made somewhere in the 80s hase 2 active soapbar pickups that are incredible sounding for metal. the bass is very solid plays very well and seems almost indestructibl except for the fact that you neeed to change the baterie like once a month the rosewood fretboard is inlaid very nice and the frets are very level i currently have the truss rod tightend all the way and the bridge saddles down as far as they will go without the strings laying against the frets and it wont rattle the ibanez tuners are really nice they stay in tune well and look really nice all the hardware is like bronze but really grungy due to age the bridge is cool because theres only 1 screw to set the hight

this bass sounds really really good for my playing (all metal) its got a sort of a mid-dip kind of sound with a very rich bottom and crisp top with dropped out mids fits my style very well

when i got it it was set almost perfect little tweaking could be done without ruining it the finish was a litle grungy with some chips and stuff and bad discoloration on the binding but the white really gave me a distinct look(cause everybody hase a black bass)but for its age very nice

this bass is a tank ive only adjusted the neck 1 time which was when i got it the bridge needs minor adjustment every once in a while or every time sombody but me plays it (it only likes me and gets mad when other people play it so i dont let people play it) i have and will gig with out back up the strap buttons are like little boomerangs and holds the strap really well (its really really hard to get the strap on and off)

This roadstar II has been manufactured in Japan in 1984. It is made of a maple (go through) neck with mahogany body with two humbuckers. The fingerboard is from Rosewood with dot inlays. All hardware is goldplated. I changed the bridge for a Schaller one, because the original Ibanez one had a strange resonance. The finish is grey and after 16 years of use a little cracked. To prevent from damage during live gigs the guitar is equipped with schaller strap-locks
Sound

Sound is quite good, especcially the bridge element. Elements are switchable (single coil-humbucking) and still original. In order to create a rock-sound I use it live with an old London City 100Watt tube amp with 2x12" celestions. I don't use effects (only a digital delay pedal of boss). In the studio I use an effect processor of Yahama (no amp).

Factory adjustment I do not recall. The guitar please fine with a low action. The only problem is the pick-up selector switch which is in an unconfortable position benaeth the bridge, so you are able to switch it by accident

I have an 1983 Roadstar. It has 22 frets, and has a kind of swamp wood-maple finish goin on. The controls that are given are a 5way seymore duncan selector, one volume, and one tone. It also has a phase selector that works with the emg s/s/s pick-up selection nicely,...um i guess that it looks alot like a stat.. I give the features a 8, because the 5 way selector screwed up a couple of times
Sound
:

This guitar suits my style because it is able to make almost any sound that you could want... i can play heavy sort of gun's and roses if i wanted too(phhhhhhsssssshhh) and i can also play nice light music that has no effects nicely, like jazz, and such

this gtr is used for all types of music it has both strat and les paul capabilities the middle pickup is a little noisey but not too bad overall its a very versatile sounding instrument, a little more mellow than a strat but a little brighter than a paul

well ive been playing for bout 27 yrs and grew up on gibsons and fenders, and ibanez was a 4 letter word to me, however i am a beleiver now.i bassicaly like a late 60s SG neck and this puppy has one almost identical to my old SG i also like both strat and les paul tones and this gtr can do that pretty well. i wish it had a little deeper mid tone but that might be the pickups .i am currently looking for another like it, so yes i would buy another . also vintage magizine states that theese gtrs will be collectors in the future due to the poor quality of american gtrs of the 80s

I don't which year it was made because i bought it 2nd hand from a working-collegue of my father. Although it's an japan made 22 fret strat-type solid body guitar with rosewood fingerboard. It has got one tone and one volume control and a 5 way selector for the s/s/s pu's. the pu's are standard. The tuners are locking with a floyd-rose tremolo.
Sound
:
8
the guy i bought it from was playing big-band music and that's also the type of music it's best suited for. Blues ,grunge or punk also sound ok. For metal the pu configuration is too weak.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The guy i bought it from had it properly set-up so there was no problem apart from a loose contact on the cable socket and a noisy volume pot.

I've dropped this guitar a few times and there has been no major damage. The finish is good enough to withstand rough use. Only the rear strap button was a bit weared and had to be replaced.

I've been playing five years now and this was the first electric guitar i got. I'm still happy with it although it doesn't fit my musical style. In the beginning i was a bit fed up with the floyd-rose tremolo when changing strings, but i got used to it, although it takes a really long time until you have got them in tune!! The best thing about this guitar is that it is so easy to play. The neck fits your hand nicely, because of the bigger radius of the neck ( Bends are real easy ,although i play 10s as strings)

It was ok, a little generic, lacked the all inspiring oomph. It has its copy of the tones, but it did not sound like you were there.
I play classic rock, pop, blues, metal, altenative, modern/current rock ,and R&B.

Yes, I would buy it again. However,it is not the same machine. I put a Lace-Sensor Blue in the neck, gold in the middle, a TB-1 in the bridge (try it you will love it). The neck is now a Signature replacement. Has also Mid-Cut-Boost/Tone and Volume/Coil cut pots, and the knobs are now the black/clear numbered Les Paul knobs. This guitar now has Killer tones and plays easier than nymph on a hot summer night.
Buy it and experiment with it. Learn about the workings of your guitar at a laughable price.

1984, bolt neck, don't know the body or neck woods (feels heavy)Pickups: SSH, Floyd Rose type tremelo, Locking headstock (just above the nut), 1 vol. 1 tone control, coil tap tone control for bridge humbucker, the most beautiful candy apple red finish I ever say, good tuners.

Sounds great. These pickups are more pleasant sounding to me that many of the stock fenders, and Seymour Duncans I've owned. Great for clean single coil tones or overdriven humbucker tones. I plug into a Tube Works Tube Driver pedal than into a Fender Blues Deluxe or Peavey Classic 30. Sounds great in both, but really makes the Blues Deluxe come alive. NO noise. Very versitile. I can easily see this as a "one size fits all" guitar for me. Likes, everything, dislikes, nothing.

I came to buy this guitar because I had some stomp boxes and a pedal board that I couldn't sell, so I went to Music Go Round to trade them in on anything I might have a better use for. I found this Ibanez on the rack, played it, and fell in love. I'm 50 years old, been playing since High School, and have gone through a lot of gear. this one could be a keeper. It's the most fun guitar I've had in a long time.

Light blue finish on a solid, heavy strat style body. Made in Japan, bolt on neck with 22 frets. It has a floating bridge, two single coil and one humbucker, S/S/H. 1 volume and 1 tone control, a 5-way selector. I got it with a hard case, cable, allen keys, and a cheap 10 watt amp which I still have since i can't find any here in karachi.
Sound
:

It sounds real good on setting 2; 1,3,and 4 make a little noise on overdrive. the humbucker sounds ok on its own, if i fiddle around with the selector a bit, otherwise i buzzes and you can't hear a thing. since i only have my guitar and cheap amp, i don't know what it sounds like with any other effects, but i can do quite alot with it. can sound like a strat, and i get it to scream with the humbucker on overdrive.

The guitar is well made and there's nothing loose. no flaws that i can see or feel. very nice finish. I had to reset the action, but otherwise everything was great.

This is an extremely well made, solid guitar that would easily manage live playing, without a backup. the strap buttons are v-shaped and once you get the strap on, they can't come off. the previous owner i don't think was very nice to it, because one strap button had been screwed in again next to the original hole, but it's been holding up so far.

I've only been playing for 6 months, and i didn't have much money, so i needed a cheap good quality guitar since i live in pakistan, and this one seemed good, partly because i got a hardcase and amp with it. if i lost it, i would want something similar. the only major complaint i have is the buzzing sound on some pickups. i love the colour, it looks green from some angles and blue from others, and glitters. i noticed after i bought it that it only had 4 instead of 5 springs at the back to hold the bridge, but i don't think it makes a difference.
