Dunno when or where it was made, 22 fret, solid-top, Volume, tone, 5 way selector, and coil tap for bottom humbucker. S/S/H. All stock Ibanez pickups. Passive, Basswood body, Maple neck, Rosewood fretboard. Black finish w/ red outline(quite badass). Floyd rose bridge.

Sound : 5
Althought it has a humbucker, the output sort of sucks compared to the stuff Ibanez makes now. I play mostly metal/rock, and it just puts out a really weak tone. I am playing through one of Iggy Pop's old concert cabs, powered through a SUNN concert lead head. I am using a Ibanez Tubescreamer, BOSS super chorus, Ibanez TS-7 tubescreamer, BOSS delay/echo, and a vintage MXR phaser.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I got it at a pawn shop, so everything was REALLY screwed up. the Floyd Rose wasn't even connected to the guitar on one side!

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar is INDESTRUCTABLE!!! In my room, we were hanging guitars from the wall as part of the remodeling into a studio, and the hook that this thing was on wasn't at a proper angle to hold it, and it fell about 4-5 feet, and bounced up another 2 wen it landed. To my suprise, there was absolutery no harm done to the guitar done whatsoever! The Truss rod is my only "durability" complaint, because it is completely maxed out, and the neck still bows if I put a set of 10's or 11's on there.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
All in all, the low-output humbucker and truss rod are my only real complaints. Perhaps I will replace the neck, and switch out the S/S/H setup for two high output EMG Humbuckers.

i have a 1985 Roadstar made in Japan,it has 24 frets custom midnight blue top, kind of like PRS 10 top.it has volume,2 tone nobs,5-way selector and a toggle switch for pickups. My guitar is loaded with 2 EMG-81's,which are also in Kirk Hammets ESP.I have active electronics,
equiped with Floyd Rose, locking tuners, the neck on this guitar is my favorite.

Sound : 10
It fits my music too well.............SOUNDS GREAT at everything~!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the action was decent, eventhough it was the best Roadstar they made

My Roadie is from Japan and was built in 1985. It has 22 frets, rosewood fretboard with a basswood body, two sweet humbuckers one ibanez one EMG and a floyd rose locking trem. Ive had this guitar about two years and every one who has played and seen it thinks its great.

Sound : 10
This guitar is perfect for my playing style, it has this great energetic sound that screams at you. With the humbuckers on the bridge setting you get a nice fat tone, but on the neck you get a great, bright Dinosaur Jr or Sonic Youth sound. I run it through a Marshall valvestate amp and i can pretty much get it to have any sound i want, both the distorsion and clean channels are equal.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action on this guitar is the best, a nice snug fit. Becuz the guitar is pretty old, some of the frets (mainly the 15th and 16th) are startinto come away, this doesn't affect the playability much. The finish is a aged white with black and red stripes running around the edge.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar has had the crap beaten out of it, i'm astounded at its durability. its got all its original hardware. VERY RELIABLE!!!

Made in Japan in 1985. This guitar is awesome. It a flamed maple top I think but I'm not too sure to be honest. The controls are great. 1 Master tone and a volume knob for each pickup. It has 2 Humbuckers which I think are the original Ibanez fitted ones. It has a 3 way selector switch and the volume knobs are push downs which activate a coil tapping effect on the pickups. Not sure what the neck is made form as it's painted black, but it does have a rosewood fret board. It comes with an Ibanez type of Floyd Rose bridge, which is similar but actually unlike the modern licensed floyd rose's being put onto today's Ibanez guitars. Black finish, with two thin parallel red lines following the shape of the front of the guitar. Also painted black are the neck and headstock, with silver Ibanez logo painted on. 24 frets. Ibanez smooth tuners, locking nut also included. It's shaped kind of like a strat, too.

Sound : 10
I play rock and this guitar is awesome. I was planning to change the pickups once I bought it but now I'm not so sure. Sounds great with my Boss Digital Metalizer, and sounds even more awesome than anything I've ever heard on clean! The tone is so warm, and the sustain is second to none. This guitar could be used to play Rock, Punk, Indie, Jazz, Blues. You name it. No faults there.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Well I couldn't comment on factory settings with it being used and 15 years old. But right now the action is good, the bridge is in great condition. Does have a slightly loose machine head. The back of the guitar is scratched a fair bit too but it didn't put me off buying it.

Reliability/Durability : 8
These things seem to be the immortals of the guitar world! The finish seems to be as thick and great looking in the unknocked spots as it was the day it arrived in the store from the factory. I believe I could gig with this guitar without a backup.

I've been playing a few years and the first somewhat decent guitar I had was my trusty Mexican Strat. I never thought that would be pushed into second place without me speind at least #500 on a guitar but I was very wrong! If it were stolen or lost I would go insane. I would travel to the ends of the earth and back to get back my baby.

Maple neck; rosewood fingerboard; Ibenez tuning gears(decent) "off yellow" finish. Someone in a fit of genius put a Floyd Rose tremelo on it, I can't stand those bloody things! Standard pick-ups except that I had a Seymour Duncan pick-up put on the bridge position for some more punch.

Sound : 6
Sound is really good when guitar is behaveing. Played it through a Crate 120 that I used to have and it sounded great. Presently i play it through an old Peavey Backstage 30 that I bought in 1977(!) Has a worm tone at 4 or 5 and can get mean and dirty at 10. Cannot stand the Floyd Rose.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Boought the guitar on consignment so it had loose everything. After some tightning all around I wanted the Floyd Rose removed but no one would touch it. Has good action and playability.

Reliability/Durability : 5
Decent all around in this case, but no, I would want a back-up.

25 years.
No.
If it were stolen or lost, I really don't know. I love that it can take a beating. I hate the Floyd Rose, because I have opted to play the guitar "open" and it is difficult to keep in tune.

Made in Japan, dunno the year though its looks quite old due to the rust here and there. It has a 22 fret maple neck and a kind of reddish sunburst/quilted finish(full of holes n'dents)with an off white binding round the body. The body is basicaly a modified strat shape but there's something telecastorish about it but i think thats just the headstock. It has a trapeeze bridge with "Rock hard Japan" engraved on it.It has 1 fat pickup mounted on it and i think that its a Dimarzio super distortion pickup,1 volume(duu)and 1 tone.

Sound : 9
I've found the guitar to be extremly versitile.I play seriously heavy stuff with the bands i'm in my last band played in B and I used a couple of Jacksons which i'm really used to playing but in terms of fat richness and overall clarity through a simple Boss stompbox and a clean set marshall stack every string is heard(something im not used to)at gig levels.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Its older than me so?????

Its atough cookie and seems to have put up with some neglect from some undeserving dude.
My Guitars scarred but its a veteran no joke

I recently got this back after having "loaned" it for about 14 years.
I played and I remembered why I bought it new in the first place.
THe main feature is that it two pickups that are changed from single
coil sound to humbucker by the push of a button. The sound is really
there. It can go from blues to classic rock to metal.
When I had this originally I played it through a Fender Concert amp
Which between the two gave incredable range of tone.
The fingerboard was rosewood up to 22 frets.
The Floyd rose bar worked great but as I only use it subtlely, I
took the locking nuts off just for ease of playing and hassle, as I
didn't need them due to the tuners being solid.
The finnish is what I would describe as metalic royal blue.(very nice)

Sound : 8
The quality of sound is very good, but what impressed me was the variety of due to the single coil / humbucker combo.
Sweet blues to GRONCK.
The single coil setting were noticable only by the extra noise.
This was the one feature that p&$%ed me off about this guitar. you
didn't have that visual aid to tell you how you were setup before
playing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
When I bough it new the finish on the neck was intolerable. It was
like glue. It caused friction burns and slowed down the playing.
It took a good six month of playing to improve to that worn in
feeling. Now that its an old guitar, its much better.
I dont like the tone control. It doesn't do much and now is a little
bit loose. I think I might change it

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar has improved with age. It's now almost 20 years old
and in the best form of its life. There are a couple of dings and
a very small chip out of the headstock finish, but its better than
new considering it was in the possension of a practicing alcoholic
for 14 years before he sobered up. I have AA to thank for my returned
guitar as this guy had to make amends. Which is OK by me as I had
written the guitar off long ago.

If stolen (it wont be lent again) I would take the insurance money
and buy a Fender Strat because that is where I'm at now. But this
is a very good guitar. If I was playing where a lot of style changes
were needed I would use this guitar even if only for its pickup
configuation.
My pedals are an original tube screamer TS9, Boss TW1 (touch wah)
and an analog delay. I use the analog DM2 delay because the digitals are too clean and soulless for my tastes. I guess I'm just an old
fart, but I'm an old fart thats happy where he is.
Good guitar! I'm happy I have it back.

THIS IS A LATE 80'S OR EARLY 90'S IBANEZ ROADSTAR SERIES II BASS. THE
NECK IS ONE PIECE, BOLT-ON WITH 21 FRETS. THIS IS A SOLID BODIED 4 STRINGER WITH ONE IBANEZ "P" STYLE PICKUP ACCOMPANIED BY PASSIVE ELECTRONICS AND ONE VOLUME+ ONE TONE CONTROL. THIS BASS IS PEARL WHITE WITH A PLAIN BLACK PICKGUARD AND MATCHING HEADSTOCK WITH ALL 4 IBANEZ ENCLOSED TUNERS ON THE TOP. IT HAS A PRECISION STYLE ALDER (??) BODY AND A STANDARD DIE-CAST TOPLOAD BRIDGE.

Sound : 9
THIS BASS IS VERY GOOD FOR MANY MUSICAL STYLES. YOU CAN PLAY BLUES/COUNTRY, JAZZ, HEAVY METAL OR JUST PLAIN ROCK N ROLL. RIGHT NOW I AM PLAYING THROUGH A YORKVILLE Y200 AMP OR A PEAVEY MICRO BASS (ROOM) WITH A BOSS SUPER PHASER AND AN IBANEZ SONIC DISTORTION PEDAL. THROUGH THE MICROBASS WITH THE TREBLE ALL THE WAY UP THERE IS SLIGHT BUZZ (IT COULD BE THE AMP!!) BUT OTHERWISE NOISELESS. WITH THE TREBLE AT MAX IT IS VERY BRIGHT AND PUNCHY, THE EXACT OPPOSITE WITH BASS BOOSTED. THIS BASS IS SUITED FOR LIVE SHOWS, RECORDING AND GENERAL JAMMING IN THE BASEMENT.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
THIS BASS IS ABOUT 9-10 YEARS OLD, THE ACTION IS STILL VERY LOW AND VERY EASY TO PLAY. THE NECK IS STRAIGHT AND TRUE AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN ADJUSTED!!!!! I MEAN NEVER!!!!!! THE NECK IS AMAZING!!!!! THE PICKUPS FIT INTO PLACE WITH NO SPACING BETWEEN THEM AND THE PICKGUARD. THE ONLY FLAWS ON THIS BASS ARE THE ONES IT HAS ENDURED WHILE IN MY HANDS (DENTS AND DINGS) AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME SOME SLIGHT RUST IS STARTING TO SHOW ON BRIDGE. IT IS A SOLID BASS!!!

Reliability/Durability : 10
THIS BASS IS FOR SURE ONE TOUGH MOTHER. IT HAS WITHSTOOD EVERYTHING FROM PLAYING IN CLUBS, PLAYING IN GYMS, PLAYING OUTSIDE ON THE STREET AND JAMMING. EVERYTHING IS VERY SOLID A RELIABLE. AT THIS TIME THIS IS MY ONLY BASS SO IT IS MY MAIN AXE AND I WOULD NEVER TRADE IT IN FOR ANYTHING AND AFTER I UPGRADE IT WILL STILL BE MY FAVORITE. THE STRAP BUTTONS ARE A UNIQUE UPSIDE-DOWN FLATTENED V SHAPE (HARD TO PICTURE?) AND MY STRAP HAS NEVER FALLEN OFF, MUCH SAFER THAN NORMAL STRAP BUTTONS AND AS I SAID BEFORE, IT HAS NEVER HAD TO HAVE THE TRUSS ROD ADJUSTED AND THE NECK IS AS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW!!!!.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I PERSONALLY HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS AND ALSO OWN A SAMICK "P" BASS (OLDIE), USED TO OWN A FENDER JAZZ (SOLD), YAMAHA RBX 4 STRING AND AM SOON TO BE GETTING AN IBANEZ SR3005SOL. THERE IS NOTHING I REGRET ABOUT BUYING THIS BASS AND IF IT WERE STOLEN I WOULD HUNT IT DOWN TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, FROM IT'S CLASSIC LOOK AND TONE TO IT'S STABILITY AND RELIABILITY. AS I SAID I BOUGHT IS USED FROM A FRIEND OVER ANYTHING IN STORES AND BELIEVE ME, WHEN I GO SHOPPING FOR GUITARS I BRING COFFEE!!!
