from the music store (I don't shop there anymore) or Ibanez on what was going on. So there was really nothing I could do. It wasn't very fun.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing guitar for about 5 years. I run this guitar through a Bad Horsie Wah into a Carvin Legacy Combo. Sometimes I go through a Boss GT-3. Sounds great. If it were stolen or lost I probably would give it up. I haven't had a great experience with Ibanez. I'd probably get a Parker,Jackson,Hamer,or Fernandes. However the bridge on this guitar is amazing. I haven't played Jem's to much or any other real nice Floyd Roses, but I've never had to complain about it. Except for the fact it's falling apart. Part of the reason I choose this guitar is because I was quite sure what the quality was and I didn't research guitars enough before I bought it. A tip to anyone buying a guitar like this: Try every type of guitar out there. Try every brand out there. And don't listen to what anyone says about it. If they say it sucks, go play it and find out for yourself. You might end up loving it. Because you don't want to be stuck with a guitar you don't love. (Trust me, I know.)

This is your standard Ibanez RG570, mine's the 2000 model, cam with about 5 allan keys and and everything else you'd ever need to make the standard adjustments on a guitar. It's got 1 tone and a volume control, and unlike some guitars the tone knob actually has a great effect on the sound (more on that later). I still have the stock pickups in it (V7, S1, V8) as i felt no need to change them. I really love the finish, it's a nice smooth silver colour. It's got an Ibanez Egde Locking Trem system, stays in tune pretty damn good, not quite as perfect as an original Floyd, but i don't really use it much, if i do a couple dives during a song it usually stays pretty much perfectly in tune, but if you press the whammy down full, and spring it back and forth for a dramatic ending for 30 seconds you'll need to make some fine adjustments. But the main reason I bought this guitar is because of the Wizard neck, i couldn't settle with the wizard II on a lower model, i had to have the wizard. The neck is paper thin, a shredder's dream, and if you've ever got hand cramps from playing too long, say good bye to them. Ibanez makes the best necks if you like em thin.

Sound : 10
I play mostly hard rock and metal, deftones, sevendust, finger eleven, old school pumpkins (best band on the planet) and it works great for my style. I run it through a Boss TU-2 Tuner, Crybaby Wah Pedal, Boss BF-2 Flanger, EH Small Stone Phaser, Boss RV-3 Reverb/Delay, and finally a DOD Ice Box Chorus, then it goes into my Peavey 5150 Half Stack. You can get some great tones out of this guitar, with distortion the V7 really makes the harmonics sing, and it has a nice edge to it, i keep the ton rolled back a little bit and it's perfect there. The tone knob and the pickups in combination can get you almost any sound you'd want from a guitar, from bright picking sounds (no quite twangy like a tele though), to low muddy almost undistinguishable sounds. You can get a huge variety of tones on a clean setting, but not nearly as noticable with distortion on, but that's ok cuz you it sounds great, switching pickups will give you a good change between rhythm and lead sounds. The neck is great, but of course with the thin neck you trade off sustain, but when you got your amp turned up do really want a chord to fade out for a whole friggin minute?

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action when i got it was pretty good as I remember, but I kinda tuned it down and changed the strings soon as I got home. Changing tunings or strings gauges with a floating bridge is living hell I must say, it can take up to 2 hours. But the thing's great once you get it in tune and you're never gonna change it again. The finish looks nice, but I found a chip 2 days after I got it, I don't know when it happened or how it happened, it handn't even left my home yet, but oh well, it was on the back of the bottom horn, seeing as how pointy the ibanez horns are it was a vulnerable spot, i should've watched it a little better I guess. Then I found another one on the back of the guitar the other day, did nothing to it that should've chipped it, I think mine's got a cheap finish on it, i gotta go get some touch up paint. But once again, the finish looks great (Love the way it looks), but it's fragile, take care of it.

Reliability/Durability : 8
It's Ibanez, of course it's gonna last, one thing you know about the big companies is that they're reliable, brans like fender, gibson, PRS, and Ibanez have been trusted for years, and for a good reason. The endpins on Ibanez guitars is what I really love, I do alot of moving around and jumping, and both Ibanez's I own have big knobby end pins to hold the strap on, jumping stretches out the strap, with smaller end pins (I.e. Fender) the straps only last a couple months then they keep falling off, Ibanez has great end pins. But the finish again isn't very reliable `;(

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, read another review, most likely very good people to uphold their reputation.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall there is no guitar I'd rather have (I havn't played a PRS yet though), that's because I LOVE the neck, and it looks pretty damn cool too, and It's very light weight(But not as light as my 540S). When I first got it I tuned down and I got a messed up warbling sound, i had no idea what it was, then I found out it was the fact that I was tuning my light gauge strings too low (a 46 to C#), I had to get it professionally set up with some 10-52's because the guitar couldn't handle that heavy of strings, but after that it was perfect. A great guitar, pricey for a 16 year old like me though, but well worth it.

Nothing special about this guitar, as far as features go, it has a floyd rose trem. on it. 5 way pick up selector two humbuckers and a single coil.

Sound : 9
The sound of this guitar is great! I play everything from bluegrass to heavy metal, and this guitar handles it all beautifully. Although I did find the neck humbucker to be a bit muddy, so I put the bridge pickup in the neck, and had a dimarzio fred put in the bridge. The single coil will give you great tones.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This guitar came ready to rock from the moment I bought it. It was set up almost perfectly. The bridge is very comfortable for swift picking, although can be a pain when changing strings! The action is comfortable, but easily adjusted with the floating neck.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have beat the living crap out of this guitar, and it still rocks. I move around a lot on stage, and it has very few scracthes and chips because it has a good hardy finish (but be careful because everything has a limit, and it will chip) I play often without bringing a backup. I have had this guitar for two and a half years, and have not had any problems.

Customer Support : 7
I'm not sure how long the waranty is on this guitar, but I didn't really need it. I have dealt with the company to order some extras for my other guitars, and they were very friendly, and moved as quickly as possible.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 5 years, and I have already been through a lot of gear. I am very picky with what I play, and tend to switch gear often, but I do not plan on selling this guitar any time soon. I really love it. I also play an Ibanez JS100 and a Jem 555 and while they are nice guitars, sometimes I just got to put them down and play my RG. It loves to be played, and I love to play it, if it were stolen I would probably cry... then go and buy a new one.

It made in Japan, I got it in a Second hand electrical applied shop for a very cheap price, the pick up has been changed to 3-way EMG pick up. The clour is dark blue with full of stratchs on the whole body and neck. It looks alright for start not very attractive colour nor shape... quite boring in fact! But started to like it after a while, it looks nice when it reflecting the light when sitting on the stage quietly.

Sound : 9
Since it has changed to EMG active pick up I must say it is so lound and powerful. I am using a Marshall VS30R, my amp just couldnt stand I think my amp will die for it coz the output is too big!
The tone is wram and bright.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action is nearly flawless, just abit too low I reckon. Becasue of it think neck, I always enjoy playing it. It allow u to become a super fast hand with the neck and the action. The hardware is alright.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I dropped the guitar before I performed on the stage, but it still stay in tune. I think this product will last until I die. I think the last owner didnt protect it at all with all the scratch and crack on the body, (even a cig. scar on it) but all the hardware work very very very good!

Customer Support : No Opinion
didnt deal with them at all

I've been playing guitar for 2 years, I owned one Washburn MG 70, one vester and ESP J4 bass and one ovation viper.
If someone like to play metal or enjoy low action with smooth and thin neck. I strongly suggest u buy it.
The think I like the most is it neck. it is more than awesome! It just give lots of inspiration with it. Since my Washburn has a super thick neck, I enjoy to swapping these two guitar when I feel tried to for what I play.
If it were stolen I think I wont buy it again coz it is abit over price with those pick up.

Think mine is around a 91' model, got it in 92' new and it still sounds great. Pretty much standard all the way, except a replaced volume pot and duncan SD in the bridge.

Sound : 9
The sound is great, I wasn't real impressed with the original and since I rarely use the neck or single coil I only felt the need to replace the bridge pickup. It's been so long since I got it I don't remember the originl setup, but I know it holds my setup great. I play with an extremely low action, and it never buzzes. Tuning, well it is a chore to get it right, but once it's in... it's in for a long time. Just make sure to thoroughly stretch the strings before lockin it down.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The body was in perfect condition when I got it, and remained that way for many years. I have dropped that thing more times than I can count. Off the stage before, onto concrete floors.. you name it and I have dropped it on it. And the only thing I have managed to do to it was take a small chip of paint off the tip of the headstock. No scratches, dents, or anything else on the entire body. Neck is still lightning fast after 10 years playin it. Intonation holds fairly well, I usually have it set again every 6 months to a year. Overall a very reliable guitar. I have gigged without a backup before, tho not the smartest thing it was all I had at the time.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Guitar is great, I'll have this guitar until I die. I bet it'll still have a great finish too.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, doubt I ever will.

Overall Rating : 10
Over all this has been one of my favorite purchases. Would I buy another one? Probably not because this thing will outlive me. I play it thru a Single Rec, 4x12 Mesa, and a G-Force and it sounds great. If it was stolen I would definitely hunt them down. I don't want another one, I am perfectly happy with this one.

This guitar was made in Japan in probably like the year 2000. It sat in the guitar shop about a year before I actually bought it. Of course, as you should know already it has the 24 frets, an orignal Ibanez edge tremelo, (basically the same as an original floyd rose). Its got a wizard neck and its color is sour apple sparkle. It comes equipped with the H/S/H pickup configuration with a 5 way pickup selector. 1 volume knob and 1 tone knob. I believe it has jumbo frets and regular dot inlays. Nothing real fancy. I'll have to give this thing a 10 because it has capabilities. Thats why I got it.

Sound : 6
Well to be honest the stock pickups suck compared to others I have heard. Here is how I would describe the sounds with each pick up selection. Starting at the bridge. The bridge humbucker really doesn't have that full sound like a gibson. It sounds vintage but you can tell the diffence. The second position brings on a weak twangy telecaster sound. The 3rd position is a bit fuller, but a buzzing nucensce is audible...whatta pisser. It sounds good with a clean tone w/ some reverb. Selection 4 is a bit darker, I never really use this selection. I have no comment on it really. The neck humbucker, position 5 is bassy, but it still sucks. These pickups are too thin sounding to me. I am sure with the right setup you could get a descent tone out of em. I do right now with my Marshall, but the pickups are gonna go sooner or later. I want to put a Paul Reed Smith HFS in the bridge, Stevie Ray Vaughn's middle pickup in the single coil slot and another PRS rhythm pickup in the Neck (not real sure yet though). PRS tone is what floats my boat, wheather that is attainable with this guitar i have yet to find out because i don't know that much about changing the pickups. I just have ideas. If the PRS route fails i am definitely getting a seymour duncan JB in the bridge and other seymour duncans to go in the other slots. I am still debating and haven't yet to find out anything. With the idiots at the guitar shop that I do my business working on this thing it'll probably sound like shit because they are dumb as hell and their repair man is a former herion junkie (he has no teeth). I am giving this a stock rating though based on the stock pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I have no idea how this thing was set up from the factory. All I know is that i have to use .10 - .46 guage string on this thing. They are the only ones that don't buzz. These strings handle detuning also. But thas just what i know about mine. I like using 10's though. They aren't too small. Ovarall this thing has a badass action. The finish is damn good on my guitar...I've hit it a few good times with screw driver and an allen wrench and it didn't do shit to the finish. The finish looks brand damn new.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This thing could be used live i guess....I holds tune really good. I played it for 3 weeks or so a full step down and checked it and it was still there. Thats damn good if you ask me. Occasionally it will come out of tune every now in then, but there is a reason for that. Usually I have too much coil tension. Oh yeah, I wouldn't recommend someone getting a guitar with a Floyd Rose(original or liscensed) if you are impatient. It will piss you off. It is a bitch to tune. Luckily I know a lot about string tension to where I can get it in tune rather quickly. I had to start somewhere and somewhere used to be like 2 hours of hard time to put in to tune this bitch. Once its there it stays, unless you have too much coil tension.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I wouldn't know about the customer support. Don't really give a shit about em. I am going to make their guitar sound baddass with PRS pickups. And don't dis me for doing that either. I don't want to spend 1500 dollars for a low line PRS when i can have all of this done to mine for under a 1000 (including the price of the guitar). Oh well.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 2 years. I have a 150 watt Marshall AVT 2000. I am not afraid to experiment on the digital side either. My next purchase will be one of those digitech Genetex3 processors. Maybe this guitar will sound good going through that. I'll let you know. I have played this thing through a Johnson Mellinium 150. With the volume at about 3 and on the Mesa/boogie rectified setting it sounded badass.......but if digital ain't your thang don't do it. It sounded alright through an all tube Marshall. I really don't want to fuck with tubes though....sure my amp has a tube in it, but hell thas just one tube.....not 8....oh well....i don't care about tubes, maybe you do, if you do go for it......

I don't have to go into detail about what it has. You already know. To make a long story short. Yes, you always need a backup guitar. No, the pickups don't suck, you are tone deficit. I've been playing for 15 years. I have an Ibanez RG570 with some great pickups in them. I kept the s1, because I don't use it. the v7 and 8 were great, but didn't suit my personal needs, I go for the expensive shit. I have a whole lineup of 570's. Most of them with DiMarzio DS100 pickups. I love the overtone. This guitar is HOT! The neck feels like I can shred up hours worth of solos and play years worth of rhythms. Don't accept any crap from anyone. Ibanez is a Japanese company, yes, but some people have no ear for tone, so they rated "Ibanez" the sucky company. All I have to say is "get your head out of your ass and eat my dust." I'll shred you all to hell! Ibanez doesn't suck, but if you really think that you can go right on up to Joe Satriani (yes, he IS your daddy) and Steve Vai, and Noodles of the Offspring, and John Pettruchi (crappy spelling), and George Benson, and many other great guitarists, (for all you new age/old school rockers) Korn, Pennywise, System of a Down, Godsmack, and MANY other bands... go tell THEM it sucks, then listen to them play. (be sure to bring a towel to dry the piss off your pants. This guitar will send your balls to the wall!

Who needs it? Are you going to call and complain that a cable was not the right color? Ibanez doesn't have customer support because... THEY DON'T NEED CUSTOMER SUPPORT, if you're going to f*ck up your guitar, you're better off with a Fender Standard Mexican Strat, if you're stupid enough to buy anything but an Ibanez.

Don't know the year, Japanese made, H-S-H, 24 fret, Floyd Rose. My Ibanez was lost in the basement of a music store. When the music store went under, they needed help cleaning out the basement (which use to be a small studio) I was good friends with the guys who worked there so I lended a hand. We found all kinds of great stuff, including this amazing Ibanez. It is a white finish, and had the crap beat out of it. The guitar besides being chipped and dented is all original. A versitiel guitar. Remember, this one is probally 10 to 15
years old

Sound : 10
This is the best guitar I have ever owned. It has great sustain, and stays in amazing tune. This one looks like it's been through hell, but keeps coming back for more. This was when Ibanez "made" guitars.
Can scream metal or clean up real nice.

When we found it, it was in it's hardshell behind a huge pile of empty cardbord boxes. Besids a little rust it was o.k. Some new strings and a set-up it is fantastic.

I have the standard 570, mostly same config as all the other reviews.
My 570 is finished in a sparkly green that really catches the eye.

Sound : 9
My music style is mostly metal (speed, thrash, death) but I also play blues, southern rock, classic rock, and classical, among others. I just got myself a Boss ME-30 (you gotta try one!) and am playing on an old Gorilla GG-80 amp. I love the tonal diversity that I get with this guitar, through pickup combo's and such. The sound quality is definitely superior on this guitar. If I have to complain, I would say the sustain isn't the greatest, which surprises me considering the quality of wood used. That may also be this old gorilla amp I'm using. The ME-30 has definitely satiated my need for sustain, though!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This is a category where I am not an expert. My guitar's action, etc... are well suited to my playing styles, but I believe they could be better. I bought it used. It was a floor model, so it took plenty of abuse, but still looks, sounds, and plays great. One thing that drives me nuts is the G-string. When played open, or at the 5th harm. or 12th harm. there is a buzz from deep within the guitar, that I just can't find. you can't hear it through the amp. I think it must be a pickup spring or something like that. I have seated all the loose parts on the outside of the guitar, and the tremolo springs, but can't get it quiet. Guess that's what I get for getting a floor model...

Reliability/Durability : 10
There is no doubt in my mind as to the reliability and durability of this guitar.

Bought mine used. Couldn't take advantage of this.

I have been playing for 15 years. I own a Yamaha SE 150 elect. guitar, a Lotus Dreadnought acoustic, A Gorilla GG-80 amp, A Peavey Backstage 30 amp, A Boss XT-2 XTorsion (distortion) pedal, A Boss Me-30 Multi-effects pedal, A Rocktron Half-rack Distortion gate, and a generic (Kasino?) chorus pedal.
If I lost my RG570, I would be heart-broken. Don't know that I would get another RG570, but I would definitely get another Ibanez.

This Ibanez RG 570 is Gray Nickel, it has 24 frets and the pickup configuration is H-S-H, the pickups are Ibanez V7 on the Neck, S1 and V8 on the Bridge.
The controls are very ease to access and they work perfectly, i love the way the volume control and the tone control are, they just fit perfectly; it has 24 frets and they all are very easy to access, it has a Floyd Rose Edge Bridge and i think it works awesome.

Sound : 10
It fits my music style perfectly, if there is something that i LOVE about this bad boy is that it's 100% Versatile, i like to play some heavy metal stuff, but i also enjoy clean jazzy tones, and this guitar just makes them sound perfect! You can get a totally clean sound with the original pickups, when i bought it i was going to change the pickups for some DiMarzio's, but as of now i am very pleased with the original ones.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The factory set-up was awesome, i didn't even had to worry about it. I took it to a technician and he has just amazed by how well adjusted it was, the pickups, the bridge, the neck, everything was just in the right place. The painting job is excelent too, it still shines and it really looks good!

At first glance, you'd think "wow, this guitar has a lot of features!" Well, it does have a lot of features, but it's the quality of those features that make it a mistake. But, for the sake of the features section, it has 3 pickups (hum single hum), a 5-way selector, a basswood body, an Edge tremolo, a Wizard neck, 24 frets, all-access neck joint, the works. I'll dig into all of these later, but, hey, what the hell, hoo-rah, it has features. Um...10.

Sound : 5
My musical style is fairly diverse. I love listening to jazz, I like some classic rock sounds, I dig some blues, love classical, progressive, fusion, and even some modern rock and pop. I would say that this guitar suits some of my needs, but not most. For the sake of progressive and instrumental rock, it has what has become the standards-humbucking pickups, jumbo frets, you know. But the overall sound of the guitar is incredibly bright, sometimes too bright, even with the rosewood fingerboard and the humbuckers. This can grow tiresome, especially if you plan on playing anything really jazzy. I'm not asking for an archtop, but we could use a little more meat here.

I'm running it through a (forgive me) Fender Princeton Chorus, but I've heard it through others. I've played it through a 5150II once, and it still had it's boring little personality. Don't get me wrong, it's got good sounds at certain spots, but it needs work.

Likes and dislikes: I like the half-volume, 70% tone setting with some gain. This gives a really interesting, ballad texture lead tone.

Dislikes: Those lousy V7, V8, and S1 pickups. They just don't cut it. They want to be good pickups, but they can't!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
The guitar was set up pretty crappy from the factory, and I'm told that this is pretty standard with Ibanez. The trem was set WAY too low, and it was buzzing just about anywhere. The trem angle was off as well. The pickups weren't adjusted well either, and I had to tweak them a while to get a nice, balanced sound. They were WAY too high, and the midrange was just taking over.

I suppose the top was nice, a metallic purple style color. Really a nice finish, I kind of like it, that's why I'm going to fix the guitar instead of scrap it.

Ah, a question regarding poor quality wood? Let's talk about that nice little Wizard neck. Many people gripe about this guitar not holding good tune, and here lies the source of all of their woes. Go ahead and try an Edge on any high quality axe (like a JEM or a JS) and you'll have wonderful tuning stability. But due to crappy woods and the lower neck mass of the Wizards, you get nothing. Any pitch-lowering will throw you out of wack, and forget about raising the pitch. If you want to pull up the trem on this axe, be prepared to unclamp and retune.

Reliability/Durability : 2
I doubt this guitar would survive very rigorous gigging. Like I said, you won't be able to hold tune very long, so have a few backups (in fact, if you have a few backups, sell them and this piece of trash and get a JS or JEM). I don't think the hardware will last very long, I have to work on it every month. I think the finish will last, it's been withstanding my sweat for over a year now.

The strap buttons are actually pretty solid!

No, I cannot depend on this.

Definately need a backup.

Customer Support : 3
I honestly hate Ibanez customer support. Why should I have to see my authorized Ibanez dealer to have things done? What about people without Ibanez dealers close by? They need to kick this up a few notches.

Overall Rating : 3
I've been playing for 3 years now, and feel free to scoff. But I think serious players will agree with most of my review, this instrument is purely terrible. With the price you'd pay fixing it up, you could've had yourself a brand new JEM7DBK, or if you saved a little more, maybe even a 7VWH, which are far superior instruments which you won't have any problems with.

I don't wish I'd have asked anything before buying this, I just wish I'd have been more experienced.

If it were stolen or lost, I'd probably save up for another Carvin.

My favorite feature is probably the 24 frets. I just love having that range.

Unfortunately, I didn't compare it to many other axes in the store, I just had my mind set on the 570. I wish it had a better neck and better pickups, and I'd probably like it a lot better.

It came with v7/s1/v8 but i replaced with EMG's, which are active, not sure of body wood, fingercoard is rosewood, of cousre it is the rg body style and it has a recessed edge tremelo (very nice, no tuning problems) gotoh tuners w/ locking nut, it also has a super thin wizard neck

Made in Japan - 24 fret - H/S/H - 1 Vol, 1 Tone, 5-way Switch - Basswood Body, Rosewood Fingerboard - Superstrat all access body - Edge tremolo - Gotoh Tuners w/ Locking Nut - WIZARD neck - Iron Pewter paint on body, all hardware done in beautiful black chrome

Sound : 8
Versatile guitar, but does it's best work playing heavy stuff - I'm using a Line 6 Flextone II, and the two make a good couple no doubt - when distorted, I like the bridge pickup all by itself, but when playing clean sounds, try the other switch positions for some interesting tones - the factory pickups are 'ok', but in my opinion, this guitar deserves better and I am going to replace them before long - this axe has a nice tone, and the factory setup was even adequate(allthough I intend to lower the action) - while this guitar is by no means all things to all people, it has a tremendous capacity for hard rock and metal, and it's passable on some other styles as well - part of its 'passability' is that it is easy to play due to the style of the neck and body

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Factory setup was totally playable, some will want to lower the action further though - from the factory, the floating bridge was positioned properly and the tuning holds despite my attempts to rough up the tremolo - I have yet to find any flaws in construction, and from what I can tell, the Japan made Ibanez guitars put the Korean ones to shame - no offense to those who own Korean models =) let me just say that pound for pound, the Japanese construct a superior product to the Korean made Ibanez models(570 v. 470) - once you play a 570, you'll never be satisfied with taking the 470 home, it's that simple - handle this guitar with care though, not because it will fall apart, but the cosmetics are fragile - I barely bumped the headstock and I have a nice little chip/dent already - just mind the paint and such and you'll be fine

Reliability/Durability : 7
I already mentioned the fragile cosmetics, the guitar itself though seems quite solid - my strap buttons took a rogorous beating already without so much as a flinch - you can almost hold the guitar by the whammy and it always goes right back into tune without any problems whatsoever - the hardware is beautiful to look at, and my guess is, it will last at least as long as you would expect(if not longer) - I don't gig right now, but I would play this guitar live with no hesitation - a backup is essential though for more reasons than one, but only one reason has to do with the guitar itself - this is a nice Floyd Rose bridge, but if you break a string on stage, you be bummin see? - changing strings on this guitar is a more involved process than on some other guitars, so do yourself a favor, have a backup while someone else restrings your main axe - other than that, I'd say this guitar will get you through any gig with no problems - also, word to the wise...NEVER EVER take off all strings at once when changing them all - start with the high E and change them out one by one while retuning along the way =)

Customer Support : 8
Never used their support - I'm giving an 8 because any company who makes a guitar this nice can't be all that bad

even if their support totally sucked, the product itself would still get high marks from me, I like this guitar a lot

Overall Rating : 9
I love everything about this guitar except for:

- stock pickups are ok, but some hot aftermarket pickups would really do it some justice
- thought the construction is solid, the finish is fragile

Some of my favorite things are:
- the Iron Pewter finish is very nice
- the hardware looks great
- the neck is easy to play and all access is granted
- crazy mad bends, divebombs, harmonics, you name it!

If this guitar were stolen or lost, I would definitely buy it again

made in 2000. japan. yeah you guessed, PIECE OF SHIT. 24 giant frets. h/s/h configuration. v7,s1,v8. basswood body. maple neck and rosewood fretboard. colors: sour apple and grey nickle. i had both and both were pieces of shit. went out of tune everytime i used the tremolo. i'm returning the one i just got to get a fender deluxe powerhouse strat. the only reason so many people get these are because so many popular artists use the, korn, limp bizkit, staind and so on. nothing included. nice neck though. thin. really thin. whatever happens don't get one of these. if you do get a late 80's early 90's model. those are nice.i'm lucky guitar center is letting me return this so many times. I thank them alot. temolo is nice but to bad it doesn't stay in tune.

Sound : 6
nice sound except the single pickup. noisy as all hell. I play ska, metal, punk, and others. the humbuckers are nice for these.i use a fender frontman with reverb. nice amp.with a dod death metal distortion and dunlop origianl crybaby wah. cool sound effects. you can make alot with the floyd rose.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
shitty set up. action way to low. buzzes like crazy. pickups seem loose and wobble a lot. the grey finsih is cool.bridge was set up ok. the ibanez logo on the head stock is sopposed to be like a mirror but has some wierd color.

Reliability/Durability : 7
i don't play to many gigs. nice hardwear. finish seems shitty and about to chip or wear off.nice strap buttons. extral big. no stap lock needed. strings break way to easy so iw ould always use a backup.

Customer Support : 2
i emailed them about the tuning problem and i've gotten no reasponse after about 2 weeks. still havn't. i give them a 2 for atleast having it.

this is a stupid category. if you read the whole thing you'll know the over all rating. i'm tires of typing so i'll make it quick. don't get it. it sucks. it is a piece of shit. it is worthless and you should pay about 2 cents for these. i have no clue why people like these so much. i thought i was getting a good deal but i guess not. i would never buy guitar again/ i'm never going to buy another ibanez product in my life.

This thing rock better than any other guitar I have.
I put a s.duncan in the bridge (trembucker).
My best guitar! Old blue rocks better than my strat or Jackson dink.
I can squeal or growl with this puppy.

Action was too high from the shop. Had to lower a bit.
Other than that,no problems.

Paint is chipping, but I have beat the hell out of this thing for 10 years!! Trem is holding up great. Had to resolder a new jack in but that is fine for a old axe. I never gig without a backup, but if I had to pick one guitar, it would be my old blue.

Not very good. I needed a neck for a rg 550 and could only go through

this guitar was made in 1990, japan , all black (perfect metal look), black hardware, floyd rose lincenced floating bridge, locking trem, gotoh tuners, v1, si, v2 HsH, pickups, volume and tone controls, jumbo frets, rosewood fretboard,

this suits my style well, which is metal when playing this guitar, i also have a mecxian fender strat, so it shits all over that in this field, it is pretty noisy, but i put it through a shit load of volume and dist, i use a DOD grunge, with an adaptor put up to 12 volts, an ibanez flanger, and a peavy 80 watt Bandit 112, and it burns on that setting, i should add that i tune it down 2.5 steps and drop B, 52 - 10 gauge strings, and it manages this setting extremly well

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
pickups, action was pretty good, strings buzzed and bridge and to re-set up for the heavier guage, but that was fixed when i got it serviced, this guitar is also very easy to play, does weigh a bit, but not to much, looks great and feels great to play,

Reliability/Durability : 8
its made in 1990 so its around 10 - 11 years old, and i got it second hand, its in pretty good condition too, the "ibanez" logo came off in some places so i had to re- paint it, knobs are loose and the volume came off, locking nuts have a little rust, but thats just cause the dick that owned it before me never played it and just left it to gather dust and debree.its strong and i would use it live, a back up i think would be needed just in case

It's the 2000 model, made in Japan. Pickup config: H/S/H It's got an Ibanez V8 in the bridge, a V7 in the neck, and an S7 single-coil in the middle. The pickups are passive.
The body is basswood, and the fingerboard is rosewood. The neck is an original Wizard neck made of maple with a strip of bubagina (spelling?) in the centre.
The finish is IP (iron-pewter) which basically looks like a sparkling black colour. The body style is similar to the KH-II ESP guitar.
The bridge is an Ibanez Edge tremolo. Tuners are Gotoh SG-38 die cast tuners.
It came with a couple instruction manuals and a bag of allen keys.

Sound : 9
The sound definitely suits my musical style (metal, industrial)
I'm currently running it through a 10 watt Ross combo and a Peavy Mynx bass amp. I use a Boss Metalzone for distortion and a Boss ME-30 for effects. I find that it gives off minimal noise while not playing even with distortion cranked up. The sound is very devestating with distortion, and if you fiddle with the volume and pickup selector you can get a more vintage strat sound as well. The sound is very versatile. Harmonics are easy to pull off as well.
I like everything about the sound, although I think EMG-81s would make this guitar absolutely perfect.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was set up decent, but definitely needs some adjustment. The tension on the tremolo seems to be too little, in that the string tension is pulling it up a little too much. Nothing major though.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I'm treating this guitar as if it was made of glass, because I've heard it scratches very easily...

I've been playing guitar for 7 years and own two other guitars. One being a Yamaha SE112 and the other being a G&L strat copy.
If it were stolen or lost I'd buy it again.
I love pretty much everything about this guitar, it's gorgeous.
I compared this guitar to the RG470 and decided to go with this one because of the finish, the extra strip of wood in the neck and the Edge Tremolo. I wish the guitar had EMG 81's in it.
This guitar plays like a dream, and actually makes playing easier, as opposed to a strat-style guitar. Very well designed, I can tell Ibanez put a lot of work into this aspect of the guitar.

I just bought this guitar! Its a 2000 model so its brand spankin new, it was made in japan. It has 24 jumbo frets, the finish is kinda thin ive heard so i think ill be paying attetion to that. The guitar also has one tone and one volume control,5 way selector,H-S-H pickup config.,the pickups are a bridge v8 a middle s1 and a neck v7 these pickups are outstanding!!!The body is great as well, nice feel super thin neck for fast playing! Its got a liscensed EDGE floyd rose on it and a locking nut so once you tune it you rarely have to tune it up again unless you play constantly.I got a good discount on a case that was marked 150 and i got it for 85 not that big of a deal but it helped a bit.

Sound : 10
AWESOME SOUND!!!!!I play anything from punk to heavy metal especially old metallica and this guitar is perfect for that! Right now i have no amp i have this little crappy pocket amp that i use witha pair of head phones so i cant tell you much on the sounds from different amps. Although i did play it on a mesa boogie when i bought it and a nice little peavey and it sounded great on those! The guitar has no noise what so ever and even on the tiny pocket amp i ahve it makes no noise and that little amp is old and the wiring is kinda faulty so that means this guiatr has no noise at all whic is good. The guitar has a real lively sound full of deep rich sounds to high bright sounds its very versatile in sound.I love distortion so when i played on the mes boogie and the peavey naturally i selected those soudn settings and it was awesome it, but all i cna say is that the guitar sounds great any way you make it sound so its very workable.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Great set-up no problems.Pick ups were perfect when i got the guitar and havent given me trouble yet.Everything looked nice on the guitar it was all set up really well.Although ive heard about those finish complaints so im gonna watch for that and if worse comes to worse ill just get it repainted and refinished with something more durable.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is built like a titanium bomb shelter it will withstand anything so i dont have to worry about damaging it excpet for the damn finish.Starp buttons feel like they were niled on there and then melted directly to the guitar i feel confident about using a strap on it.So far this guitar ios real dependable, i dont gig so i cnat say mcuh about that.

If iot were stolen id kill the person that stole it and then buy a new one so that i could have 2 guitars! I compared this guitar to an ESP-M-100 AND M-200,and this guitar was far superior i also played a few of the other cheaper ibanez rg's and this one kicked their ass so im happy with this purchase! In fatc i was even impressed by the color which was called sour apple sparkle but it really looks more like a greenish gold or champagne color so i like the guitar its awesome i recommend it!!

RG570 in Gray Nickel finish(pretty),'99 or 2000 model,Japanese,24 frets, basswood body, stock Ibanez humbuckers in the neck and bridge (v7 and v8, I believe), single coil (S1)in the middle. 5-way selector, 1 volume, 1 tone, licensed Floyd Rose double-locking EDGE tremolo, gunmetal hardware. Maple neck with a strip of Bubinga. Jumbo frets, rosewood fingerboard. Came with a couple small booklets about the Floyd, and a bag of allen wrenches.

I'm probably forgetting something, but I'm pretty sure someone else has me covered.

Very Standard stuff. The Edge tremolo beats the hell out of the Lo-TRS on the cheaper Ibanez guitars, though not as nice as the LO-PRO EDGE (JEM, Prestige editions only, I think).

If it weren't for the bridge being so nice, I would have rated it a 6.

Sound : 4
I play mostly heavier alternative rock. A lot of people like this guitar for metal, and that's why I bought it too.

I think the tone is very empty sounding. It doesn't really lack for bass or anything, it's just on the 'thin' side. Hard to describe, other than saying the sound is sterile. No life in the tone. Unfortunate setback considering how comfortable it is to play.

Pickups are garbage, at least on mine. They're stock, but still. The middle pickup is useless, and the guitar hisses on positions 2 through 4. Zero difference between the rhythm and treble settings. Disappointing.

Currently I use a Boss GT-3 and a Trademark 60 combo by Tech 21 (sweet). Like I said, the guitar hisses on 3 of the 5 positions, audible even through the headphone out on the GT-3. I have a cheap plywood Kramer 111s with 3 singles that makes less noise than the Ibanez. Sad.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Factory set-up left a little something to be desired. Strings were nice and low, which was good, but the low A and E buzzed like crazy from the 7th fret on down. Raised the action slightly and adjusted the truss rod, which eased the buzzing. Middle pickup was so high it interfered with playing. Otherwise okay.

Putting the first impression of the set-up aside, the neck plays great. Smooth. Not as nice as a Musicman Axis, but pretty damn slick. Too bad it sounded like crap.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Seems pretty solid. Banged it into a ceiling fan (!) and it didn't get a scratch. Neck is thin, but sturdy. I'm not worried. Never gig without a backup, teenage America.

I've been playing for 8 years now. I have a Gibson Les Paul, and a cheap ass Kramer Focus 111s that keeps surprising me. I was really disapointed in this guitar, especially considering I played one in the store and liked it before ordering one. I checked out some others too, including a RG520QS (same guitar minus the middle pickup), an S-series Prestige model, and some of the other lower end Ibanezia.

I've sent the guitar back for a refund, actually. Whether or not it was just a problem with the pickups/wiring (it was just so NOISY), I'm not getting another. Just don't like that Ibanez tone. I'm a Les Paul addict, though.

My advice: Hear any guitar you're interested in THROUGH YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT. If they have it at the store, great, otherwise bring in your own crap and get a REAL estimate of how that instrument's gonna be at home. Wish I had.

Ultimately, guitar's not terrible, neck feels good, but just not what I was looking for. And the pickups sucked.

Made in 1992. It is the year they came in cherry sunburst finish. H-S-H humbucker configuration. Very smooth and fast neck. Very slim. It definitely doesn't play like a gibson. Pickups are of high quality and put out as good as any on the market. Great tuners.

Sound : No Opinion
Can cover any sound but it really doesn't have its own sound. This is a great guitar. I can get rich sounds, smooth sounds, bright sounds, pretty much any sounds.

The japanese make the best cars, the best electronics, hey why not guitars too. This guitar is very well made. No dead frets and no buzzing strings. It is very clean sounding. The original finish is long gone. I had this guitar painted in a metallic green burst finish by a custom painter. It looks pretty good but the guy didn't really nail the color I wanted and I went through a lot of trouble.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
This guitar was my first electric. I have had it since 1992. I learned many of my first licks on this guitar and I will always keep it no matter what. I have played shows with it and it holds up very well but I am scared to death to play with out a backup. If one string breaks I am screwed because the whole guitar goes out of tune. This guitar has a floating trem which I don't really like but oh well. Anyway I have moved on to teles because they are simple and they suit my style. hell they suit almost any style with the right pickups and they are very comfortable. But like i said i will always keep the guitar because it was my first.

Made in 95 in Japan, NOT KOREA!!! Just to let you know if you are reading this and own an RG570 or are looking to buy one pay special attention to the details. There are a lot of people trying to pull off their RG470's and such as 570's. There is a difference!!!
The RG570 is made in "JAPAN".
It has the "bubgina strip" down the back of the neck.
It has the "REAL Original Wizzard" neck.
It has the "Edge" trem.
It has the "V7, S1, V8" pickups.
If your RG570 in question doesn't have all the above features than it well......isn't a 570.
Just thought I would let you know, I used to own an RG470 and the 570 is by far more superior. The neck and trem deffinitely are of higher quality.

Sound : 10
This guitar suits my style perfectly, which is blues to death metal crunch. I use it with several Marshall amps(6100, JCM 900, 1987X plexi RI)and a line6 pod. I have previously used it with a Mesa DC-3 and a Marshall JMP-1 and a Digitech GSP 2101. More recently I have used it with a Visaul Sound Jeckyl&Hyde pedal also. I haven't found this guitar to be noisy at all. The sound to me is very rich, full and agressive but can be sweet and buttery when the volume control is rolled back a bit. I think this guitar can make just about any desirable sound there is. Very versatile. Definitely the most versatile guitar I have ever played. I have owned several quality usa made strats and they just don't compare, the 570 sounds more like a "strat" than a strat does. Put the pickup selector in positions 2,4,or 5, roll back the volume a bit and can we say "and you paid how much for that Fender?" That's the nice side of this guitar, but this guitar is mean also. It can put out the most powerful crunch when ran straight into a Marshall 100 watt tube amp, Tone to the bone -in your face. This guitar can cover SRV to Sepultura.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar came setup with very low action. Not to my preference so I raised it some. The finish is very nice, no flaws whatsoeverafter.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I think this guitar could withstand a nuclear war. This thing is built like a tank. I have never owned a guitar this long without having to replace at least a pickup switch. It's been 5 years and it still is all original and works like it did the day I bought it. Every thing after 5 years has been very durable. I have banged this guitar against things so many times and it still looks like new. I would and have used this guitar without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed any.

its a great guitar...just try one out for yourself. its neck is ridiculously thin...very comfortable to play. the only downside is that the strings are spaced further apart...a tad too much for my liking, but thats not too big a deal. has an h-s-h pickup configuration and locking trem. this thing was built for metal. i use a dod fx7 for distortion and noise gating and with that alone you can get some real evil sounds. like everyone else said, though, break a string and your up a creek. definately bring a backup. thats the only reason i give it a 9 instead of 10.

Sound : 10
like i said, perfect for metal. it sounds great with distortion. i use the neck position almost 100% of the time, but when you go clean it sound isnt all that clear...kinda a little muddy. the second position though is great for clean parts if you have the ablility to quickly switch, something that im just too lazy to learn.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
the action is the best i ever played...but dont ever attempt to set this up yourself. dont even think about changing tunings by even a half step or your bridge will get real messed up (drop d type tunings the exception to this rule). even be careful with changing strings...its best to go 1 at a time where once its replaced, tune it...otherwise it will take forever for the bridge to readjust. finishes on this good...mines iron peweter which kind of looks like a metalic black.

Reliability/Durability : 10
when i play live i really let this thing have it, and it can definately take it. never goes out of tune no matter how hard you hit the strings (unless you break one). the most solid guitar ive ever played. my one gripe is the paint job...VERY THIN!!!! probably the worst ive ever seen. i once dropped an allen wrench accidently about 6 inches form it and the paint just flaked right off. ive also had numerous other paint chips. ive never chipped paint on any of my guitars except this one. i really dont care about cosmetics so i still give it a 10.

I play everything except country. This guitar doesn't cover any of them. Maybe if you're into noise. I'm using it with a Fender Stage 160 (GREAT solid state amp, go try it, now). It's awfully noisy. The humbuckers are too hot, not fat, and just plain muddy. The single coil is okay, not terrible. Most unversatile guitar I've ever tried. I hate it. I'd sell it, but I'll probably keep it for decoration.

This guitar has amazing action. When setup right. Out of the box it was not exactly a dream machine. The finish was well done but nothing special. My biggest complaint about the actual guitar was the sloppiness of the interior, it was and still is not done very well at all

As long as a string does not break your home free. Because of the tremelo if one string breaks they all go horribly out of tune. You could not even fake it if you had to. I'm giving it a six because of the string problem

First and foremost IBANEZ GUITARS ARE CHEAP PIECES OF SHIT, the hardware on this guitar seems like it was made of aluminum, it is that bad. What do you expect from a mass produced guitar from japan which is made by 5 year old japanese girls? The pickups are thin sounding, my single coil sized humbucker sounded thicker than these pickups! The body is cheap basswood (bad for tone) and some odd colored maple for the neck. The tuners are ok. But the finish is real real thin, be careful! And the neck is not one but TWO pieces of maple laminated together (cheap cheap) just look behind the 3rd or 4th fret.

Sound : 1
The sound of this guitar is the worse part, i have no idea why ibanez sells so many of these shitty guitars, they are crap. It sounds like a piece of plastic. I found it to make only one sound, the thin sound. Like a real bad strat copy. It is VERY NOISY even on low-gain settings.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
The frets on this guitar BUZZED like a jar of motherfuckin' bees! I raised the action up high just like how i likez it, and it still buzzed, and i even adjusted the truss rod, and it still had buzz on frets 1-5 like a mofo. The electronics were noisy on the pickup selector as well as the volume knob, not bad for a brand new guitar!

Reliability/Durability : 1
This guitar wouldnt last very long if you had to defend yourself with it, i dropped a little dinky boss pedal on it and it went right through the finish and put a nice 2inch long cut in the wood. So i dont think the durability is too good on it. Quite frankly i'm afraid its gonna fall apart.

If i could do one thing for this guitar it would be to sell it to some stupid young sap who likes ibanez guitars because of all the ad space they buy in magazines and all the no talent motherfuckers they pay to endorse their shitty guitars. It has 24 frets, Edge Tremelo,H-S-H pickup configuration, V8 V7 and S1, decent sounding pickups for being stock pickups. Neck is the Wizard neck, real thin, easy to play.Has locking nut, not sure what the tuning machines are, has five way selector switch. Body is basswood. There's really alot to play with on this guitar.

The guitar suits my style well, which is heavy rock/metal/alternative with some classic oldies and classic punk for good measure.I play the guitar through a Fender Super 60 rackmount head, and a handbuilt speaker cab with two 12 inch Eminence speakers. I plug into first my Boss metalzone, then into a DOD 7 band equalizer, then i run into a Digitech RP7 then into a DOD flanger then into the amp.The guitar is extremely quiet. It has a full rich sound. and can be very bright at the same time. You can coax a variety of sounds from the guitar.Im sure all the effects I use help in that department too, but isnt that the point of effects??? I dont really have any gripes.

The guitar was set up pretty well, the pickups were adjusted pretty good, but I had to tweak them anyways, to get the level of sound I wanted out of them. The guitar was/is in excellent condition. Nothing was loose or improperly adjusted or setup.

This guitar could withstand live playing. It is extremely rugged, and would more than likely hurt someone before it got hurt. The finish is great, I have yet to put a scratch, nick, or dent in it. The strap buttons are pretty secure. It's a dependable guitar, but I wouldnt gig without a backup guitar. It takes forever to change a string with the Edge tremolo, which is just like a Floyd Rose, one string breaks, the whole thing goes out of tune. thats my only complaint.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never dealt with Ibanez before. I have my own guitar techie that I go to. Hes actually a Luthier. He takes good care of my guitars.

I've been playing guitar for about 9 years now, and this is my favorite guitar. I own three others, and am always lookng to buy more guitars. I currently own along with the Ibanez a Fender Heartfield Talon IV, a BC Rich Warlock, and a Washburn Acoustic. My Ibanez is my favorite, I do most of my playing with it. If it were stolen or lost, I would definitely buy another one. I would like to see it come with maybe some EMG"s or Seymour Duncans, but the stock pickups are pretty nice in and of themselves. The guitar is cool.

I play prog rock, pop, blues, 80's metal, fusion and modern country mainly. It does all these better than any other guitar I've owned.(fenders, gibsons, kramers etc etc.) I play through mesa boogie and peavey amps. It is only noisy on the middle setting (single coil). It has a bright sound that cuts well. As I said it can do almost any sound that you use (for the styles I've mentioned). I would prefer less bright pickups with a little more fatness.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It wasn't bad. It needed a litle tweak to make it suit me (a little higher action). The only flaw is that the locking nut is fractionly off centre. If it cost more for the guitar I would be more concerned. It's a fraction of a millimetre. Otherwise, very good.

This is a very solid guitar. The hardware is wearing a little already (3 months old) but will definately last. The finish seems pretty durable. I Do gig without a backup. (Is this an American thing? All you guys surveys always ask this question. I've never used a backup ANYTHING on a gig. Who can afford it?).

I have been playing for 19 years. Professionly for 16 years. Currently I also have an Epiphone Les Paul, a Peavey Classic 50-410 and a Mesa Boogie Quad Preamp. (Among other stuff). I would probably buy it again if stolen or maybe a Yamaha Pacifica or Carvin. I love the neck, it's great to play. I basically chose this guitar after I had narrowed it down to 3. It had to have 24 frets, floyd, 2 humbuckers and a single coil (and I loved the color). The ibanez had all the features I wanted. And it sounds like ME when I play it. It really suits the way I play. I f I had a choice I would have had different pickups in it. I do like the ones in it, but I get the feeling I could do a little better with Seymours or something.
