Black finish, 22 frets, Two controls, (Volume and tone) all EMG pick-ups configures S-S-H. Passive electronics. solid maple body and bolt on neck. Floating bridge.
Sound

Having the humbucking pick-ups at the bridge instead of the neck, doesn't really give it "thick" tones. However the single coil pick-ups are really smooth, clean tones. It is a used guitar, and sometimes you get a pick-up selector switch the crackles when setting, this one did not. The sound is very crisp and clear. All of the strings can be heard.

Because of the floating bridge, the action is a tad high to compensate for the buzzing off the frets. So heavy metal is out of the question. But for good grunge, rock and roll, or just strumming, it is absolutly perfect. I have never played an electric that you can strum and sound and feel as good as this one does.

Now this guitar is heavy. After about three hours you are going to notice it. But if I drop it (I hope I never do) I could probably play it and it would still be in tune.

Never needed it, don't think I will.

The Ibenez Roadster II will probably out live me. It is very sturdy with it's solid maple body, The neck is just the right size where you don't get cramps when playing a boat load of bar chords, and a crystal sound plays nice through a Fender Half-stack. Don't let a cheap price tell you it's a crappy guitar.

I play alot of metal. I usually run the thing through a dod deathmetal pedal and a Crate amp. Sometimes I use the overdrive on my amp to get a Sabbath sound.

It has a really nice action. I didn't care for the original pickups though. I replaced them with a couple of humbuckers. The finish was excellent. It survives most of the beatings I give it.

This guitar would definitly handle giging. You can't beat the V-shaped strap buttons. They will hold your strap no matter how much you move around. It stays in tune real well. I could definitly use this in a gig without a backup.

I've been playing for a few years and this has been the best guitar I've owned. I haven't seen a better finish. With the humbuckers it gives you a really good metal sound. If it were lost or stolen I would definitly buy another. I like Ibanez guitars alot.

The features are really simple. Volume and Tone is all. It works for me. The less complicated the better.

It is a great guitar! The sound is great, but it doesn't suite my style of playing. I am into Metal and stuff like Slayer and Pantera. This is a really good blues/jazz guitar. It gets a nice clean sound out of it.

This thing is the hardest thing in the world. The beating that it's gotten from me with definitely withstand anyone else. It doesn't have anything wrong with it.

I've been playing since, well, Christmas so obviously I don't know as much as a lot of other people but i'm learning this stuff. I think that I, personally would not buy this guitar again because it isn't my type of guitar, but I think that anyone else definitely would. It is really a great guitar, reliable enough to gig with, won't break down on you.

The Roadstars a lot like the blazer, based on the strat , except it wasn't reissued. This ones an original from Japan. My particular model is black with a solid maple 22-fret neck . I don't know what wood the body is , but it's pretty heavy. It has 3 single-coil pickups a 5 way selector and 1 volume and 1 tone control. A really nifty feature is a phase switch that reverses the phase of the middle pickup so the 2 and forth switch positions can sound really wiry, or full depending on what you want . Comes with a vintage strat type tremolo bridge. Oh , the case came included .I've had it for 8 years.

Overall the sounds are pretty usable and pleasant. I've had it for almost 7 years now and the sound has never let me down. It doesn't sound exactly like a strat, but then if thats what you want thats what you would buy.
I'm currently using it through a Fender deluxe 85 tranny , with Boss wah, phaser and Metal zone (no really , I am!) and I get some pretty cool sounds out of it .
I get some hartwarming clean tones out of it in positions 2 and 4 and the bridge position really stings , which is good in my book. the Roadstar does well when it comes to the overdrive stakes as well. It handles texas blues with style and can even handle the aggresion of AC/DC(not the sound , but the feel) It sounds a bit stupid frying it straight through the metal zone , but with a bit of amp overdrive thrown in it kicks ass so hard Marilyn Manson'll go running to his mommy .
My only complaint is that the neck pickup can sound to woolly or hollow at times , but I don't use it that much anyway .
I've used this guitar to record an album and I'm more than happy with the results . That should say a lot.

This is a difficult bit. The construction of the guitar is excellent. For an old Japanese manufactured guitar the fit and finish is really good ,it's as good as good modern Japanese guitars, all the components feel like quality parts, and everything is aligned well. The action was setup before I got it so I can't complain.
However there is a bit of a problem . . . I find the neck on the guitar a tad thin for me , but I've got big hands, and play mainly rhythm type stuff. It's about the width and depth of a Jaguar neck , but a slightly longer scale . This would be fine for smaller players and women , BUT the body is actually slightly bigger than a strat and quite a bit heavier which leaves me wondering about the wisdom of the designer .

This guitar has played live and I've used to without a backup , alas to my own downfall ( It was my first gig OK !) For a tremolo bridge it stays amazingly in tune. It was pretty resistant to temperature changes and can take a walloping on stage and stay in tune. My only complaint from a live point of view , is that it's pretty difficult to remove broken strings from the bridge , but my guess is that all these tremolos are like that.
The only thing I've ever needed to replace was the 5 way switch.
The strap buttons are excellent , they're a wide V shape . It's a bit of a struggle to pull a strap hole over them , but once on , there's no way your straps coming off.

I like this guitar , it does all the single coil stuff a guy could want, so I don't want to sell it. My next guitar would probably be something like as Gibson SG, so they'd compliment each other. Would I buy it again ? I probably would considering that , for the price It's a really well made guitar and the range of lefties at this price is pretty lame . I'd only consider selling it if I was to buy something like a G&L Legacy .
