Excellent sound quality. The five way switcher gives a very wide range of sounds to choose from, which will satisfy almost any player's tastes. A truly superior guitar.

This guitar is great. The clean and dirty tones I can get from this axe are excellent. I have been playing for 3 years and this is my third electric. I also own a Squire Strat (piece of shit) and an Ibanez RG220 (pretty good). I run these guitars into a Vox Wah, Boss Metal Zone, and Electro Harmonix Small Clone (the best chorus around).
The tones I get out of this guitar is amazing. Go try it - you'll buy it.

This geetar was made in '99 in Japan. It has the standard Ibanez 24 fret setup. its a solid top which helps contribute to its sound. This puppy has a H/H setup, with the new Ibanez Vintage 7 (neck) and 8 (bridge) pickups, with a single tone and volume, and the 5 way selector switch. It has the RG super-strat style body, with a lower cut, that allows easier access to the higher frets. Black hardware, black pickups, black body, black everything, black is all your gettin' (but it looks really good.) String through body setup, with locking grover tuners. A fat rosewood neck with jumbo frets, designed to accomidate the 7th string.

THIS THING SOUNDS GREAT!!!!!!!This guitar is great for any style (which is what i play). With a little effect tweaking you can get clean jazz tones or really low and heavy Korn-ish distortion. I play this axe through my Snarling Dogs Blue Bawls Wah, an Electro-Harmonix Small Stone, a TS9 TubeScreamer, a DOD 60's fuzz, and a BOSS Chorus. Then play it out to my modified combo setup that involves an old Marshall combo to old stereo equipment i've bought at yard sales. I was suprised with this guitar because there is no feedback what-so-ever, which i found common with other 7 string brands like B.C. Rich, and Schecter. The low end comes in clear with little buzz, even when playing an B5 chord. It has a 5 way pickup setup, which allows a variety of bassy rhythm sounds or bright lead sounds. I just wish that ibanez started making a seven string RG that had the seperate tone and volume controls for each pickup.

When I got this thing it was about a 1/4 step out of tune, but I soon fixed it. The action was a little high for my taste when i started to dish out riffs. So i lowered it a bit to better fufill my needs. I can't detect any flaws on it, it's completely solid.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I would play this guitar live without a backup, its to much of a solid guitar not to trust. I believe that the hardware with last for a while. However, ive heard horror stories of the paint chipping off them like mad, i just hope it wont happen to me. As I said before IT'S A FUCKING ROCK.

Ive never had to deal with Ibanez directly, but they must have the worst customer support ever. I have heard so many "bad" things about them I dont wanna even think about it.
P.S.- Just for everyones knowledge here is Hoshino's "customer support" number I got from the back of GW- 215-638-8670 Just try to get a straight answer from them. I dare you.

Honestly, I have always loved the way Ibanez's have played and this is just another guitar to back up my cause. I own a Gibson Les Paul Special, and I have owned other high range electrics, and this guitar fits right up there. I STRONGLY URGE ALL OF HUMANITY TO BUY THIS GUITAR TO SAVE US FROM THE COMING APOCOLYPSE THAT MUSIC IS BECOMING.

Made 1n 1999, basswood body, 24 frets (like most of Ibanez's 7 strings. One volume and one tone pot, five way selector. Super strat body shape, fixed bridge, two Ibanez humbuckers(highe output), jumbo frets.

Sound : 8
I play very heavy music ( Fear Factory, Korn, Meshuggah, Metallica, Slayer, etc.) I play this guitar through a Line 6 POD, on the Modern Hi-Gain setting and I get a very crunchy sound, perfect for metal. With the noise gate on the POD, it makes no noise whatsoever. I LOVE everything about this guitar. The clean, even with the drive at 0, the sound is still a little crunchy. When I say 8, I mean 10 for the distortion and 7 for the clean. With the low B tuning, you can get a really heavy, sludgy sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar was set up excellent from the factory. The action was perfect for me. I can not see anything wrong with this guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I am not a gigging musician yet, but this guitar would definitly withstand gigs, this guitar will probably last as long as I will. The strap buttons are solid, my strap hasn't come off once while playing. I can really on it without a backup whenever I start gigging.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to call them.

I have had this guitar less than a month, but I know it will be my main guitar for the rest of my life. As far as 7-strings, Nobody should even consider getting an ESP or Shechter or BC Rich, go with the company that has had the most experiance in making them and the one that most artists (Dino Cazares, Munky and Head, Wes Borland, Marten Hagstrom And Fredirick Thordendal, John Petrucci, and Steve Vai.) who use 7 strings use.
